Hi, few days ago my sister's phone fell from about 1m on the ground and from this time it's dead. Screen all the time off, no vibes etc.
The phone is iNew v8 plus.
I've disassembled it, unpluged and pluged all cables, checked if hardware buttons are working(by multimeter, they are working), etc. but still nothing, phone is dead.
Today i've connected it to my pc and seems like it's not fully dead, because in Device manager it's visible as USB Modem Driver(COM3), it's connecting for about 5 seconds and then instantly disconnecting, and again connecting... endless loop.
Device is not visible for ADB,
Do you see any chance in at least recovering data from phone?

Mostly for Mediatek android devices, it has a solution, which is:
-Install device's drivers
-install spflashtool
-download your smartphone's rom (suitable for spflashtool with scatter file)
-open spflashtool load rom by choosing scatter file
-untick all options, leave only preloader ticked
-click download button on spflashtool
-it should be waiting for device to be connected
-connect now your device via usb
-it will resolve usb connection problems ( your device's usb connection to pc will be stable )
-now reload scatter - tick all options there but untick preloader because it is already flashed
-wait up to 10 min
-turn your device on

Where can I find the scatter file? I have the ROM but cannot see find the scatter file..

I have been years just reading these forums but never made any posts, so thats why I cannot post to development section anyways. I happened to totally brick my phone by flashing wrong preloader into it. However this morning i succesfully reflashed it and now I have somehow working phone (just need to find new rom now) but anyways. This thread is to help other people who has semi bricked their phones as well.
Current situation.
-Phone doesn't charge,
-Phone doesn't turn on (nothing happens)
-Computer sees phone for few secs, so you have "META mode" access. If your computer doesn't see your phone at all make modified USB connect the 4pin to ground. This is what I did actually. If that doesn't work you can google for test points.
My device:
MTK6575 (Fake mt6589)
512MT RAM (fake 2GB)
800x460 resolution (fake 1920x1080)
4GB internal memory (fake 8gb)
5" screen
2200mah battery (fake 3000mah)
OK this is the prodecure that got my phone back to live!
Install windows XP (Yes, windows 8 didn't work for me. most likely drivers are not ready for it. I will not write steps how to install windows xp)
Install USB deview
-Google it, download it, extract package and run it
-Remove all drivers related to Mediatek, android, usb vcom etc.
Download and install VCOM USB Drivers
-Download these drivers http://www.mediafire.com/download/31nddwqdot5ajp2/MT6575+USB+VCOM+drivers.zip
-Put your phone battery in (50% charge) required. wait 10s. Take battery off and connect your phone to PC as meta mode ( modified USB cable, VOL+/- while connecting, you can read more about this from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943442
-When your phone is connected it will disconnect after ~3-5seconds. Now you have to wait in device manager connect the phone right click the device when it shows up. Install driver from the location where you unpacked your VCOM USB drivers/2K_XP_COM/ dont automaticly install them but manually. After windows have found drivers UNTICK show compatible devices. And MANUALLY select preloader driver. Now it will install it the next time the device connects. OK now we have Preloader driver in place. Notice that we will install one more driver later needed in flashing procedure. Disconnect phone.
Now download compatible rom. for me My backup was not working, but this rom worked out perfectly:

Download SP Flash Tool v3.1222.00, extract it.
Ok lets recap what we have now:
-preloader drivers
-phone disconnected
-SP Flash Tool v3.1222.00
-back up we can use to flash
Open flash tool, enter scatter file and go to Format
-Select Format whole flash except bootloader and nvram bin region. -> connect phone -> succeed
-Select Format NVRAM bin region ONLY -> connect phone -> succeed
-Select Format whole flash -> connect phone -> succeed
Ok. Next we need to flash compatible rom this part is tricky. Read before doing anything.
-Disconnect your phone, enter battery (50% charge required)
-wait atlaest 15seconds, and remove battery
-(I dont know why those steps were required, but didn't work without it)
-Open SP Flash tool select scatter file and select all checkboxes
-press download
-connect your phone in META mode with Preloader drivers we installed before.
-Now red prograss bar will start going and phone will disconnect After it reconnect We want ANOTHER drivers are located in the same place but now we need to select Mediatek DA Vcom USB drivers. If everything went fine you get yellow progress bar and it will reflash your phone! :victory:
In the last part if you got Error 5054, This is good. It means your phone is still alive! but your current preloader does not match the data you are going to flash. So you need to go back to google and download other rom try flashing everything (thats what I did, before hitting jack pot, eventually you will find compatible rom)
If you got ERROR 3002 switch back to SP Flash Tool v3.1222.00 newer one doesn't work!
I got some other errors as well when flashing and I solved them but didn't write down the errors so I cant remember them sorry
Remember before connect phone as META mode. Plug in battery with atlaest 50% power wait 15s. remove it. and connect the phone to PC. This was the mysterious step I was missing when struggling with this 5 days!
By the time of writing this article I got my phone working rom, everything works.

my rooted mt6575(spice mi-315) device stuck on boot logo. i also tried clar cache and wipe all data bt still same boot logo appear . i am going to ur theard when i format whole flash except bootloader and navram. and connect my device to pc and error occured.....
does some know where to find a latest rom for my mtk 6575(samsung glx,y grand duo hard copy) plz i really need 1
google play service was not working so i uninstalled it to intall a proper vrsion but when i try install it from google play store it says imcompatible with same shared id what can i do plz hlp me coz some of my apps and game r not working...

Hi. I own a Lenovo S850. While trying to update system from the settings, it suddenly turned off and never opened. So I downloaded the Stock rom and flashed it via SP Flash tool. After opening the mobile, it was not like before. SO I downloaded stock rom from another website, connected phone with SP flash tool and formatted from there. It showed ok. Then I clicked download with Da/DL checked. But it couldn't detect the phone. I reattached the USB(It has attached battery), it showed USB connected on Device Manager but SP flash tool couldn't detect. I tried from 3 different PC's.

Before formatting the last time, USB VCOM only connects for 2 second, I had to click download and then I needed to attach the phone. But now it doesn't connect for only 2 seconds. It shows the whole time I connect with PC.
I uninstalled every driver with USB deview, reinstalled and updated VCOM driver. But nothing changed.
When I click and hold the power button, nothing comes up on phone, not even the backlight. Tried to enter in recovery mode, nothing shows. What should I do now?
Hi guys I'm a noobie at this Stuff... But I make my Struggle, even trying it
I have a M4tel model SS1060 from Telcel, the phone was Ok, just one day it freezed , I removed the battery and when I put it back to the phone it get sttucked at M4 logo
So, I found at the web that with SPflashtool I could make it boot up correctly again, loading again the correct ROM or FIRMWARE with it:
I was making this procedure on a laptop with Windows 8.1pro 64bits.
1.- I get the firmware from MTK page I found
2.- I installed the mtk VCOM preloader drivers succesfully
3.- Extracted the RAR file of the Firmware.
4.- Opened Flashtool, I selected the respective scatter.txt file for my device, put the icon on "Donwload Only".
5.- I unpluged the battery, and conect it via USB, the program started to send the file . After a few secconds a error ocurred saying that the PMT was wrong. So i Try it again a few times, even with other version of SPflashtool, and different firmwares for the M4 ss1060 (diferent mobile operators ROMs) without good results.
At this point the phone was in the same condition... I could boot it into recovery normaly, but when triyng to boot it up it keeps stucked at M4's Logo.
I found that this issue was supposed to be fixed setting the program on "Firmware Upgrade" instead of "Download Only". So I make the same process changing it to Firmware Upgrade.....
7.- The progam started succesfully, and loaded the file completly with no errors, after eight minutes the "ok " icon" was shown .
I unplugged the phone from the PC, insert the battery and nothing happened ANYTHING. I think that my mistake was to put "Firmware Upgrade".....
The phone keeps OFF I plug the Charger and it does not turns even the screen to Say "I'm Charging" I can't even get it into recovery mode, no logo screens. BUT.... When I plug the USB from the PC to the Phone I see that the Device Manager detects the phone with the Vcom Preloader of Mediatek.
So I tried to load the firmware again with SPflashtool on Download mode, the program send the file correctly, and it takes long as ten minutes showing the "OK" icon. But the phone keeps OFF, it makes nothing....
So I wonder If someone knows what to do, I was thinking on install a custom recovery, having on that the problem may be that I damaged the recovery of my phone making it unaviable to boot up. But I'm not shure, and I haven't found information about it.
I just knows that my phone has a MT6572 Chipset, I wonder if some one knows what to do.

I tried to install TWRP and got it, but then it did not power on anymore, and I connected to the pc and it turns off and on as you would to disconnect the cable and reconnect

What you can try is this:
You can get the original firmware for this phone (just a quick google search) but make sure its sp flash tools flashable then extract the file with all the firmware
Then type in google: Alcatel pixi 3 (4) vcom drivers and then download them
Then extract the drivers to a place you can remember
Then press windows key + R
Type in devmgmt.msc
Then once device manager opens select a driver section such as ports (COM & LPT)
Then go to action, add legacy hardware
Then select the driver .inf you extracted earlier
Then once its Installed it will go to a screen where it says "the device cannot start (code 10)" just ignore it that's normal
Then open spflashtools and then select the scatter.txt in the firmware it should be something like "MT6580_Android_Scatter.txt" or different
Then it should load up all the partitions for flashing
Then click start keep your phone plugged in and if it says "Download DA 100%" with a red bar you've got it all right
Now all you have to do is wait....
And after 8 minutes (that's how long it took me to flash my Alcatel pixi 4) you have a working phone!
P.S: if you get "DA didn't send any data" that means you installed the drivers wrong or you don't have enough charge in your battery, just charge the battery and try to reflash the firmware and you should be able to flash the firmware!

This phone can't be bricked (mostly). You can easily restore the stock firmware, just download stock rom from official site, extract it. And use sp flash tool not the one that comes with the official rom. Open sp flash tool.
Load scatter file from official rom, you can leave the DA file for all mtk phones that comes with stock rom or use the one in sp flash tool (just leave it as it is) in the user interface of sp flash tool.
Make sure it says "download only" from the drop box. Click download then connect the phone to your computer. Flashing will start and should take about 1 minute and 30 seconds to finish.
If flashing doesn't start. Make sure you have vcom drivers installed. (Also for flashing to start, phone must be turned off obviously, but since you have semi brick, you don't have to worry about that).

Vdcom drivers already installed but not using. becouse computer does not see phone.
Unknown usb device . A request for the USB device descriptor failed. (code 43)

My phone opened, but computer cannot see storage.i think phone's usb ports damaged. i can flash rom with sp flash tool only.
fastboot and recovery not working. i cant make root too. what can i do i dont know. recovery cant open, writing "no command".

Go to developer mode menu (if you don't have it, tap on "build number" in "about phone" from settings, seven times and it will be activated). Then change how your USB acts when connected with computer.
If you can't, just use ES File explorer to send files between your computer and phone in FTP or SMB mode over WiFi.
Have the same problam.
The pc recognize the vcom device but only for 2-3 secconds and then disaper, then i get an error with sp flashtool.
Phone isnt tured on. At all.

I do not know if it is late. I had the same problem with another phone. I was solved as follows:
1. Unplug the usb cable from the computer
2. Power off the phone
3. Press download on sp flash tool
4. Holding vol+ and power, plug the usb cable on the computer.

i tried flash 5MB file nvdata.bin from different MTK 675x device, but nothings change
I tried flash 33 MB nvdata.img from same MTK 675x device, but I lost IMEI and nothing solved
This is why I need 33 MB NVDATA.IMG from another functional Ulephone power 2
I can change IMEI at MTK then ...
I had to flash , because phone was unusable - it stucked mostly on obtaining IP address wifi
after a while, phone disconnected from wifi and cant find any wifi or if find, then cant connect because of some security issue , after restart all was OK ...
