VIDEO- 5 Reasons NOT To Buy The OnePlus 2 - OnePlus 2 General

The OnePlus 2 looks like a great device. I am especially excited to try out the new home button/ fingerprint scanner. The alert slider looks pretty cool too. There are plenty of reasons to buy this device, but there are a few major omissions by OnePlus in this device. Here is my list of 5 reasons NOT to buy the OnePlus 2. What do you think? Are these issues enough to keep your from buying the phone?

OnePlus X vs. OnePlus One?

Hey there,
I really like my OPO, one of the greatest phones I owned so far. However, I really miss the European LTE Bands and sometimes when I have to use my phone with one hand I wish I'd own a slightly smaller phone. I found out about the OPX only today and was surprised I didn't stumble over any news about it so far.
So yeah as you see, the OPX actually sounds like perfect replacement of my OPO since the rest of the specs seem to be similar or identical.
I realize it just came out a few days ago and that there aren't too many people who already hold one in their hands, however I'd appreciate what you guys think about how the OPX compares to the OPO (especially camera quality and battery life).
Camera seems certainly better than oneplus one. The battery will get you through the day but not like opo which could easily go through a day and a half. The aesthetics are certainly great however you would want to put a cover given how delicate the phone is.
Btw the camera is really awesome

@milanraith, I'm kind of in the same boat. I never had a new OnePlus One but love it except my camera stopped working. Well am getting my first new OnePlus would love to buy both OnePlus one & OnePlus X but I don't have that kind of money besides I can only use one phone at a time. lol I'm so torn OnePlus One on one hand & OnePlusX on the other. I'm even learning how to tweet, instagram, facebook!!!

My impressions on the OnePlus 2

In terms of looks, the 1+2 definitely looks better than its predecessors. Let's face it, it feels like a good phone, not a made in China phone.
For the hardware, I feel like there's everything we need, glad they listened to us about the alert slider and FP sensor. The camera is great, processor doesn't overheat as many other users report.
The ONLY time when I was reconsidering my purchase was when I was on OxygenOS, let me explain why :
The launched they built is complete garbage comparatively to the one plus one, big disappointment. They got rid of a bunch of useful apps we were all using on the one plus one such as the camera app, maxxaudio, the themes customizations were splendid and much more.
I have recently switched over to kingmartians hydrogen os and you know what... All the issues that we have been facing with oxygenos are inexistent in it. Its REALLY smooth, even the FP reader is faster. For all of you that doubt of the oneplus 2 should give it a shot, totally worth it. I finally feel like I'm getting what I paid for.
Feel free to post any comments, I'd love to hear from you guys as well. How do you enjoy your oneplus 2?
I am glad to you like the 1+2
The phone is worth the price.
Think marshmallow will enhance 64 bit performance?
Any updates on 6.0 for OPT? The official version ?
Sorry, but my honest opinion is the following:
there is not one rom for the 1+2 that comes completely without major bugs.
No big developer crew has ever made it to the one plus 2 and all the adoption of the big customs roms are "unoffical".
So, I believe it was a big mistake to break up with Cyanogen.
They completed the "package" around the oneplus 1 and made it perfect. It was a phone that people were drawn to.
Now for the 1+2 you see the company already heavily investing in advertising to "push" the people towards buying the device.
Another sign for the medium success of it...
It have it laying in my drawer, but since there is no respectable rom I could go with, it will probably stay there until it's sold
Just my pow...

Is there any phone that even comes close to our Nexus 6P?!

Hey all,
Like some other fellow Nexus 6P users here I'm sure you are getting curious of what other phones are out there, that can please our every geeky need.
But I just can't fine one - everything I want is in this phone!
I have been looking around but yet I always keep drawing up a pro's and con's list in my mind and can't help but sum up the 6P as having:
- Great battery life (once tweaked accordingly)
- Dual speakers
- Perfect display
- Fast and reliable
- Great size
- Access to latest Google updates
- Great camera (the best I've had on a smartphone)
- Etc.
Though despite all this, the desire to at least 'window-shop' and look around for the next greatest phone is still there. The new Xiaomi Mi Mix looks interesting, as I feel like I could go bigger on the screen size. Same with the Phab 2 Pro, the 6.4" size appeals to me but then seemingly I'd lose out on the great camera (low light especially) and the dual speakers.
Anyways I thought I'd start a thread to hear some other opinions on this, if any other released/to be released phone has almost got you swayed into parting with the beloved...
Sorry
But calling Nexus 6p screen perfect
That's weard
The screen is ****
Really old AMOLED with bad colours
Coming from a 2013 Droid MAXX, the screen is perfect for me. Guess for someone coming from a Samsung Galaxy would feel differently.. but yes, this phone is just about perfect. I especially like the camera's low light capabilities.

Haha.. glad to see I'm not the only one who looking for another phone but hard to decide bc I too love my 6P.
Been thinking of the One plus 3 not really a upgrade but something different but waiting on the One plus 4 . But it's gotta have good Dev support and the One plus definitely has that.
But still looking at others as well.. undecided bc my 6P has been a perfect fit for what I like in a phone :/

I too am pretty dang content with my 6P, esp. with some of the "Pixel exclusive" features we've gotten
However, I won't deny that the 4GB/821 specs inside the Pixel XL are tempting at times...but I'm thinking I'll either get my wife a normal Pixel to upgrade her GS6 edge and wait to get myself whatever comes out next year, or just wait on both of us till then. I'm not as against the Pixel as some, but I'll admit that $870 (+ tax) for a 128GB, similarly-sized phone is a bit of a tough pill to swallow for me personally lol
I had the pixel for a a few days and returned it because the price difference to performance from the 6p felt negligible to me. 7.1.1 on the 6p fixed a lot of quirks I had and flashing the pixel stuff over made me more than content to keep the 6p thru this year. Looking forward to seeing what HTC has in store for their next flagship.

Hmm then it is a shame that we have such diffeent experiences with this phone - the colours, for me, are perfect - no tweaking of them required. The blacks are black with no 'bleeding'. Absolutely great for me...

Yup the low light camera is literally the best I've had. Very consistently impresses me, even still to this day!

Indeed, that price tag is a hefty one and one that I cannot justify spending.... at least not yet anyway. I would miss the larger screen and the speakers, being the real tangible difference. Like you say, features have/will come our way with software updates, but I really do appreciate a great sound and nice sized display - yet to find this elsewhere though!!?
The "bezel-less" Xiaomi Mi MIX does look like a nice phone. So that may tick the box of size, but would the screen quality be as nice? And the speakers? And the low light camera capabilities?? Not sure on that one...
The Huawei Honor Note 8 looks good too, very big screen which I think I'd like, but overall just don't think I'd be as happy as I am now.....
Dam restlessness eh!!
I'm definitely glad I went with the 6p also. I don't mind spending the money upgrading. Was looking at note 7 or iPhone 7 plus. But the price for the Pixel xl to me I couldn't do. I just can't put the Pixel in the same category as the other phones.

lol do you own a Nexus 6P? The display is the exact same as the Galaxy S7 screen. They only difference is the S7 screen is set a few nits brighter. Deep blacks, vibrant popping colors and great contrast. Maybe you have sRBG turned on for "true colors"? If not maybe you just have a sub-standard quality display on your phone.
there is no doubt to the nexus 6p is good device but not the best in my opinion! maybe so hard to believe but my ex device (htc M8-32 g) is far better! at the least for me!
here is some reason: I've multi rom with 3 base of Android (kitkat/lollipop/Marshmallow) and switch between the without any issues. (sense rom, google play or CM base rom doesn't matter! all of them work perfect!)but if this don't convince you let me tell you the custom sense rom developers in htc really perfect (most definitely the Viper rom of Venom groups plus insertcoin roms and sky dragon roms) having too dozens options for customize and in the end better quality of speakers and headphones sounds and have a great sound batch like Harman/Kardon sound batch and no come up short in battery even with a smaller size of battery and too smooth without any lag. may rest in peace my dear M8! ??
sure I know the nexus 6p's camera to far better than M8 but I'm not a mobile camera user and need very rarely to it
however I like my nexus 6p and one of the best device I'd
sorry for my bad english-noob language

That phone does look like a nice one for its time, there's nothing wrong in holding love still for such a device! I'm in the same love for the 6P right now, for me, the best its been ever for a mobile device. But as theres only so many roms to try, my flashoholic nature starts wanting to wander into the 'next device' territory......whatever that may be haha
I'm keeping an eye on the Huawei Mate 9 Pro up coming announcement November 4th...

The Pixel XL is the same price as the iPhone 7 Plus. It may not be worth the money to some but it is the best Android phone to date. The 6p is great I still have mine but the Pixel XL is fantastic. If you like Android and could spend the money on an iPhone 7 Plus but not the Pixel XL. You need to get your hands on one and play with it. If you can get a 6p cheap it is hard to beat for the money.

If you are into rooting/modding, you can easily fix this with a custom kernal to your liking.
Answer the op. Nothing beats Huawei mate 8(soon 9) when it comes to overall phone but you have other issues to deal with. While im waiting for the Mate 9 to release and after I broke my Mate 8 I had to find a phone to hold me over.
Nexus 6p
Lg v10 and maybe g3./4
Note 5 but doesnt have enough storage for me.
Couple of other chinese phones but you lose lte most of the time.
Nothing really unless you want baby note aka s6/s7 edge.
For my personal taste, maybe axon 7 if the community is behind it. Note 7 if that whole thing didnt happen.
edit- If an updated version of the 6p ever released with half the top/bottom bezels, It would be the goat. Any htc is not in the same realm as 6p
My 6P battery was degraded. I think to change to another phone.
But I still finding...... :silly::silly::silly:
Sorry but the Nexus/Google phones have one thing that will keep me....Project Fi with CDMA-GSM LTE Switching. No other phone can do it because the software just isn't there.

Samsung devices have a "SUPER AMOLED" and the difference is noticeable. I came from a note 4 (2014 release) to a nexus 6p(2015 release) and I saw the difference in screen right away. Nothing beats a Samsung Galaxy screen, even if the nexus uses a Samsung amoled screen. I can barely see anything on this screen in the sun, which was never a problem for my note 4. Other than that, nexus 6p is a solid device.. I got it for $330 for the 64gb gold. I probably wouldn't have paid more than $350 for this device thou. Definitely feels like a downgrade from my 1 year older note 4 (sadly I broke it).
Coming from a lg v10 I was decided between a lg v20 and this phone so I bought the 32gb 6p then I'm like ok this phone is awesome but I had one problem. Internal storage was only 25gb on the 32gb variant I filled it up within a week or two then I'm like ok great phone I'm getting 128gb. I bought my fiance the lg v20 it is a awesome but the roms available for the Nexus 6p is way better than the lg v10 or 20 I had the lg v10 before this 6p. The difference is amazing, the lg v10 was slower and couldn't even keep up with me.
The only thing better than the 6p is a 6p with 12hrs SOT

Which would you choose, s9 plus or Oneplus 6?

I can get both for around the same price range, and I actually like the notch, so that does not bother me. If I do go ahead and buy the s9 plus it will be the US variant meaning no custom ROMs or nothing while the oneplus 6 will definitely have all of that and more. But the s9 plus will probably have a better camera as it does every year. What do you guys think? In a dilemma of sorts right now....
note 9 incoming
You're going to get skewed results by posting this in the S9+ forum...
I have had the last few OnePlus devices and decided to move back to the S9+. The build quality is a huge reason but also on the S9 I find I can just leave it alone and use it and be happy, with the OnePlus there were always stupid little inconsistencies that led me to messing with different ROMs and kernels trying to fix it, the camera was absolutely trash on all of them so far, not just hardware but software too. I felt like I was fighting against both the 3 and 5 rather than just enjoying the experience like I am the S9.
+1Bump
Anyone else?
I was prepared to get the OP6 until I saw a few design changes. The first was going from metal to glass. I much prefer metal as it's sturdier.
The real deciding factor was the notch, however. I hate this notch fad. Petty? Maybe, but it's an ugly distraction of a design feature to me. So it was the S9+ for me. So far I'm quite happy with it.
LG G7 or LG V40.
LG for life.
i had a oneplus 3t and a oneplus 5. both of them were underdeveloped and had bugs similar to what you would see with a custom ROM. i like the fact that oneplus lets you unlock and root without consequence, but i need a good stock ROM to default to, and a little OIS wouldn't hurt. OOS is buggy as hell and it exemplifies the oneplus name. when they say they are adding new features i pucker a bit. when sammy says they added new features, i get all squirmy with glee.
i actually don't like samsung a lot, but they do have the best product out there.
I'd say the Oneplus 6, but rumors say it will include the same camera/sensor as the 5T. If you value mobile photography at all, the S9 is the (far) better option.
To be brutally honest here if you can get a Oneplus phone for around the same price as a Galaxy s phone of the same year. That Onplus is Wayyyyy overpriced and therefore not worth it. The only way for the Onplus to compete with a premium tier phone is with a considerable mark down. At least 200$ less or else it`s not worth it.
Right now on craigslist, I can buy a sealed s9 plus for 600 and s9 for 500
They teasers were commenting on the camera being better, don't think they will use the same sensor.
If you get the Exynos version you'd also be getting the faster CPU

7T Pro vs 7T Pro McLaren Edition vs Pixle 4 XL

HI!
I am "buying" new phone serval years now, now i am decided i will buy new phone in a week
I am leaning towards oneplus (i am stile oneplus one user, since the begining)..
I would like to hear your opinion, which one of this three is best? 7T pro, Mclaren Edition (is it worth 100 bucks more for this one) or google 4 Pixle XL
tnx for help guys
Unless camera is a must, OnePlus is definitely the way to go.
This year's pixel was very disappointing
OnePlus 7 T Pro should be a great 1st OnePlus device! Cheers
Apart from the esthetics, dont think that 12GB RAM is gonna be noticeably better.
I would prefer Pixel 4 XL 128gb if its has reasonable price, better design, minimum of 8gb ram.
hmmm
tnx for respond..

I agree Pixel has better software for camera (better pictures) but lets say oneplus 7t doesnt have so bad photos?
For now, i am leaning towards normal one plus 7T pro

thats what i like to hear
I agree that the Pixel 4 cameras are the only real "better in class" feature over the Oneplus 7t. The 7t will likely get a GCam port eventually, but it may not have every camera feature that the Pixel 4 has. Everything else on the 7t beats what's available on the Pixel 4, including the price.
Unfortunately, for me the camera is probably the most important feature on a phone. So I'm waiting till Black Friday to see real "hands on" reviews of both phones and hopefully catch one or both of these phones on sale before I make my final decision. If I find a good deal, I'll upgrade and give my wife my 3a XL as it's time for her to get a new phone. If not, she'll likely get a 3a herself. The 3a series has been a great phone (but again, for me the camera is extremely important).

Hmmm i wouldnt say op7tpro has bad camera, maybe isnt as good as pixl 4 but it still very, very good?

I'm also enjoying my 7T Pro very much!
I would say that the camera's are very good now! Not bad at all!
In the past OnePlus was not very good, but with this 7T series they made big steps in the right direction.
Also the super macro mode is much fun to use.
I owned every type of Pixel XL up till now, still owning a 3a XL and there is not much of a difference with the 7T Pro.
These threads are absolutely pointless
OnePlus 7T Pro
HI All,
I may be a future covert to a One Plus from a Pixel 2 XL. Like many I too are disappointed in the Pixel 4xl roll out. I really thought they would make a phone to totally kick butt. But sadly no and it gets me thinking in the One plus direction. Since some of may be former Pixel owners , I need to know, besides the camera , what will I miss?? I'm all about performance. Will I miss the launcher? Active edge does nothing I like. I've written to Google to have the active edge set to answer the phone, like most phones used to when the has press home button. At least My Note 5 did. And that's the feature I miss the most.
Thanks for any reponses

Camara will be definitely missed. But OP 7T pro camera is not bad. It clicks decent pictures.
Launchers can be replaced. OnePlus launcher has a clean interface. You might miss the Google feed on stock launcher, but there are alternative launchers to get the Google feed.
Lift to answer on OP 7T pro is awesome. Just put your phone to ear and call is answered. You won't need active edge
Thanks, more great info!
