[Q] Should Google Play services be greenified? - Greenify

Google Play services start constantly, is greenifying safe? I don't use the app auto-update feature, but account syncing (contacts) is important. I won't remove the wake-up path yet.
I also greenified Google Play Store.

I was unable to make in-app purchases (I had to degreenify), so some issues appear.

It's useless, there are many wakelocks attached to it, when you try to cut it, Google play force close

Use app called disable services from play store.
And turn off Google services
Press thanx if i helped you in anyway...
This would break google services right? So no more sync gmail and such?
No I m using it for a very long time and it doesn't affect any functionality for Gmail or play store.
Don't know about Google now.
If you use that just check after you disable a particular service.
Don't disable network location and fused location service they are needed for maps to work.

Disabling a critical service can have negative impact. I would recommend Greenify donation package for this since it only hibernates the service and it can start when needed. You will need xposed for Greenify's experimental feature to work

I don't know if this is related but I tried that app to disable services and disabled all the services in google play services.
Gmail and others didn't work, so I enabled them again just like it was before, but now I'm getting a "can't sync contacts" problem in the google account sync panel in preferences...
Seems only contacts is having problems when syncing. Everything else syncs perfectly.
What should I do?
I tried deleting my google account and then adding it again, but no luck.

[Q] Google play services crashing when i sign in to my google account. [lollipop]

For a while now, I've been having a problem with google services where hangouts doesn't work. To try to fix this, i signed out of my google account and tried to sign in again. But after i write my email and password, it closes, and it says that google play services has stopped working. I can now no longer use gmail, youtube, hangouts or any app i signed in with google for that matter. Aside from doing a factory reset, is there any way i can stop google play services from crashing when i sign in?

I had this kind of problem some time ago, i fixed it by uninstalling all play services updates (so only stock playservices remain) and then manually updated to the latest version (should be this one now http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...ices-7-5-69-1954844-438-android-apk-download/ ). Worked for me at the time.

[[help]] playstore problem on gts5282.Something that drive me crazy.

edit : solved
The answer is not all devices get regular updates from their OEMs so Google integrates their APIs through play services app and updates it regularly. Many apps use Google Api and Gcm for Push Notifications so they require Google services to be installed

oneplus 3 - greenify google apps

Hi guys,
I have a rooted oneplus 3 with greenify working in root mode. For some reason greenify will not have the option to greenify any apps made by google such as google drive, google photos, google keep, google music, youtube, etc. They are not even system apps, some aren't even stock apps. Does anyone know why and if there's a solution to this? Thanks.
I think my previous samsung galaxy note 3 greenify was able to greenify "some" of the google apps.

You have to have Greenify paid version and Xposed and enable greenifying system apps in Settings. Plus Greenify has to be enabled in Device Administrators and Accessibility in phone Settings.
What happens when you choose such apps for hibernation? Do you get any message?

Therein lies the problem. These apps don't even show up in the list when I try to choose an app for hibernation. Google Drive, Google music, Google photos, YouTube, they don't appear anywhere for selection.

Probably obvious (sorry) but you have ticked 'show all's under the overflow
(3-dot) menu in 'apps analyzer'? Believe your previous posts indicated paid version with appropriate Xposed based features enabled. Both are needed to expose Google apps on most systems (ie: when installed as system apps).

Filtering Google Play apps by permissions

I am generally concerned about privacy.
Along these lines...
Is there any tool, websibte, app, etc., that allows for filtering Google Play Store apps by either excluded or included permissions?
The option of filtering different app versions is a plus, as permissions may change across versions.
I found a few, limited alternatives.
What do you mean with Google Play apps? GMS? Google Play services? Google Play Store apps?
