App uses photo from Camera. But I want to use an already-saved pic.How can I do this? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There are some apps that when it requires a photograph, gives the user the option to open up Gallery, or some file explorer, or the Camera app (for you to take a picture right there and then).
There is one app that I use, however, that only has one option: Camera.
How can I somehow get the app to give me the option to choose a picture that I already have?

[Q] Zooming Pictures Lag in Gallery App

I noticed that in the Gallery app, the pictures zoom in and out in "stages", thus making it look really like it's heavily lagging - and not like any other phone where zooming is very fluid. Any workaround to make zooming lag-free? Or perhaps there's a better Gallery-like app around in the Market?
quickpic in the market.
You can also get the gallery app that is used on virtually all other android phones on the market. Someone posted an apk for it on the themes and Apps section.

it's called 3d cool gallery ... it's the stock android gallery + some tweaks and sensor motion support...
do somebody know how to integrate that into camera apk ... I'm asking if there is a way to make the camera "call" another gallery apk not the stock one.cause even if you install alternatives ... they will not open directly after a shot but you will need to open the apk directly.very annoying

Click to collapse
+1 for that!!! The camera app should ask first time what app you want to use when ticking the recent photos icon... but that is a work for developers (if they want to do it and have time of course!)

Creating App with Camera functions

I am trying program an app at during the process of the app, you are allow to take a picture and allow the user to view the picture that was taken. Kinda like, messaging apps that are out there. Do you have to build an activity+services that would control the camera or is there a way to switch to the camera app and back?

[Q] Date stamp in pictures?

Hi,
Is there a way to enable the date stamp when taking pictures?
Bump
i think the option is not there in the stock camera app
No. You do know the date and time of the photo are saved automatically in the EXIF data don't you? I can never understand why people still permanently engrave photos with that data when the file already has it. (Not necessarily referring to you)
That said, obviously there are some people who have a genuine need to have it recorded onto the image itself for whatever reason. As mentioned the stock app does not have this option. However, there may be an app on the market that can automatically use the EXIF data to record it onto the image. Seems like such an app would be easy to create so I see no reason why it wouldn't exist.
I think the lgcamera app in the market has it.

Date stamp in pictures?
Auto Stamper application can enable and add date and time on the photo. This app allows you to add text to photo with various formats like a style, size, colors, and positions as per picture background.
Auto Stamper is the only app that allows you to use smartphone default camera for capturing photo and add text to it.
Download This amazing app from respective play store and app stores.

Photo Time/Date Stamp

is there a app for rooted or non rooted phones to include he date and or time stamp on the photos??
I used this one from time to time https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ascendapps.cameratimestamp.pro
Yes, there is an app named "Auto Stamper" which allows you to add text (Date & Time) to photo. This app has an appealing feature of using "default phone camera", which allows you to use smartphone default camera for capturing picture and add text to it.
You can also try out different text formats, size, colors, and postions as per your picture background.
Download Auto Stamper app from respective play store and app stores and enjoy #happystamping.
Hello, you can try out Auto Stamper App. It'll serve your purpose.

Where do I find the histogram display in the camera app?

I can see the histogram when I view the picture in the gallery by clicking on the information circle, but how can I see it while taking the pictures from inside the camera app?
I don't particularly need it, since I don't know how to use a histogram but that's why I want to see it, so I can learn how it works
It's not in the camera app. It's in the gallery. Open your picture and press the little i icon to bring up the information.
It won't tell you how it works but there's google and youtube for that.
I know it's in the gallery app, I had mentioned it.
I wanted it in the camera app so I could see it in real time, before shooting the picture. So I could "see" what it looks like before taking the photos. And maybe see if there is a pattern to what I like seeing vs how the histograms look
