Hi guys here's my Review of the New TRONFY MXIV TV box
I got the box from Mod Edit: Selling site link removed.
I think this has to be the best Android Tv box iv played with to date.
It took only 5 days to arrive to the UK from china via DHL with no customs to pay (i
was lucky)
Quick facts
The S812 device is more or less the same as the S802 but adding H.265/HEVC video
decoding up to 4K
It comes with 16GB of rom Witch is a nice size for an android tv box plenty
of room for all your apps, games & still lots of room left over.
It has 2 full sized usb ports,1 otg port,micro sd card slot,AV,ethernet,HDMI out,SPDIF & the power port.
Oh & not forgetting the secret recovery button in the AV hole.
Ps3 controller works fine using the sixaxis app.
But you must use version 0.8.0 or above or you will get a segmentation fault.
Games iv tested so far are Beach buggy blitz & Asphalt 8 both run perfect & also load very
fast

As you can see in the photos theres a nice heat sink & the PCB bored is made by
NEXTRON.
The TRONFY MXIV is a small sized tv box but its not lacking anything It has the power
button on the top so no reaching around the back to turn it off & on, There's plenty of
ventilation holes on the bottom of the box to help with the cooling.
The box comes pre rooted & is running android kitkat 4.4 With a few useful apps
installed, app draw screen shot below iv only installed one app the rest are what it
came with.

The firmware on this box is very good nice & quick & everything works as it should
The boot time on the New TRONFY IV is between 36 & 45 seconds to complete
Shut down time is 4 seconds
Antutu Score of 43222
USB logitec c270 webcam works fine
External Samsung hard drive of 1TB works fine powered by the TRONFY
It comes pre installed with kodi 14.2 & superrepo, The box has played every video iv
thrown at it without any lag stutter even 4k play fine.
I then tested it with Antutu video tester 3 & that played all 30 video formats perfect with
no errors & gave me a score of 1108
HDMI CEC works great i love being able to control the box with my normal tv
remote this is a great touch.

E-share is an app for synchronous operation. Your smart phone becomes a remote controller via this app. It has a dedicated operating interface. Almost 0 lags between your phone and tv.

eshare is a bit like miracast. download an app for your phone and you can share the screen to your tvbox, music, video etc
works fine on my Tronfy MX-IV togther with Huawei Honor 6+.

i like eshare on the Tronfy better. the app is more versatile than miracast
but that could as be because of my phone.

I think firmwares will compatible with Beelink S82Plus. The same specs.

I'm also interested to find out when a manufacturer Lollipop firmware release will be happening, as I'm eager to install the Play Store for TV apk I have (it's 5.x only).

Hi there, I bought the Tronfy mx4 media player about 6 months ago on amazon. It came with kit kat 4.4.2 installed. Now I'm reading that there's a lollipop update?? And Telos gb ethernet?? Can someone please tell me where I and how I can get these updates?

Hi there.the lollipop rom is for the Tronfy Telos not the tronfy mx4.Your not missing much anyway as there's lots of bugs in the lollipop rom's at the moment.

Hi everybody, I've bought the MXIV to use it with my old crt tv. Unfortunately no video signal pass through the AV port. Have anybody an idea how to configure this port or do you think my tvbox is defective? thank you in advance.

I bought the original MX4 in 2015. Seeing it had the ota built in I thought this box would receive ota updates. Bit it doesn't, the newer telos MX4 by Tronfy does get ota updates as the Tronfy customer support person's email described. It also comes with lollipop which I think is just a kit kat launcher version of lollipop. It comes with gb Ethernet also. Bit according to Tronfy customer support they are two totally different boxes. Customer support told me not to try to upgrade to the telos version as it could brick the box. I think they gave up support for the old MX4 and there are no updates for it now or in the near future. Which sucks ass as that is one of the reasons I decided to get it. Don't get me wrong I love the box but the last update and firmware is from may 2015. If anyone knows of any good custom OS for it. Please share, also if a custom recovery can be installed like twrp. That is my only disappointment about Tronfy and the MX4. How they just gave up support on it and came out with a newer version of it with the same name that does have ota updates according to customer service.

If anyone knows of a custom OS for the original Tronfy MX4(NOT THE TELOS VERSION) Please share. As I was told by Tronfy that the Telos version is not compatible with the original version. Tronfy also told me they have no plans to update the original mx4. Thank you
