Galaxy S5 5.1.1 issues - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

Sometimes there would be no dial tone when calling. I can receive calls but can't make them. When text messaging, I would not be able to send them but able to receive them. Also I would receive copies of the text every hour or so. Clearing the cache partition would cure the problem for a little while but would come back

Bumping

I'm having the multiple text issue too, but was also having that on 4.4 which is why I updated at all. But my issues are overheating (even if it's been doing simple stuff like texting,) apps (most regularly used) are slow to respond with the longest wait being almost a minute or apps (once the mobile itself) freezing when I try to change between them from the recently used one, and while more of a personal issue, I prefer a darker theme for apps and many with 4.4 naturally were, but with 5.1.1, they aren't.
I'm at a point where I'm just going to root the damn thing until I can upgrade the mobile because suddenly I cannot use my mobile like I used to and I cannot stand it.

Google talk messaging/chat problems. OFFLINE/DELAYS

Hi all,
When I had my SGS the google Talk instant messaging service/app was so good I rarely, if ever, used texts to communicate with my partner who also had an SGS.
Now we both have SGS III's and the talk messaging functionality is a whole different league. It's unreliable, slow, goes offline/online constantly, it has become unusable.
Now when I send a talk, it can take 20-30 mins for her to get it, sometimes days! Quite often I'll go to send a talk and my phone shows as offline, even though I've been using it for other things, such as internet etc, so the phone is not in sleep mode and it has internet connectivity. However Talk takes ages to come online after I open the program.
Also the delayed Talks seem to be coming through duplicated.
I'm really missing the sturdy Talk that I used to have and now find myself eating up my monthly phone bill with more and more texts which is really disappointing.
Anybody else have this issue, if so, how can I fix my Talk?
Cheers

Clear the app data m8 that's the usual cause of that problem if your data connection is ok.
Thanks I'll give that a try.
Gtalk
I have the same problem. trued force closing and cleared app data. multiple times. the problem keeps on arising after a few hours. . .

[Q] Push notifications and chat delay

Hi!
I have a few very annoying problems I want to get rid of.
The first is that all sorts of push notifications are often (if not always) very delayed. For example, when someone's played Wordfeud and it's my turn it can take up to 20 minutes before the phone alerts me. Same thing with Whatsapp and other apps. I did a factory reset recently and the problem seemed solved but after just a few hours the delays began to appear again. Both with 3G and Wi Fi.
It is the same thing with the built in FB-chat. Sometimes messages are also delayed for up to an hour. Occationally when I enter the Message hub and swipes to Online tab the messages arrives but it's rare. It could at first appear as work when two or maximum three messages arrives but then the conversation just dies and I must go to the Facebook app to view and continue the chat. Also after the factory reset it worked somewhat fine but just like with Push notifications it didn't work long enough... Same here, both over 3G and Wi Fi.
Does anyone have a single clue of what the issue is here?
Is the phone checking for new notifications in a certain pattern, like every 30 minutes?
I'm not completely sure if this is the right forum for this but I'm beginning to be kind of desperate. Notifications on iOS and Android works like a charm and I don't think the Lumia with WP should be behind in this matter.
Extremly thankful for answers.

its not a problem of software, its a wanted feature of microsoft, wp7 doesnt have any multitastking, so if you turn of wifi and whatsapp is running, wifi is turned off for some minutes and if you turn on screen, wifi connects and whatsapp gets your messages, thats what i realized..
next phone wont be wp. :/ nice OS but the little things like this are annoying

Thanks for the reply!
But that's the strange thing, even if i don't turn off the screen and keep the phone "awake" there are no toast. The push notifications were instant for a few hours after the factory reset so there must be something that is "blocking" push messages. Same thing with the fb-chat. The chat should also work without problems even when the screen is turned off.
Me too are also considering walking out of Microsoft on this one. The OS is very beautiful and everything is so thought through but they still have som work to do.
Yes, background agents run every 30 minutes
thats why i wont buy a wp phone anymore. its really annoying and not SMARTphone like!
But shouldn't push messages be pushed through nearly instant?
it should be popup in the second it arrives
Exactly. Even if the screen is unlocked and wifi 3G is connected and all that it still is a delay.
The problem seem to have solved itself! I don't know what I've done but one morning I woke up and everything worked smoothly. Let's hope the issue doesn't return!
Data connection should be enabled for Push notifications to work. Maybe you went above your data cap or sometimes the 3G reception got lost.
Also, are you sure that app uses Push notifications and not regular Toasts sent by a background agent ?

[Q] Delayed Hangouts and call issues

Hi, for past few months I'm having issues with Hangouts app, as sometimes, messages (not SMS) are sent/received with very big delay (around 30 min or even more). And this applies both to WiFi/3G connection. Also, all other phones/tablets I have are not suffering from this at all, so, I think it's unlikely that this is internet connection issue. I've already tried reboots, clearing cache, and so on, but nothing seems to make any difference.
The second issue I'm having with this phone is, that sometimes when I call somebody, phone puts that call on speaker for itself.
Or is there some kind of preset for specific contact to automatically put that call on speaker? Because, I'm having this issue usually with only one person.
I thought about restoring to factory defaults, but first I wanted to ask if somebody has the same issue and possibly solution. Or maybe even flashing custom ROM, all I want is to get this finally working.
Thanks in advice

Internet (WiFi&GSM) randomly stops working until reboot

My Samsung S7 Edge (running Android 7.0) has, for a while, been having the following problem: every so many days, without any obvious triggering cause, the internet ceases to work - in any app, and both on WiFi and on mobile connectivity. Things are only back to normal (i.e. the phone receives data through its WiFi/3G connection) if I restart the phone.
This occurs maybe once every 2 days or so, and is of course very disruptive. I always let the phone install OS updates but it doesn't look like any of them fixes this bug.
Any ideas? Thanks!
same here with a galaxy s8+. I observed that happens when hanging up the phone, especially in car, via bluetooth (though, the bluetooth detail can just be random).
Hm, in my case it doesn't seem to be at all related to phone calls, or at least it's not obvious how (perhaps after a given number of calls, the internet freezes, though it seems very random)
any more thoughts at all?

Problem installing apps & sending/receiving texts

Hi all,
I've read a bunch of useful stuff on this forum and hope you guys could provide an answer for the 2 issues I have on my Honor 7.
Since a few days sending texts takes extremely long time. Incoming texts also have a serious delay (hours later). I've checked with the provider and they don't have any issues on their network.
Second issue I noticed is that installing/updating apps from the Play Store is also very slow. Downloading is normal but then it just waits and waits a very longtime before it actually starts installing ... I cleaned the cache and restarted my phone already several times but no luck.
Before I continue with a backup and factory reset, I would like to ask for any ideas or thing I could try to resolve these issues.
Thanks in advance !
Update: I did a factory reset and had my phone import apps/settings etc from my Google account.
texting and installing/updating apps were working fine again So me was very happy !
However ... a few hours later of checking apps and re-configuring them ... I noticed a had the exact same issue again ! :crying:
Clearly there is some software/app issue causing this, but I have no idea which one, how or wat is causing this.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
I've factory reset again my phone and am now configuring manually without the Google backup ... #wasteoftime
memory left
both problem(slow text sending/receiving & app downloading) have one thing common issue with the Network. can u run a internet speed test or try using home broadband/wifi
also can you check and share how much phone memory you got
how many apps u got running in the background
when i used honor 7 i did notice that phone get slow/unresponsive if your internet is poor
also uninstall/disable facebook messenger or at least roll back to basic version if u must want to keep it
updates mostly make phones slow
I have the Honor 7 premium and it has 32GB storage and 3GB RAM. Before I did the first factory reset today, there was about 5GB of free storage space. The downloading of apps is actually just fine but between 100% downloading and beginning the actual install, there was a veery long waiting time.
I don't use Facebook on my phone and the working speed of my device was also still working fine. it's just sending texts that just takes ages and I'm receiving texts with hours of delay.
I'm sure it's not the network or provider as after both factory resets it worked fine again. It still does after the 2nd reset but now I'm installing/configuring apps one by one and testing sending/receiving texts every 2-3 apps.
I'm pretty sure it is related to some app conflict that appears al of a sudden but have no idea what ....
Think I've found it ... devexpert.net Weather & Clock Widget
I uninstalled it (which took a long time) and Play Store installing/updating + sending & receiving texts is working fine all over again
I've used this weather widget for about 2 years and just a few days back it started causing issues. How strange is that?
