Lollipop Review On Grand Prime - Galaxy Grand Prime General

So decided to do a quick review since I've seen a lot of people asking how it performs on the Prime. I've been running lollipop for the last 24 hours and here are the pro and cons that I have come accros so far:
Pros:
1. For the first one I will mention the most relevant one. NO FREAKING LAG!!!! I have yet to experience lag at this moment. Everything is running so smooth and vividly that I can kiss some random stranger on the street.
2. Fix for the music issue in 4.4.4. There was an issue that you have to enable/disable the equalizer time after time after playing one song to get 100% volume sound from the phone. This however has been fixed.
3. Notification settings for the lock screen.
4. Improvement in 3D gaming. Just last night I was suffering some lag with Candy Crush but at the moment I have non so ever.
5. This might be me but it seems that the phone is louder than it's been before.
6. Battery life has always been goon on the Grand Prime. And it seems like it's just as good, maybe even better. Phone has been running around 12 hours after a 92% battery and it currently has 27%. I've been gaming, downloading and chatting the entire day. So it seems you can get around 15 hours of play time with your phone. My GPS location has also been on the entire time.
Cons:
1. Music stops playing while getting a notification which wasn't the case on Kit Kat. It's really annoying and frustrating while multitasking and I hope there will be a mini update to fix this.
2. The phone gets a bit hot while multi-tasking so I'm thinking that Samsung has overclocked the CPU.

Which firmware were you previously? XXU baseband cannot be shifted to XCU baseband.
So did you previously shifted your kitkat baseband to XCU before installing lollipop XCU rom?

Try indian version because that's final and stable release according to youmobile website

So, I'm no the only one experiencing overheating problems?

Hi, I've got a 5.1.1 LP on grand prime g531f.....
And it's...not really good. It's a lot of bugs. Like problem with brightness setup on quick menu. After change level of brightness, when I locked device quickly. The bar of brightness level stay at lockscreen. After that it's impossible to change brightness...bar stay on same level from whole time. But really light change volume. Sometimes touch not respond for a few second.
It's stock rom of course . My wife have same model and same problems weird....

Does the lollipop update give the app drawer a white background? Or does it still have the transparent background?

i will !

Yep, got it. Thanks a lot.
Love the OTA feature...should make getting future updates a breeze, yeah?
Initial experience...quite smooth and fast...will test battery life and other functionality next...what are your update plans for this seeing as CM12's updates are almost daily?

I installed the ROM and it will be my daily driver for sure. I am very satisfied with the stability. Battery life is under testing in the next days.
One bug: on the power menu the icon for the Profile menu is white on white.
I would really appreciate the following developments in the future:
- adding LGQpair
- addig QRemote
- adding multiwindow
- center clock
- full size extended status bar (navigation panel)
- horizontal quick settings (this would be the dream for me, I can help to theme the rubber)
- advanced reboot menu (recovery, bootloader)
Thanks in advance!
I am really amazed by the design of your website and work. Very mature work.
This looks interesting, going to have a look.

Hello! This looks like an interesting rom. I have an unofficial CM12 build installed which has the following issues and I was wondering if they are also present in this rom:
1) Is bluetooth working? On my rom, when I turn bluetooth on, it seems to search etc. but I can see no devices nor can other devices see me.
2) Is approximate/coarse location working properly? Currently, in order to get any kind of location awereness, I have to enable the High Accuracy mode, then coarse location works too (when indoors), apart from GPS. On battery save mode, no location can be acquired at all.
Anyone else experiencing problems with the auto-rotate function? Mine isn't working at all... Screen won't rotate from portrait

5.1 bugs and missing feature?

Hi guys! So we do have android 5.1 on our z ultra, ram management improved, speed improved, battery life improved but i do notice that charging remaining time on the lockscreen isn't already there for 5.1 update.
And also the icon of the smart unlock trusted face feature is missing on the lock screen. Am i the only one who faces this bugs or you guys too after updated your z ultra to the latest 5.1.1 version.
Was the remaining time present on the previous build? (5.0.2)? I don't have it on mine either, so it's probably not there. Sony uses its own lockscreen, so they either forgot to implement it or ignored it. Who knows.
I don't use smart unlock or any security, so I can't tell if the icon is missing here. It probably does though. Anyhow, Sony is rolling out some bugfixing updates for the newer devices now, after rolling 5.1.1 out to them earlier this month, so we'll probably get one ourselves in a couple of weeks. It seems that there are only some minor bugs in 5.1.1, so we're pretty lucky in a way, since 5.0.2 was catastrophically bad.

yess the remaining time was always in the previous 5.0.2 build. i wonder why they didnt make it in the newer 5.1.1 version. and the trusted face( smart unlock) also didnt show up in the lockscreen of the newer 5.1.1 build. could you try to enable the trusted face feature for a moment and tell me if yours is there... thank you.

Okay, so I noticed that trusted face actually works pretty well after training the feature with multiple photos of my face, so I think I'll just keep using it Regarding your question, no I don't have any icon or any sign that it's capturing my face. It's probably because of the custom Sony lockscreen, so maybe they forgot to add it or something. Send them an email or something and let them know about the missing icon/charging text, and maybe they'll add it back

okay thank you so much for trying. so there's no any indicator at the bottom of the lockscreen. is yours just only shows a lock key icon/symbol and not showing people icon? because the icon was available in 5.0.2. but if it is available in others 5.1.1 z ultra devices and not in mine, i will do a fresh install of new stock firmware coz it means that there is somewhere wrong with my software.

NFC error after update to 5.1.1
Hey.. After update to 5.1.1 I found a bit problem here. My NFC in Xperia Z ultra keeps turned ON whereas I didn't turn it ON. When I check it on setting the NFC icon is in off conditions but aftet check it in power management the NFC drained my batteries so fast. And it's sadly to know. Is there anyone counter same problem with mine or it just me?
Thanks and regards.

Did you do a full factory reset/wipe after updating? It's really recommended to do that after moving between bases (4.4->5.0.2->5.1.1). Not wiping may cause old bugs to be present in the new firmware, so do a factory reset and I'll bet the issue solves itself

Hello gyus my Honor 9 4GB Ram i updated on emui 5.1 android 7 to android 8 emui 8 and ram managment is very bad and all apps is refreshed.

And why would you want to be running multiple games and heavy apps all at the same time? Pointless, no?...
I did the full battery of benchmarks on this Honor on EMUI 8, everything has improved compared to EMUI 5.1, performance is at Galaxy S8 levels, and i have one S8 at home to compare face to face.
If i start to frantically open every app and game on my device without any logic, of course it's going to eventually lag...

I wouldn't call 9h of SOT as bad... But ok. It's normal for the software to have it's flaws, since it's not yet officially released (at least not in my case)
Anyway, the only difficulty I'm having is making Viper4Android work, I've been providing one of the devs with logs and stuff like that, maybe there's hope.
Since the update I've been getting alot more out my battery
Use to get 9 hours average use now am getting 14 currently just let the system optimize or turn on the automatic battery management

This seems to be the original source. If I managed to translate correctly, one comment mentioned improved battery life. Looking forward to that, , the battery life on my 5 III is far from decent.
I got the update on my phone the only thing that seems to be changed is that it include the latest March security patch and I don't know if PS5 controller support was in android 12 from the beginning or not but now the controller paring menu has been changed and it now include PS5 controller as well.
The UI still doesn't has full android 12 theming support as well as the inconsistency in Xperia launcher and the annoying gap on the top right corner is still present.
PS does anyone know how to adjust the gap in the top right corner or disable the permission indicator all together?
I'm using XQ-BC72 version 61.1.A.2.211 but it doesn't have call recording

PS5 controller support has been there since the 1st Android 12 update.

Hi! Anything about 4k HDR playback videos? Is this problem with Google Photos solved?

The Google Photos app has received updates, but unfortunately it has not been resolved yet.
This release schedule is seriously pissing me off, why is the us customized the last release like a month later, FFS!
US model updates are running months behind. I'm starting to think that this phone has serious bugs and Sony would rather that this model fade from memory ASAP. Everyone complains that YouTube pauses and unpauses itself. Many phones rebooted constantly after enabling fingerprints with the original firmware. I don't think it ends there.
I'm getting weird touchscreen and fingerprint reader behavior in several apps. OsmAnd~ causes the phone to constantly unlock itself. The phone unlocks itself when the fingerprint reader is bumped at least twice a day. The lock screen is constantly getting stuck on despite all my efforts to adjust settings to keep it off. Video playback causes random screen touches. The quick settings tiles sometimes don't work or self-trigger if they're opened while the phone is locked. The screen wake, notification sound, LED flash, and the actual notification are so out of sync that I don't know what's going on. There's also the mystery of SA 5G being disabled for all US bands on the US model.
Overall the phone is a mess.
Someone who update to 61.1.A.4.78 can confirm that call recording available?
