We are pleased to share with you our port of CyanogenMod to the Moto X Play. It's fairly stable now, most things are working. If you encounter a new issue that hasn't already been mentioned here, please make a post describing it and I'll try to attend to it when I can. If the RIL doesn't work properly on your model, please PM me the output of 'getprop' on the stock ROM, along with information about your region and carrier. Be aware that this ROM expects you to be running the correct modem for your region. If you are running Asia firmware on a Europe device, or Brazil firmware on a Canadian device, or any other such mix, you will need to go back to your region's correct modem.
If you encounter issues and have constructive feedback, please share. If you encounter a performance issue and have properly profiled it or identified a root cause, please share. Also, after doing a clean install or upgrade or even a reboot, give the phone a minute to sort itself out after you first log in before you start paying attention to performance. Android carries out a bunch of background tasks initially after bootup. The ROM runs smoothly on my device, and I'm using it as a daily driver now.
If anyone wants to help us out with development, contributions are welcome.

Good work! downloading...

Terrific! So happy the development has started it felt lonely in this thread.

Wow thanks Sir !!!

Awesome!
Still no service tho, like on PAC man. XT1562 single sim
Skickat från min XT1562 via Tapatalk

Never owned a Motorola phone before this. Does the Moto app run on CM? Can it be side loaded?
Thanks for the great work on the ROM and kernel. Great to have dev support for this phone

Thanks! What about the lil lag on stock firm? Its gone or still apears?
Enviado desde mi XT1563 mediante Tapatalk

Installed fine but also not getting a mobile signal after install? When going through the Cyanogenmod install mobile was working and got an LTE signal? But after all installed and accounts logged in and on WiFi getting no mobile signal? Tried a reboot, even manually going in to pick mobile network (Three UK in my case but the phone is sim unlocked) and although the UK networks show up once Three selected its not working and states I try later?
Nandroid backup of stock Moto restoring now but happy to test further, or get a logcat, etc on this if needed?
I've got the single sim version, model XT1562

Service works just fine for me. I'm curious what model everyone has that isn't working. I'm on a xt1563 single sim from Canada.

Device: XT1562 Single Sim
Same results like CharlesW123

RIL Configuration
I have a Canadian XT1563 and I made sure it worked on my own device. Are you saying that the UK model is a single SIM XT1562? That's interesting. I had assumed that all XT1562 devices were dual SIM and wrote the RIL configuration code accordingly.
Could one or two UK XT1562 users PM me the output of running "getprop" on the stock ROM, and confirming as to whether your device is single or dual SIM? It would be much appreciated.

Same boat as dictionary my device is working fine signal and WiFi. Must be a problem with the 2s/dual sim.

PM'd you a getprop output now

All XT1562 are dual sim but its only activated in the Retasia firmware not the Reteu. I have a UK phone flashed with the asia firmware and your builds work fine.

Thanks, I've updated the RIL configuration based on information from Charles and you. I read somewhere that dual sim XT1563 models also exist. If anyone has a dual sim XT1563, please PM me your getprop for CM support to be added.

The dual sim xt1563 are from Mexico. Honestly though, I'm pretty sure it's the same, just with the added flags. All the hardware is there.

So is it possible to just flash some sort of modem file or something or do I need to flash a full other regions rom for this to work on my UK XT1562.

Initial Build Up
The first ever custom kernel for the Moto X Play is now available!
The kernel includes everything mentioned above. It includes notification LED support, and the notification LED will start working on the stock ROM after flashing this kernel. It does not include IntelliPlug or Lionfish, as they are incompatible with big.LITTLE systems in their present state.
I have tested the core functionality and everything appears to work. However, since this is a very early release, I would not be surprised if bugs exist. Please report any bugs or crashes you encounter.
Since everything appears to work in this kernel, we are all set for a CyanogenMod port. Tomorrow, I plan to start porting CM12.1 to this device. If you're lucky, you might be seeing a fully working CM build by tomorrow night.
Mate you freakin legend. That's some quick development support for our battery beast. I'm working too long hours to test this just now if I get chance on a break I'll get twrp installed etc my device is only rooted so far.
Noticed you brought cm12 to osprey as well. Do you have a donations link as I'd like to donate a little when I get paid just as a thank you.
Sent from my XT1562 using Tapatalk
So far haven't noticed any performance improvements (still fresh) but I am LOVING this notification light!!! I can finally at a quick glance tell if it's worth reaching for my phone. And at night, I know where it is. You're awesome! Definitely need a donate link ..
Firstly thanks for working on the X Play. Installed fine but Moto Voice now not working? Cannot switch on in Moto app, was fine prior to flashing this kernel?

I just checked and can confirm that the kernel breaks audio input for Moto Voice. The microphone works fine everywhere else though. There is probably a small change Motorola made to the audio path for always listening audio between the osprey and lux kernels, or it might have been broken by a CodeAurora change. I'll do some more investigating when I get time.
Deep sleep issues, the device stay awake 2h now after flashing the kernel.

Nope, didn't work. I try it 3 times. TWRP says "successfully" after the zip flash but Android reboot with the original Kernel.
With your TWRP it is no problem.
The deep sleep issues: i have no, BUT i have disabled many Motorola apps with Titanium (Moto Voice too)
the kernel is going well
the system runs a little better and the CPU is clocked down faster which saves battery.
However, the read / write rates from the internal memory card have become worse. Have tested it with Androbench.
about 1000 iops fewer
I/O Scheduler: Fiops with 1024kb Read-Ahead
but that's not so bad
Thank you for your effort
if I may donate you a coffee / beer, tell me
Thank you, finally some led notifikation action

Thanks, also to note have flashed back a stock boot.img file via fastboot and can't get on WiFi? The WiFi toggle goes straight back to off? So can either go back to stock and have working Moto Voice but no WiFi, or use your Kernel and have no Moto Voice I used the boot.img here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-play/general/recovery-boot-img-t3191436 My phone is the same version as listed, XT1562 EU any ideas please?

That's because the WiFi kernel module must match the kernel. Had you taken a system backup prior to flashing my kernel? If so, restore it. Otherwise, reflash system and boot, and then re-root your device if you want.

Did the two of you have Moto Voice set up before flashing the kernel? I'm not having any wakelock issues myself, but I had never set up Moto Voice. I'll try to reproduce the wakelock issue when I get time.

I did. Maybe I'll load wakelock detector to confirm if Moto Voice is the culprit.
Will wait until Moto Voice bug is eliminated to install it.
Moto Voice Status
After some testing, I can confirm that nothing I did broke Moto Voice. I took the osprey stock kernel and added in a minimal set of patches to get it working on lux. Unfortunately, the Moto Voice issue was still present there. It doesn't make much sense to waste many hours trying to figure out what change is needed to fix Moto Voice when Motorola has already fixed the issue and will be releasing kernel sources soon. Thus, you'll probably have to wait for Motorola to release kernel sources for me to fix Moto Voice.
How long can we expect Motorola to make us wait for it. How timely have they been in the past. This is my first Motorola since the Moto Defy!

Hey man, remember to not ask for ETA on XDA. As a Moto Play user, I know exactly your feelings about this first kernel [emoji106]
PS: Motorola hasn't take long about releasing it's sources.

[ROM][WIP][otus] CyanogenMod 13 Development Thread for Moto E 3G

As you've likely read, I've started working on porting CyanogenMod 13 to otus. It is very far from being ready, both on my device specific side and on the general CyanogenMod side, but steady progress is being made. I will periodically be posting preview builds here and will keep this thread up to date with information on how to build CM13 for this device.
I'm not looking for bug reports right now. It's far too early, I know a lot of things are broken, and this is not suitable for daily use. If you want a stable and usable ROM, use the CM12.1 nightlies, not these experimental builds. With that said, if you encounter a regression from a previous build, please report it.
The purpose of this thread is to discuss development related matters, such as how to build, approaches to solving discovered issues, and testing fixes as they are made. Everyone is welcome to participate in the development process and submit patches. I will make a new thread for the general public once this port becomes more stable.
Wipe everything before flashing. First boot will take a while, be patient. It may appear to be stuck at the boot animation, but give it at least 10 minutes on the first boot before you give up.

Same status on my end. Some of the issues (like video, audio, and FM radio) will likely be resolved by the CyanogenMod team over the course of the week. Audio is half-working already (you can play music in the music player app) but other things (like notification and tap sounds) are broken.. The main challenge for me would to get the RIL and camera working. Their blobs likely depend on some symbols that were removed in Marshmallow, so I'll need to figure out a way around that.

thanks for reply, if he can operate the camera, video and ril is stable. system sounds are problems cm.
to be very soon, CM13 in otus behaves very well without lag. Thanks for the work.
Very well @squid2 for you work hard in CM 13, thanks
October 20 Build
I've posted a new build where I've tried to fix the RIL. To the limited extent I tried to test, it seems to be working. My carrier doesn't support the frequencies my otus runs at, so I wasn't able to test properly. For anyone who wants to try this new build, let me know if RIL works for you. I'm also curious if audio in phone calls works, it may or may not.
As a reminder, this build is still very broken and not suitable for daily use. I suggest doing a clean install, and reflashing CM along with gapps. As with last time, be patient when flashing and on the first bootup.
Thanks downloading and testing...
Great work, @squid2
Greetings.
Moto E XT1511
RIL works, calls the speakers in listen well. still does not work the system sounds.
Build#3 20/10/2015
Works:
WiFi
Bluetooth
RIL
Soun (music)
Autorrotation
LED
SD CARD
GPS
Display
tethering
No works:
Camera
Vídeo playback
FM Radio
And more...
PD: sometimes not let me install apps, or give me FC.
Will the moto g 3nd gen also get cm 13 soon??
@squid2 & @Carlos Arriaga
Well, I do not know why ... but to me the sd card was not inserted automatically, became a notification in the notifications drawer saying he detected sd.
Likewise the micro chip, has not been detected, said not reboot nor take off and put back, the chip could not be detected ...
Serio some my mistake? some configuration not made?
But to cheer us up, I saw one that has a large and fast performance, and also good RAM memory management.
I'm praying that once you have stability for otus that you'll bring the marshmallows to the surnia camp fire haha

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
Currently using Samsung Stock 5.0.2 Rom. Installed CyanogenMod 13 and it boot loops. Stuck on the Samsung logo what to do?
You have to Install Samsung Stock Firmware (Indian). The reason is because the older firmware causes Modem Crash due to which CM boot loops. You can download firmware from following link.
A700FDDDU1BPA2
I have heating issues with my device. What is the reason?
On CyanogenMod 13 there are no heating issues. The device does heat if you use your device aggressively, like if you are using WiFi, LTE, 3G, Data Services, Games continuously then it is normal that your device heats up. It is due to the load on the CPU. It will happen in stock too.
cant wait for this to be fully functional.. :victory::victory::victory:
i cant test it right now since im using my phone for calls and sms, but once this is fully functional, i will say goodbye to my stock ROM.. thanks jackeagle!

Haha well yes working on RIL. Once that is fixed you can use this Rom has daily driver. Since i dont own the device i work with testers. working on it!
Same with Electroflux003. Can't risk my A700FD yet but the frustration is getting real because sammy can't even update it to 5.1.1 unlike others say J7 2015. Seeing someone working on cm 13 for the phone is a godsend. Thanks jackeagle!! ☺
This is absolutely wonderful news Jackeagle. I'd love to try this ROM as soon as calls/sms starts working. Great job man. ?
You're a saviour.
Nice. This is officially cygenmod..
What we can do if we want calls and sms ??
will there ever be a cyanogenmod for this device with RIL?

Yes Jackeagle is gonna bring it as you can see.. As he'z working with Testers and doesnt own the device, it will be delayed probably or will take more time.
@jackeagle Thanks a lot for compiling cm13 for Galaxy A7. Much appreciation for your work. Hoping you get more time to work on fixing RIL in this build.

Like he said in the 2nd post, calls and sms aren't working along with recent key....
He also said that he's not having this device and he's working with testers.....
If calling and sms bother you so much, wait for a stable rom release.....
You can test this rom if you don't have any problem with the bugs....

first of all please read OP everything is written there what is working and what is not working there is always a reason why we write in OP.
Installing rom is your choice i cant say whether u should or should.
Android Custom Rom's are tested well before release and usually Developers dont release something which can brick a device. In usual circumstances its the user who do not read OP and do not follow what is written in OP and thus end up bricking device. if everyone reads OP carefully nothing will happen and ofcourse you should have backup of everything including EFS.
Regarding update kindly do not ask for updates or status. I will surely provide all status whenever i feel all members should know

Samsung Galaxy A8 (a800I) is a Exynos based Device and I dont develop for Exynos based device.
No you cannot port this Rom to A800I because this rom is for Qualcomm based SOC which A700FD uses and your device uses Exynos which is different SOC.

Unofficial LineageOS 14.1 for Kinzie
Hi, everyone I'm from Taiwan! First, I have a BIG thumb up to @Arasthel for helping me out some mirror bugs which is really tough to fix, and he also did so many test on this. Without him this project will not make it.
This is the successor to my CM13 ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo-2/development/cyanogenmod-13-0-unofficial-kinzie-port-t3503053
What works:
Everything except:
GPS over Wi-Fi will only works when Gapps installed.
IR sensor stop working when screen off(Works when charging.)
Torch tile won't work sometimes after reboot, it is because the moto sensor isn't initialize properly.(To fix this bug, you have to pull down the statusbar and press edit icon.)
Kernel feature:
Westwood TCP congestion algorithm (enabled by default)
ZRAM
SWAP
NTFS support
CIFS support
the kernel is not stable for patching these addons, will ad back these features when ready.
Compatibility:
This ROM is MAINLY for Moto X Force. Now we confirmed Droid Turbo 2 also working.(20170312)
Confirmed working on CN variant(XT1581), EU variant (XT1580) Brazil (XT1580, timbr and tefbr) Moto X Force and Verizon Droid Turbo 2 (Reported by a Chinese with his unlocked version of DT2.)
Some Chinese user reported they can flash this ROM from stock 5.1.1 ROM without having any problem.
If you have any modem problem such as no signal or no Wi-Fi connection, flash clean stock ROM base on your variant and then flash this ROM.
Downloads:

Addon SU: https://lineageos.mirrorhub.io/su/addonsu-14.1-arm64-signed.zip Flash "addonsu-14.1-arm64" for install and "addonsu-remove-14.1-arm64" for uninstall.
Installation instructions:
Unlock bootloader, if you don't know how to do it, please check the posts or search from Droid Turbo 2 section.
Flash TWRP from bootloader. @Xadro's is strongly recommended.
First and the most important is to do a nandroid backup from TWRP! Then do a clean install (wipe /data, /cache and /system from TWRP.) After flashing the ROM, flash a Google apps package or su, and then reboot.

GREAT! Thanks a lot. I'm about to download the rom.
Great work !! Will test this weekend on my MXF
Works fine so far...
Just installed this without factory reset over your cm13 ROM. Everything is OK so far...
Nicely done!
Well done. I'll give a try on this weekend.
Nice to see some rooms to moto x force
First "bug"? WiFi hotspot is not working. When I try to turn it on, it kind of turns on, so it appears like it's on, but it says 'error' and it doesn't work. I did a clean install.
Edit: Just noticed this in a second post, my bad

That's weird, it's working for me .
Could you provide a logcat of the failure?
EDIT: my bad, I was using a version I built for myself with some changes, so it can work for me even if it doesn't work for you.

Bug in UHS-I Micro SD card
The rom is with a small bug, not showing the files on the memory card but showing the used / free space (no explorer shows the files other than the default system through the Settings screen).

Hi,
I'm currently using Solid Explorer, it is fine here. At the first launch, it ask the permission to access the SD card. Maybe you can try other file explorer or do a format to your SD card by Android system.
But if you want only stock filemanager to access to the SD card. Press the sdcard name(sdcard1) in Setting->Storage. then it should open up with stock explorer. You can access to the SD card by CM filemanager as well.

I am using X-plore and it's working fine. It's working fine for me using default CM explorer as well.
Like te CM13 i got no deal with Brazilian dual sim xt1580.
Flashed on top of stock MM, then tried to reflash modem files, reflashed stock and reflashed CM.
Still not detecting sim card.
@jwchen119 Thanks for your great work!
Could you please include the following patch: https://github.com/microg/android_p...aster/patches/android_frameworks_base-N.patch
This allows running MicroG without the need of the Xposed Framework.
It is needed by GmsCore (https://microg.org/) to pretend
the existence of the official Play Services to applications calling
Google APIs.
Works great! Phone doesn't get as hot as stock mm, and feels smoother. Camera is a little buggy, force closes occasionally.
Thank you very much!

Thanks a lot for the good work!
Hey!!
Why do you enable CIFS but not NFS?
Whoever setups a CIFS supported share normally knows that NFS is absurdly faster than CIFS and mostly will setup NFS in place of SMB, do you mind telling me where is the kernel source tree so I can enable NFS?

Something is utterly wrong with your setup, because I do own a XT1580 and I never had any problems flashing this ROM nor the previous one (13) - I suggest you to reflash last stock
Great work guys!
Great to see a cm14 release for my mxf!
did a clean wipe, flashed rom, flashed gapps. initial boot up is fine.
after setup screen, gets stuck after 1 min.. cannot access anything except power off the device by hard pressing.
also tried without gapps. same problem.
using mxf (india)
