I tried to unlock using the M7/M8 method. Have S-off through sunshine. Using the attached HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk I could get the API list. But touching on Simlock crashes the vdm client. Any help from the senior members will be really great.

im not a senior member :v but .... any updates? did you take any OTA before trying this?

try these 2 apks too,, the 2nd one you need to remove the "2" in the name, :v

I also tried both apks but vDM Client has stopped error. My M9 doesn't have s-off

i forgot Htc phones have a security that revert some changes after restarting the phone if you are s-on... so, it will look like you sucessfully replaced the app but after you restart the app is the original one again, to avoid that you must use//download a stock based rom and replace the apk file before flashing.
please confirm if the app is staying or not after restart... compare the space of the file after restart

I replaced apks before flashing Stock Based ROM also. No lucky, Nothing happens after clicking Start button.

That's fake. He didn't test any device before I give my M9 to him one day ago, no success until now
guys...sim unlock will not work unless the M9 HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk is hacked...there's only one person I know that has the ability, and he's too busy.

Just think, we should work around with old hacked HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk until he can help. Someone told me could make SIM Unlock Helper run into API but still be crashed after clicking on SIM Lock. So, do hopes he can help this soon. I will be first donor for this

Just use 3 days only, No problem
Works good. Removes annoying sim card message but it messes up lock screen shortcuts. It puts default shortcuts back in and it won't allow you to change them. I'm on 4.03.605.2. You could ask the guy in China to fix it, maybe?

I deleted the file you stated to delete, then downloaded the new file and replaced the old one with it. I get a blank lock screen that DOESN'T WORK. :crying: i have to use the pull down bar to get back to my home screen

Nils' Rom is deodexed, so there will not be any odex files in it.
Deodexing combines the apk with the associated odex file.

Shortcuts work but they cannot be changed.

Nice now if I could just get the 3G or 4G instead of this edge I might keep Simple Mobile for a spell
I'm using Nils 3.6 business Rom and this fix worked perfect for me, thx a lot. I just put bak on the one in system/apps and with root explorer I copied the modded one there and changed permissions to match and owners to 0 then reboot and it works perfect.

- relock
- flash 1.14.401.16 RUU
- unlock again
- check if your apps are missing again
- if they are NOT missing, please flash custom recovery, make NANDROID backup, upload it to dropbox and send me PM when ready This will be very helpful!

but system dump must be done before unlocking. I don't have such.
So just unless you guys haven't figured it out yet It's because the apps in question come preinstalled on /data/ partition not /system/ that's why there getting wiped after a bootloader unlock.

Because some apps(customizeation app, calculator, teeter, flashlight ...etc) are store in /data/app, if you unlock the device, the userdata would be wiped, and those apps would be erased.
So, you should backup those apps in /data/app after flash RUU.
I think that the RUU was missing some apps so it was installed to SD as an after thought or it was to let branded/carrier specific devices have an easy way to install their apps.
I did manage to get all of them from RUU1.14.401.16 UK

Are you guys actually getting these to install? The apks are still where they should be when I unlocked but sense launcher just won't show them. You have to go through ES file explorers app manager to get them. FM Radio, flashlight, Polaris

Not alot of info on this somewhat new phone under Verizon. I rooted the Hydro Elite last night and immediately started cleaning up the Verizon bloatware. I must have went a little crazy and removed an APK from the system/app folder that is required for the phone function to run. I am now just getting FC's on 'com.android.phone' when not in airplane mode. Tried a factory reset to no luck, tried some APK restores from similar models, etc. In my arrogance of thinking I know what I am doing I did not backup the APK's I removed from the system/app folder. Normally this would be no big deal, I could just pull them from the ROM image, or reload an image, or whatever. But, it seems Kyocera or Verizon have absolutely no self-help ROM's on the net to reinstall nor has any custom ROMs been developed for this phone yet.
This is my cry for help.....
If there is anyone who has a Kyocera Hydro Elite (the new one) that could so kindly ZIP up their system/app folder for me I would HIGHLY appreciate it. So highly, in fact, I will buy you a lunch, dinner, or whatever it takes!

First of all, thanks to O.M.J. from the HTC One forum. This guy made it happen by pointing me in the right direction. O.M.J provided me the hack that is used with the HTC one. I looked it over and finally figured out how to modify it to work with the HTC One Max.
It is a flashable zip. Keep in mind that i am very new to this phone but not new to XDA. I am a programmer but I have not done much with android. I have tested this on two different roms and two different phones. Please make a backup before flashing. This will modify the iptables and a few files. Flash at your own risk!!!
I fixed Verizon zip so now it should work with TWRP. Let me know if there are problems. Verizon has one for deodexed and odex.
I added one for Viper Sprint version so that modifications are not messed up.
Sprint KitKat added.
If anyone wants to include any of these in their rom, I am totally fine with that. It will be one less file to flash.

First of all, thanks to O.M.J. from the HTC One forum. This guy made it happen by pointing me in the right direction. O.M.J provided me the hack that is used with the HTC one. I looked it over and finally figured out how to modify it to work with the HTC One Max.
It is a flashable zip. Keep in mind that i am very new to this phone but not new to XDA. I am a programmer but I have not done much with android. I have tested this on two different roms and two different phones. Please make a backup before flashing. This will modify the iptables and a few files. Flash at your own risk!!!

thanks a lot! works good, was using the wifi tether router app, but it takes forever to connect, but this hack is better...would really be nice if O.M.J was on the ONE MAX forum too, i love his roms on my old htc devices
Posiible Verizon Hotspot Hack
Can someone with a Verizon phone be willing to test out the attached zip to see if it enables the hotspot? Please do a backup first and then let me know if this works.
I see this affects iptables. Will this affect my use of a firewall app?
Downloaded the Verizon version and backing up now before I test.

Yes it will. Which app? I use Android firewall and it works fine.
wouldn't flashed with TWRP ... Tried with flashify.. It flashed but its no go. Prompts me to call verizon.

The files work, but you built the ZIP wrong.
You included the parent folder.
Rebuild it with just the 2 subfolders and it works fine.
Just tried flashing with TWRP.. NO GO

Stock rom is odex so if stock verizon use odex one.

You can use an app like "file manager" and look at the /system/app folder to see if there are files with the .odex extension. The you would use the odex version. If there are onle files with the .apk extension then just use the regular verizon zip.

So you have used this method. I remembered the last time I checked the program needed a special key. I take it the problem has been solved. Modifying the kdz to a single bin is quite easy. I'll tell you how to make it later. Or I'll just upload the kdz you want already set.

Just curious, what changes did you make so it would operate? Just so you know, jes batch script is not setup properly for L9 kdz. It doesn't combine the bin files in the correct order. The script I put together will combine the kdz properly.

lgflashtool help you if you can't flash u&x with fastboot mode
and if stuck with lg logo now you can flash with offline update

Um, yeah. Just tried doing this, and it's nearly impossible, or very difficult to follow your instructions. Please, if you can, make a YouTube video outlining everything step-by-step, it would be a lot easier to understand that way.

I can not get this to download. I have tried all browsers, (chrome, firefox, IE) i download other stuff from mega with no problem but this files will not download. It just says error. Can you please upload this somewhere else i need this bad, thanks.
