[Q] CM12 on Note2 n7005LTE completely data lost after phone shutdown when power low - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running CM12 ( nightlies, forgot the version, but updated month ago ) on my Note2 N7005lte.
It happened when i running the game "plant vs zombie2" with low battery power. The phone auto shutdown when the power was low. When i try to turn it back on, it stuck on the samsung logo post screen for more then 10sec and then i reboot it again by removing the battery and turn it on again. This times the loading time is back to normal but it "optimizing app" while booting. Once it loaded completely, I found i lost all the data including accounts, photo , files ( i checked with file manager ) , sms and apps. just like did a factory reset.
Any idea why is this happened ? CM12 ? lollipop bugs ? or the game ...
Thanks.

[Q] GT-I9100 does no Boot

Hi guys,
so the main Problem is, my GT-I9100 does not Boot properly, or turns off pretty fast (it somehow does boot, but it turns off while booting).
I'll try to explain step by step what i did so far.
I had a Custom Cyanogenmod 9 Rom on my Phone and it worked for like half a year now (was too lazy to update).
And suddenly it wasn't able to boot anymore as described. I thought it was the Battery so i charged it for a few hours, but still couldn't boot.
After that i tried to start into CW Recovery, wiped Cache, Wiped Dalvik -> still same problem.
Then i just let the phone on on Recovery mode until the Battery was totally empty, recharged to 100% -> still same problem.
So i thought, the rom might got crushed howsoever -> installed Original Kernel with Odin BUT the problem still occured....
That's the point where i am right now.
The Phone starts, the "Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100"-Logo shows, the Boot-Logo shows up (Cyanogenmod logo showd up as well as now the Samsung Logo). On CM the Phone turned off while booting, now it always gets through the Samsung boot Logo, it initialized some apps (cause off Factory Reset) like 9/46 Apps then shuts down, after turning it on again it starts returning to initializing the apps now and again after a few initialized apps like 10/37 it shuts down again.
I kept on turning it on until all apps were initialized and now it tries to instal the initialized apps but shuts down after a short time again. And it is not able to instal a app in that short time, so i wont make any progress anymore with turning it on over and over again...
Don't really know whats wrong, already unplugged SIM. I thought about it being a Hardware Problem... But maybe it's not and you might know some way to fix it
I'll get my HTC One soon, delivery started yesterday, so it's not that much of a problem, but it's a shame 'cause i wanted to give my S2 to my brother

[Q] [HELP!] All Apps Crash, reboot, hang during loading

Hi Guys.
I'm at the end of my rope here ...
A few months back I updated my phone and my wife's phones to NC5, towelroot, TB freeze knox, etc. Both have been working great, until: last night my wife's phone crashed while playing music. Now it's stuck in some sort of strange "dies during startup" mode ...
When the phone is powered on, all the apps start crashing ("unfortunately, weather.com has crashed", "unfortunately, Google play services has stopped responding"). The phone freezes, and then reboots. It hangs at the Verizon loading screen, and I get lines of digital pixilated noise across the bottom. Hold power and the phone turns off; when you restart it, it loads up, and crashes as the OS loads (you get about 15 seconds where the phone is usable before it dies).
Notes: Xposed is not loaded on her phone. She's running NC5, stock. SD card has been removed.
Things I've tried:
Odin-flashing NC5 (no wipe) ... no change
Odin-flashing NC5 (full wipe) ... no change
Recovery - delete all user data and cache ... no change
Swapping her battery for mine ... no change
Power off, full charge overnight ... no change
Removed battery for 5 minutes before trying again ... no change.
Its now back fully at stock with no user data. It boots up into "Welcome to your new phone", but before you can even select "English" as the language, you get: "Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped." The phone hanges, then reboots and gets stuck at the Verizon splash. (Note: sometimes, it just hangs and doesn't reboot.)
Anyone ever seen this? Is it a HW problem, or is there something I can do?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] [Help Needed! !] Battery Drain and Logo On Boot Screen displays Android is upgra

I own a stock rom rooted note2 with Os 4.3 JB. Since few days battery is draining fastly, it is discharging when being charged but it doesn't discharge when the phone is switched off. Also, whenever I restart or power on android it starts with logo which says - " Android is upgrading.... Starting apps.... finishing boot...", this happens on every start up although android works after that but drains at very fast rate. This happened after flashing audio zip for increasing volume from this thread " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799537 ".
Please help! ! it has imp. data, and I have to recharge it again and again, avg battery capacity of note2 stands for 8 hrs but it just drains out within 2 ~ 4hrs on light usage. I did wipe out dalvik cache because of problem with super user which is working well right now( this fix I found on XDA). I went to recovery mode to find problem for the same I.e Android upgrading, there on clicking both reboot and shutdown ( once at a time), error poped out saying- " root possibly lost. Fix? ... no... .no... fix root (/system/xbin) etc., then after applying fix, the device rebooted and showed android upgrading ... finishing boot... then I went to root checker it said rooted and all the other root functions are working, but now battery is draining,(discharging even while charging), after switching to recovery mode and again rebooting, same root fix error repeats itself and Android is upgrading ... finishing boot .. logo is displayed. Could you please suggest any other way so that instead of doing factory reset I can revert back these errors without unrooting or factory resetting as I myself had thought of doing the same but it is not possible, even reloading rom cannot happen since I didn't save latest rom which I was supposed to do after eradicating earlier problem but now this error has occurred.
Thanks in advance.

Automatic soft (re)boot issue

My i9300 seems to have lost control on (soft?) boot:
- I flashed a 5.1 omni ROM that made me very happy because really stable enough for me to use multiple apps at same time.
- One week after, I started getting unwanted soft reboots (skips Samsung boot screen), leaving me approx 40s of system use before 5s freeze followed by reboot.
- These soft reboots are weird: if I force shutdown (power menu OR removing battery), the phone boots anyway, by itself!! And I think this is still soft boot because it still skips Samsung boot screen.
Additional info:
- I wondered if my power button was messed up but I don't think so: I would not have this freeze before reboot, plus I have no reboot while in recovery.
- I saw some SMS problems: received one from my provider, and I kept receiving it again at each reboot (same one 50+ times). Any link possible?
What I tried without success:
- Remove SIM and SD card
- Remove battery for a day
- Change battery
- Re-flash recovery
- Wipe System + Data + Dalvik/Cache then install paranoid android (now I can't even boot in anything else than recovery btw)
I'm lacking android system knowledge but it looks like there is a location in "soft reboot zone" that is locked, and the phone keeps reading it and rebooting infinitely. Is there a way to clean this? To forbid soft reboot maybe? Note that I've been flashing various roms for 3 years on this phone and I never saw anything alike.
Any advice is welcome, thank you for caring !

That SMS thing is strange
Have you tried another recovery version? Or perhaps changing recovery? This isn't a normal issue, since you already tried installing another ROM.... You can try another Kernel either
If none of this works, consider flashing the original Samsung's ROM or some samsung-based ROM (they usually do a nice clean-up, at least for me these ROMs fixes the majority of my problems)
@blint6:
1. Maybe the hardware though. This you can test by flashing actual firmware and running it under normal conditions for 1d.
2. Reboot is a known reaction to RAM-lack on LP, too. Flash Omni cleanly and run it for 1d without GApps and bigger apps.

Android reboots by itself sometimes turns off and needs Downloading Mode to be turned on

Hello everyone
I have Samsung Tab S3 since it's release in 2017 .. and it was a very nice tab till a couple months ago ..
It started restarting by itself .. and it's always when I'm not using it or when I'm pausing a video ..
And when I leave it for a couple hours i find out that it's turned off and it can't be turned on till I enter the Downloading mode and then restart it ..
I tried :
Emptying the battery to the end then recharge and didn't work.
Removing SD card and didn't work.
Entering safe mode and still restarted.
Removing cash partition didn't work.
And finally factory reset and didn't work.
Could it be a hardware related thing? Or a battery thing?
Thank you in advanced for your help
