Help rooting - Sprint LG G3

Hello all, so from all i have read so far it is possible to get a rooted zv8 if you already have a rooted zv4?? If so i have a stump rooted zv4 but i dont know how to do all the flashing and stuff needed to get root on zv8. Ive looked but havent found any step by step instructions for it. Can anyone help me with this?

So... You just need to flash ZV8?

[SOLVED] Root Access 4.4.4

Hey guys im back after smashing my beloved xperia z (which i had mastered the ins and outs of) and reluctantly replacing it with a HTC ONE m7 which was the most terrible phone i have ever used in my life.... i have plonked a good bit of cash on a z2 and I AM LOVING IT
I had updated to the latest version of KK but i am hearing mixed reports that a root is not available for this version.
If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be fabulous.
Thank you in advance

Hello
I see you are totally green on this.
Well, im kinda green too, but I have had a lot of help from @xda and now I can manage to do some stuff with my telephone.
The first thing you have to do is BACKUP!!! This is always important.
Well, then lets get to it.
The XPERIA Z2 has a locked bootloader. This means that it cannot flash any roms, custom or other without being unlocked. When you unlock the bootloader, you delete all files on the phone, (don’t ask me how, it just does) and also deletes a partition called TA. The TA-partition contains DRM-keys, to explain that, @Envious_Data might help.
Anyway, when you have root, you can backup the TA, BEFORE you flash any custom ROM, or the ROM with ROOT. That way you will always be able to go back to scratch. Without ROOT on 4.4.4 you need to downgrade to 4.4.3, ROOT and backup the TA-partition before you even start thinking about unlocking bootloader.
(search the XDA, Google (use XDA in the end for XDA results) XDA-TV and you will find tons and tons of stuff. Once you understand some, it will come fast to you.)
I have gathered some threads here for you to read, and I hope this will work for you too.

Have had some problems with SuperSU too, but try backup ta.
If not work, try restore phone with PCC.
Then downgrade and try again.

To root the Z2 and get dual recovery on 4.4.2 follow these steps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/help/how-to-root-firmware-314-t2821619
Then you need to follow the instructions in this thread, it's much easier than what it seems
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-creating-rooted-update-package-t2933155
Also, no need to backup TA unless you wanna unlock your bootloader

Backup of TA was just a mention. Also its smart to have it, cuz you might forget it.
Anyway, @xeningti the towelroot should work on 4.4.3, did you try to download the towelroot app from towelroot.com???

[Q] Root Help

Hello, I've recently gotten a LG G3 for my birthday, and so far I love it! Only thing is I can't seem to root it. Im on 4.4.2, along with the ZV4, but stump root wont work for me. My phone model is the LS990, the Sprint model, and when I try to use stump root this happens (see attachment). I'm unable to use the grind button and I can't use the brute force option. And ideas on why I can't root my phone. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Try using the flash tool to downgrade back to ZV4 or ZV8 you can check my root guide for instructions. Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/how-to-root-lg-g3-sprint-ls990-t3046496. Kust make sure to read carfully because if you don't you can end up bricking your phone.

I think I'm already on ZV4? Can you confirm I'm not before I try that dangerous method?
Yep your own ZV4 I will go ahead and link the thread for ZV4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...de-how-to-restore-sprint-lg-g3-ls990-t2852042 it only has files for ZV4. Once your on ZV4 you can root via Stump Root.

OK, so I tried what you said and the flash tool gave me an error telling me my device model is different. I did a little research, and it turns out my phone is actually model ls885, not 990, as you can see here. So that would explain why stump root wouldn't work for me. Do you have any advice, or should I try to get the stump root guys to work on developing support for my model?
I have never used/herd of this tool but here is a link that should help you root: http://resolvedqs.com/tube/7FP_JG2ywJI/how-to-root-your-new-lg-g3-vigor-android-smartphone
Just a little "heads-up" I take no responsiblity for this tool.

This is a windows tool that I made just extract it and run it. What it will do is give you your model number and what ZVx your on (x is a example). Let me know how it works plus it should help you find out what phone you have and it could be a double check. This will only work for the G3 though!

I have same phone and also rooted with Kingroot and I not sure if its my best option atm and have 2 questions about it.
1. Is this the app that giving me the screen when phone is idle that trying to sell me something as I like to remove that screen.
2. How can I remove Kingroot and get a root that use Super SU or any other good root that working besides Kingroot?

rooting without unlocking bootloader

Hi, I'm currently using LG V10 F600, which unfortunately developers of LG does not provide unlocking bootloader.
So I'm searching for ways to root my phone without unlocking the bootloader. If anyone knows someway plz tell me.
And I've found something about 'fastboot boot recovery. img' related to my request which I don't understand either, so if you know something about this, it will be a great help for me to let me know

Root is already available, there is TOT which you need to flash but you must be downgrade it to V10m first otherwise root will fail. My brother is using same variant which I got rooted without any issue.

Hi guys, I'm on f600s 30c and I just factory reset due to consecutive dirty flash. Restoring almost all apps already when I found out enable oem unlock in developer option. Does this mean we can actually unlock using adb? I'm hesitant to try since I'll have to repeat my settings and installing all over again.

How to root my S9+ in 2022?

Hi guys. I was wondering how could I root my device, been trying on my own for days and couldnt get it done. Im on Android 10 and my version is SM-G9650. Ive never flashed any rom or recovery to it, what I could do was to unlock? the bootloader of my device by going to dev setting and activating OEM unlock. Thanks beforehand.
So you say you can't get root done but then at the end you claim to only have unlocked the bootloader. I'm presuming you've searched XDA for the numerous rooting guides available that provide step by step instructions? If your using a guide then you should be past the unlocking of the boot loader and there would be some step you are stuck on? Can you tell us that step?
