[Q]Facebook App Chat icon - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, today i got a small issue from the facebook app.
When i clean data and cache from the app, it display the chat icon where it always did (and where i like) after i login after the data/cache cleaning of the app.
Like here:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But... after i close/back off the app, it don't stay there. When i open the app again the messages icon is near the search bar
Here:
This is driving me crazy. If i clean data and cache of the app it come back to normal but once i get out of the app the UI change it self again.
Am i missing something? Is there a way to keep it as it is when i first login after cleaning the data and cache of the facebook app?
This is getting really annoying, the "old" UI still there, so i think i should be able to keep it if i wish (as i do).
Anyone knows if there is something i can do? The version of the Facebook app is v45.0.0.38.146

did you install custom phonebook.apk? (ex. Xperia S apps)
1. if yes, try to install the original phonebook.apk manually and open it. (do not import contacts cause you contacts are still there)
2. then install back the custom phonebook.apk manually.
In my case, it solved the problem.
It just means that the process has had to stop, it must be linked into your applications. I get a similar issue on some of the bloatware.
Yep, quick google shows it as syncing issues, try clearing data on contact storage remember to backup first as it'll probably delete your numbers etc.

Stop Whatsapp auto sync and data pushing (backup)

Hello everybody.
I'm not a programmer or a developer, but i've got an issue that's making me crazy: how to seriously forbid/stop whatsapp contacs auto sync and backup? This app is the no 1 battery drainer.
If sync is unchecked/disabled under the accounts' management (google accounts etc), it automatically enables the sync again. Same appens if the account itself is deleted. The account is newly generared automatically.
I tried to block some services via an app called "servicely" (screenshot attached), but i couldnt stop this crap whatsapp from pushing my data to its servers.
Now i'm here to ask for a more serious and definitive way to make this app cleaner via a deeper editing.
I mean this crap can steal my data bypassing my will so freely?
Help needed I'm going crazy.
F.

Looks like no one got back to you? Did you solve this?

Image previews and icons across all Google apps are pixelated.

Weird situation randomly started occurring on my OnePlus 6T. In every Google app, (Google, Playstore, Photos, Chrome etc...) any image preview is pixelated. For instance in my Google app, the discovery article image previews are pixelated. In Google Photos, all my picture previews are pixelated. In the Playstore all app icons and screenshot images are pixelated. Everywhere else on the phone is fine and clear. Every other app is fine and clear, it's just the Google apps I notice. This is whether I'm using data or wifi
So far I have tried wiping cache from twrp, removing and adding my Google account, granting unrestricted data, multiple roms, factory reset but noting seems to be working.
Any ideas?
Anybody?

Whatsapp Error

My WhatsApp looks like having difficulties accessing the contacts (as far as I could see). I have noticed this few days ago. I'm on a MIUI 12 root pocophone, custom rom HNPORT 20.5.7. I'm uploading images so you can see what i have installed so far, and what the problem seems to be.

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have all the permissions concedes to WhatsApp, and it keeps sending that error. I noticed because, visually, WhatsApp didn't recognize my contact list until I closed it and launched again, and if I don't use it for a few minutes, the problem comes again. I have tried to lock the app so it never closes while in the background, but it keeps happening, so thats why i think it is some root problem.
Have anyone had a similar problem? (maybe with another app a/o another permission).
Edit: Now i just figured it deletes my profile photo everytime it happens too.

Question Instagram links opening in Web Browser

I get a ton of Instagram links in text messages from my friends. On my new Pixel Fold, they open up in the default web browse instead of Instagram. I've tried everything I know to try without any success. Is this happening to anyone else? I've tried re-installing Instagram, changing the default web browser, etc, etc.
Go into settings and then apps and Instagram and open by default. Make sure everything is toggled on and see if it helps

Yep forgot to add that I checked that first. Turned it on and off still not working.
Finally got it working but not sure how... Lots of clearing cache and storage and removing defaults.
