[Q] P780 - General Issues & Solutions Under one heading - Lenovo P780

Hi all
I have come across numerous problems with P780 and many issues that are addressed but scattered everywhere on the net. I believe it is high time to condense everything down here. These are issues that I have come across and I look forward if someone within the elite team on this forum can address them individually.
1st issue (Internal v/s external memory swapping)
Internal Memory keeps filling up although External Storage is chosen from the menu for future download and installation. Actually, all apps are de facto installed onto the internal memory. I had to download a 3rd party software to move them each and everytime an app is downloaded to the external memory card. Still after moving, the internal memory keeps filling up.
I have tried this solution but unfortunately it doesn't work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2346389
2nd issue: (RAM)
Like you know, the RAM keeps over charging itself and each and everytime you have to clean it up. Came across this solution to increase RAM and I would like to know if this is genuine or not: https://www.androidpit.com/increase-phone-ram
3rd issue: Lenovo Launcher keeps crashing
Any solution to that? I used LiFE ROM. Want to know if there is a solid ROM out there that can overcome such issue? The numerous applications to be installed are found sparingly in several threads; hence if someone can group them altogether with relevant description of each of them that would be nice. Stumpy did an incredible thread here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B2ORIgaV4iacYmZHQmV0QXFpR0E&usp=sharing#list
But unfortunately, without a description of each of the file, it is difficult to know which is which.
4th issue: Installing new ROMs through Recovery mode
For instance I cannot install MIUI through this mode. I can only use flash tool to install a ROM. I donwloaded MIUI through their website but can't find the scatter file for relevant installation.
5th issue: Sound quality
People gets difficulty to hear us properly. Is that a hardware defect or software?

[Q] Help! link2sd is not working properly with minicm9 in x10 mini pro

First of all, I would like to say thanks to all the developers for all their hard work to make our mini phones better and better everyday. At present, I am using my x10 mini pro with minicm9-3.0.2 installed and in working condition.
I do notice some problems related to battery drain and other issues concerning usb tethering with windows PC as already discussed in older posts. And I believe that these issues would be resolved in future versions of minicm9.
However, the most dreadful thing for me while using my x10 MP is the inability to install my favourite apps due to shortage of internal memory. I didn't have the same problem when I was running minicm7 as I used link2sd app to link all apps to sdcard.
But now, from the time I've installed the latest ics rom, my most favoured app 'link2sd' seems 'out of order'. I don't think there''s any problem with the app, but, I'm frequently notified about low internal storage even after creating links to sd card. I had over 120 apps installed and linked to sdcard '2nd partition' earlier with minicm7 whereas now I have only managed to install about 20 apps. There's another thing that I've noticed. The apps that's been linked to sd crashes on its own and this problem is resolved as soon as the link is removed.
So, somebody please help me out of this situation.. (APP2SD is not the answer I'm looking for)
app2sd is the first thing you should do. because the difference between link2sd and app2sd is only the dex files. that means, even with all the dex files, you can install up at least 50 apps using original Android app2sd.
I believe the cm9 has not solved this problem yet. I have also read all the post online and in the developers form. no one talked about this bug.
The apps linked by link2sd will be automatically move back to internal memory while starting system (before asking PIN). it says:
Android is upgrading...
Optimizing application x of xx
Im screwed
IF I KNEW ABOUT LINK2SD ISSUE, I WOULDN'T HAVE FLASHED ICS (MINICM9) ON MY W8, IM SCREWED...

Unable to use stock recovery/unable to mount SD

I was working on doing some minor Ace i hacking for a friend of mine but while trying to use the stock "e3" recovery to flash a root .zip file, I found that upon selecting Install update from SD card, the menu wouldn't advance and the recovery would spit out an error relating to being unable to mount the SD, I did not encounter this oddity when modifying a different Ace i.
I had less experience with this Ace compared to the one I had success with, so I cannot name any past hardware malfunctions or even if the SD card is the original one, though it does sport a capacity of 2GB, the same as the original. I can say this however: they're both s5830is and the - let's just call it - troublesome one is O2 branded as it features an O2 shutdown animation, while the other was unbranded, and the troublesome one is running stock firmware along with the stock kernel.
I have searched this section and found no other threads detailing such an issue, so I ask, would anyone know what is causing this? Is it some kind of carrier mod-protection? A damaged-but-otherwise-working-in-everything-but-the-recovery SD card? Yes, I have tried taking the card out, cleaning the connections and putting it back in. No results. No I haven't tried another cards yet as I don't have any at hand.
I would flash a temporary kernel as a workaround of this but this friend wants to avoid all kernel and rom-flashing related business, so please, unless there exists no other option, do not point me in such a direction. All help is appreciated.

[Q] No internal storage

I've searched the forum extensively but I'm still having trouble.
I have a generic em63 android tablet. And yesterday when I turned it on after its battery died I was presented with the initial start up. I found I couldn't install any apps and when I checked the internal storage I was presented with 0.00MB.
A lot of the posts I've found concerned issues caused by flashing the ROM which I haven't or by installing an app to access system files but as I can't install any apps I can't try that technique.
If anyone knows what steps I should take or if there's a thread I haven't found yet that would help anything would be appreciated.

MT6582 - Root no access to SD card and other issues

I already have read multiple threads about this issue, however, this is sort of a more specific issue I ran into. The device I'm using is a MT6582 Karbonn Titanium S25 (sold under a different name in my country) with a pretty recent build of the software which is a completely stock Mediatek Android 4.4 build.
The issue here is simple enough - root can't access the external sdcard (sdcard0), but the user can oddly enough. This causes file operations to goof up and that's really annoying me. I can't copy any file from an external sdcard, but instead, I have to copy it to the internal one first and then wherever else on the phone.
I did do some crazy things which caused me to lose the original stock system image, but I still had the files of it so I had to create an updater script and a flashable ZIP of it, though, I don't believe that's what's causing the issue here, since I had an older build running which has the same issue when rooted. Unfortunately, this build they flashed on my phone (in the store lol, with SP flash tool of a newer build) seems private to them. I asked them specifically if it was available for download anywhere and they said no.
Using the utilities provided on the Play Store did not fix the issue for me.
On another note, BBS and V4A seem to have been affected by a similar issue as well. BBS can't read Kernel Wakelocks and V4A can't install its driver for some reason.
If anybody needs the ROM I'm using on my phone, feel free to ask! This one is special since there isn't a download of it anywhere available. Build number is: Karbonn Titanium S25_V1.7_20150203124356

how to test flash mem in p780? 'no space left' when installing apps

hello,
I am using third p780 and I have similar problem in each one. As that last one comes from trusted source I would need to check it.
I am using AOSP fw now and I havent done any changes/restores/resets from the last year when I have configured phone. But in last time I see that I cant install more than 10-15 little apps,
from the bigger ones I have found gmail, chrome and I would like to install more than few little apps (<50MB).
Is there any possibility to check the andoid flash for 'bad sectors' ? I have heard long time ago that when I need to uninstall apps to install new ones that could be a syndrome of getting flash failures. My main storage was set to SDcard which is sandisk extreme 32gb microsd card - but I have seen that apps was installed to phone storage by default. I am pretty sure that the sd card is healthy.
How can I check that(phone storrage) ? Maybe in ADB mode? Maybe there is any app for that?
regards

Hi.
I have not found any software to do what you want.
Maybe sp flash tool can do that.
But... i have changed my P780 because of this space problem.
Try one MIUI, Older MIUI and see if in that firmware you can install more then 15 apps.
I do not think this is some hardware problem. In my opinion the small storage chipset is the problem.
Good Luck.
