Yup, oneplus one had amazing development too but it took a really long time to pick up, probably due a combination of the invite system and bad stock firmware. Oneplus two is only worse from the sound of things. I had a great experience with nexus 4.

I could never find a good rom for my Samsung tablet. Even cyangenmod would lag for me.

Yeah..I got my Goog Fi sim but no phone to use with. Hopefully the Nexus 6p is not a let down.

Nexus 6P. Since using the G3, G4 and Nexus 6 i cant go back to such a small screen. Tried with the GS6 for a bit but couldnt deal lol

If the 6p have a 12mp camera I'm going to be upset....especially when some of huawei cameras currently have 21mo camera

My HTC One M7 is holding up extremely well for its age, but I would like more storage and stock Android. Not custom ROM stock Android either. Pure, Vanilla, supported by Google Android. If the Nexus 6P is as good looking
(and of resemblance to my M7) as the leaks suggest, it's an easy buy for me. I love my Nexus 7 tablet because I don't have to root it to get what I want. I just have to wait, and then I have the latest and greatest! Considering it looks to have incredible specs and performance, I'm not sure how fast it will be. My M7 is by no means sluggish or slow, so I'm curious as to how snappy the Huawei will be. Regardless, I'm excited for it simply because my M7 is still an incredible phone and we can only get better from here. Plus, stock Android is gorgeous.

Beans loved your Nexus 6 ROM . But I sold it and got a T-Mobile Note 5 and rooted and ROM'd it.
I'm thinking on maybe getting the Nexus 6P if it'll be better than my ROM'd Note 5 P ?
Note 5 vs. Nexus 6P;
- Screen / Display, which one will be better ?
- Camera ?
- Battery life ?
- Build quality and design of phone ?
- Battery life ?
I know the Nexus obviously has the better pure stock Android, but TW isn't as bad as expected, as long as you run a Material theme + Nova launcher + Lollipop icons + debloat all the crapware and apps. And have a good tweaked kernel + ROM. If you do all of that, the Note 5 is pretty sweet then.
Will the Nexus 6P be better ? If so I'm in.

Will definitely get the 6P and maybe later on get the 5X for work!

You guys read about this? 128gb Nexus? Any truth?

It does look unbalanced though, like top heavy. I'll judge when it comes out.

After 29.9 will decide if it Nexus 6P or Moto X Pure/Style. Heart says Nexus
Hope it will be in range of 400$-500$.

6p all the way for me. 5.5"-5.7" is where i like to stay. 5.9 is a little much but id still buy it over a 5.2..

It's always sad to see how non americans need to pay a premium and months to get nexus. The names are crazy, but still nexus fans here. Anyone wants to help to get the 6p and post it to me in Malaysia?

Nexus ftw!!

i am almost on the brink of purchasing a Nexus 6 (2014) off amazon , cause it is on sale great pricing atm.
kind of waiting for official and not 'leaked' images of the actual Nexus 6P , the leaked images look weird the design is a big turn off for me,
if the leaked images turn out to be the real deal then it is defintely a no go for me no matter what the specs are, i will rather get the nexus 6 (2014) cause it looks sleek af.

Is this an underrated phone?

It's so cheap on att and only $50 on wireless amazon currently. It comes with all the top specs you can find today, excluding the upcoming 1080p devices. However, I'm getting mixed reviews from websites such as amazon and phonearena.
Any xda feedback i can get?

Pros: screen, best processor, micro SD slot, everything else I don't list as a con
Con: ..... I don't really consider these things bad at all but they are not the best. Battery is good for me. Camera takes good pictures for a smartphone. Its overheated like three times not really a big deal and I've had it since the beginning of December when I bought it for 200$
The combination of the amazing processor, plentiful ram, display( quality and size) , and the inclusion of a micro sd are its main points.
Yes this phone is highly underated and cheaper and still the phone i would go out and purchase today

Well in my opinion it's the most underrated phone on the market. Fast, well designed very mild LG skin(I use Nova so that takes care of that for me) and a nice sleek design even though I have it cased up due to work.
This is the third LG phone I've owned and the best device by them by far. Although I liked the other two I owned. Coming from the HTC One X and I don't miss that phone at all, nice device but dev unfriendly and HTC just isn't my thimg with their horrible Sense junk.
Buy it for the price you won't regret it imo. The dev community is a nice solid group as well.

ive never had mine over heat, had it for just over a month now. i love this phone, it has a nice solid weight, its one of the fastest phones out right now. the only bad things are the lack of JB, and its kind of slippery to hold without a case

Well I personally haven't had the overheating issue and like I said I rock a case because of work. Then again even though I have overclocked ever other phone I've owned, I just don't see a need to with this phone. I've also noticed very few people with the issue. If it was an epidemic I'm sure I would have noticed more since I seem to practically live on XDA, lol. Between here and the Note 10.1, One X and Atrix HD forums.
What's annoying about the phone is that sometimes you cannot put the brightness all the way up. Also camera is not so hot. Great phone overall and happy i have it (first android phone). With decent use my phone lasts about 10-12 hours.
If you have a decent phone right now I would just be patient and see if you like any of the 5 inch 1080p phones coming out (and possibly Galaxy S4). The screen "should" be superior, we won't know until we see it in hand comparing but another thing would be that the new phones will have a bigger battery (optimus pro g if in the USA will have a 3300 battery). If you are fine rooting etc than this phone will be fine but if not maybe the newer phones would be best as it would come with Jelly Bean and more than likely come out with 1-2 more updates (just pure speculation on my part)...whereas this phone will prob get Jelly Bean and that is it- however JB or not this phone runs very smooth and quick on ICS.
If you decide on this phone you will definitely be happy with it, especially at 50 bucks! Hell the Optimus G for Sprint is buy one get one free!
I think one of the reasons this phone is so far under the radar is due to the Nexus 4 stealing it's thunder. The OG and N4 have all the same "guts" but the N4 gets all the press due to having "pure android" and being first in line for all OS updates. That is all well and good, but I couldn't stomach being restricted to 16GB (11 usable) of storage. Not when I can buy a 64GB microSD card for only $40 and store all my media that I like to have on hand. Don't trust the cloud...
The OG also has LTE. That's not important to me since I'm on a Straight Talk plan, but it is a nice bonus feature for most people.
So as long as you're comfortable waiting for the devs here to keep you on the latest and greatest software, this phone IMHO is better than the Nexus 4, which most reviewers are in love with.
Thanks for the great feedback everyone. I was indeed comparing this to the Nexus 4, but this has LTE and N4 does not. However, i was also debating whether or not i wanted to wait for the 5 inch 1080ps instead because well, I like a big screen.

My personal opinion is that the phones are getting too big. I played around with the Note and Note 2 to get a feel for the size, and I just didn't care for it. I need a phone. Not a phablet and that's what I see it turning into at that size.
I agree. Phones are getting way too large, the Note and Note 2 are way too large for my taste and hands for that matter. I have a Note 10.1 tablet and love it so why do I need a bigger phone? Just my opinion as I know phablet users who love it.

Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Only real complaints I have are the speaker volume (fixed with the Sony enhancement) and the camera isn't that great (which doesn't bother me too much).
Also, the lack of updates. It doesn't effect me since I'm a flashoholic and will flash ROMs anyway, but still... It's more the principle of the matter. LG sucks so much with the updating and this phone should have had JB upon release.
What ever, I want AOKP and CM anyway!

Yeah I do like larger phones. My brother has a Note 2, and upon playing with it I already know its the perfect size. However, I have yet to get the Note 2 because of its price and me being a fairly smaller guy, I'm afraid the Note 2 will be indeed too large for my skinny pockets. So I may take your (xda) word on this phone and purchase the Optimus G within the next week or so.

Its definitely underrated. There isnt any major marketing of this phone, and to be honest people dont really trust LG because of the lack of support and updates. But they did a terrific job with the optimus g, every review that i read/watch praises this phone, how crazy fast it is. Now lg needs to support it and build some momentum to carry it over the optimus g pro.

What do you guys think? Galaxy S4 Google Edition.

Hopefully, this one is going to come to Canada eventually...
Frankly I think it is good that they are doing this but I would rather have a nexus 5.
I'm hoping for nexus 4 prices with
2.3GHz processor
2+GB RAM
5.3 inch FHD Screen
32GB storage
Metal build
Key lime pie
Multi window
Then and only then will i replace my nexus 4. Dont really care about fhd though and the s4 is no faster than my OCed nexus 4
It will be incredible if google goes with the Exynos 5 Octa
Will this come with other features from the original s4?? Not the touch wiz but other stuff

I like the idea, but not the price (and based on the audience reaction...neither did they). I mean you can get an unlocked HTC One for around $560ish. From there, one could root/ROM it and be good to go. Now if the price drops to say $500 or less, I'd be willing to shell out the cash. Which I hope the price point will change. This is a great start to offering a bloat free device, without having to root/ROM it. This would be great if other manufacturers followed suit.
Good move nonetheless!
A true Nexus Samsung phone would be the only way I'd buy another Samsung phone. Getting rid of Touchwiz is easy, but I just can't deal with the lagging of releasing updates.
Boo... too expensive, too mainstream, to dang normal. Optimus g pro version would be nice that's bad ass or version of Sony z... both would be better all around and could be at $500 Google price. I was so disappointed! I just returned my nexus 4 thinking they were going to release something better. I'll stick with my note!!

Discussion Nexus 5 and LG G2

With the announcement of the LG2 i must say it looks like a very nice device sporting 2.3ghz quadcore. I hope that doesn't make the 3000 mAh battery seem pointless with its 5.2 inch display.
I'm just curious though, does anyone of you believe that the Nexus 5 will be based off of the recently revealed LG G2? I find that devices looks great, and while i do understand that some people don't want to move up to 5.2 inch screen, i must say i'm more or less ready to make the move. In the past i could not for one second imagine myself using a 5.2+ inch screen, but recently i just find it makes the browsing, texting and reading a MUCH greater experience.
anyways, what do you guys think?
I hope the next Nexus is made by LG and based of the G2.

Yes, of course, that was clear; I was just pointing out that there is also no clear indication of any guideline, so it's all speculative.

With how Qualcomm is handling the situation with AOSP i hope the next Nexus is NOT made from the G2.
The Nexus 5 will be based off the G2. Sadly it will be sexier and more of a beast than the Nexus 4....I really wanted to keep my Nexus 4 for 2 years but damn the Nexus 5 looks like it will violently b!tch slap any other phone on planet earth.
Mad props to LG. To take a beautiful, sexy device like the Nexus 4 and follow it up with a device that clearly trumps it in looks, aesthetic, performance....everyone will be blown away and hooked on the Nexus all over again...

Considering how many issues Google has had with Qualcomm when it comes to releasing factory images of devices running Qualcomm chips, I hope it'd use a different SoC.

Really what's the alternative?
Qualcomm has a lock on SoC's at the moment and for the forseeable future. I mean really who else is there? Intel?
Development wise everyone is behind Qualcomm. Not by just a little either. The Snapdragon 800 that powers the G2 will more than likely go untested or unmatched by any competitor SoC until NEXT year....The 800 is a big deal as far as SoC's go.
I'm not sure of this beef Qualcomm has with Google. Don't know much about that.

Samsung's Exynos? Nope.
The main reason most Exynos powered devices don't have official CM support is because Samsung doesn't release their images. Infact I don't think you can find one Exynos powered device officially supported by AOSP.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 pro powers my N4 and I rather like it. Can somebody explain this mysterious problem between Qualcomm and AOSP? Doesn't make sense
It isnt that much bigger than the nexus 4.
Nexus 4 is 133.9 x 68.7 x 9.1mm
LG G2 is 138.5 x 70.9 x 8.9mm
Slightly taller by 5 mm, wider by 2mm but slightly thinner.
Also not sure of the power lock button on the back. You could just put your phone on the table and the phone will be turned on. Also getting cases will be odd. I hope they use the normal buttons on the side.

[Q] End of Galaxy user? Should i get Nexus 4?

I had iPhone 3G as my first phone, following by 4s then i switched to Galaxy s3 in April 2013. I've learned a lot, i've flashed many custom roms, kernel etc.
After seeing Samsung delaying updates and transporting regional lock along with kitkat update are the reason that i come to decision that i will sell my galaxy s3 for Nexus 4 (cant afford n5 yet).
I need your help guys
How good is the battery on nexus 4 compared to galaxy s3?
Idc about storage
This is a q&a thread, so it also belongs there. But to answer your question. Comparing stock of both devices, the s3 definitely wins. Samsung is good at creating a good battery life, even with touchwiz

S3 wins hands down. Tho I would recommend getting sony because don't delay the update
I disagree.
Bells and whistles like smart stay that doesn't even work properly after the jellybean update or a maybe slightly better camera (though I don't find much difference) doesn't outweight not having proper multitask. Also, neither touchwiz nor aosp have the nexus smoothness. Even my dad's former galaxy nexus feels slightly better than my s3.
If you can live with not having an sdcard or a removable battery, I'd say the n4 provides a better user experience (did try it for about a month). The only reason I'm not getting the n4 is because I'm waiting out the n5.

This is a joke, right? S3 is in overall better then the nexus 4. S3 will get 4.4. Regional lock can be removed. Also SD-Card and removable battery is essential for a phone in my opinion. (Plus, the N4 is an Lg device ) So if you don't plan to go from S3 to N5, stick to the S3!

Duuuuude....4.4 has not even rolled out to Nexus devices. Hell, it hasn't even been announced. No way can it roll out for Sony devices any time soon.
Sorry i worded that incorrectly but i hope you see my point; Im disappointed with samsung updates. I should have went for n3 in the first place, i'd have saved £40 anyways.
How the hell are you disappointed with Samsung updates?!?! They are right behind Google when it comes to updates. LG and HTC suck at updates.

I'll have to disagree with the HTC part. My HTC one just got 4.3. I own a note 2 and an s3 and both are still stuck on 4.1. HTC seems to be improving their update speed.

Except if your aiming to the n4 for its price. I seriously doubt the n5 will have the same price the n4 has. The n4 is, at this time, the best bang for the buck around. And I suspect it will continue to be for a good while.

keep lg g2 or get nexus 5?

Hi i really like the g2 but i like to flash stuff and latest android and the G2 just seems to be lacking dev support and the forum is empty was wondering if its worth just getting a nexus 5 even if the battery is ****.

Do you realize that everyone's opinions will tip over to the G2 since these is the G2 forums?
Here's the best advice, just get whichever phone you like and deal with it.
Noob.who told u the g2 lacs dev support?

Its a good choice u made but can I ask why u did that?
Ok nexus 5 screen is crap i am sorry but it just did not feel premium light bleeding all over the place top half of the screen was brighter and the bottom. Overall build quality was not as good as the nexus 4 sound is really low.
G2 development is fine.
Nexus 5 is in a whole other realm and having owned Nexus devices before you aren't missing out.

You need to decide for yourself, it is your phone, you will have to live with it, not anyone in here
