CPU Heat - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone. I'm having a little problem with my S3. Whichever rom I install I'm having a CPU Temperature issue. This is same on the stock rom as well. I don't know if this problem persists for a long time. I just realized it 1 or 2 weeks ago. Currently I'm using qaraqumus's QS I9300 KK Final(OE1) rom with boeffla kernel installed. My temperature is mostly around 40 to 50 degrees. In my town the temperature is about 35 degrees (I don't know if this has something to do with my phone's temperature.) When I leave it and don't touch it phone cools down to 40 degrees. But with a room which has an air conditioner, it cools down to 36-38 degrees. Whenever I pick up to phone and text message to someone or look at the Twitter (minimum usage) its temperature goes up to 45 or more. Is this normal? Or do I have to get my phone serviced?

SGS3 battery overheating ? !!

Guys,
After buying I recharged my phone once.
Now even when I'm simply listening to music and using tapalalk, battery temps are at 43 degrees celsius.
When doing back to back speedtests it went to 47 deg cel.
The lower portion of phone becomes hotter.
I'm really worried.
Can you guys give your battery and phone temps ?
Ps : use cool tool software.

I have no problem what so ever, played Dungeon defenders and GTA III today and it did not get more than 35 degree celcius. The phone do heat a bit up when it charge, but no higher than 35 degree... I did not play and charge the phone at the same time.
(however dungeon defenders did actually lag a bit :O, must be the game that is pooly optimised).
I tried stress testing the phone by playing an hd video using popup play and running shadowgun at the same time, and the battery only reached 39 deg. celcius.
I've setup some battery temperature warning events at 40, 44, 48, and 50 degrees and only my lowest one has ever triggered. Highest I've seen the battery is 42 degrees.
So you guys think its a defective battery ?
Or it needs 3 to 4 recharges to come to that optimal temperature ?

I think weather / room temperature play a big part here. In hotter environments phone temperature during idle or use would naturally be higher than in colder ones. Pretty sure it's quite warm in Bangalore this time of year.

you can better try switching off the mobile, pullout the battery and turn it on after a few minutes. also check the cpu usage, you may have installed some app which might be continuously running in the background

Did not workout. Issue still exists.
No background process running. No cpu hogs.
One more thing I noticed : the battery temp raises to 47 only when there is lot of activiy ln the chipset (either 3g downloads or cpu activities which causes it to clock at 1.4 ghz more often). Where as on sgs2 if i apply the same load its 35 deg. I tried it on sgs2 and measured the temp.
The battery temp most of the time is 40 deg, thats what bothering me.

M planning to return my phone because of this overheating.
Just 5 mins played the game and battery temp raised from 30 deg cel to 44 deg cel.
Suggestions pls.
Samsung dealer says that i've 4 days. Within 4 days if i find any problems i can get a letter from nearest samsung service center and upon seeing that letter he will immediately give me a new phone.
I do not know what will happen if i ask for a refund of money.

I changed the battery. Battery temp is well under 40 deg under regular browsing with music player playing in bkground.
Under heavy gaming under A.C. temp stays still at 40 deg.
I'm ok with these readings.
Now m gonna undervolt the phone also underclock cup and gpu and see how the temps turnaround.

Z2 CPU temperature and heating on your phone

Hi,
since I updated my Z2 (D6503) to LP 5.0 my phone is heating pretty much. After 10 min. of using (doesn't matter how) temp. foes up to 38-39 degrees of celsius, and after using for a while like an half hour, it goes even up to 41-42 degrees (but it is also very very hot in room in which I use it).
So, I just wanted to hear your opinions about this, is it normal, do you have the same issue and can it be corrected somehow?
That's all, thanks in advance to all.
Mine's CPU almost hits 70 degrees celsius. Your temps must be battery temps, cause mine are the same.
38-42° Celsius? You mean Battery temperature right? My phones CPU was about 58-66°C after installing 5.1

charge temperature

I have redmi note 4 . During charge my phone it becomes hot.. i installed cpu z to check temperature...I found that chg-temp is 55 degree during charge and 46 degree without charge in draining ....so is that normal or not
Depends on ambient temperature but 46 degrees is way too high. It runs cooler even when doing heavy tasks like gaming even when playing asphalt 8 it never exceeds 40 degrees. It becomes more hot when charging although it never exceeded 43 degrees while charging. It is one of the coolest device.
55 degrees is way too high it never touch that when holding it under the direct sunlight in summers when outside temperature is around 50 degrees. In this condition mine mine never exceeded 50 degrees.
I reach 40°C when charging, playing EverWing, and listening to Spotify for 2-3 hours non-stop. Granted I'm indoors with ambient temperature of around 20°C. Charging, playing, or watching videos outside in direct sunlight will greatly increase SOC temperature, specially if your phone is the black variant.
In Egypt ambient temperature reaches 35 c so is it affect my cell phone temp
Also I am asking about charge temperature in cpu z program.....other temperature in my device don't reach 40 c but only chg-temp reach 55 c

Ignore it. Its fine. Not for our use. One of the temp in this showing 78 degrees.

My poco f1 shows Battery temp below 45 degrees and cpu Temp reaching 93 degree centig

My poco f1 shows Battery temp below 45 degrees and cpu Temp reaching 93 degree centigrades in antutu testing is it ok or this is worrying?
If it's momentarily, it shouldn't be a problem. If you feel the phone is hot in your hand, it also shouldn't be a problem short-term. If the phone is hot most of time when idling or doing non-intensive task, then you should worry.
My previous samsung 2012 phone could take temperatures up to 60°C for battery and 120°C for CPU. If it reached that temperature, the phone would automatically power off. Even at 80°C it began to throttle the device and tried to cool it down. I imagine something similar is implemented for this phone (though I haven't confirmed it).
every time during testing it reaches that temperature for a few seconds and then comes down .this happens for at least 7-8 times during a single antutu benchmark testing.
