Firefox browser on Windows PC does not show comments on XDA news - Firefox OS Q&A

When I click on a news story on XDA and then click to read "comments" nothing shows up. This is on my Windows 7 laptop. If I use Chrome the comments do show up but not on Firefox which is my default browser.
What gives?

This is a Firefox OS forum, not firefox dude.

You can try out mozilla forum or any question answer site to find the solution.

Bolt Browser is a light weight web browser, its been out for ages on Blackberry and a few other devices that can use java apps, it's a bit similar to Dolphin HD. When I was using it on my Blackberry Curve before I switched to Android it would crash all the time, but I used to persevere with it because it was the only way to get the full Facebook and Twitter sites on Blackberry.
It might be worth downloading. I'll download it and test it and report back if it is worth downloading or not.
Roland
It's a little laggy for me, but that could be due to it being in Beta atm. well worth a download though.

I am using this browser, somehow it opens much faster pages than opera mini and has its own IP server.

[Q] Internet Explorer on Android ?

Hello there,
I'm willing to buy an asus transformer tablet and I need to know if there is any possibility to run internet explorer on it, cause I need it for my job and all other browsers aren't fully compatible with the online system of my company. Thanks in advance
I don't believe it will ever be possible at all to run Internet Explorer on Android, specifically because it's Internet Explorer. I don't think you'll ever see it happen, sorry.
I would like more chrome google for android, but I do not think it is possible
Unlikely, Internet Explorer as a Microsoft product is only made for Windows Vista+ (XP is no longer supported as of IE9) and Windows Phone/Zune at this point. The Mac version was last supported up to IE 5.2.3. You could always use a browser that lets you change the user agent. My college forces use to use IE to log into their site, however, I managed to get in with Midori (as a linux user).
As for the Transformer, I have one of those my self and love it. I just want Dolphin Tab to improve (note: Dolphin DOES support the ability to change your user agent.
You could also use splashtop HD to connect to a home computer running windows and use IE from there, I did that to run Windows Developer Preview.

In my experience when I have ran into this Firefox has been accepted as an alternative to IE, but I know it wouldn't work every time.

You will never get internet explorer on Android. Don't hold out for it.
You definitely can try using a browser that allows you to change the user agent, but be sure to test it on your current computer before buying android. Many IE-only websites won't display correctly (or at all) in other browsers, regardless of what the user agent is set to. Its unfortunately common.

I need to use a particular website for work which requires IE browser and the closest I've got is with Firefox and adding an add on called Phony. Although the formatting isn't the best and i can't view some menu items due to this. So really is a pain and not much good in the scheme of things.
Why in hell would you want internet explorer????!! Q

I haven't tried this, but it should work
1.Download Dolphin Browser
2. go to Menu> More> Settings> Dolphin settings> User Agent>
3.click custom
4.enter
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/5.0
or another useragent string(you can get them here: useragentstring.com/pages/Internet%20Explorer/)
What do you want IE?
Not available for android.
Chrome is better
Why are so many people asking WHY he wants it? Can you not read the OP? It clearly states other browsers don't work for his job.
OP, sorry to say, this probably will not come to fruition. =(
I really hate those websites that don't work on other browsers, except the worst browser I ever saw.

Yeah, it's easy for us to say that, but try convincing IT managers from nearly every medium/large corporation in America to switch to browsers made by smaller firms that can't offer the huge support base that MS has. Firefox would be the most viable alternative, but mozilla's already turned away large groups of potential users with their update methodology.

[Q] browser survey

What are peoples experiences with the various browers?? Any comment on whats most speedy and dependable??
3 unknown browsers that I enjoy using are Boat Browser Mini, Maxthon Browser, and Angel Browser.
I find that Boat Browser is very, very speedy, while Maxthon and Angel have really good custom navigation gestures.

Hmm, I don't get many force closes with Maxthon. Although I'm not on amazon.com with a browser much either...
I use Dolphin Browser Mini 2.1.1 pretty much exclusively. Fast, light, stable, easy and intuitive. (I have no idea where I picked up the apk... that was a couple devices ago. If you want it, pm me, and I'll dropbox link it to you.)
Dolphin when I need LastPass, Chrome the rest of the time.

I use Dolphin Browser HD Versio 8.0.0 (the latest from Google Play). It really works well (CM7 SD card boot). I don't use any browser on the native NT side -- only read books from there.

I personally like Chrome the best http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...loGIAw&usg=AFQjCNH15rvlo-p7MbD_On-MZgKF4dtXPg but overall I would say it's personal preference all the browsers have unique features, some are faster in benchmarks, some are slower in benchmarks but feel snappier try them out and see which one you like best. Another combination people like is Dolphin Browser http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...3IG4Ag&usg=AFQjCNGhebe32bfMAXehR3GT4w_eSP9ptQ plus the Jetpack addon http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...3IG4Ag&usg=AFQjCNE3xH4OmkgcDclyW75HGWSmqOWuEQ.

I personally like stock but chrome is quick and links to the one on my laptop...also dolphin browser!
I like Firefox Aurora the best. It's pretty fast, and I love how you can sync all your bookmarks with your other devices using them.

There are many variables involved in what the speed of a Browser is going to be on any given device, Not least of which is the Data Connection. Which plays a large part. That being said the same Browser, on the two of the same Devices, with two different Data Connections, will act differently.
Cant say which is the fastest...but personally prefer Dolphin Browser (and chrome for the sync features)
opera mini is very speedy however because of the fact the pages are loaded on a server it isnt very optimal for downloading and pages with javascript or flash player
Sent from my U8160 using xda premium
Dolphin, Chrome, Opera
I had never installed Dolphin, I tried it recently & i think is fast. Chrome is still heavy on resources for my Galaxy Grand where as Opera saves on bandwidth.

I've tried all the android browser's and in my opinion the fastest one is next browser. It also supports flash and as user agent so you can view HTML 5 without much fuss. Try it for yourself I think you'll be impressed. ?

Next requires intrusive privileges, and is created by "GO Dev Team" who have a poor privacy track record. It is the latest in a long line of garbage Android browsers: Dolphin, Boat, One, and most other Android browsers are all crapware.
Spying is not only an invasion of privacy, it wastes battery power, bandwidth, and CPU.
Opera Mini. Chrome can be pretty fast with the right tweaks as well.

I used Boat a lot because HTML5 videos would run very well. Now I found Baidu Browser and it's the fastest I've ever used. Despite having just 512 RAM, it doesn't even reload images on complex web pages when you scroll and loads completely other pages when opened in background.
chrome is the best

For quick browsing on the go, you might want to check out the new browser "Lynx Browser(Free)" at
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.weejim.app.lynx
It does not load images by default and in addition, you can also turn off javascript for added speed boost.

Mozilla's engineering efforts are probably too focused on their own phone OS at the moment to consider porting their browser to others.

I suppose so too. Default browser in ubuntu images for phone is made by Canonical? Is going to be the default browser insted of chromium, firefox or another browser that can appear?
Yep.

Qml qt firefox
As I am aware of Mozilla already has a coded app for Firefox Meego
which has the same luanguge although not built in ubuntus sdk it does run in qt qml.
I can be simply ported in a matter of weeks but I doubt
Cannonical will do so for ubuntu touch and mozilla is focused on other more established.platforms ill ask around gplus and nokia forums maybe we can have community members help to port it
Why
