[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.8.6.1 for Xiaomi Redmi 2 - Xiaomi Redmi 2 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other

Hey, just wanted to share the newest TWRP recovery.
Get the phone to fastboot mode (Vol- + Power) and execute this:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
To boot into that recovery, use either Vol+ + Power or Vol+ + Vol- + Power (second one started to be the case when I flashed about 10 ROMs back and forth).
Don't forget that if you still have stock MIUI ROM and flash the recovery, you must boot directly into it. If you let the MIUI boot after replacing the recovery
with TWRP, it will replace it back with the stock one.

Custom recovery on Global Stable 7.2.3.0

Can not flash any custom recovery instead of mi recovery. can't gain root access. please help........
miui version 7.2.3.0 Global stable.
Phone re starts with mi recovery after flashing twrp from pc. please need urgent help
Hi. I don't use the same Rom as you but how I did my root and TWRP is as follows... I used the Kingroot app to root my phone then used Flashify to flash TWRP.
TWRP is built into the Flashify app, flashes in less than a second.
Good luck
Ahah I had the same problem, it's really tricky. When MIUI boot it replace the recovery so you need to load it before it boot.
1 - Flash TWRP with fastboot
2 - Type fastboot reboot
3 - Quick! Press power + vol up and you will get to TWRP.

Keep trying it will work Once you have it you can flash supersu
What you can do after flashing is using commend fastboot reboot and keep vol + all the time

can't install TWRP 3.0.2

Hey guys ,
So, I am following this tutorial to install TWRP 3.0 so that I can install MM roms. I have rooted stock rom 5.1.1 , build nuber is 14.6.A.1.236 with stock kernel with super su instaled. Is there anyway I can install it ? My device is c6802. The instructions are not working as it says successfully flash but just wont boot into the recovery.

Dont be afraid
Just install flashify app form the market. Download twrp.img and flash it whit flashify app.
Dont recovery from any app.
Just power off completely your phone, then hold vol- and power until you see xperia sony logo, just realease power and keep holding vol down it wil boot up twrp
I had this problem the other day. I had TWRP 2.8.7 installed, then flashed 3.0.2 successfully according to fastboot, but when booting into recovery it kept going to 2.8.7. Try flashing the latest non-rooted stock ROM with Flashtool and Xperifirm, and then follow the instructions in post #3 above. That solved the issue for me.

If you see the words Xperia & Sony in the boot splash (using the PWR + Vol-, then Vol- after vibrate), then your bootloader is not unlocked. And TWRP 3.0-2-0 installs into the recovery partition, which will only be booted into by an unlocked bootloader.
An unlocked bootloader only displays 'SONY' in the boot splash when booting to recovery.

TWRP problem in MIUI 8

I was tried so many way to install TWRP in my redmi note 2 miui 8.
It showed sussefully installed TWRP.
But only stock recovery showed in recovery mode.
What's worng with my device or something error?
Thanks for your answers and supprots...
Thanks again
Try flashing TWRP again with adb and soon after you send the fastboot reboot command keep the vol+ button pressed.
It should boot into TWRP and this should prevent the stock recovery from restoring.

The best way - fastboot mode with PC. Yesterday, after update to MIUI 8, I was able to instal TWRP 2.8.7 using this way.
Maybe you make some mistake when push buttons... ( Phone off. press PWR and Vol + until phone vibrate, then release PWR button but still press Vol + until you see menu TWRP - 10-15 seconds )

TWRP flash succesful, but no recovery boot.

Hi All,
I have an Redmi 3 pro with unlocked BL and the latest "official" weekly 7.3.9 from xiaomi.eu and latest TWRP 3.0.2.0 from official twrp site.
I am unable to flash twrp.
I flash it with fastboot flash recovery recovery.img then boot into it using fastboot boot recovery.img with no issue at all.
Then,
if i reboot into recovery from twrp itself it still works.
if i let it boot the phone in its bootloader (POW+VOL_UP the one where you can choose "download" "fasboot" or "recovery") and i select recovery, it does not boot. The phone boots instead.
if i choose from the updater to reboot in recovery, same.
if i choose from flashify (which shows me "stock recovery" is installed), same.
if i use adb reboot recovery same.
i can only boot it using command fastboot boot recovery.img.
It just looks like the twrp flash says OKAY but it's not being flashed.
I've also tried cofface recovery with no success.
i've also tried official twrp app with no success.
everytime flash goes fine and successfully, but i'm unable to boot the phone in recovery itself.
i must always use fastboot boot recovery.img
Hints?
Hi @lalontra,
Use combination of Power+Vol(+)+Vol(-) button. It should boots you to recovery.
Regards.

Hi,
Did not work.
I have now reverted to 7.2.24 and TWRP from the TWRP from the phone is back. I think something is broken in 7.3.9 global weekly miui build.

For me works
Sent from my Redmi 3 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
The Volume+ and Volume- and Power worked for me even with the rom error. Hold all buttons til you see the Mi logo, then release Power but keep holding both of the Volume buttons. I also reflashed TWRP Recovery via Fastboot, so maybe that was it.
I'm also facing a problem around TWRP 3.0.2.
But different situation
I always failed/unable to boot into recovery or bootloader everytime I click reboot recovery or bootloader button in TWRP recovery mode.
I still try to find a way how to fix it. Because all the articles that I found always explain about "cannot enter to recovery mode from the system", not from the recovery mode itself.
Do you got anything from all the steps above? Please let me know if there something u can share. Thanks in advance
Here's what happened in my xiaomi redmi 3 pro. Always failed to boot into recovery again or into bootloader mode when I'm still in TWRP mode.

Update, once installed 7.3.23 all three buttons combination works!
What still does not work is adb reboot recovery nor reboot in recovery from update page, but this is fine to me.
Thanks a lot!

I'm facing same problem with you since updated to 7.3.9 Global Beta ROM.
I can only boot into TWRP by holding down Power + Vol Up + Vol Down buttons simultaneously.

Twrp flash successful....but booting into stock recovery instead of twrp recovery

I am using a REDMI 3S(having MIUI 10). I unlocked it's bootloader and tried to flash TWRP recovery into my phone...I installed the adb and fastboot (1.30 as the latest ones were not installing).. and download the twrp.img and successfully flashed the recovery.... But as soon as I tried to enter the bootloader and enter into recovery mode.. instead of opening the recovery it boots into system and then when I open the recovery it opens the stock recovery....
I have also tried to directly open the recovery through the fastboot commands but it only boots into system.... I even tried to fastboot reboot and hold VOLUME(+), VOLUME (-), POWER BUTTON to open the recovery but it opens into system only... Please help me I want to install the recovery...
