Hello,
Is anyone else having this issue? Like touch screen doesnt respond very well at the top left corner (^<), im running on 5.0.2 lollipop. You can inspect this by slowly swiping the navigation bar at the top left corner or while playing a game (buttons wont function)...
Best regards,
James

its working fine here on 850f running lollipop. ive tried many times real slow n fast. But i cant say anything about screen not working during games cuz i have no games on my phone.

I am facing the same problem from 1month.
I have replaced Screen (previously Display was broken and i had replaced)
Previous one had same problem ( Top left ) , before i went to Service centre , i droped my phone and its display was broken , i have replaced display around 4months ago , and now from 1month i am facing the same problem again ,
When i Swipe notification panel from very Left side , at 40% times , it doesn't drop down , it goes upwards ,
I have faced in Six guns game , Moving button isnot working properly sometimes , than i have to lock the screen , and unllock the phone again , after that touch starts working normally , again It stops again i lock the screen and so on.........
So is this common problem with most of the Alpha's screen ?

Same issue here... bought 2 months ago with Lollipop 5.0.2 already installed. Very annoying with games!!
By the contrary, I also noticed extremely high sensitivity over the screen: I don't even need to touch the screen to press buttons, simply approach finger by half centimeter it is enough. I don't know if it's something expected, but I didn't noticed this with my former Galaxy S.

Its a very strange thing , touch fixed it self and its working fine again since 15 days , i think its software problem

it happened with me too , i'm running 4.4.4 stock , i wasn't able to tap on the wifi button on the top left , enabled the "show touches and show pointer location " on developer options and found that the top left corner is not working , strangely i restarted the device and its all working again so i think its a software problem , also i'm suspecting its related to using a screen protector , didnt try further tho

It seems it's not software related, issues are confirmed both with Kitkat and Lollipop.

It's strange because on my alpha i haven't notice any issue about the touch screen.

Please, can you do this simple test to analyse the overall screen sensitivity?
On 'Settings' go to 'General' tab.
Then roll down to 'Developer Options'.
Activate "Show touches" and "Show pointer location" - it will show the touch interactions on screen (it looks like scratches but don't worry they are just drawings).
Then slide your finger over the screen surface and notice if the track is marked in all areas. Especially in the upper left corner. If you notice a fault on the track in this spot it means the screen has a 'dead' sensitivity area.

I found there is a more simple way to run several test on our device (and also available in other Samsung models): type on the telephone keypad *#0*#
As I reported previously, my screen was touch insensitive on the upper left side. Everyone can check this running the 'Touch' test.
My screen module was replaced under warranty and it seems fine now.

odd issue with the keyboard on S2

I have a galaxy s2 running ICS (but the issue occurred) and I have a very odd issue with the keyboard that I am hoping someone could help me with. I have searched around but did not find anything already posted.
A short while ago, my screen broke and I had it replaced, good as new. Well almost. When ever I use the messaging app, or another type of app like that (Whats App for example), when you are composing a new message, and the textbox is shrunk down to one line at the bottom of the screen, there appears to be no input detected on that part of the screen, the send button (on the right hand side) works, and the other controls all work fine, just not the textbox.
So I figured that when the screen broke, it messed up that part of the screen, but other apps that have controls in that region (such as the camera app that has the photo button, or the lock screen with the emergency call button) all work 100%.
Its just textboxes at the bottom of the screen that do not seem to accept touch events. VERY odd.
Has anyone seen this before or know of a few tests/checks I can do. I am a new-ish user to Android.

This really sounds anoying but i know several issues quiet close to yours.
For instance sometimes on my sgs+ one side of the screen....in many cases the top side does not recognize any touching by me...
after loocking and afterwards aunlocking the phone everythings allright again...
i would suggest you to try to install a thirdparty keyboard from the play store.
if this doenstn work.....well maybee try another rom but i would send it to samsung to get a new phone...cus errors caused by wrong placed hardware are always comming back
fare well my friend

[Q] Double tap to wake screen

Is "double tap to wake screen" available for Z2? This post [*1] says it's included in 4.4. My Z2 is with 4.4.2, but I can't find the setting to turn it on.

i find the double tap so frustrating ! i would say 9 times out of ten i cant get the screen to wake using this ! and it don't seem to matter where on the screen i tap or how hard , it just isn't very responsive. i use the button on the side now !

Same here. Hopefully there will be a customized rom that can configure that double tap sensitivity level. The current range is too narrow, you can't tap too fast or too slow. So I usually just keep tapping 3-5 times until the screen unlocks. I use the button more often too.
Hmm that's weird. It almost always works the first time for me. I don't even tap hard. Do you tap fast enough?
Probably not fast enough. If I hold the phone with just one hand, usually my thumb is not fast enough.
It does not matter how fast or hard you tap the screen. It almost never works here. Can anyone confirm if this can be fixed with a hard reset?
I've just toyed around with this tap to wake and I've noticed some things about how it works.
You have to tap in the same place (you can't tap in corner and then then the other corner) and the distance seems to have only half an finger width margin of erorr, you have to use a small area to tap, so you cant tap with your whole thumb for example, it works best with just a finger tip. It doesn't matter how hard you tap but timing is important and it's roughly the same speed as a typical double click on a mouse (the faster the double tap the better).
Using this method to wake the phone is pretty redundant I think, I prefer to use the power button.
Anyway hope this helps.
Personally I've had no problems with double tap to wake. You just have to remember to tap in exactly the same place, and at a moderate rate. If you tap too fast, it doesn't pick it up.
I do love the feature though. I use it to wake my phone up probably 80% of the time, especially when it's sitting flat on a desk. So much more convenient than hitting the power button.
i tap with my index finger in fairly rapid succession normally in the middle of the screen .. but as i have said before i find it works far less than it should ! if the phone is laying down on a hard surface it will work more often , but if i hold in one hand and tap with the other, it seems to fail .
double tapping
Read most of these replies and i had the same issue regardless if i tap in the same spot, speed etc.
Anyways even though i dont wear gloves, i had this option ticked which affected the sensitivity of the screen. Once i unticked this option, the double tapping works 100% regardless of where on the screen i tap etc. you just need to tap consecutively close not seconds apart and mine never fails.
Hope this helps....
I noticed that also, but the circle that appears when you are close to the screen drives me nuts, so I turned it off. Instead I tap 3 times. That seems to do the trick.
Hi guys! I ran into the same problem , and I hope my post will help someone. You 've probably noticed that a double tap works in virtually 100 % of cases, if the phone is lying on a flat surface and does not move. So the trick is to keep your phone in a stationary while you're tapping . If you have small hands ( like I have ) , I recommend to keep the phone so that the lower left corner of the phone rested in the palm of your hand, and so the phone will not move. Pressing force and velocity values are not actually important. Sorry for my English and I hope somebody will find this information useful

Touch Screen Issues (incorrect keypresses)

Hi all, i received my Verizon Galaxy Edge on friday and the phone is perfect, but i'm having a issue. I've looked everywhere to see if others are having the same issue as me but nothing, zip, nada.
The issue im having is with the touch screen, lets just say i'm texting, i normally keep my left thumb near the volume down button, kinda touching the edge screen but not really much, well im texting and sometimes i dont have to be pressing the keyboard, but its the issue with the left edge screen, it's making it press in the center where my thumb would be. i've turned on to show my input presses and all that and its confirmed the center of the screen touch input when i'm only touching the edge. any help or issues? does this sound more of a hardware defect or a software defect?
This is weird. I'm kinda having the same problem, but not "frequently". I wonder if other people do. I think it has to do with our palm/fingers accidentally for a short period of time so it registers as a touch, then if you were already touching somewhere else then it'd mess up and register the touch in a random place, but I'm not sure. For me it isn't in the centre but it's annoying when it happens.
Well its not all the time dead center, but yeah its annoying. We might have same issue
an update, today i was typing on facebook and i noticed my right thumb was kind of near the L key but it was recognizing presses with my other hand without touching the screen (heat presses) tried to get the video but it went back to normal 5 seconds after the video, will record when it happens again.
Hello,
For touch screen problem try this:
-in dialer type *#2663#
-TSP firmware update (general)
You should see "PASS"
That have solve my touch screen problem...

Unresponsive touch screen.

Got it quite a few times now. I cant knock on, second screen wont scroll. Turn screen on cant unlock. Have to toggle on and off a few times or just leave it alone for a while and try again.. It doesnt respond to touches at all. Anyone else?
It's happened to me a few times as well, usually when my alarm is going off so it's doubly annoying because i can't hit snooze. I usually end up pulling the battery out for a second, but I really hope they're working on a fix for this.
I just noticed this problem today as well.
I have the AT&T model.
The top left corner of the screen (right below the double cameras) was not responsive at all until I restarted the phone.
Not sure what caused this issue.
The top left off The screen has been unresponsive a number of times. A restart works for a few hours. Then it stops working again...

I'm having an issue with the touch screen in the corners. Top left and bottom right are unresponsive at times, rendering the backspace button on my keyboard useless from time to time, and also won't let me start chrome from my home screen (my rightmost icon in the bottom row). On the top left, it prevents me from hitting the back button in gmail and other apps. Super annoying.
I didn't see any articles about it or find the unresponsiveness noted in any other reviews, have had the phone about 2 months now. I'm also not sure if recalibrating the screen would help since that is not in the default settings (maybe it is In the hidden menu?)
I have the T-Mobile V10.
Are any of you guys using Nova Launcher?
This started happening to me as well. I thought it was an issue with giving Nova Launcher root permission however the issue came back. There is a thread on the reddit as well with people having the same issue. I've been in contact with T-Mobile as well as LG. I'll update if I find anything else.
Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
Could we include carrier and what launcher, even if it's stock.
I ask because there's got to be a common denominator and I'm guessing it's going to be a combo - and with more info we'll be able to figure out the issue.
It can only help.
I just had this for the first time and only once during typing in whatsapp. I'm using a whatsapp mod.
which i believe is the cause for mine. i had to click the power button and then turn it on again to work, after that no problem anymore.
Same problem. I have the Verizon lg v10 stock. The left too corner under the cameras goes dead and won't respond until I reboot. After reboot all is fine for a few hours, then boom, it happens again.
I thought it was an issue with just my phone cuz I couldn't find anything about it, went to Verizon for the 14 day worry free guarantee, got a brand new one out of the wrapper, all was fine for a day, then same issue.
Same issue here. The upper left corner of my screen will become unresponsive at times and the only thing to fix it is a reboot. I have AT&T stock V10.
Not just an LG issue.
I have a ZTE ZMAX. In the last few days it is doing the same thing. The dead spot in the top left follows the rotation of the screen. I have done a factory reset and problem returned. Seems like its a problem for many phones. It happens with the original launcher and Zeam launcher as well. It would be great if someone figured this out.
I have the same issue with my verizon v10, i have not found out the cause but i did find something that works for me. I reset my app preferences in application manager and everything went back to normal and no issues since. Hope this helps
@jstringn1 thanks for the info I'll try it out.
Honestly it's sounding like and android issue.
Hopefully Google addresses it soon.
SAME. Just bought the V10 on Sunday and I've already noticed the same thing; the upper left hand side of the screen is unresponsive. It seems to ONLY be for certain things though. Stupidly I rebooted to fix it before I fully tested that theory, but I think it's only with certain things. For example, when I open GoogleMaps, I can't hit the "Menu" button in the top right hand side. But if I close the app and go to a screen where I have an App in that same corner, tapping on it seems to open it right up. I hope that info helps to troubleshoot....because I'm ready to take this phone back....but not before I post my review on my YouTube channel.
@jstring I just tried your suggestions. Seems to be ok thus far, but I'll check back in with you all later to let you know if the issue has come back. Because a reboot fixes too...but only temporarily. We'll see.

Did you go to Settings -> Device -> Apps -> Downloaded -> More Options (three dots) -> Reset app preferences?
If so, I tried this , but the top left corner of the screen is still unresponsive.
I also completed reset my phone to factory. No Nova launcher or anything else.
Really puzzled here.....
New findings:
Every time when I open the LG music app (the purple one that came preinstalled), it will trigger the issue. (Please try this on your phone and post your findings )
same issue here
the bttom right is not responsive
and i need to restart it every now and then
i am using it without any mods
but
any one would relate this issue with the latest update as as far as i remeber it showed only after the software update
my software version is
V10 ame xx
I think it started happening after I got the AT&T update. Didn't think it was related, since Verizon V10 has the issues too.
Same here

Weird issue: Three dots showing on screen

Hey everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out.
I just bought this phone used and I'm noticing a weird issue in Android
There are 3 dots near the top of the display that I can see flashing.
I've tried doing a reset to see if this works, but it doesn't.
These dots ONLY show up after Android is initialized. On the same screen during the reset process, you can't see them. I've included a couple of videos showing what I'm talking about
First video shows the phone after a factory reset
Second video shows the boot screen after a restart from Android
Third video shows it during normal app usage in Android
Fourth video shows the recovery menu to ensure Android hasn't loaded

Those are the proximity sensors.
The bad news is that you need to tell Motorola to replace your phone.
I'm not sure what the good news is here.
I have the three dots too, just purchased 5 days ago. It's just the proximity sensors. I know it's kinda annoying, but they only flash occasionally and it's not easy to see unless you're in darkness or doing something to trigger them. I'm choosing to ignore them -- seems all of the moto edge phones do this, really doesn't bother me and I can't be bothered returning the phone when the screen seems to be working OK.

Yes we have a common problem, but the three dots flashing on the screen are supposed to be sensors, and I wonder what kind of sensor it is
Yes those 3 dots worried me te first day I noticed them but I just tested the proximity sensor and they are under the screen so is not a issue.. but I have a question.. did you guys experienced a battery drain in stand by?
