Most Galaxy Note 5 apks include .qmg files instead of .png.
The Galaxy Note 4 has .qmg support but the .qmg files used by the Note 5 use a different encoder, driver or whatever it's used to create & read those files...
Due to that reason, most of the people who wanted to use Note 5 apps had to:
1-convert from qmg to png using one of those devices
2-decompile the apk
3-delete the qmgs, add the pngs
4-recompile the apk
That's time consuming if you want to do it with a big number of apps..
Electron Team found the way to have Note 5 QMG Support on your Galaxy Note 4, so here we are sharing a flashable zip so everybody can use it:

It should work with any 5.1.1 exynos devices and also with the Snapdragon variants of the Note 5, but so far we only tested it on Exynos Note 4,
PS: This thread is opened as DevDB thread as it could be used in the future to share other general mods & tools and also to allow my colleagues from the E-Team to update it in the future in case that I can't or don't want to do it.
PS2: It would be nice if other "devs" share similar findings instead of keeping the secret from themselves....
Unfortunately most of the "devs" won't do it to avoid having more competition and because it's cool to make the noobs believe that you are a master when the reality is that you didn't had to code much or nothing at all, but it would be nice...

Would be great if this would work on the N910F.
This project is crucial for the future N5 rom ports for the N4. So i will be looking at this and seeing what i can come up with. I agree, It's very time consuming to have to convert and replace all of the qmg's inside the N5 apk's. Also, if you don't convert the .9.png's correctly then that adds even more work. Removing the .9 from the png is ra NO NO because the .9 is critical for sizing the image correctly for the button, background, etc. So when somebody tells you to simply remove the .9 then just know that the image will not scale correctly in that apk.
1st off thanks for your efforts and sharing. I've been trying to get this working on my 910P sprint Note 4 with no success. Was wondering if anyone could offer guidance. I've replicated your zip using files from the sprint note 5 OGD rom which causes a boot loop. Managed to track that to the libskia.so file. Leaving that out the phone boots but no note 5 qmg support. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

I have had no luck on the SnapDragon Sprint N4. We have tried all of the N5 libs and still no new qmg support. I suspect there is more to it than just libs... at least for our sprint N4.

No. However Samsung has been kind enought to add in legacy uncompressed qmg images to most of the current N5/S6 softwares. What this means is that there are now MUCH fewer apps to convert. I will let people figure these things out the hard way like I've had to do. That's my free tip for the month. Happy modding!

AOKP with everything working is here.
I'll be doing regular builds of this for the foreseeable future.
As of today, its still VERY early on in the development of AOKP Kitkat release so please keep the expectations in check.
Most of the features/tweaks we're used to in AOKP are not implemented yet but they are working on it daily.
For now, its 4.4.2 with a new ROMControl app, superuser built in, and theme support is in place.
Usual features for my rom such as Canadian dual led support are working.
With the switch to gproj, as far as I can see, EVERYTHING is now working perfectly.
The only small cherry pick I did was adding apollo and DSPManager from CM because quite frankly, aosp musicfx is pretty crappy in comparison.
Do not use ANY other mako based kernels, bad things will likely happen.
Please report any bugs in this thread, I'll do my best to look at them.

It already has some features as mentioned in the op, such as themes support.
RomControl is being worked on extensively, new features are popping in often...

This ROM is for the LG Optimus G. Flashing it on an i727 will likely turn your phone into a paperweight.

Hey all, I'm back and will be releasing some cool stuff very soon.
After having needed my phone to be stable and FULLY working for a month I came to realize that mako wasn't going to be the answer.
After I got back from my trip, I decided to get a proper kernel for my aokp builds.
The only "proper" kernel we have is gproj from the great work by Shell and the rest of the cm team.
I have a working build for e973/e971 with the gproj kernel with modifications for leds.
I also added a few features to the kernel such as underclocking/undervolting, some governors, intelliplug from faux123.
Once the e970 build completes someone with an e970 will need to test it as I don't have one to test on.
I will update the first post with new links once its all ready to go, prolly about 4 hours from now.

Thanks for that, it was all we had hoped.
I had to rethink the direction I wanted to go with this rom because I wasn't satisfied anymore with the mako kernel.
Thats why there was such a delay.
But, I can assure everyone, the direction change to go with gproj is for the better.

Screen Shots were there in ScreenShots tab.. now they are also added in post # 2
Browser is already updated, If you have noticed lockscreen is part of System UI with 5.0 update.. I already themed it a little
There is no overlay in Quick Settings.. I themed it to look like new updates
and to try and port full N5 or S7 Rom I already contacted developers of N5 based Aurora Rom for Exynos version of Note 3 to help and guide to port them to S5 but I didn't get any reponse yet.. If someone else can try and succeed in getting their response may be we can have a working port..

for me it took 5 to 10 mins for first boot..
Its for G900H.. not for anyother model..

but there as another thing bro your rom doesnt work for T variant but this one does work.
Version 2 of CoreUI (MIUI with Mods) fully supports both, T and w8.. However right now I'm waiting with the release because if Cm gets fully stable (almost done) I'll use that one as a base. Right now we are in Tw as base Rom.

That's completely wrong. IT IS MIUI. Ever heard of the patchrom-tool? Xiaomi released it to allow porting of their UI to other devices. For that, a base rom (preferably stock or AOSP) will be patched with MIUIs Framework code. It is true MIUI ^^

I've been testing this ROM for Chaz for a couple of weeks now and it is absolutely fantastic! Zero bugs, smooth as can be and everything works like it's supposed to! No need to mess around with trying to get the phone working after you flash because only the unessential bloatware has been removed.
I highly recommend if you have an LS997, that you flash this!

Yeah, I'm on tmo but was just giving congrats to my bud chaz. I haven't tried the Rom but I'm almost sure it would work on our phone if you flash it with a tmo kernel.

Well, so far can't get it to boot past LG screen on my H918. Tried with tmo 10j kernel and also editing build.prop. Hmm

Might be specific to my phone -
At one point in setup it says looking for software updates - forever. It's not frozen as the progress bar cycles.
After waiting an hour with no progress - I just hold the power button and select - Power Off & Restart. It goes through setup no problem after the reboot.
Not complaining at all. Just wanted to point it out in case anyone else runs into it.
Did I mention - NO TWRP BOOTLOOPS with Classic Rom. So excited.
Got 8 hours of deep sleep last night! Great build. Can't wait to see what's next!

So after installing this rom on my G550T1 , I didn't have any sound at all but rom was silky smooth and I like it a lot. I know this rom was made for the G550FY ,maybe that why no sound. But could developer Sanjuboy please fix this issue?

i have g550t1 and yes it boots fine and no there was no LTE issue at all. What i meant was i tried flashing the sound fix which broke LTE. Not a surprise as it was written for a diff phone. Just tried it out and restored.
Another thing is at one point i got grace ux working with sound but it was with the first version that OP posted on youtube which has a link that is down.
The way i got it to work was restoring his backup and then installing czarstuperstar's rom over it. Like a dirty flash over it.
I tried this today with the second version of OP's rom which is different from his newest graceux/dreamux mix. It booted up fine and sound even worked but it was very buggy.
Have not tried this method with his newest but i did install it for a while today and it works like a charm minus all sound even call sound.
BTW it was you that commented on sanjuboy's youtube and encouraged him to make this thread right? Thanks for that btw
P.S @sanjuboy have you found any method for getting sound to work on g550t1? Any ideas? I saw a youtube video in another language with a link to a replacement other.xml to be used for fixing bugs in your rom. I tried replacing it and then i deleted another css file that it told me to in the video but it didnt do anything. Also tried installing xposed over your new rom and it caused a bootloop. Does xposed work on it in g550fy? i noticed that root worked fine for me.

I will try do some of those potential fix and see wat I can come up with, you seems to have greater idea on wat to do, than me on these things. Thank you for your effort, hoping sanjuboy is working on something to fix sound.

Does anyone know of any other custom roms for the g550t1 on5? The grace ux looks great, really makes a huge difference.
The superstar rom works fine, but doesn't have the cosmetic flare.

um yeah its easy to build linage os if a lineage based rom has been already ported to your phone but that hasnt happened.
the kernel source needs to be worked on is what i understand and i dont really have the time or exp to do that. i have thought about it though and i may do it eventually im just hoping someone that its easier for does it. the kernel is open source but i hear that its very buggy. when you say that you found a method for porting lineage do you mean to this phone specifically or just porting it in general because porting methods are well known but not this for phone in specific

you have metro pcs or t-mobile?
i have metro pcs and it didnt work.
kind of shocked that this worked on t1 as this is a known problem with graceux ports to t-mobile/metropcs variants
im not 100% but i think the only diff between g550t and t1 is the css files and i deleted those and even used a modded one and no luck so i doubt it works on t-mobile but not metropcs. Can you tell me your method for install and any variables that might account for you success?

Guys if you want to port lingage os for galaxy on5 then take j5 lingage os with no problem. Becouse i tried with that os and my phone is boots up with no problem but after showing samsungs logo it again reboot and again so on....
So please have some view on j5 lingage os may be it can work for this device

it didn't boot up to home screen?, so you couldn't say it boot up ok then if it bootloop at the Samsung logo? ,that still a major issue.
