[Q] Doubt about SOL24 - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Greetings, XDA members.
I have a Sony Xperia Z Ultra SOL24 model (japanese model of japanese AU KDDI). I was thinking to install a custom ROM (Cyanogenmod), but the bootloader is locked and it is impossible unlock it.
If I change the stock ROM to another stock ROM of other Z Ultra model, can I then unlock the bootloader? If yes, what is it the best stock ROM?
Thank you.

If it's impossible (bootloader unlock allowed: No), the only thing you can do is send it to Sony.
But I am not sure if you can install roms from c68xx models. Might results a brick.

As my SOL24 shows "Bootloader unlock allowed: No", then I will not install any ROMs.
Thank you for the help.

Unlocked bootloader?

Hi,
What exactly does a unlocked bootloader do except load custom kernels?
Does it mean that I can SIM-Unlock my two X10 Mini-phones?
If not, is there any cheap way to unlock the X10 Mini?
Cheers!
An unlocked bootloader only "allows" you to load fully customizable kernels and roms onto the phone. Devs can also port other OS and functions if needs be (theoretically). An unlock bootloader by itself does nothing. A dev will have to then make use of the unlocked bootloader
The x10 bootloader unlock method does not unlock network. You will need to do this separately
I believe also that there's a cheap way to unlock using Setools. Do a search via google to find different sites. Hopefully someone can provide a link to one that they know and trust.

You can remove the SIM lock with setools but I think you need an "unlock box" (equipment) for that. You can also just do it with cable and software from XperiaUnlocked for the Xperia x10 Mini

[Q] EU generic firmware?

Hello, I just bought a Z2 (D6503) that is never locked (SIM free), boot loader unlocked allowed YES but it has Vodafone firmware on it (Germany). Where do I get an EU generic firmware and how do I flash it?
Unfortunately Z2 is just released and there aren't any tutorials so that's why I'm asking you. Can I take the files from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666849 and use this tool: http://www.flashtool.net/download.php to do it? Do I need to unlock the boot loader first? I would rather not do it if possible (yet).
Thank you.

I used it in Sweden. No problem.
All of us with unlocked bootloaders have used it as it's the only way to unlock the bootloader
the way they tell you to unlock i didnt do but either way you need to go there to get your unlock code
i used flashtool, not adb oem unlock
It works in India too, I got my Unlocking code, Now I can flash Custom Roms without any error

"Currently, no models of Xperia M4 support unlocking the bootloader."

Hi, guys and girls. Recently I was trying to check if M4 has an option to unlock the bootloader. I have model E2333 dual-sim with 16 Gb. It is sim-free. I typed in dialer *#*#7378423#*#* and under Service Info>Configuration>Rooting Status got this: Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No..
After that I went to sony developers web page http://developer.sonym….com/unlockbootloader/. I guessed that maybe international model of M4 (E2303) could have bootloader unlock option, but there is no Xperia M4 in the list of the devices supported by this option.
Then I wrote a messege to sony developers. And here is our correspondence:
Me: Hello. Just was trying to unlock the bootloader in my new Xperia M4 Aqua. But the device is not listed in the list of devices supported by unlocking bootloader in http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/.
Will it be added soon, or, maybe, M4 is not going to get this function at all? And what models of M4 will get an abillity to unlock?
It is very important for me. Please, answer. Thanx a lot.
developer.world: Hi Alex,
If the device was not listed, then bootloader unlocking is not supported for the devices. It’s up to the operator to decide whether or not to allow unlocking of the bootloader. And the setting is pre-programmed into the firmware of the device before it goes to market. There is no way to enable bootloader unlocking after this.
Best regards, Developer World
Me: The problem is that my Xperia M4 is sim free... And the second one is that it is E2333, but E2303 is not listed there too.
developer.world Hi Alex,
Having the Sim card unlocked won’t enable unlocking of the bootloader. Currently, no models of Xperia M4 support unlocking the bootloader.
Best regards, Developer World.
That's it.
Due to written above, I ould like to check if it is true. So, please, could you make the following steps and post the result here?
1. Model number (E2303, E2312, E2333 etc.)
2. Type in dialer *#*#7378423#*#* and then go to Service Info>Configuration>Rooting Status and then look at Bootloader Unlock Allowed YES or NO.
3. In the same place in Service Info>Software Info>S1 Boot version check the version and write it here.
Thanx a lot.

Where did you buy your device? At an operator (like AT&T, T-Mobile etc.) or at an independent mobile phone shop?

Very interesting situation. No device at sony developers unlock bootloader page. At the same time, some of them are allowed to unlock and some are not. Any users with dual-sim versions like me, please?

Flash a stock rom if it's simlocked ?

Hello,
Can I flash a Sony stock rom if my Xperia Z2 is simlocked ?
Best regards
Remove Sim and factory reset first just to be safe is what I would do. But just to be clear, Sim for network and MEID or do you mean the SD ?

Hello,
It's simlocked for Virgin, I would flash the sony stock 5.1.1 Android version.

No you don't need to unlock your sim to flash roms. My phone is locked to vodafone and i've flashed a bunch of roms without any problem.
Just remember that simlocked phones usually have an unlockable bootloader, so you have to use stock based roms.
Thank you,
It's done,
BEST REGARDS
