[Q] HELP! Cell standby battery drain with no sim card - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I bought an S3 cheap that has no IMEI just to use it as a flight instrument (variometer) because of the built in barometric sensor. My problem is, that even it doesn't have a sim card inserted, cell standby still draws huge amount of juice from the battery. It is like 85% of the battery usage. In battery stats it shows the red bar signalling that it has no cell coverage, but still looking for it. I even put it in airplane mode but to no avail. How could I get rid of the cellular function of the phone for good ? I would even open up the phone and cut wires if needed. I am rooted.
Thanks!

Phone randomly turns off and battery is somewhat drained

I did some searches here on XDA and on Google, but not sure if it's the same problem as other people had.
My phone, Xperia Mini with CyanogenMod 10 nightly ROM, some times randomly shuts off, and wouldn't turn on until I remove and insert back the battery, after which I can see that it instantly drained quite a chunk of the battery.
The main suggestion is that the battery is bad, but this phone is a month old, so I would assume my battery should be fine.
I attached the battery graph.
You can also see that the mobile network signal keeps dropping off, but I have no idea if that's related. I can talk to people also when I supposedly don't have reception...
Thanks.

S6 edge battery drain on idle (android os battery drain)

i recently purchased an s6 edge and updated it to 5.1.1 as soon as i got it.however i went to sleep on 100 percent and woke up to about 20 percent which is a massive drain in battery..the battery stats show ADROID OS on top of the list which is keeping the CUP active all the times and not letting the phone go in to sleep..i tried a factory reset but it did not fix the issue. i disabled most of the bloatware that did not fix the issue either..then i noticed that when i remove the sim card from my phone my phone goes in to deep sleep and battery life comes back to normal however when i plug in the sim card the phone can not go in to deep sleep again..any possible solutions?
I figured it out..the issue was with with my sim card for some reason..the phone would be fine on idle without my sim card but with the sim card it drained battery..i tried another sim card on it and the issue got fixed right away.
I have an s6 edge tmobile being used in a different country and it drains 90% battery over night i have disabled all the bloatware and battery consuming apps . I have tried keeping my phone on airplane mode and greenify with root ive tried the locatuon method on youtube yet drain is the same . Only if i power off the phone at night its battery remains same . Also i have tried ultra power saving mode but nothing works . Battery stats show device idle and display on top but all the remaining app dont show any abnormal battery usage . And the phone works normal if i use it continuosly even then i get 3-4 hours with heavey usage . The only problem is when the phone is at idle it starts consuming abnormal amounts of battery . Any solution ?

Oppo Realme 1 Battery and Sim card Issue?

Hello Friends i have 6Gb ram and 128 gb rom variant oppo real me 1 phone which purched in just 7 day ago.
I have a only one sim . so when i put sim in oppo realme 1 tray and start the phone. sim network is coming in and out problem . but when i remove thi sim to another phone there is no sim issue every time i connected with network. but in real me 1 strange behavior to sim detect on and after some detect off.
and i tried with both sim 1 and sim2 swapping. but couldn't find the problem.
And also i have to notice that my phone battery is draining fast because fully charged at 10 AM and light use of the phone battery go to 1 to 10% in just 5 hour. i also use power saving mode on but there is no effect on this?
If any one have solution then reply or i have to return my phone? give me advise.
Hey mate, have you tried setting network type to 2G to see if signal strength is stable? you can also try any other SIM if you have preferably of different service provider.
With respect to battery, I had issue of fast discharging i.e. around 25% overnight even when phone is idle. Issue actually started one night when I forgot to unplug the phone from charger and went off to sleep. Then I decided to do factory reset and now everything back to normal. With mix of medium to heavy usage, I get 1 full day of battery backup. you can also try to factory reset if not already.
My battery efficiency is very low
It has almost lost 10% in just 30 Min for light usage so I please request for an update for battery performance
OK Finally Testing More 3 Day.
My battery is Down within 5 Hour and sim network is coming and going
And answer is as per my use i requirement more then 12 to 13 hour. and i have diagnosed the problem is in my sim card. My sim card chip is crashed that's way i got network is coming and going. so i think battery is use in this manner to searching sim and battery is drains more. and also sim 2 is not inserted but in setting sim is on that why my battery is discharge fast.
But when i inserted new sim in both slot guess what my problem is gone and i have use my phone more then 24 hour and battery still remaining 20%
So is that not problem in battery.
So Phone is completely working.

S9 Plus Exynos battery Problem

Hi all! My s9 Plus has been acting weird lately. It's dropping around 40 percent battery during night. It used to drop 10 percent at normal but now it's dropping like crazy. I have tried resetting the phone to factory but it's still the same
Even wiping out cache is not having any effect. This battery drop only happens when display is off.
Any fix please, i don't want to replace the battery! I'd rather sell it than that.
Thanks for your reply!
geez, very useful battery consumption screens you attached here. Maybe you are one of those type of people who leaves charging their phones over night, or charging while using it? If yes-then well in such cases batteries rarely last 2 years without losing 30% of capacity.
Also, it's sufull to FULLY discharge battery, when it turns off itself and then when phone is off connect charger and leave it until it' fully charged, this way os ad real battery "calibration" synchronizes. Sometimes os may show higher % then in reality and boom 15% and your phone turned off by itself.
To battle discharge overnight - put phone into flight mode and see if it still discharges so fast (everybody should put in flight mode at night, to not fry little brain they still left). If this helps-this may be because of cellular signal is weak in your apartment or data (wifi) is weak and phone uses too much power to amplify it. Anyway in android you can easy see what uses most power.
Also i always unlock my phones and root them to install custom roms and kernels, they 99.99% of the time will ALWAYS gets me better battery life then stock. WIth all phones i had -i charge them at most every 3rd day. I have a life so i dont spend my life on phone, this helps too to save batery
Also my DATA or Wifi is always off when i dont need it. I turn it on when i need something from internet, and turning it off when im done (good for security too)
