NOTE :
* Only for Stock ROM.
* ES File Explorer or any other Root Explorer.
* Root access necessary.
Procedure :
* Open ES File Explorer and click on the options menu.
* Open the ' tools ' menu and enable ' Root Explorer '.
* Navigate to /system/Priv-app and copy the Stock SystemUI.apk to your SD Card.
* Rename the mod apk as SystemUI.apk and paste it inside /system/Priv-app.
* Reboot !

wrongly applied for micromax canvas Q380
i tried the systemUI.mod.apk on my micromax canvas Q380 model ...
then something gone wrong ..when the phone started i cant drag down the notification barr,i.e i cant see the bar can u please help me with any solution ..

There's a simple solutuon to this problem. The developer has probably wrongly told the method. Systemui.apk needs to be installed as a system app. Not just copy pasted.
Here's what you can do to restore your status bar..
1. Copy systemui.apk (mod apk or original..)
2. Paste into system-->apps
3. Select the systemui.apk, press n hold and go to properties
4. Permissions - - > change
5. All three checks under read.
User/owner only check under write.
No checks under execute.
6. Ok
7. Reboot.
It will be restored back. Good luck.

Please check the thread correctly before replying to anyone,The Thread clearly states that the mod is ONLY for A350 and the developer has no responsibility regarding if someone tried on another device,and that guy told that he tried on some other canvas series and that too all different from this device,how is the mod supposed to work?
And how can you say that developer wrongly told it?

mr ak.. "dude".. i have a350, and faced a similar problem. when this thread mentioned copy pasting, the app got corrupted and system ui was unable to install.
i am not blaming the developer, simply mentioning the solution to problem of an individual, which got no support from elsewhere.
'have some brains'.. its time you need to have some.. you may be a senior member, but that doesnt make others rookies.

Call yourself a snr member of xda.. Dont know what solution you could give to a guy to help save his device.. Dev quoted to save original systemui.apk.. And you can't understand the possibility of installing it as a system file.. Whatever maybe the device..

Just click "/" which is present before internal storage in path section bar.See the attached screenshot for more reference.

Down in its settings you will find two options: one to browse as root and another to mount the /system to read/write.

Open es file exlorer- go to settings - check on- upto root, root exlorer n mount file system...then come back n hit up folder. Now go to system folder, in that, etc folder name find the file named gps. conf....delete it!

Check the options "Root Explorer" and "Mount File System". Then click the "Favorites" on the top bar, select "/", navigate to /system/etc/, find gps.conf and delete it.

i did reboot opened google maps and it showed exactly where i was. And the problem that bothered me was me keeping gps turned off all the time only to find that it would turn itself on which I do not like. I want to disable it permanently because I don't think its nessecary for basic phone and web service. I dont feel that my movements should be tracked for any reason it's just weird! If I am correct the phone service is done through the wireless connection not gps?

Problem solved and closed! The original instructions are correct & results are as originally claimed in first reply to the op. For some reason it didn't delete properly the first time,I fixed this by restoring my backup & re-attempting. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED

I have a theme that I would like to share with HTC amaze community but every zip format & signed it say installation aborted. On my own phone any help would be appreciated. Theme includes systemui, frameworkres, & fusion. I tried the zipsigned apk from the market but no luck. How can I make an themed signed zip ?
Inbox me the folders that you want the zip to install to and I'll send you a zip file with the folders and scrips and instructions to add your files to it.

I'll give you a zip that's gonna install everything you have placed in the systems folder, that will includes things that go into the app/data/framework folders, etc, okay? To not lose the signature, you'll open the file with winrar and drop n' drop your sub-folders into their respective places, you can keep the script/empty zip for future use.

Ok I downloaded it. U swapped the apks & flashed it to my phone & it worked there's just one thing I have to rechange then it'll be ready but now the next thing is to upload the theme should I use drop box and register or something else?

I did see the tread on how to add the WIFI button on here, but can you use root explorer to do this? Can you explain the steps if I can. I am rooted.

download the file from your phone in the thread above and "move to" system >app ... its a piece of cake. also dont forget to change permissions. rw r r ...your phone will either force close or reboot. dont panic. if its force closing just reboot it.

yeah just long press the file and chose "move to" it will ask if you want to replace the existing filt (make sure your file is named SystemUI.apk exactly) select ok/yes and it will do the rest. to change permissions long press the systemui.apk and go to properties. select change permissions and check the first 2 boxes in the first row and only the first box in the the other rows. then when you back out it will start the force close or reboot.
edit: when you select "move to" then navigate to the system>app folder and hit okay then youll be prompted to replace the existing file
also dont be sorry about asking questions. thats how you learn. i for one understand not wanting to bork your phone so, although i dont know a whole lot ill be glad to help anyway i can, you can PM me if you wish.

I was Trying to Mod \system\framework\android.policy.jar For Enabling Long Press Menu to Kill App
But while trying to replace the file using Solid Explorer my phone got Restarted
And ended up in Boot Loop :crying:
Lucky I Had a Nandroid Backup of 20th August.
Restoring Backup had fixed the Boot Loop
But I lost many of my mods
Its my fault
I Should have Created a Backup
Does anyone knows why replacing the file caused the Boot Loop ?
And if I'm not asking for too much Could anyone be kind enough to mod my android.policy.jar For Enabling Long Press Menu to Kill App ?

The problem was that you're editing an important file of android os. You can't edit that file when using phone ,you have to replace file through recovery and set correct permissions to file.
So you need to create an update.zip (I can do this if you're not in hurry)

But unfortunately Aroma File Manager was not Starting.
Because i forgot to rename it to "aromafm.zip"
last time when i updated it, its file name was "aromafm-1.90.zip".

When my phone got Auto restarted I understood that i had to replace that file in the Recovery...
I wish i knew that earlier.

Unfortunately, I found out you could fix the problem without losing data ,asking me how? I'll tell you(bad news ,yea?)
You could access recovery right?so you could do these to make your ROM back to life:
create nandroid backup from the unbootable ROM ,do wipes ,flash new ROM ,updating recovery(as you said dear laura) +make files ready to flash(move or what ever)
Then restore the defective ROM and flash file (android.policy.jar) ....
That's it, everything works again without losing any thing! Sorry if I made you sad again :banghead:
Plus ,are you sure "killing via back button" option doesn't existing in settings /developing (named as " stop app via long press back button ")???? Cause almost all of custom Roms have this feature.

The file manager can have any name. You just install it like any other zip.
From the recovery file manager, try replacing that jar again, and use the terminal included in the file manager(menu > terminal) to chmod the replaced jar file.

You get here the possibility to browse your phone with root access in a friendly GUI file browser, while being in recovery
You even now get a terminal emulator to run in recovery

You could access recovery right?so you could do these to make your ROM back to life:
create nandroid backup from the unbootable ROM ,do wipes ,flash new ROM ,updating recovery(as you said dear laura) +make files ready to flash(move or what ever)
Then restore the defective ROM and flash file (android.policy.jar) ....
That's it, everything works again without losing any thing! Sorry if I made you sad again :banghead:

Actually Omega Rom (Which i used) has this Feature....
But i have moded so much, now it doesnt even look like Omega rom.
I removed many of its features and Added many extra mods.
While doing so i had changed my android.policy.jar a couple of time.
by doing so i lost "Stop App via long press Menu button" feature

I Use PhilZ Touch Recovery
In PhilZ Touch Recovery i have to do the following steps for Aroma File Manager Support
Download Aroma File Manager from its Home Page
Get the 1.90 version and name the file aromafm.zip
Put the aromafm.zip in clockworkmod/aromafm/aromafm.zip in external or internal sdcards
In recovery, tap the Aroma File Manager menu or double tap any part of the screen outside menus
It will launch the file manager automatically
Double tap gesture linked to Aroma File Manager can be altered in the GUI Settings menu

I'm a user of sony device which recovery is included with kernel & its not easy to change it, and so I have to obey the KERNEL developer so no aroma till I change device

I have a Sony Xperia S & Sony Xperia Z
Both are Rooted + CWM + Running Cyanogenmod
I Had no Problem in Installing CWM in Both of them.

OMG , are you just kidding? I'd take a freefall from my window if this happened to me! Seriously this normally happens for me every two month I've copied a piece of data to dvds and pics are in my fb account , and games/apps can be redownloaded.I'm a kind of impassive!!!

since i flashed this sound mode my device sound system has been ruined
i made no backup before procceeding flashing the mod
(I'd confess the expression of the dev about a perior backup. I'd appreciate him/her efforts already...
Now sound on screen mirroring complately gone,headphones audio too low, earpiece has noise....
Please be kind enough to send me the original entire folders (containing the same files)
i just dont want to flash back to factory state .you know i'm kinda obsessive setting up my apps ,settings, xposed modules, customizations,deblaotwarings...

Anyway sorry. I dont have any backups
But I have installed dolby atmos on 3 devices and works perfectly. Because it boots your sound something twice or thrice for little big speakers.
If u want u can try that.
Hope u will find backups that u want.

Which mod did u flash the first one or the second one ?
If u still have root. Then install ES file explorer from playstore and go to this path given below:-
/system/etc
From there send me the 'mixer paths.xml' (only if its there then send)
Also 'audio effects.conf'
So that I can see if any changes are there. Just dont do anything else in those folder just copy it to sd card and then send me.

I saw both 1 and 2 of that mod. In second one which one did u use the loud or normal.
And when I checked them i saw a lot of changes happened in your phone of audio files, more than 13 file edited and some new files.
I just edited one of your file. Try replacing it with the one I uploaded
1. Open es file explorer
2 go to left top and tap on settings
3. Scroll down till the tab 'tools'
4. In tools tap the 'Root Explorer'
5. Give permission with superuser ( it wont come if u already have given permission). After giving permission copy the file i gave and paste it in the path below.
6. Go to the path /system/etc
7. Paste the file I uploaded and 'overwrite' the file.
8. Keep holding on that file untill tick mark appears on it(which you pasted just now)
9. Go to properties of that file. ( can be on top right)
10. Tap on change permission
11. Tick all in the first column, second column only the first one should be ticked.
12. Tap OK
13. Exit everything and restart your phone.
14. Test your audio with headsets and without them.

If still not fixed then I will give Dolby Atmos. Only way I know. It worksperfect. And I am asking are you using any other dolby. I just saw it it the file u gave.

Dont want to flash any custom roms , mods or boosts nor factory reset
Just want to revert back to original state...Z3 original sound is powerful enough

I did try em all, nothing fixed.
If i get the original files and over write the modded ones ,i'm damn sure it will fix the problem

I will tell you the steps to delete the new files created in your device.
1. Go to path /system/app using ES file explorer
2. Delete the folder 'sound enhancement'
3. Go to path /system/etc
4. From there delete the folder 'acdbdata' and 'sony effect' and also 'tfa98xx'
5. Go to path /system/lib/soundfx
6. Delete libsonysweffect
7. Reboot your phone
