In settings / Applications / All, disable musicfx and soundenhancements, and viper will work

Google is your friend.
You have to change few settings in the phone, do some other stuff and Viper will work.
Take a look at the nexus guide about that.

No need to do that.
Just enable compatibility mode in Viper4Android.

Yeah, need to enable compatibility mode to work. But sometimes in compatibility mode, viper4android still refuses to load, in this case to ensure viper4android is loaded at all times, you need to disable musicfx and sound enhancement.
This will always guarantee viper4android to work as the only sound fx available.

Working well for me, I don't have problem. I used it on normal mode, not compatibility mode, that's how I like it.
I only raised this because of the person who made this thread.
If you have the instructions then give to him, that's what he's asking for.
Note that the environment may vary a bit depending on which modes he has flashed before, so what worked out for you might not necessarily work for another because of this. So the user has to try all possible available options and see which works out for them.
As you can see below, working well since day one.

Well. That's true. Once the Viper didn't want to work for me, no matter what I did. After I wiped all the data it worked. That's the best part in morning, nothing is easy.
However it seems like the author of this thread isn't interested anymore. Maybe he has googled for it already.

But that is not good enough, at xda when you raise a problem and got answer you should come back and indicate so that others with similar issues can also benefit from your solution.

I was in hurry... Just said that if he/she interested.. But as u can see not no more. Any way my way was add these line to build.prob.
Viper4Android
tunnel.decode=false
lpa.use-stagefright=false
lpa.releaselock=false
lpa.decode=false
add Viper4Android in system/priv app set premssion 644
Restart then install driver.. Thats it

[MOD][XPOSED][4.0+]AutoInstaller - No confirmation in PackageInstaller

This mod allows you to install an APK just by opening it (from file manager or any other app)
It provides a UI to allow you to disable this feature without disabling the module
You should only enable when using it to prevent accidentally installing viruses while on dodgy websites/apps etc
You can find the module attached or on the Xposed Repository
Planned Features
-Auto uninstall
-Automatically close installer window after installation completed
thanks to @pyler for fixing an issue with apps which have a lot of permissions
Note the module is disabled by default, not only do you need to enable in Xposed Installer (obviously) but you need to enable the module by launching it's UI
Source code on Github
Demo Video
Thanks mate for making this effort to prepare this module, really.
Just some issues,
The next automatically bypasses which is good, but still we have to click install and also after getting installed we still have to click on done/install to close the installer.
It will be great if we just click the apk file and the installation takes places in the background without bothering and a toast appears that the app has been installed.
Is it possible to modify this module as above.
But genuinely I appreciate your effort bro.

You only have that problem because the app has too many permissions
Try with an app that doesn't have so many

I tried with a few permission app but still I have to click install and then done.
I am requesting a feature inspired from nova launcher where I just long click an app and drag it to uninstall layout and it get uninstalled automatically in the background and displays a toast that the app has been uninstalled.

Have you seen my source code for this mod?
Its only one page and only 10 lines or so
I'm thinking of using the same method with the "done" button

As soon as I tick 'enable' and leave and reopen the app, the tick is gone.
And it doesn't work on my phone. =/
Have you thought about adding a timer to the "enable" box? (eg: enable for 10/20/30 minutes then auto-disable)
Might help out in cases where people forget to disable after using and then end up getting force-fed an APK from an ad online or something.

TV Boot (Reboot and Shutdown App)

One of the things that I found lacking with my Nexus Player was the ability to reboot straight from within Android. As such, I decided to write a small app which allows me to do just this. I have also added some other small features, such as Reboot to recovery, Reboot to bootloader and Shutdown. I hope that you find my app useful and I look forward to any feedback.

I'm assuming that this App Requires Root?
Cheers Rob.
Yes, sadly that is the only way I found to reboot.
It'll be nice to add icons on buttons.
Anyway I'll give it 5 stars :good:

Didn't know that as I am yet to flash 5.1. However the added features such as reboot to recovery as well as the fact that it's faster than going through the settings should set it apart.

No doubt this is a more elegant solution. I installed the app and will be using it, thank you! It was rather fyi.
It would nice if there was kinda "Sleep" button (not sure if it's actually possible, but I think it should be).
And, also, how about "kill all background tasks"?
+1 for the sleep part. I don't think mine ever goes to sleep

I'll look into it however I doubt that I will add an option to kill background tasks as I believe that Android does a good job by itself and closing the apps manually does more harm than good.
task kill is not necessary since Android 4.0, but I will echo the request for Sleep. It would be nice to make it Sleep just like any other Android phone.

[MM] Settings Injector

I apologize for the lack of links, but I'm a new user so XDA won't let me post them.
Injects Xposed module preferences into (close-to) stock Settings app.
Works on Lollipop and Marshmallow Devices running AOSP or Cyanogenmod (untested on N, probably broken)

Yeah I had the same issue, I made my house and my pebble watch trusted in smart lock, so it keeps the lock screen off most of the time. But honestly, it always seems when in deep sleep it takes a few taps to wake it up, so I usually end up hitting the power button anyway.
well its not a secret any more
It was just left over code from other devices.
DT2W is not a secret, and it's been known about for a while now. You don't need an app, or a kernel to activate it. You can just simply run a script to activate it, and have it survive a reboot...that's what I do.
Also, as someone mentioned, it does not work that great (it's almost frustrating at times if you ever owned a G2, G3, or G4). It was implemented a lot better on the LG G2, G3, and G4...I'm assuming DT2W wasn't activated as an option, at least partially, on the N6P because it doesn't function all that well.

The reason why it works so well on lg devices is because the code is built into the touch firmware of their devices.

I'm sorry to hear your having issues. When I installed the referenced busy box, I installed it to /su/bin, I'm not sure why yours did not. If you look at the screen shot from the link, it shows /system/ but that can be changed. My Pay works with no issue. I would try reflashing your rom if custom or system.img if not to clean up the issue. good luck.

This is a ViPER4Android 2.5.0.5 TWRP recovery Installation zip designed specifically for the Honor 8 device.
The ViPER4Android 2.5.0.5 apk will be installed to /system/priv-app/ViPER4Android and the driver will be preinstalled via the /system/lib/soundfx library and the appropriate entries into both audio_effects.conf files in /system/etc and /system/vendor/etc.
This is labeled "for Honor 8" because of the stock Honor 8 audio_effects.conf files being used in this recovery Installation zip so that I could have control of ViPER4Android in the effects chain.
Enforcing Selinux functionality requires SuperSU as the root management app for the /system/su.d/soundserver script to execute.
Simply flash and reboot. :good:

Fantastic! Please know it's a pleasure to have you testing this for me and the Honor 8 owners! :highfive:
Hmm now I actually have a reason to root my Honor 8. The sound out-of-box leaves much to be desired.
Have installed it now, and it just works. Thank you for making it as easy to install as it is.
Guys, I've never used viper4android, can you share your experience?!
Am I the only one who doesn't hear a noticeable difference in sound? With Honor 7 there was a big difference.

We're talking headphone audio, the bottom speaker still sounds Meh compared to my moto x style.
With my superlux 661 was thrilled to use it all of last night listening to live concerts from in flames, Phil colins, thin lizzy and lynyrd skynyrd, I was really enjoying my self, the missus not so much HA!

Your feedback is much appreciated, thanks

The audio_effects configs are likely the same as the Honor 8, but you can be the first tester of ARISE Sound Systems™ Deuteronomy™ 1.1. I made a ton of changes to properly handle Qualcomm™ and non-Qualcomm™ devices. :good:

It should work
I was thinking about this phone but seeing that it was a hassle to unlock bootloader and root pushed me away...
I searched Viper and found this and gives me reason to seriously consider. I MISS VIPER. Did not have it on S7 Edge and seems buggy on my secondary phone BLU R1 HD... I miss Viper! I may just get this phone now!

Root and BL unlock are super easy on this phone...but the ROM dev is virtually non-existent. Still, a great phone for the time being for me anyway.
@guitardedhero there is a big difference between this mod and ARISE?

I try ARISE but I prefere stock Huawei music player. How to unistall It? I try with Solid browser but the app still appear in app string and the icon is in my home screen.
The problem is that the New music player rename Viper4Android to Viper4arise and stock player don't sound anymore.
Try to unistall the player and Viper4arise folder don't work. I had to restored a backup to have a working music player.
Another solution for futures issues??
Anyway, viper4android works great, makes honor 8 sound wonderful
