Nexus6 Port? - Firefox OS Q&A

Has anyone ported this to the Nexus 6? If not I would be willing to try with the port tool if its possible. I found a site with titled "Firefox porting requirements" but I want to find out if it exists before going through that. Anyone who wants to collaborate (if this can be/has not been done) is welcome to, pm me.

We are working on this in my company \o/
The port is not perfect yet though, but if you want to try it, you can clone https://github.com/Phoxygen/B2G and try to build it.
Don't hesitate to open issues/PR to our repo! I don't guarantee a rocket fast answer (we are a small team atm), but we'll look at them for sure! Feel free to ping me here or on mozilla irc server

Offering FREE web hosting for your creations!

MOD EDIT: JUST TO CLARIFY. WHILE THIS IS A GREAT IDEA AND WORTHY OF BEING TEMPORARILY STUCK, THIS ISN'T AN OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED XDA SITE AND SHOULD BE USED AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Thats right!
Im offering free hosting to anyone who is creating ROMS, themes, etc
All you have to do is send me an message telling me your interest and i will set up a sub domain and ftp access
my server has unlimited space and bandwidth
Now that is a really generous offer.
Nice one
you are the best !!
i'm in the process of making a new ROM, and will contact you soon
thanks a lot..
What a nice chap
Is that server located in the USA? I'm guessing by your location...
I have a server in the UK that can also be used if desired. It's only 4GB in storage, but I doubt custom ROM's would take up that much space.
Not meaning to take over your thread however, sorry!
The server is in Toronto, the speed may not be the best for all my european friends here but i doubt it's going to be horrible.
The fact i got unlimited space and bw will give them the opportunity to even make a webpage if they want, forums for bugs and stuff.. the're own little portal if they want.
Heh nice! A couple of counter-strike:source servers whilst you at it? Joking.... or am i? no seriously just kidding.
thats hilarious
people still play that game? meh im a console guy anyways!
bump for an awsome offer
Remember, you can use this to host your own domain (if you have one) create your own website, SQL, SSL, everything you need!
Take advantage of this!
Wow thats amazing offer dude
(dont make roms, but just thought deffonatly worth a thankyou not just from the makers, but from the people who will be downloading from it too!)
Gotten a few more, keep them coming!
haha, thanks again btw, been uploading shiz to it already. I am QUITE tempted to host a proxy....with http uploading...
i might, take a look at the site in my sig.. its for themes, and il make new themes once 2.1 sense is released
but yea i could use a host that lets me use my own domain!

just let me know with a pm
bumping for all these new ROMs out there that might need a home
This is awesome work! I am sure ROM builders and Theme designers would love this offer. I can't wait to see VillainROM taking advantage of your offer.
kriEv,
Sent a PM regarding this offer. A very good one, and I'm sure more ROMs will be glad to take you up, especially if it means no more waiting on hosting sites and faffing around...
Cheers,
pulser
EDIT, and BTW, for the poster above me, I will be likely looking to host some mods for villainROM such as (hopefully) JIT for a stock build etc. and maybe some themes requested by users. The end idea to make a 'mini-kitchen' to store the mini update.zips, then folks can come along and help themselves to some ingredients for their ROM.
At some point, if anyone with scripting experience wanted to come onboard, we could look at making a kitchen, although I guess that would put significant load on the server, which would not really be fair on kriEv... So maybe best to just stick to a DIY kitchen unless anyone has any ideas for the 'drive-through'
Temporarily stuck to get the word out. Thanks for being so generous kriEv!

[Q] How to port Ubuntu Touch to android devices?

I was thinking in try to port Ubuntu Touch to my Android Device (Razr D3).
I've saw Ubuntu running on some devices, but only devices that developers give attention (Nexus series per example). I've saw once Ubuntu Touch running in a Xperia Mini Pro, but did not understand how that guy ported the SO to the Xperia series.
Well, my doubt is: Where do I start this job? Where do I get the files to try something? How do I create compatibility for my device?
I really don't understand anything about this, I want to learn. And, if success, try to port Ubuntu to all Razr series.

(apologies for crap urls, still a new member here........)
Best place atm is wiki dot ubuntu.com/Touch/PortingFlippedInProgress but it's still kind of a mess given the ubuntu team hasn't given it many updates recently to reflect the flipped images. Unless you're well experienced in messing android with both android and ubuntu I'd give a miss until someone rewrites it.
I've been trying to get my tf201 working for months now to no avail but good luck to you!
p.s. the irc log from a porting day has good info as well irclogs dot ubuntu.com/2013/08/01/%23ubuntu-touch.html

Thanks, but, the links do not work. Can you post a functional link?
Also, I have been searching for something in official Ubuntu page, but a didn't find anything! Dude, is there another forum or ftp severs that stores at least generical images to download? The official comunity seems to do not give a minimal help or importance to work to do ports made by amateurs developers, I cannot understand how Ubuntu Phone be open source if any source is available.
Sent from my XT920 using xda app-developers app
are you including the sub domain when you're entering the urls?

tips and pointers to start devin>>

i had always meant to do some developing but the drop in activity i realized when i moved from the sensation to the rezound really compelled me to start plus i have some work that i really have to do and really dont want to do so you know how it goes. Anyway to it
i started by googling how to build android roms which lead me to xda university giving me a nice expaination as to the various parts of android which i was already familliar
another search lead me to the offical how to build android from source page. i had a few concerns so i thaught i would ask here
i have knowlage building various web applications(php,js,ect) and not the let the fromework so this for me kinda apps i like thinking and innovating. i have a little experience with c++(i was at the stage of learning a gui when my old laptop crashed) so i think i have atleast good enough programming experience to catch on to java at a nice pace. Am currently reading and following googles nice little guid on developing android. Am in the process of setting up work envo (already got ubuntu 12.04 up). and thaught i would just leave a post here to see if anyone had any advice for me?
what i wanna do is be able to port for us,build original roms AOSP they call it for us, build and or port sense roms for us and eventually get to the point where i can get us sense5 or help neo(or any other dev) help us get sense 5. oh and i think i would like to build/modify kernels as well. oh oh and being able to invent exploits to get root or s-off for devices i might get in the future.
Question: while i was reading i was seeing where the buiding process was doing alot of synceing with google servers ect. i dont actually want to submit whatever garbage i might write to them while am testing so im still on the right track following the guid here correcto??
short version: I wanna build android custom roms ect not just edit files and put it out am i on the right tract following the guid here (i already know a lil programming)? http://source.android.com/source/initializing.html
any advice/resources/links welcomed
oki am on the page that says "building and running" i dont see anything for our device am guessing thats because development from aosp has stopped for us and thats where ppl like neo and cyanogen make thier magic. what is the next tut or read for me?
Try this. You could always pull Neo's CM 10.2 repos instead of the 10.1.

Team OctOS Help Wanted

Help wanted:
Over the last few weeks we have been working feverishly at trying to make the switch from lollipop to Marshmallow. In addition, we have been trying to switch source from CM to Aosp. This has been a daunting task. We are working with a limited staff and are finding it to be a bit overwhelming. So why am I telling you this? Well frankly we have seen some great community builds of non supported devices being posted from all over the world. There are some talented folks porting our rom. Perhaps some of those folks may be willing to use their talents to help our cause? In the forums, we have seen some talented helpful users contributing to make OctOs better. Must be able and willing to develop and build for any/all devices we support. Don't worry about not having the device, we have plenty of awesome testers that will attempt to break whatever you throw at them lol. Also you must have your own build environment and stable internet. Serious inquiries only and please email us at [email protected].
Hey guys, we're looking for a jflteatt tester for 6.0MM . If anyone is interested email us at [email protected]. I'll get back to you asap as I'll be working today, or I'll have one of our devs respond if I can't. Serious inquiries only, must be willing to test builds as we post them & know how to restore your device & use hangouts. (Very rare you'll need to restore) but its a must you know how. We won't release or continue to build jflteatt w/o at least 1 tester. 2 would great. Thanks again. Team OctOS ?

Donate developers for Redmi 5

Hi,dont understand the situation about developing for our Rosy - why Juanan dont post here his ROM´s directly himself?I want support this guy or other developers too,to get more ROMs or maybe better one of them very stable
I know,we dont have 8.1 source code for Rosy yet ,so its difficult to port or develop time is needed and time is money ...
yeah it would be awesome and i would donate if i could but right now i'm very broke and can't do that but atleast i can support with words because we really need developers to help on our redmi 5 roms and especially juanan who would be great if he directly would post and help us with bug fixes of the treble roms and other roms since he is a really great developer
I will agree ... he is a very good person and needs help
i handle juanans roms on xda, since we spoke and he sayd that xda is too much for him, with developing and his life i donated to juanan too , so everyone feel free to do the same, since everytime i send him money he was very eager to do more on developing,.. and juanan is a good person too .
Dont understand why or what is hard for him to post his ROMs on XDA too if he is posting it on Telegram /which I find more messy if You want find something from past - everyone there want say something .../ its shame if his hard work is getting lost there,XDA has bigger crowd than Telegram group with around 950 R5 owners
If You spoke with him, tell him that some of us,wants to know how to donate him
thread closed,
Soliciting donations is not allowed. If members decided to donate it should only be because they like the work of the developer and not in search of a new device.
Thank you for your understanding.
Wolf
