Charging Z4 Tablet with NFC? - Xperia Z4 Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Is it possible to charge the tab wireless via NFC? Can't believe but Saturn told me it is possible.
If yes what charger do you use?
Thx and best regards!

NFC means "near field communication" which has nothing to do with charging. I guess what you're looking for is inductive charging (wireless charging) which is not available for this device without special accessories (which themselves may disturb your NFC connections and other wireless protocols).

Silent_simmal is exactly right. NFC is a very low-powered radio antenna for communication; there is no way in which it could be used for charging.
What you're talking about is inductive charging, for which there are a number of different standards, the most common being the Wireless Power Consortium's Qi standard. (http://www.wirelesspowerconsortium.com/) The Z4 Tablet does not support any of these standards.

Saturn lied... Not possible

[Q] Pogo/magnet pins for charging

Is there any other way to charge but with the microUSB, like pogo er magnetic?
Google dropped that method forever ago, now all of their products support Wireless Qi Charging, at least everything in the past from Nexus 4 onwards has.
Not Nexus 9...
Who says that N9 dont support QI charging?

It's not listed as a spec anywhere.
I would be surprised if N9 wont support Qi.

[Q] Magnetic charger error. SGP521

Hello,
today I tried to attach a magnetic charger to my SGP521, using the original Sony wall charger and an usb to magnetic charging adapter.
Unfortunately the tablet won't charge and is just jumping from "charging" to "not charging" periodically back and forth.
So I tried another magnetic charging adapter, with the same negative result.
The magnetic charging port seems to be solid in the case, no problem with the soldering.
Is it possible that the original shipping 1,5 amps charger will not work probably with the magnetic port?
The effect of the "jumping charging" is exactly shown in this video, but on an other device....

Hi,
had the same with a brand new device.
Have you put the magnetic plug in the wrong orientation one time?
Then your connection could be dead.
I had send mine in for repair.

Power Banks which support the S7 Fast Charging

To my surprise, my tronsmart power bank does not support the S7's fast charging.
http://www.tronsmart.com/products/tronsmart-presto-10400
Can anyone please recommend a good fast charging power bank?
Thanks
I'm using this one:
https://www.anker.com/products/A1310011
Fast charging included ?
That's mine,
Xiaomi Ultra-thin 10000mAh Mobile Power Bank 2
Cheap & nice.
Regards!
Thanks to both of you. Im currently leaning towards the anker charger.
1. So to my understanding, any quickcharge 2 charger will support the samsung fast charging, while quick charge 3 chargers will not?
2. Does it say "fast charge" on the phone or you need the official Samsung charger for that to be written on the lock screen?

As far as I know, Quick Charge 3 should be compatible, too.
In my car i use "AUKEY Kfz Ladegerät Quick Charge 3.0 34.5W Dual Port". Works like a charm.

I wonder then why I tried my Tronsmart Quick Charge 3 charger and it said "Charging" and not "fast charging".

I know its a small chance, but i have to ask: did you enable fast charging in battery settings?
And to answer your other question: yes, it does say "fast charging" when using anker. Any charger with 9v and 1.67a output will display fast charging.
The reason your charger does not is that it has only 5v output, and samsung uses 9v for fast charging.

Im not sure about enabling fast charging actually, but I don't think anyone disabled fast charging. I don't have that device now to check it (it's my mother's who lives in another city).
The 9v explanation is most probably the reason it does not say fast charging. I will probably purchase the anker charger for her, as you guys say it say's fast charge while charging.
An update regarding the Tronsmart power bank:
It does support fast charging.
I just connected it to my S6 using the original Samsung cable and now it does say "fast charging". I guess it's a cable issue.
Anyway I think I will order the https://www.anker.com/products/A1310011 for my mother.
I myself am using the tronsmart charger for my Nexus 6P.
I bought a Qualcomm one off of Amazon for around 30 bucks. Supports fast charging and isn't much bigger than my S7.

This guy does as well, RAVPower 20100mAh 30W Type C iSmart 3.0 Data Transfer, USB C/Type C
Do these guys charge fast the S7? And safely?

Both links seem to be the same product, but I'm not sure.
Thank you in advance.

That one is good too.
I have Xiaomi Powerbank 2 (10000mah), but only recharge 6900mah (2,5x S7 battery).
Powerbank supports fast charging and works fine.
I can honestly recommend, it's cheap and has compact dimensions.

Thanks a lot.
Xiaomi Powerbank 2 supports both versions Exynos and Snapdragon one?
I appreciate.
I have Exynos variant and fast charging works well.

Thank you. I've ordered a Xiaomi Powerbank 2 10000. If has fast charge, works fine and safe, that's enough for me.
I appreciate.

10w wireless charging

So I decided to get an Anker 10w wireless charger instead of the 20w Xiaomi one due to a few people saying fan noise is loud and I'd only be using it next to bed to charge overnight.
However it only looks to be charging at 5w and not 10w with the quickcharge 3 adapter which comes with the phone. Is there anyway to check the charge to see if it's only 5w or 10w? I have ampere but that only says max about 800mah when plugged into both quickcharge plug or into normal 2.4 plug.
Also assume that the mi9 supports 10w wireless charging as well?
No one else have a 10w qi charger?
I am also using my old QI charger from the LG G3 to charge the phone, but I don't know if it's charging with 5w, 10w or something between.
I only know it's working without any problems and charging my phone even through a case, which wasn't possible on the G3.

The lg G3 came out a while ago so it'll only be an older 5w qi charger
I'm using baseus wireless charger that display informations.
It's only charging at 5W very disappointed
You can use an app like ampere to work it out.
Power in watts = current in amps * volts

Hello, I have strange problem. After factory reset there is no option about fast wireless chsrging nor actual charging when I put phone on wireless charger. Charger is from Samsung.

There has never been the feature. I have a Fast Wireless Charger, since Android 8 respectively since the S9 is out there.

The setting appeared in my s9+ and also in my gf's s7 AFTER charging them for the first time in my Samsung wireless charger (EP-N5100)
So if your wireless charger is from Samsung, check if the fan is getting enabled while charging because it only does while fast charging.

I have a Samsung Fast Charger (Wireless) but there is no option for me while charging (EP-PN920).
Edit: My fault, my problem was the usb cable.
Sorry for misunderstanding in my very first post... I have no option about wireless charging in phone's options nor when I put phone on wireless charger itself there is still nothing (in options or charging at all). Wireless charger is original Samsung and original cable so this is not the case.
Tomorrow I will try to flash stock firmware (which I am still using = as out of the box) via Odin if it helps.
Who would have guessed that the problem is metallic piece for magnetic car mount...?
