Huawei kernel source. - Huawei Ascend Mate 2

Tom Marshall has requested the kernel source for L. Feel free to post on their Facebook
Email them. Whatever. If he can get the source you will have a CM12 for your mate 2.

I would LOVE CM.

LOL. Actually, I was more asking for the group, not myself. I want to be sure we are all using the same places to voice our opinions. There is strength in numbers.

Has anyone noticed that they have taken down the release from their website:
https://community.gethuawei.com/sup...15/06/30/mate2-android-l-update-now-available
"Update: The Android L update (B309) is temporarily unavailable as we gather user feedback and improve the overall experience. We will post a new announcement when the next software release is available. If you already installed Android L,*please submit your device IMEI*to receive future updates via Huawei's OTA server."

That is odd. Maybe due to bugs reported. Make some changes and re release?

I should have thought if that. Someone beat me to it. On another post I saw that are saying a month to release. With the removal of the update from their site. I assume they are tweaking it. Good idea I guess. So Tom gets a good working start. Thanks for pointing that out. Next time I will be sure to post the needed info.

Here's what I got from asking about it.

That looks like an incredibly generic response from someone who glossed over your question. And what's with the asterisks?

Just copied and pasted the email. It looks normal in the message.

Sony S Tablet Kernel Source

I asked Sony to "release the code" and they referred me to "Android" and not even Google lol.
Replied to state they are in breach of licensing agreements until they do provide this and that i will be registering a complaint to state such.
Is [email protected] from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-violation.html the appropriate place to complain. The more people we get the more chance they have to comply.

Untill this moment the date and time for releasing the Kernel source code is still yet unknown, please be informed that it will be announced on our website once it became available.
Pathetic but entirely predictable...
Would potentially contacting google directly be at all a help? I mean since it's their codes being "stolen" if you will, perhaps they would have something to say about it.. plus they have more money to back themselves
BUT, I must say... I feel asthough a company as big as Sony, when using another big name corperations codes, would have found some sneaky little clause in the terms of use, or changed something in some small way, that legally it is now "theirs" due to adding their own intellectual property, giving them the right to keep it as closed source. This is obviously pure speculation, and I truly hope I'm far from true, but I certainly wouldn't be getting my hopes too high
yup i was told similar crap when i asked the tech support rep:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21752691&postcount=175
"Playstation certified" transaltion: boned for life
gpl states they must release source within 90 days iirc so they are in breach

Nice; so they released it, but are directing people away from it lol (probably because they people answering the questions have no idea what's being asked).

Hi all, sorry to bump up a silly thread (should I find the related post in general maybe?)
I've just read on one of the MIUI dev's weibo page (kind of Facebook for chinese people, for those who do not know it), that they started working on the Nexus 5 port, and expect maybe 2 month of work to get it stable.
Of course, no other timeline for now
Closer thread please moderators

spam call detector like Samsung

Why doesn't Huawei have an inbuilt dialer app that alerts you to spam calls and can check its database to list incoming call details if its not listed in your phone book.
Yes... Missing it too.. Wish someone mod the google dialer to work with spam and caller ID detection.

There is already a modded version of the Google Dialler APK, use search and you'll find it. I want 100% happy with it mind.

Maybe that's why I didn't get on with it. I don't really miss it tbh, I used to use TrueCaller
I'm using should I answer. Seems pretty reasonable.

Having come from the S9+ it didn't work for me anyway, 99% of my spam calls were from an Indian callcentre and they'd just clone a number using VOIP so weren't detected. I was getting around 4/6 a day but due to shear abuse I've given them I've only had 3 or 4 this year so far.
EDIT: BTW I know it was the same cs because they use the same pitch and asked for the same person each time which wasn't me

And when you miss that important call because you allowed the scammers to stop you answering the phone?

What?
Works quite well, interacts with the contacts list and recent call list, it doesn't stop you from answering important calls.

Its not the same when you use a third party app. It would be much better if it was an inbuilt feature like how Samsung does it.
