Hi Guys !
I have SHV-E160S 4G LTE (Korean), and 4G is not available in our city. I want to use 3G.
Whenever I go to Mobile Data Settings and there are two options
(1) 2G & 3G
(2)4G LTE
As I have told you guys I have no 4G but 3G coverage is available. I check the first option but yet the phone keeps on running on 2G, I've heard that these korean SHV-E160s are 3G locked. One of my friend has a SHV-E160L (Also korean) and 3G works perfect on his phone.
Please tell me some way to unlock or use 3G.
P.S. My phone is rooted, using KINGOROOT App

Recently, i travel to USA join the AT&T. everything works fine including
phone call, texting, edge network BUT 3G network.
So is hero and AT&T network compatible?
I really want to enjoy 3g

If you hero work on the network to do all of those said up by you, i think that the 3g doesn't work because you checked to only use 2g network...take a look in menu -> settings -> wireless -> mobile network -> and see if USE ONLY 2g network is enabled...if yes just uncheck it
PS: do you run a custom rom?

Using mobile internet while abroad is extremely expensive!
If it's a European/Asian Hero, chances are it won't match ATT's 3G antenna frequency.
If it's a Canadian Hero from TELUS however, of course it will work, although the device must be first SIM-unlocked.

I bought a 4G SGH-T679 Exhibit II.
all functions are normal but does not work dong.3G enabled just connect to the 2G and the internet is very slow.thought this was blocked by t-mobile as on the galaxy tab. because I live in Vietnam so 4G is not in operation.
We hope to receive help from XDA!

I am using this phone in VN too and I got the same "seem-to-be problem". Per information from T-Mobile Support forum, this may be because of a customization that T-Mobile made to the phone where there is no longer 3G symbol but either EDGE or 4G.

This problem could be related to the band on the phone works usually a TMobile phone works on band 1700 gsm check your at your country provider if use the same.
You probably receiving edge signal which is very slow.
could anyone tell me why the 2100 not work in hong kong?
I think SGH-T679M does NOT support HSDPA 2100 which is used in Asia & Europe for 3G?

Am in Nigeria, Africa using MTN carrier
but my galaxy mega 5.8 duos never connects to 3G or HSDPA service, its always on EDGE and whenever I turn network to WCDMA only, the network goes completely off and sees no reception, when I check other devices like my blackberry or SG note 2, i get the 3G network.
Please what could be wrong, have read all through forums but didn't seem to find a good answer or solution.
Also whenever I tried to access the service mode through *#32489# it doesn't work

Hi need help please , I have a Galaxy S4 I545 Verizon to buy in Spain , apparently to be used , the store bought it from someone who originally bought in the United States. And only I can connect on 3G and even in the back of the device says s4 verizon 4g lte . When I change the LTE network goes without service. Let alone globally connect on 3G, I wonder if I can enable or install 4G LTE bands . Now I live in Sweden and have no lte since only 700 US that band is used. Thank you

you cannot use 4G network because of the bands set in phone are for US/origin of your phone only.

But when i update to 6.0 after few hours the phone reboot and show icons
