You should be able to purchase it and use it in another country. However, the Canadian variant is a special variant based on the T-Mobile version. The Canadian version may not support all LTE bands with your carrier so you may want to research that. Also, I'm assuming there is the Regional SIM-Lock built in for first activation. After that you'd have to get an unlock code from any online vendor (around $15) and enter it.
Canadian Model : SM-G925W8
T-Mobile: SM-G925T
If you're from EU, you're probably better off buying the 925F factory unlocked from there itself if it supports the bands. The kernels for 925F and 925T/W8 are not interchangeable so you'd be waiting for TMO/W8 development if you're into flashing custom roms/kernels.

At a store in Canada, most likely not. You'd have to look at online stores (Amazon, E-bay, Expansys). NCIX Canada is selling unlocked S6(E) but it doesn't state what model it is, and it is marked up severely. Considering you're already in EU, it's probably easier for you to import one from a neighbouring country that is selling them or buy one at a store nearby.

Thread moved.

W8 version supports all worldwide LTE bands except for a few bands in some asian markets. I took my Rogers W8 Edge to Morocco, spain, portugal, poland and germany just a few weeks ago and had LTE in all those countries

[Q] Using US 920 in UK/Europe

So, I see Best Buy are going to be selling this for $600 SIM-free, a good £100 cheaper than the UK.
What sort of issues will I see using the device in the UK if I buy it in the US? Will HSPA+ work? What about LTE?
Careful there: if it's the AT&T model, full price doesn't mean it's unlocked; it's just the price without the 2 year contract.
It is still alot cheaper buying it this way if you want a SIM free phone, the only issue is whether it will be possible to unlock it. I have found 1 site where they 'claim' to be able to unlock it for $79.99!!!
Im considering this as I really really want the cyan version, how likely do you think it will be that there will be a hack to unlock this?

If it is like Lumia 900 of AT&T, you will have to wait 6 to 8 months to get any unlock code from anyone, regardless how much you paid.
Also, AT&T itself is selling 920 for $449 without contract. 3rd party retailer will always sell for higher prices than AT&T because they don't get paid otherwise for contract free phones. But there is a slight chance that Best Buy can price match AT&T price for you.
On the other hand, Rogers version of 920 from Canada is selling for not much more and is known to be unlocked.
Both probably won't work with EU's LTE bands.

So you are saying it will not support LTE 1800Mhz?

Att here only uses 700Mhz for lte. Att phones typically come with 700Mhz and 1700Mhz bands. Even my dev version of 920 which supports more bands than att version only has 700/850/1700/2100 lte bands.
The RM820 (North American model) also has support for LTE 1900 (doesn't help anyone in Europe though).
so... is unlocking a cell phone tough?
the price is really very low.
pay extra 79.99$ is still cheaper than buying one in Europe. (but i hate the logo ._. )
but as edgedemon said, they just CLAIM that they can.
unlocking a phone must do this way?
or can jb the phone and install something to unlock?
or.. flashing the ROM?
Any idea how I'd go about getting a Rogers phone when I'm in the US? They're Canadian, right?
I'm not so concerned about LTE if it does HSPA+ on European frequencies.
What about flashing a US Device with a EU's Rom ?
I'm a real noobie in that domain !
In France LTE bands are 800 and 2600 ...
thx for advices !
Well, the rumour goes that all the 920s have all the bands available, but only the certain ones for that region are activated in software.
If that's true, then some day someone might work out how to flash the Radio ROM. But I doubt flashing the software ROM (which you can do just now) will make any changes to the radio ROM, so we'll need to wait until/if someone cracks it.
That goes for the 3G bands... I don't know if the phones come with all LTE bands available (and it's still a rumour that they even have all 3G bands)

AT&T device (a) can't be unlocked, so you can't use it with anything other than an AT&T SIM and (b) won't have European LTE frequencies.

Which US model for Canada

So, as usual its taking "forever" for the Canadian carriers to figure out if they are going to sell. I was wondering, if I purchased from US which carrier is required to work with Rogers? Or are the watches not carrier specific and any North American product would work?

If AT&T unlocked will work for you then you can get this one or T- mobile unlocked Verizon & Sprint can not be Unlocked there is no sim card
I am on Rogers and have purchased the AT&T R750A model. After unlocking it using Cell Unlocker, it works well on Rogers. If you buy from AT&T it is only $299 so a better deal then buying it from Samsung Canada.

Where Can I Purchase the Exynos SGS9?

I currently own a SAMSUNG Galaxy S 7 international variant or SM-G930F which was purchased through BHPhotoVideo. Sadly, they're only selling the North American Variant (which is the SnapDragon variant) and I don't know where I can go to find the international Exynos version. Their website offered reasonable priced unlocked international mobile devices and handled warranties if you needed to return or exchange your device. I already purchased the unlocked Snapdragon SGS9+ through the Samsung website but I wish I could get my hands on the Exynos version. Does anybody know of a reliable online retailer where I can find the unlocked international version? Thanks in advanced.
eBay?

This ebay vendor in Florida offers Exynos variants. Manufactured in Viet Nam but don't expect a warranty.

Clove UK
I am in the US but want the Exynos version of the S9+ (hoping that BCM47755 chip will someday allow 2 cm GNSS resolution). I have read many previous threads about the advantages of European models from Clove (good reputation, two year warranty) vs Asian models from various Ebay vendors (more mixed reputation, no warranty).
Clove is roughly $300 dollars more than the Ebay vendors and I am wondering if I am going to flash a new ROM and void the warranty anyway. is there any reason not to save the money?

Places or sites where you can buy Poco/phone F1 International or any version for USA?

Hi there, just want to get this, I'm from USA. I saw this on sites like: Sunsky (great price I guess), Gearbest (so expensive), Geekbuying (expensive I think)...
Any of these are safe? Recommended or not? What do you think and how about taxes? Any other option to consider?
For the US, goods valued under 800 are not subjected to import tax, whereas it's different in Europe. An invoice with a $ worth is normally attached to the outside of packages. US Customs will investigate items that clearly exceed their shown value (ex. $200 for $3000 jewelry).
But I would hold off on importing. The variant that's available is missing the major LTE bands for US carriers.

if the device is coming to Mexico and Colombia, then it should have band 2 and 4.

No idea why everybody is talking about that it is locked? The Pocophone was inteded for the european and indian market and that is why these bands are unlocked out of the box. There is no US version or something so that is why probably these bands are locked. If you want a US version I would wait for Xiaomi to bring out the official one

USA Samsung Tab S6 Bootloader

Does the USA based tab S6 have a unlocked/oem unlock bootloader? Looking to buy a new tablet that has an easy unlock. Sick of messing with the locked flagship phones.
Wait for confirmation from one of our American users, but I'm sure I've read Verizon locks all their bootloaders. So at the very least, you need one not from that carrier.

Just looking at a wifi model.
Anyone with a USA tab s6? ready to order but not going to bother if its locked.
Look for model number. Usa is not model number and nobody makes usa tab s6. Avoid your corrupt oligopoly carrier versions and you will easily root it. Wifi models are never carrier versions of course

I understand that, I was referring to the US market Tab s6 Wifi. Model SM-T860NZAAXAR or SM-T860NZALXAR.
All the US market snapdragon samsung phones have a locked bootloader and just wanted to be sure before I drop $500+ on one of these tablets.
Yes they do but tablets don't. I don't know why sunggnus didn't unlock it's unlocked sim phones though. Seems very illogical, but logic and big companies is completely incompatible thing in any way
I bought the SM-T860NZAAXAR model through Amazon (sold and shipped by Amazon) back in November 2019 for $539.00 and it came with an unlockable bootloader. I am unlocked and rooted. So far so good.
