PSA: doubletap statusbar to turn screen off - OnePlus 2 General

This feature seems to be working since the latest OTA, and only on the lockscreen. Hadn't seen any mention on it before, so just so you know. It cannot be toggled in settings AFAIK.

Thanks for sharing. I'm highly against using the "power" button to lock/unlock the phone, so everytime I was waking up the device (double tap when sleep) I had to unlock the device (either fingerprint or pattern) to be able to lock it again.
This helps a lot

Thanks man! Didn't realize this existed for the device.

Not working after 2.0.2 update. Using double two on the home button to switch off

I'm on 2.0.2 and it works fine. Are you trying to use it anywhere else than on the lockscreen by any chance?

Multitouch issue..

Oke guys, i think i have to make this thread. Bcz i read some threads and still found someone asking about their multitouch doesnt working.
The problem is about locksreen apps.
At least i found this issue while installing widgetlocker and milocker.
I tested by downloading one by one my apps from market and then check the multitouch, and stop when i installed widgetlocker bcz my multitouch doest works again. (It waste my time in about 3 hours)
So, if you had that multitouch issue you can test by uninstalling your lockscreen apps and then reboot. If it still doesnt works you can just ask to rom or kernel devs.
And for devs or smart people (im stupid one.. yeaaa) i hope you could find how to fix this issue, is unfortunate we cant improve our phone themes by install any lockscreen apps.
Terimakasih.

I had this issue with widget locker as well.
To fix it, open WidgetLocker and go into the settings>advanced and enable "Retain System Keyguard".
Lock your phone and unlock it. Now try a multitouch tester and it should work fine.

Oh yea it will work from then on. You just have to lock it once so the changes take effect.
had this issue as well.
For me is was caused by widget locker
Switched to GO locker and the same thing.
So now I use stock lock screen

Yep I used this some time ago only problem is if you use widgets or app shortcuts on the lockscreen you will have to use the stock unlock after tapping them. Not a huge deal if you don't use any clickable widgets though.

Hi, I tried your solution but it doesn't seem to work with my HTC Desire S (Cyanogenmod 7.1) I put a custom slider and 2 widgets, is that the problem? Does it have something to do with disabling stock lock?
Thanks in advance

Well... If you just want to by pass the screen lock then you do not have to delete the lock screen. Just go to Settings->Security-> and select None for Screen Lock.

That's weird, it works on my Galaxy SII. It doesn't seem to be working on my YP-G1, though. Anyways, I believe right now the only was is to rely on those apps.

That Whole Lockscreen Ring Thing...

Hey All,
Is it possible to disable the lock ring when security is set to 'none'. I hate having to do that.
Oh and I'm running the current OTA ICS; unlocked, rooted.
Thanks!

Here is a little app that will give you what you are looking for. you will have to only unlock on a first boot.

Hey There,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!
I used to use that widget prior to the ics update. I quit because it doesn't work any longer for what it was truly intended to do, at least for PIN screen locks. But, by golly, it definitely does work for what I asked in my OP here.
Cheers,
John

You can delete/rename the sense lock screen and get the asop lock screen. I dont know if that helps you get what your looking for or not
Hey All,
This is a follow up to a topic I started a long time ago, but I've hit the wall with the whole Sense lockscreen strategy, and I've returned to ask if there was a pathway to any relief.
Anyway, Jimi Mack pointed out this app to me back then:
Jimi Mack said:

But there is actually still a problem with it: When I have security set to pattern, and the screen set to no-lock via the app, while pressing the on/off button to activate my screen takes me directly to my home screen, I still have to do the entire "pull-ring-then-enter-pattern" when I pull something off of the notification bar pull-down menu. That sucks! Bigtime!
So I'm here to ask, no beg really, can anybody point me in some direction where "no lock" means no lock globally?
Hey, I'd even take the compromise of just having to put the pattern in from the notification bar menu. Having to do the pull ring from the notification menu makes me extraordinarily unhappy...
Oh, and since I didn't mention it earlier, I'm running the latest stock OTA ICS ROM; unlocked, rooted, Amon Ra 3.16 recovery.
Thanks!
cheers,
john

I started using an app called flashlight LED genius and there is an option that allows you to shake the phone while at the lock screen to enable the flashlight. Then to turn off you simply shake again, you can set sensitivity settings and duration in case it gets turned on accidentally. I have had no issues with it accidentally turning on as of yet. Works surprisingly well.

I still wish someone would built it into a rom or flashable add-on that would all you to long press or double-tap the home button from the lock screen to activate the camera.

Shake on lockscreen option works fine for a while, then stops. Problem is noted in the app description in the Play Store but no ETA on a fix is mentioned. Too bad, when it works it's nice.
Anyone know of another flashlight app that can be reliably activated from the lock screen?

I use the DashClock lockscreen widget with the DashLight extension, seems to work pretty good for me
Using an app called Torchie, just press both 'volume buttons' together to turn on/off torch anytime. It runs as a background service and just works anytime, even when screen off (if enabled from Torchie Settings). It kinda make your phone feel like a conventional battery operated torch. No root required.

I just tried it, extremely buggy. Still not pleased that this phone most likely has a compatible sensor, since it was made by Huawei, and Google claims it doesn't have compatible hardware. I would say they are just trying to keep it "pixel exclusive" as long as possible.

I just tried it as well. Doesn't seem buggy at all tried all the different options and all worked great. However, the major caveat seems to be that you simply hold your finger on the sensor (just like you do when unlocking the phone), rather than using a gesture - which is what people were wanting to get.
Yeah, it's not perfect but a decent start. True swipe gestures would be cool, I bet somebody gets something better working.

Lucky. Sometimes it works work well, others it would hang for over 5 seconds or just not do anything at all. It didn't matter what mode I was on. It especially got flakey if I pressed the power button. Oh well, whatcha gonna do. It's a step in the right direction so that's a positive!
