Rooting Status: Unknown - Xperia Z4 Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anyone provide the TA partition for the device? (Not sure if it can be used from other device)
Have the rooting status as unknown after official bootloader unlock. Flashtool relock not working and neither does flashing the stock software seem to help. Fastboot keeps saying command not allowed to everything.
Any ideas welcome.

hello i have same problem. did you find the solution for this problem ?

Not as of yet, Sony support responded to wait for next release, which apparently is supposed to have some fix to it, maybe.

any progress bro ?
because .260 is rolling out

beware of MyXperia!
Disable MyXperia before unlocking the bootloader!
It is in the SONY documentation (maybe you did not read it and just clicked it away).
Do not EVER enable MyXperia again after unlocking the bootloader. You will brick your device.
TA partition is lost for unlocked bootloader. No known way to recover it or to backup it before unlocking with Lollipop only devices.
Content of TA partition is device specific.

@DHGE are there any solution for this problem ? I already update to latest is by the xfirm and flashtools but my rooting status still unknown and when I start my tablet for the first boot I unchecked everything that have Xperia sign..
Please help me I need the tablet to be root..

are there any solution for this problem ?

You need to send it in to SONY for repair.
Maybe they swap the board or can do some flash magic.
This will be no warranty repair.

Unlock Bootloader (Hard bricked my x10)

can somebody please help me i just try to unlock the bootloader i followed your instructions. i use the command msm7227_semc.
after i press the button to continue then some text appear and seems to be working then i read some word like rooting, rebooting etc. after the phone starts then it shuts off. that's it i try to turn it on, and remove battery, connect to computer but there's no effect or it does'nt respond anymore. please help me i don't know what to do now. i try to surf the net of what seems to be the problem, someone says that the phone is dead and the only thing to get it work again is to JTAG it. is it true? thanks in advance and i 'm looking forward for your answer.
which method did u use? The developer method or the normal method. and which firmware are you on 2.1 or 2,3
Sir i use the method that posted in the link here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225
i stop on this section because my phone shuts off and i cannot power it on
run msm7227_semc.cmd in the directory you unzipped the unlocking files to and press any key to start the unlocking process. Go to step 5b.
Sir ynkamat i know that you're an experience person on how to unlock bootloader, i already bring my x10 phone to Sony Ericsson service center here in the Philippines Manila. but they told me that they can't repair my phone anymore, because their computer can't detect my phone anymore. and they even don't know the term bootloader so i've decided to bring it to a fly by night cellphone technician and they will Jtag my X10 but in a condition that i'll pay $35 to jtag or repair my phone. i will get my phone tomorrow morning. sir after i get my phone can you please tell me what is the simple and more accurate method to use in order to unlock the bootloader. Thanks in advance and i appreciate all your help.
Hi zerolock1, firstly why did you refer to boot unlocking method of some other phones. The right method is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254087
Damn. To be very frank I couldnt unlock my bootloader via this method. So I downgraded my fw from 2.3 to 2.1 and we have a simple one touch tool for unlocking bootloader in the android development section. After that I upgraded back to 2.3 and I am happy to avail benefits of it.
Are u mad u are trying to unlock bootloader with wrong tool and it will brick everytime u are trying to unlock bootloader with x8 tool on x10?
U need this tool and guide here

Hopeless?
I've done in my X10 and have attempted everything from here I can find. I can't unlock bootloader because it won't flash properly =( Always goes to 99% and fail. PCC, PCC repair, SEUS, Flashtool all fail
Since you're at least seeing the Sony Ericsson logo, there's still hope yet & your phone isn't a true brick (yet!). So you should be able to at the very least flash the 2.3.3 recovery image by DoomLord & get back to stock formware...
Are you sure you have all the proper drivers installed on the system...

I have a problem when I put my x10 into flash mode it says Error in processHeader : 31 : A device attached to the system is not functioning.PLS help me...sry for my bad english

[Q] x10 wont go into the bios thingy to let me hard reset?

Hello all,
Got an xperia x10 of a friend, now im trying to do a hard reset on it by doing this -
Turning it off
Hold the bottom left and right key and then press the on button to try and get it to go into the bios thingy? (not sure what they call in on phones)
and it wont work it just turns on??
Getting annoying as im also thinking about rooting the phone and putting jelly bean or ICS on it but I cant as I cant get into the bios thing
Help would be great please
Sorry its an xperia x10i if that makes any difference
for the "BIOS" thing. Do you mean recovery?
if you don't have it then just get it via flashtool
There is no hard reset n x10 only soft reset,or do it by this way:
1 From the Xperia 10 Home screen, tap the applications bar.
2 Tap Settings > SD card & phone storage > Factory data reset > Reset phone.
3 Enter your screen unlock pattern.
4 Tap Erase everything.
or just use pc companion to wipe everything
Hello, Cheers for the replys, yes that's the recovery I meant, but hmm im new to all of this.
and cheers will give that wiping a go..
So my phone is currently on 2.3.3
all standard,
Can one of you or someone help me with the following,
First I need to unblock it as it is currently locked to virgin or tmobile I think and I would like to use either o2 or orange,
I would then like to Root it and then install ICS or JB on it
I have never done this before so as much help would be really appreciated
Thank
You need to find a shop or someone who uses setool 2 to unlock the phone as it will unlock the bootloader at the same time, if you use any other software to unlock the phone you wont have any network if you unlock the bootloader afterwards the only ways to have a signal is by unlocking with setool 2 or via the unlock code from the network provider, once your bootloader is unlocked you can proceed to flash an ics/jb rom just follow the instructions posted on which ever rom you want to install.

Hardware

Hi people Im posting here in my old forum because of more experienced devs my Question is which part of the hardware is flashmode associated with because my Xperia J won't boot into flashmode only fastboot which is strange because the bootloader is locked. this is my seccond J so all drivers are installed and my first J still works fine. so what part of the device is broken any ideas. Thanks.
The S1 boot ...You cant access/modify/alter it ...You need to use fastboot to unlock bootloader but on locked bootloader ,fastboot is pointless ....
Try it on another computer ...Windows loves to ignore flashmode for no reason at all...

I flashed my other J before and straight after. so would it be something wrong with the kernel
No ...
The section "related" to fastboot and flashmode lies before the kernel...
It tells the phone to use the boot.img(kernel) to boot the device..
Basically if you cant get the phone to boot in flash mode, you are screwed...
But i believe it's windows fault ,so try it on other machine ...

I tried to unlock but i never got my unlock code tried several times but does that mean its unlock-able or the code has already been isued.
Try this code to access service menu
*#*#7378423#*#*
Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock should say Yes then only it's unlockable ...
Also ,is this your new phone or refurbished ?
Chances are they dont allow BL unlock on refurbished phone ...

Chances are extremely remote...
You need access to phone partitions ...
Lack of USB debugging prevents that..
No terminal command can be issued to phone
Factory reset is impossible without flashmode ...
You can try asking for unlock code via another email id like prantoroy said but chances look slim...
Just a random thought...try using PC companion and see if you can format using it ...

SGP321 looses gsm signal

I bought this tablet 2 months ago in our local t-mobile. And everything was fine until 2 weeks ago when it suddenly started loosing gsm signal.
At first i thought it had something to do with me rooting it. So i tried repairing it 2 times but with no luck. After that i tried downgrading to 4.1.2 and that didn't work either.
So basically i can be online (surfing, downloading etc.) for few minutes before it drops gsm signal (no signal icon in statusbar) and after few minutes it comes back and then it drops again...
I'd like to know if it can be fixed without taking it to nearest sony repair service. Did anyone encounter similar problem and manage to fix it?
btw bootloader is locked (unlock allowed: no) so flashin another kernel/ROM is out of the question...

Well firmware flashing via SUS repair option usually does that for me.. but yeah, i tried factory reset as well. And about bootloader unlocking i've been searching for a guide ever since i bought it. No such luck... Apparently if it's "bootloader unlock allowed: NO", it's meant to stay that way. At least until someone finds a way around it.
I've got a vague idea about how does rooting work and that tells me if i did a complete wipe and flashed my tablet, how can they detect it?
I mean.. it's a complete reinstall, how are they supposed to know that the tablet was rooted on previous firmware if it currently isn't?

Well im no pro, but don't they have some kind of binary counter witch tells the manufactures the devices has been rooted ? i know that's how Samsung goes about identifying if the devices has been rooted... But Sony im not too sure, Also your theory does hold ground, if you clean install from the ground up then Sony shouldn't be able to tell, if the device has been rooted, also you do know that Sony have a guide on there website on how to unlock the boot loader ? Here check it out http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/unlock-bootloader/

I know about that website. That's how i unlock every sony i come across that needs unlocking
But it also says if the "Bootloader unlock allowed" is NO in service menu, then there is no hope for unlocking the bootloader. At least not officially.. until someone comes with a solution for that..
So i managed to get some extra details on that problem.
Apparently i can't get LTE signal anywhere. And when i get LTE, connection automatically drops.
Could it be that the LTE chip is faulty? Does that mean that i'll probably get another device... because somehow i doubt that theyll try to replace the motherboard

Dead Moto Z!

Last thing i remember is my phone restarting everytime after flashing the 540mb OTA. So i did some stupid ****. First i did a factory reset from the stock recovery, the flashed the nougat firmware. Then i noticed that there was no internal drive, so i ran this code "fastboot flash partition gpt.bin" and my phone was dead after that.
So i took it to the service centre, and they told me that they're going to replace the motherboard. My only concern is the unlocked bootloader. After they replace the mobo, are they gonna see the unlocked bootloader warning?? coz if they do.. it'll be a mess :crying:
Surely the new mobo will have a locked bootloader again, and a new IMEI. It'd be like a new phone
Replacing the motherboard usually means an entirely new phone internally.
Which means it also has a different bootloader from the one you originally had. Chances are that it'll be locked and you'll have to unlock it again.
It's also a good idea from this point on to have a factory image for the stock firmware lying around in your desktop just in case an update causes a softbrick.

I do. I have both MM and Nougat firmwares on my pc. This time it was a hard brick. And i'm not going to unlock my phone this time. There's no way to relock the bootloader.
Just got a call from Motorola. They told me that my phone is rooted and it won't be covered under the warranty :'( And they're asking for 80% of the price of the phone to repair it. My only option is to get the motherboard from somewhere and repair it myself. Can someone please send me a link to buy the Mobo for Moto z?
