So... I have a friend who wants his (used to be mine) S3 worked on. Would I be better to DL the S3 SW from here instead of using image from Sammobile to rebuild it? (has HW problem I am fixing and figure to update SW at same time)

If you send me the serial and model...I can get the files for you, and update my lists....Or I can instruct you on how to do this. But yes, only method I like using!
I use SamMobile images if I cannot get the Service files...to help fix enough ti get the right files.....
If that makes sense! [emoji14]

Thanks for this post....
However i dont seem to find my file here... Let me check behind the battery and PM u the S/N...
Thanks in advance

[Q] Understand Product Code & Sales Code

Hi, that's my history...
I've bought a S5830 branded (Orange) Spain.
I update it with Odin using an unbranded firmware from android 2.2.1 to android 2.3.3 (First factory defaults)
samfirmware
S5830XWKPKN ##
CSC - S5830OXXKP7
2.3.3
2011 July 13
Original
-------
Android 2.2.1
PDA:KE3 / PHONE:KD1 / CSC:KC3 (AMN)
PDA: S5830BVKE3
PHONE: S5830BVKD1
CSC: S5830AMNKC3
New
----
Android 2.3.3
PDA:KPN / PHONE:KP6 / CSC:KP7 (FOP)
PDA: S5830XWKPN
PHONE: S5830XWKP6
CSC: S5830OXXKP7
After flashing, i change my Sales Code from (AMN) (Orange) to FOP (Unbranded Spain) (Now i can upgrade using kies, but today there is not android 2.3.4 for unbranded S5830 to Spain)
Yesterday i checked my Product Code (*2767*4387264636#) and says:
GT-S5830RWAFOP
Could anyone explain to me what is RWA in the Product Code?
It's the country for which it was made the S5830?
FOP (Unbranded Spain) is the Sales Code (CSC) (Country Specific Code)
I've checked in Check Fus 2.0:
Model: GT-S5830
Spain
Product Code: GT-S5830OKAFOP
Version: Android 2.3.3
HIDSWVER: S5830XWKPN/S5830OXXKP7/S5830XWKP6/S5830XWKPN
It's wrong my Product Code? (France no Spain)?
It should be GT-S5830OKAFOP?
By the other side i've found this:
France (Bouygues)
Product Code: GT-S5830RWABOG
HIDSWVER: S5830POKC1/S5830BOGKC1/S5830XXKB1/S5830POKC1
France (Orange)
Product Code: GT-S5830RWAFTM
HIDSWVER: S5830BVKE3/S5830FTMKD1/S5830BVKD1/S5830BVKE3
So that's all, thanks for reading.

Shutdown device.
Put your device into Download mode is by pressing "Volume Down"+"Home"+"Power Button" and then after the menu shows, "Volume Up"
Connect device to the pc.
Unrar the downloaded package,
Launch Odin, select "PDA" and then browse and select the ROM file, press "Start"... You're done !!
After the first boot you must reboot the device.
Enjoy !! And don't forget to say thanks !!
[TWEAKS]
Optional Add-on:

don't use heimdall. use Odin in windows environment, follow the instructions on the first post in how to flash.

So I'll wait until next week to try this (no windows here and not willing to loose some hours to install one)

[Q] Samsung carrier check

First of all, i'm sorry for posting in this topic but haven't seen a General Samsung topic here.
I'm working to complete a Samsung Carrier Checker and currently missing some details.
Here is a sample:
Code:
IMEI Number: 35xx600621949xx
Serial Number: RF8xx21FGxX
UnNumber: 04157DF48098Exx < This i have no ideea what it is.
Model Info: MOBILE SM-G925F BLACK H3G
Model Number: SM-G925FZKEH3G < This is the model and the las 3 chars define the Carrier and Country. Example H3G = United Kingdom H3g Hutchison
Model Name: SM-G925F
Warranty Status: In Warranty
Purchase Date: 04.26.2015
Production Date: 04.24.2015
Manufacturer: P518 Samsung Electronics Vietnam < This is the place where it was manufatured, P518 means the plant id and the plant name is Samsung Electronics Vietnam
Carrier: United Kingdom H3g Hutchison
Sold By: United Kingdom / 27 April 2015
Ship To: United Kingdom / 07 May 2015
What i need:
- A complete list of carrier codes like "H3G", i have some of them from sammobile but its not complete.
- A complete list of plantcodes like "P518 ", i have some of them but its not complete.
- A way to get model info from imei or serial, because on some imeis GSPN server not replies it (Model Info: MOBILE SM-G925F BLACK H3G)
- Maybe some knows what UnNumber: 04157DF48098Exx means.
Thanks!

[EOL][UTILITY][CSC][22.06.18][SM-N950F/FD/N] Flashable CSC Selection V2.0.0

CSC Selection for SM-N950F/FD/N running a full Galaxy Note 8 Rom (all others untested!)
What is this for?
CSC stands for Country Specific Code, so every single country (and even different providers in one country) have different codes, for csc features, wallpapers, wifi calling, VoLTE, sounds etc. So it is quite important to have the right csc file on your phone for your provider (so you can have all features which comes with your provider (like wifi calling)).
You may ask yourself now, where can this be flashed on? Basically on every stock based rom, as well as on stock roms (who are rooted of course). So: root and a recovery (custom) are required!
Your current country is not listed below? Send me your stock csc file from sammobile.com (SM-N950F variant) and I will add it!
NOTE TO ALL DEVS: You are free to grab any csc you want from this zip, as long as proper credits are given and a link to this thread exist in your OP.
Features:
- Can be chosen in the aroma installer
Following countries are supported:

Really? Already complaining? Maybe it's not inside because no one cared yet to send it to me?
Sent from my SM-N950FD powered by IronMan
Quick question bro, I am on UK Vodafone and i have WiFi calling setup and Volte activated on my account. But flashing the VOD CSC I still don't get the WiFi calling option. However, I have the toggle but it's half turned on lol. Hope you know what I mean. So it's not totally off (grey) but not totally on either (very feint blue). Now I know at one point I had texted Vodafone a code where supposedly they activate or push down WiFi calling settings.....any ideas or suggestions on this?
Once again, thanks for taking time out to give us this.
PS: As it stands, I have again texted Vodafone "calling" and awaiting a response from them.

Good to see you around! Your ROM is why I bought an S8+. Been waiting for your ROM before I even think off picking up a Note 8. In regards to Samsung encrypting CSC's. Any specific reason they did that ? It's been one of my favorite ways lately to get app lock and toggles in quick settings. Appreciate any insight. Thanks again.
Is it necessary for me to update the link and post it here if the csc upgrade or firmware upgrade for my country is available despite I posted the initial version?

Thanks for your feedback, appreciate that you're counting on me!
About the encryption: I guess that's exact the reason, they don't want people to get all their csc features on any rom that's why they encrypt it
