[q] m8 s-off ?? - AT&T HTC One (M8)

I've started down the path of getting S-OFF on my M8. I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone. I then started to get S-OFF and got as far as installing InsertCoin, which worked fine. I then attempted to install FireWater, but quickly found that won't work any more so I need to use Sunshine. OK, fine with that but Sunshine will not run, giving an error message that it cannot be run on a device that is debugable. I read in another post that someone got this working by installing a new bootloader. I did try this and even tried many different bootloaders but nothing worked. I have the device back booting into Android with InsertCoin installed.
So my question is what do I need to do to get the device into a state where Sunshine will work? Or, how can I revert the InsertCoin install??
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Stock ROM and stock recovery are best for sunshine, from what I've read.

Thanks. I found stock roms on the HTC website and was able to get the device back into it's factory state.

[Q] Need help to return to stock..

So I held out for months to unlock my phone and decided to do so last night via HTC unlock method. All went well, unlocked, rooted and ended up flashing Myn's twopointthree. After all that trouble decided I don't care to do the whole rom thing and invest time into hacking my phones anymore.
I have tried everything to my knowledge to at least get back to stock (regardless if it is still unlocked) and no luck. I have tried running the RUU which fails (probably has to do with custom recovery), PG86IMG zips through recovery and bootloader which fails and also tried flashing stock recovery and running RUU and still no luck.
In my EVO days I had no troubles doing whatever I wanted with rooting and unrooting and everything in between because if I decided to return to stock I would run the PG36IMG zip and thats all it took.
Does anyone have any input on getting back to stock rom or do I have to use a Rooted Stock from xHausX or something equivelent?
Anything and everything is appreciated!

No details are mentioned with why RUU fails or why PG86IMG.zip fails. Both of these processes should provide some type of error.
Regardless, running an RUU through the .exe or flashing the signed PG86IMG.zip file should return all the partitions on the device to a stock state, minus perhaps the unlocked bootloader.

Good luck!

[Q] Need help with reverting back to stock

I have the Wind Amaze 4G
I tried to get S-off today and being unsuccessful I ended up at the screen where it shows the 3 arrows (2 in a circle and 1 pointing at the phone). I am assuming my stock rom got corrupted.
I can still get into fastboot and recovery (have CWM installed). Bootloader is unlocked (I can still lock/unlock it). I can get into CWM with the bootloader unlocked.
What I want to do is to revert back to stock and found a Wind/Globalive rom, but it's in an exe file. I ran it, but got back an error saying bootloader version incorrect.
I can't find any stock Wind zips...according to juopunutbear's instructions I need the stock rom...
Any help would be appreciated.
Wind's RUU is on the first link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570807
I have that, but when I used it (with bootloader relocked), it spits out an error saying Bootloader version error and exits
Then why don't you just keep trying to get s-off, some people said they had tried for hours before they succeeded. And btw, how far you get before s-off install fails?
At the wire trick when it restarted and said failed.
I tried to complete s-off and where it says to do the wire trick, no matter what I did it just kept repeating "Do the wire trick now!".
Right now I'm downloading a custom rom (Energy 3.10) and see if I can flash it on with CWM then try to revert back to stock using that Wind/Globalive exe file and go from there.
I guess while I am waiting on the download I'll keep going with the s-off.
If it works, then I'm flashing the ICS update onto the phone directly and be done with it.
What I don't understand is why I can't revert back to stock in the mean time.
Did you see this video?
Edit: May be something's wrong with the RUU. Actually, there was a flame war recently because someone had posted a broken RUU for T-Mobile, but no one mentioned anything about the Wind one, so I assume its working fine... Go to xboarder56's website an ask him, he was the one who was providing the RUUs for the community
First I'd like to thank you for helping. I really appreciate it.
Now I am attempting the s-off again, got a bit further except after the wire trick it says cannot find device.
As for xboarders site, I can't seem to find it...
No problem, I'll pm you x's site, dont think Im allowed to paste it here, its a long story...
so after several tries I managed to get s-off, I guess my timing was just off the first time and the time where it looked like it looped was me not making proper contact with the wire.
Few other unsuccessful attempts were poor timing, got it right finally after like 6 tries.
Got ICS loaded and s-off!!!!
Now to unlock and re-root then debloat this rom!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
Im glad it worked out, man, cheers
P.s. Also, you dont need to unlock the bootloader, the best way to install ICS is the one described here, thats how I did it, got ENG hboot, and worked like a charm...

[Q] Install Recovery

I was having extreme problems after flashing a custom ROM on my TB, so I took extreme measures and flashed an RUU, and now I'm back to stock. Well, stock except being S-OFF with the Revolutionary hboot. The RUU's kept saying "cannot roll back bootloader", which is fine by me. My phone is still booting, and running just like stock.
I was just wanting some directions on how to just install a recovery and get root again. All the instructions I can find, including the All In One tool, run me through gaining S-OFF and then rooting. I'm still S-OFF, so I'd rather not touch replacing hboot again.
Or, would it be easiest to flash a Stock/Rooted ROM, and if so, can someone provide a reference or link? I've been burned in the past of people claiming Stock/Rooted on my old phone, but actually making custom changes with negative effects for me.

Use S-OFF but no root in the extras menu of the tool if it doesn't ask you to install on first open

[Q] Stuck in bootloader with TAMPERED RELOCKED without a recovery. On HBOOT-1.57

Hi everyone. It is currently 3:30am my time when Im writing this message. I was rooted, had TWRP and S-On and I installed a stock rooted rom. When it finally flashed (after a couple attempts) the phone told me that a password was required to decrypt the device. I never put one on there. So I went back to TWRP to restore my backup, but of course I am locked out of all the memory in the phone. I was than at a standstill. I thought that i would try and do RUU. Part of the procedure as most of you probably know is to re lock your boot loader and have s-off. Well I re-locked it but than found out that no one has figured out how to s-off hboot 1.57. So i thought that i would unlock the boot-loader again and try some other things with the recovery. Well I used WinDroids tool kit and it seemed like i unlocked the bootloader...at first. The pop up message giving me the warning about unlocked bootloaders poped up. Of course i selected agree. But i was still left with a Relocked bootloader. Keep in mind, it still deleted everything. Including the recovery. So now i have no way of putting a recovery on the device. I tried manual fastboot commands and they didn't work (but im not sure if im doing that right anyway). So now I am at a lost. Any help would be amazing. I just bought this phone and It would be very sad to have a paperweight on the first day. lol
I had the same (almost) issue with my HTC one.
I followed the instructions on WonderHowTo website. I am unable to post a link here, but you can get to it by googling "pushing twrp htc one". It should be the third link on the search page with the title, "How to Fix a Soft-Bricked HTC One by Flashing a New ROM". I completed step 4 and restarted and it worked. It might be different for you.
Also, I tried multiple roms and none of them seemed to work EXCEPT Android Revolution HD 31.6 by mike1986 . (This was the only rom that seemed to work. I tried multiple other ones but I just got stuck into bootloop. I am assuming it was because this one is Android 4.3 )
It seems to be working now but I am stucked with an older version of Android and I am not liking it
Good Luck and Try it at your own risk.

What does your heart really want? Do you want to run custom ROMs and have root or not? It mostly sounds like you may want to return to stock due to lack of understanding and knowledge. That's okay if you want to do that. But kinda against the spirit of XDA!
Relock the bootloader and RUU will return the phone to stock and unrooted.
But it just sounds like you have mismatched firmware (results in long boot times with no boot animation, which some folks mistake for it not being booted).
Also, the newest TWRP require updated hboot, so that is probably the problem there.
If you want the phone rooted, and running a custom ROM: either run a ROM that corresponds with your firmware, or s-off and update your firmware.
What hboot and radio numbers? S-on or S-off?

Holy run-on sentence! Seriously, please take the time to type a proper response with punctuation. Making it easier to read, makes it easier for me to help you. And that is what you want, isn't it???
I don't use my personal email for this type of support. That is what these forums are for.
Skydragon is probably not "stuck" but rather taking an extremely long time to boot (10+ minutes) with no boot animation, which often leads folks to believe its stuck altogether. If you leave it alone, it will probably boot eventually, but you may also find that WiFi is broken. Both are symptoms of the wrong firmware for the ROM you flashed.
Your hboot number also indicates that you don't have the right firmware installed, as firmware includes hboot as well as radio, WiFi, Bluetooth, and other modules.
On the AT&T variant, you will not have any "official" way to update the firmware to anything more up-to-date than 2.x firmware (hboot 3.17). You need 4.x firmware (hboot 3.19) to run the ROM you mentioned. Therefore you need s-off by sunshine (if not s-off already).
You can check s-on or s-off by booting into bootloader, and you will see it says one of the other near the top of the screen.
Alternately, if you don't s-off, you can flash a ROM that corresponds to your firmware. Try the following ROM, but putting the ROM zip on a removable SD card using a card reader connected to your computer (if you have those available). Then boot into recovery, navigate to the file and flash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705640
Aside from that, you should really get your USB connectivity issue sorted out. You can't do much without it. Verify no response when you type fastboot devices when the phone is in fastboot mode. If it doesn't respond (should return device ID) then try a different USB cable, and different USB port. If on Windows, try going to Device Manager, finding the phone, and pick the option to manually select the drivers, than pick the USB MTP drivers (not the HTC ones). This will often fix adb/fastboot connectivity issues.
