wifi and mobile data disconnects when screen goes off even with wifi ALWAYS ON mode - Huawei Ascend Mate 2

My wifi and data connection disconnects when screen goes off on my huawei ascend mate 2. For samsung phones it can be solved with secret codes like ##0011# but for huawei phones the secret codes are not working. or do you know a working secret code on hardware level for this? my power save mode is off. wifi is set on always on mode. auto synchronisation is on. my apps can all run in background. So I have set off all possible energy saving option for all apps. besides I have downloaded apps to keep wifi always on. but when I put it on always on mode on this app. It mentions that the wifi set on always on mode. but after 2 seconds I open the app (wifi always on app) it says that the wifi is on saving mode and not in always on mode. So there is another more dominant program (probably the huawei custom ROM) who has more privileges than a normal app so that it avoids that wifi is on always on mode.
Sometimes even when the screen is on, viber whatsapp does not receive calls or messages you should launch the app to receive calls and messages. you would say that it is a synchronisation problem. No. No. sync is on for all accounts. all accounts have full access on all my data and on the battery. All settings about battery saving options are set off.

I have sort of the same issue. I use KIK to talk to a lot of friends and on other phones I've had (LG G3 previously), I could load up the task manager and clear away all apps and it had no effect on getting messages. Now, with the HAM, if I clear away running programs, including KIK, even though I have KIK set as a protected app, I will not get any messages and people who send me messages say it stays on S (sent) as opposed to D (delivered). If I clear out all running apps and then load KIK up again before turning off the screen, the messages get delivered and I get notification. It's a little annoying, but keeping the program I want to receive notifications, running, seems to solve the issue for me.

{Q} Can you shut down all but the most basic processes?

I am just looking for a way to essentially disable everything but the android OS itself and the camera.
I am camping way out of reception range and need as much juice out of my battery as I can get. So I don't need any Phone, Contact, Messaging, Data, Synch, or anything like that, really just a Camera, and maybe the ability to turn on the GPS if it will even work.
I tried keeping it turned off but turning it on when I needed it took a long time and seemed to use up more juice than just leaving it on and in sleep mode.
I know I could go into Titanium and "Freeze" everything but I think that would take forever to do and undo.
Any ideas or suggestions?
turn on airplane mode (which disables all wireless features including network, so no incoming/outgoing calls, no messages, etc)
auto sync/background data can be turned off in settings>accounts&sync settings

Trouble with notifications

Having trouble when phone has been in sleep for half hour or more. Notifications coming through wifi are not working. I've being trying to solve it since yesterday but I'm not having any luck.
I've made sure the apps in question are on auto start in permissions, turned off ultra long standby mode in battery power management settings and set the apps to be exempt from cleaning in app protection settings and even turned off 'align wakeup' in power management, and of course wifi is set always on.
Phone is x820 model running fresh china 17S rom, to which i manually installed google play, gmail, bbm apps.. bbm and gmail are the apps in question are the ones not getting notifications, even though phone can receive an sms messages no problem, weirdly even receiving an sms doesnt spring the other notifications to work, also when turning the screen back on notifications still don't come for up to ten minutes even though wifi is working fine.
Any help would be really apreciated, thanks
Hi,
I'm in the same situation as you.
Also my calendar doesn't want to sync. I've flashed phonesky.apk for google apps but it doesn't contains google agenda sync adapter.. so no agenda sync
I've some app which is always run but seems to be cut by the system
Also have a lot of start up app (reboot) but nothing start huhu
17s china
Yeah it's pretty odd. Maybe the trying the Indian rom is the solution.
Generally the settings for notifications should be done in this way:
1. Check that notifications for the desired apps are ON under the menu Settings - Notification Management
2. Allow the apps to start automatically under the menu Settings - Permissions - You have allowed ... apps to auto launch
3. Disable the auto cleaning of the apps under Phone manager - Power Saving Management - App protection
I have Lock-Screen cleanup unchecked, Ultra-Long standby during sleep checked, Align wakeup checked, Clock night-alignment mode checked.
In this way I have no problems with notifications with whatsapp, viber, e-mail (I'm using yahoo mail with the stock email app), fb messenger, Facebook.
If the above are done and stil there are no notifications, then check in the app itself. The last but not least, reflash the firmware.

anyway can i ask what rom you are running, thanks

It's seems when my screen is off, the data is also off because i've shown 0.00kb/s when there is a connection to internet (wifi or data)
but when i turn it on, 1 sec later it show 0.00kb/s so when screen is off, no data ??

If your data will work all the time, then the battery will be drained fast. The phone connects from time to time to the Internet and then you'll get the necessary notifications. I cannot tell you how often is this, but you can decrease the time by deselecting Align Wakeup in Power Saving Management.
I am not sure that the way described above is correct, so if someone knows differently, please state.
edit.. thought i found a workaround, but I jumped the gun. Still trying to work this out.
I'm giving up, thinking about sending phone back under the reason of not fit for purpose
Maybe we need to try cuoco rom.
I've installed gapps by myself so maybe they is a bug with it
I've been testing WhatsApp all night, checking every hour if a message will get through and so far it has.... but i bet as soon as i post this it will stop working, that's the luck i seem to have lol
oddly on 19S rom WhatsApp is automatically set up to lock itself in memory, with the lock sign in recents screen, and autostart enabled in permissions
edit, put the phone in airplane mode while i slept, turned airplane mode off and now whatsapp won't get notifications even with the screen on unless i open WhatsAppl
I'm sure it shouldn't be this hard

Firewall problem: WhatsApp messages not arriving (ONLY when the phone is in sleep)

So first of: This is not phone or android version or even firewall-app specific because I've had the problem on previous phones and I know other people who also have this problem.
I'm running a firewall with a whitelist and obviously WhatsApp has Wi-Fi and mobile data allowed. It generally works. I can send and receive messages and media.
But if I put my phone away for a longer period of time (I think around 15 minutes or more) I no longer receive messages until I open WhatsApp.
So for some reason WhatsApp can't establish a connection when the phone is in sleep (or whatever it's called).
I verified this with another person who had the same problem. Turned off firewall and put the phone away for an hour or more, then sent a message and it arrived instantly. Worked for both phones.
I'm guessing that I need to give some other app internet access so WhatsApp receive messages while the phone is in sleep.
P.S: No, it's not that the notifications aren't showing up, it's not some battery saver, I did some research before and no suggested solution worked. Except for turning off the firewall (the 3-4 messages we sent for testing all worked perfectly fine), but since I came up with this idea myself, there was no thread to get some info about it and I didn't really find anything using google (though I found it hard to word the search).

Android (various versions) – Delayed push notifications on mobile data

I have a phone with Nougat 7.1.1, but also older phones (eg with Lollipop and Gingerbread): the common trouble on all phones is that I have an annoying issue when connected using mobile data:
all the apps which relies on push notifications (eg whatsapp, facebook messenger, Hangouts and Gmail) doesn’t receive push notifications in realtime or in a acceptable time: I mean that I receive notifications - delayed - also after 30 minutes or i receive them only when I turn on the screen. On all these phones I use a SIM card of same carrier.
When I am connected using Wifi (so without mobile data) I receive notifications in realtime (in about 1 or 2 seconds).
What I checked is that all these apps have background data always enabled and I don’t use any battery saver app.
Is like if the mobile data, after some minutes of inactivity, falls in a sort of idle status, and needs to be kept awake: in facts, if I use a method to run a ping command every X minutes, the notifications are received in an acceptable time (in few seconds).
Not all of my phones are rooted: on the phones which are rooted I solved by installing the app called “Push Notification Fixer”; I am aware of the fact that there’s also available the “NO ROOT” version of such app, but doesn’t works for me.
I said “if I use a method to run a ping command every X minutes, the notifications are received in an acceptable time (in few seconds)”: I noticed that mobile data of my carrier falls in a “sleep” state after about 7 minutes: so I setup the following command in a Terminal Emulator:
Code:
ping -i 420 www.google.com
420 is the time in seconds, which is equal to 7 minutes.
The ping method, however, cause other issues: it cause a lot of wakeups (as I can see from Better Battery Stats) and sometimes I notice that it hangs: I excluded the Terminal Emulator from battery optimization and from data saver (and I enabled the option “Wake Lock” (to keeps phone from sleeping while running a command) , but this doesn’t help: I also excluded Google Play Services from battery optimization/Doze and I ensured that background data is not restricted
Obviously I’ve also tried to wipe applications cache and uninstall and reinstall applications: however, since with Wifi I don’t have any trouble, seems not a fault of the phone or apps, since I faced this issue on all phones and different versions of Android: always occurs with mobile data but not with Wifi.
Is sure the fact that when I am on mobile data the phone needs to be awake to receive the notifications. I repeat that when I am connected using wifi, the notifications are instant.
I don’t think that Doze is the culprit: as I’ve said I excluded apps and Google Services from battery optimization/Doze.
I also disabled the data saver option. I have notifications delay issue only when connected with mobile data: furthermore the signal strenght of my carrier (4G) is good.
What can I do (a robust and reliable method) to keep the mobile data connection always active?
I also tried by using “Connection Stabilizer” from the Play Store: this app, also have a method to run a ping command every X seconds or minutes, but also this app suffer from the same issue: after a while the ping command no longer works.
I heard of the fact that this issue could be related to fast dormancy: unfortunately, since the phone is not rooted, I can't disable fast dormancy.
I installed this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.wl (Wake Lock - PowerManager): This app implemented a Partial Wakelock: in this way the notifications arrives in 1 - 2 seconds, but the downside (due the Partial wake Lock) is a battery drain.
No one else, here, faced the issue of delayed notifications when connected with mobile data?
As I've said, with Wifi I don't have any issue with notifications; furthermore I am not "forced" to rely on wakelocks.
Kind regards.
were you able to fix this ? i am having the exact same problem on my note 8 running pie with no solution so far

Any way to fix notifications?

None of the notifications are pushing through. The phone is in my hand, I am making a call to my discord account, and the call doesn't get through unless I open the app. It works perfectly fine when I restart the device and start the application. The notifications don't get through if I don't start the app. Same problem with Whatsapp, Skype, and Gmail.
I have tried everything except formatting the device. Disabled battery optimization, given special access to all apps, enabled all the notifications in all the apps, enabled draw over feature whenever possible. My notifications aren't coming through. I use Skype for work, and this is a new device, hardly a month old now.
Does anyone else face the same issue? Any solutions?
Reset app preference.
Check if you have DND enabled by any chance.
Worst case format it.
For Skype, you need to select run in background in skype settings as well(apart from the usual settings and battery options)
Hey, thanks for replying so quickly.
Same problem after resetting app preferences and restarting the device, Shashank1320. Notifications come through till I disconnect from Wi-fi. Once I reconnect, the notifications don't come through.
