[Q] Best Videocamera App for Samsung Galaxy K Zoom - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I also have a Samsung K-Zoom SM-C115 and wanted to know, what is the best Videocamera app where I
can adjust the brightness or contrast in the 1920x1080 video recording modes ?
As the normal camera app has 1080p 30 Hz and 1080p60Hz mode,
I tried to see, how I can optimize these modes., so I can also record in low light conditions
with it, like at a concert or outdoor in the evenings..
Although in picture mode you have a nightshot mode, these are not available in the video modes and
you can not control the video brightness..
So is there any solution for this in maybe a Lollipop ROM version or do you know a videocamera app that
fixes this ?
I have already tried the Apps "A better Camera" and "CameraMX" but both have also problems...
They are able to do realtime video processing during recording so you can brighthen up the
video during recording, but somehow the zoom is then not really working and other bugs...
So is there any other real good solution to this ? Any videocam app that is better than these ?
Many thanks.
Regards, Stefan.

Or is there a Lollipop Android 5.x Rom already out that fixes these camera problems ? Many thanks.

Take a look at Cinema FV-5 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.cinema.pro
It has manual controls, and volume rocker can be configured for zoom.
Personally I find the stock app full-auto "good enough" for most of my casual videography.

[Q] Question about 9100 front webcam frame rate limited to 15fps

Hi,
I try to access the front camera of this phone.
From the debug information, I get that "preview-frame-rates" of the front camera is only 15.
Therefore, when I record a video with this front camera, the maximum fps I can achieve is 15.
However, when I use the default Camera app from the phone and try to record a video from the front camera, I can get around 25 fps. Not sure how this app can do this. Any comments are welcome.
Another interesting thing is: by using the Camera app from the phone, there are two modes with front camera, one for video saving and one for image saving.
It is very obvious that the live preview in video saving mode is much faster (around 25fps) than the live preview in image saving mode (around 15fps judged by eyes), but it is also darker. I guess they use different settings for exposure control for these two.
Is there anyway we can get achieve a higher preview-frame-rate of the front camera ideally through android sdk???
Any insights are welcome.
Thanks.
George

[Q] Camera - Brightness & Sound fixes possible ?

Hey Developers, is anyone of you guys a pro when it comes to Camera tweaks ?
Is it possible to write an app which simply locks the brightness for the camera so it doesnt auto adjust itself ? Its too bright in daylight but if you move the camera to a bright spot (like the sky) it adjusts itself so that u can see overbrighted spots suddenly...
Is it possible to program something to control the light sensor ?
Alos, i noticed thta the sound quality in videos is mor worse then in previous models...
I could copy the video onto the computer and fix it via equalizer...
BUT! since the settings are the same for every device, wouldnt it be better to have an app that automatically uses an equalizer with fixed settings on the videos or even change the system so it records with different settings for the sound?
is it possible to fix the video sound while or after recording a video ?
I am interested in the technical possibilities please tell me what you think is or is not possible
wrong place to ask , Q & A section!
lolz this exposure fix ,you are asking for was actually a bug in the lg camera app.the software modifies exposure so that the parts of video which are too bright are not washed away.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
Thanks m8 !
So talking about the exposure, is there a way to fix this easily ? my phone will arrive in 2 weeks so i cant try out the integrated options but i watched like every video on youtube and it seems like there is no way to fix that via the built in settings...
was there a fix for the lg cam ?

Serius Camera Bug on Xiaomi Device

I am mainly a cinematographer and I need a video camera all time with me. Mobile phone does lots of everyday work for me but after I bought Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, I couldn't use this video camera app -_- if light is little bit low then it will drop the frame. I tried different third party app like google camera, Open camera, Cinema FV-5 and more but same result. Everything is fine but the fps is droping....
Sometimes it was 9/10/15 fps
Btw, If i shoot anything with slow motion then it took constant 30 FPS. but with normal mode no solution... even with front camera. I tried lots of rom but the result is same. Even I tried some different Redmi Note 2, mi4i, Redmi Note 3 Device same thing happened
But, only Camera MX can shoot properly 30 fps. and if I modify the media profile it only affect Camera MX app. All other camera app is not affected. And off course I can see this low fps problem mainly occurred on low light (indoor, car etc...)
I can see some bug report about this issue with some different Xiaomi product from last year but I don't know why Xiaomi didn't took notice. Any Idea how to fix this frame rate drop issue ?
Thank You.
Only media_profiles with 30fps setting and 3rd party apps, like Camera MX, Better Camera, Cinema FV. You must try.
But, with these U lose PDAF focus in camera.
Original app is good, but not for video.. It drops FPS to 15 when low light.. We cant set the constant 30FPS value

Thanks for your reply. I modified media_profiles with 30 fps, even i set minimum fps to 30 but without Camera MX other camera app use 15/12 fps at low light. It always tried to enhance low light image quality, but I don't have any problem with low light but need constant fps. I use google camera, open camera, cinema FV5 but each of them ignoring media_profile minimum fps command.
Any suitable rom with constant fps ?

Is it good for video recording?

Hey,
I'm thinking about buying the phone for mainly video recording.
I'd purchase a stabilizer gimbal with the phone, and use it 95% time in wide angle mode to record 4k videos.
As I don't yet have the phone it's hard for me to tell how good it is for that purpose, but I know that i'd definitely need the following things in video mode:
- turn inbuilt stabilizer off
- change exposures
- lock exposure
- manual ISO setting
- manual shutter speed would be nice, but not essential
- manual focus that stays focused on one place
- NO unnecessary focus hunting in automatic mode (God...that ruins so many videos!) - i hope the laser focus works here
These are usually fairly basic requirements for Photography mode, but sometimes they don't include these in video mode.
If they are not built in the default camera app, does other playstore camera app(like "Manual camera") work on the phone with these settings?
I currently have a Moto X Style that I love, but the video features are all automated and many of the above is locked
Thank you all for the answers

So even though there was no answer, I have went to a phone shop and tried it there. I found that in video mode manual settings are not possible at all, which is a big letdown for the G5.
I'm hoping at least that Open camera at least works on it. That should allow manual controls for video too. Has anybody tried it?
Hi!
Open camera is working fine. One of the few apps that also can use the wide angle camera!
When I want to record video with perfect audio I use my zoom h2n recorder as external mic and adjust the audio gain: perfect for rock concerts, etc.
Just buy a USB-C OTG adapter to USB 3.0 (normal size). Then connect the cable from the mic. At last - perfect audio!
the only advanced & working app I've found till date (which can EVEN change options during recording) is Cinema FV-5.
OpenCamera could be used too sometimes, if you dont have something better.
Ive mostly used 3rd party video apps with my G5, instead of the stock camera too, though its hard to find one that will use both lenses.

Question: Open Camera 4K 60fps

Has anyone tried recording 4K at 60fps using Open Camera?
I'm thinking of buying this phone but there are others around the same price that support that.
I have an Xperia XA2 Ultra. Open Camera allows the main selfie camera to record video in 4K 30fps when by default
it can only record 1080p
Could anyone try the app and let me know?
I would really appreciate it
"Serious Camera Error" when 4k 60fps is set.

I just installed open camera, though I dont find the HDR option in video settings, but setting to 4k/60 with max buffer of 200 seems to record without a problem. I tried front facing camera, same goes...
I dont see an issue but again, I dont see HDR option in it, also the selfie camera on photo mode, max buffer and max quality seems only as good as normal camera app, the default camera app maybe even a little sharper but barely noticeable but if you really care for 60fps both back and front worked in [email protected] which is weird lol I never expected that, I need to go further testing to see how good the open camera is, compare 60fps in 4k to 60fps 30 and compare quality as well to get the full idea, but I did play around with photos a little bit, and to be honest open camera seemed to have much more artificial sharpness, the photo zoomed out looks sharp even sharper than default camera, but put on a big screen or zoomed in, the default camera has much more respectable sharpness that has way less noise and grain which makes the photo more realistic and more natural overall thats why I feel like the open camera is just a gimmick, all it can provide is 60fps in 4k in both cameras, but again I have to check the quality to see if its even worth it because even with quick tweaking in open camera, I still cant get the best combination of brightness sharpness and color accuracy, yet the default camera app gives a splendid true mix of those, maybe going deeper in manual settings adjusting all these aspects manually could lead to good quality outcomes, but to be honest, no one will ever want to adjust every time they wanna take a pic/video so yah
Thanks a lot Man
I get a lot of noise when recording 4K with the selfie camera, maybe because it wasn't meant to do that or it is just Open Camera.
Thanks again
