links to files removed temporarily uploading new non knox versions. will be up in a few hours

And it just keeps getting better
I guess the delay (I've been out of the house all day) worked out for the best in the end I wonder if anyone ever use Knox. For me, it's just a big PIA. Once it's all up and running well, I'll be glad to spread the great news to the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 Google+ community I'm also part of. Some there just updated to official firmware, but they have no clue what they're missing. Especially since this tablet comes with tons of unneeded business apps that's just begging to be killed off.

Knox is an important security feature, however once device rooted, knox gets crazy, starts popping up almost everywhere, therefore it needs to be removed (fully removal or partial removal depends on device configuration).
there are bunch of unneeded samsung apps, and knox apps, etc...once debloated all these, you would see good performance improvement of course.

thanks again for letting me know how to remove knox.:good:

I installed the official firmware using the version of Odin provided and it failed to boot I then installed TWRP, which did work and installed the ROM, which also failed to boot I think this old Odin does not work.
I then installed the official firmware using Odin3_v3.10.7 provided by sammobile.com (it’s now AP instead of PDA) along with the firmware and it booted just fine almost immediately Let it boot up, finished the startup stuff skipping everything, powered down, then back to Download Mode and flashed TWRP using the new Odin3_v3.10.7 and otherwise followed the description and it is all working fine just now :victory: Advance Wipe did give an error about something with E: but a second wipe gave no error. I generally always wipe 2-3 times anyway.
It does say something in red text top left corner on boot about kernel not supporting seandroid, or something like that, but I assume it is due to some necessary changes that were made for the ROM to work.
I do wonder why the provided Odin is an outdated version I strongly recommend using the new one like I did.
It is still early, but everything seems to be working perfectly so far.
Quick app recommendation: The app “GMD Gesture Control * root” is amazingly useful and just one more huge benefit of being rooted. Not being forced to use the buttons is great. It is very awkward when they are halfway covered by a stand or in an odd place depending on how you hold the tablet and they are tiny and using customized swipes and taps is the bomb
There's way more development for the Note version, so you making this is all the more appreciated and I am now off to recommended it to anyone willing to listen

I think it may have been your drivers for samsung, bc I used the odin I provided to flash both uk and us .tar files with no issues or non boots
as for the non seandroid supported that is to deal with the permissive kernel that initially gained root access

Hmm, I didn't install any new drivers between the first and second attempt. If somehow it did that in the background I didn't notice or maybe it's a Win 10 issue. I used to have Kies installed but since my clean upgrade to Windows 10 I haven't bothered to install it. I just had the drivers that auto-install when you plug it in.
Whatever it was, I'm just really happy it works now. I've now spread the great news to the 90 member 12.2 Pro Tab Google+ community and the general Pro Tab one with 698 members so more can enjoy your little gem.

win 10 prob im running win 7

I now feel like a complete noob lol. I can't get TWRP to flash for some reason. I'm on windows 10 using the newest version of odin. I went to teamwin to download the img.tar. I've tried different ways to do this. I download then go to pda click on my recent files and click on the winrar zip and start. It fails. If I extract the zip to a folder it comes up as a recovery.img which can't be detected in odin. I add the .tar and it pops up fine but then fails or freezes for awhile and fails. I've installed trwp and roms too many times and never had this issue. What am I doing wrong? Help!!! Lol

Good to hear it's working for ya. It's not a Win 10 issue, at least if using Odin3_v3.10.7 and running it as administrator (as one always should imo). There's no PDA option. Then you were using old Odin. In the newer editions it's called AP unless you just used the old terminology.
Also noob is not a newb. Read this, it's very funny and accurate: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Noob
Bonus info:
I tried the unofficial Xposed made specifically for Samsung. It didn't work. Only needed to flash the Uninstaller zip, clean caches and reboot (but I had a nandroid ready just in case). Damn Samsung and their fiddling with ART. I miss Xposed, but you can't have it all. Loving the ROM. I had these super annoying reboots always a bit more than an hour apart at times, same apps as now. Could be fixed firmware, no Xposed or a combo. Either way it's great to be rid off.

download the one from the link on the bottom of my first post it works. remember to install the alpha 4 xposed app(make sure no modules are selected) flash wanam xposed framework arm version(not regular xposed framework) in recovery wait 5-8 min to boot and done
also do a search to see if the modules you are using are lollipop compatible because not all of them are
and if the modules are not lollipop compatible and you have them activated upon reboot you will bootloop

Yep, Xposed works now and now on to finding compatible modules. The xposed you listed was the one I used but I probably had some restored stuff from Titanium and/or didn't install the apk first. Don't remember. Note to self: Don't flash anything when you've only slept a couple of hours the night before.
I ran the new Aroma installer. I did end up with all that business bloatware despite deselecting it in Aroma, but that could just be from letting the restore thing run with pretty much everything during setup (mistake), I'm not sure. My bad. I've just uninstalled it all since using Titanium so it's all good now.
Damn, the first post looks totally pro now. You're learning fast my friend

[ROM][CM12][5.0.2][20150602][SaberMod] CM12+ Unofficial Build *** SUPER FAST ***

Welcome to wilson3q's CM12 Unoffical Build!
As requested by some users, I started to build cm12 for I605. I don't own a I605, please help to test. If you like my work, you can donate here.
Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for bad things that happen as a result of flashing this.
My kernel source is standard cm12 kernel without any modifications.
SaberMod tool chain source is HERE.
All the rests are pretty standard cm12 stuffs, except a few patches I applied on top of them.

1. Reboot to CWM/TWRP recovery
2. Flash ROM zip file

Always nice to see a new thread for i605. This doesn't happen often. Thank you!
Thanks again for building this for us we all appreciate it!
will be testing this out and see how it spars. thanks for this! I was going to try and "port" it over from the t0lte with replacing some libs and such, lol.
Thank you! I'm downloading right now. Looking like a slow day at work, so why not?
Downloaded files. Backed everything up. Rebooted to recovery. Wiped / Factory Reset using TWRP. Installed both zips sequentially. Apprehensive when I rebooted. Took a couple of minutes of sweating watching the CM Logo swirl around, and then bam! I'm up and running Lollipop. I'll update soon...

So, I've got it up and running. It's fast and smooth, but there's a couple of glaring issues stopping me from testing any farther. The first screen that comes up after you initially select your language, is a new (to me) "Activating Cellular Service" screen. It has a message on the screen saying this "can take up to 5 minutes". I let it go for longer than that, but I got an error that it was unable to activate and I was able to try again, or skip it. I'll skip it for now just to see how the rest of the ROM works. Next screen is Wifi login, works fine., but you still have to hit "skip" even after you sign in to wifi.
Then it checks connections, for updates, etc and I keep getting the error that google play services has stopped. I haven't even logged into it yet...
Next screen is Tap N Go. Option to transfer all of your stuff off your old phone using NFC. Great idea, but I'm not testing because my new phone IS my old phone.
Then, it's google login time. Worked fine, standard stuff we're used to with options to download/backup your apps using google. It takes a minute here, and I kept getting popups about all of the google apps stopping, each individually. Annoying a bit... I hit the "RESTORE" option, this is my second try, and the first time I didn't have Root, so I couldn't download Titanium to restore everything. I also skipped the google restore last time, so I tried it this time. This is a new screen for me, but it takes me to a "Restoring" screen for a bit. It's not as annoying as on previous Android versions, having to individually approve each app that was updating/downloading. I keep getting the popups about one Google app or another stopping.
I get past the restore page, and the phone locks up. Reboot... After reboot, I have to go into the play store to download Titanium. It seems quite a few apps were restored by Google, but not all. I looked at the "My Apps" section of the play store, and there's a ton of apps cued up to download. It's what I was trying to avoid... So I hit "Stop" at the top, and it stops them all.
**I mentioned earlier that this is my 2nd try, the first try was about the same, but I didn't have root access. I downloaded SuperSU, but it wouldn't update the binaries, so it was useless. I tried SuperUser, it didn't work either. So, I rebooted to recovery, wiped, flashed the ROM, GApps, and the SuperSU zip I had saved on my SD card from my previous Omni Rom. Then I rebooted and now you can read what happened.
At this point, I'm having problems downloading Titanium Backup, SuperSU, or anything I really want. The Play Store is hanging and force closing. I can't even open the SuperSU I flashed from TWRP. There must be compatibility issues. I read somewhere that Lollipop has issues with root somehow, but I'm not sure. On my first try, I was able to download Titanium Backup no problem, but it wouldn't work because I didn't have root access. SuperSU and SuperUser didn't help after downloading. CM has always been pre-rooted on all of the other devices I've installed it on.
For now, I'm just going to restore my backup of Omni Rom and be content with 4.4.4 for now.
I'll try again if anyone can help with actually being on the VZW Network and Root. I didn't get a chance to play with the other stuff in Lollipop yet, but I would love to.

New build online...
Giving this a try!! Downloading now
Update- Downloaded and installed without any problems. I did have to skip the network verification set-up as it never went anywhere and wifi set-up worked as with setting up my g-mail account,.
Everything seems good except for no service, baseband version still unknown and no service or apn's for data.
going back to Liquid till this gets updated.

Yes, I flashed the gapps from your post. gapps-lp-20141109 is what the file name was. I use TWRP, not sure if it's the latest but it works fine. I always do the "factory reset" wipe option in twrp, because I believe that's a full wipe with one swipe... Now, just to test it out and see if I was doing something wrong, I tried the Liquid Smooth build (latest nightly) from 1/7, and it loaded and booted just fine. Had to flash the ROM, Gapps, GPS Fix, and Super SU (so I can restore my apps in Titanium). It connected to data, and ran me through the setup in a flash. It's working well enough to be a daily driver. Do you have any other suggestions? I'm willing to help if you want me to try something else.
Going to give this a try. Thank you for giving this phone options. It is greatly appreciated.

I love to flash and then go through a process of testing. I actually got 2 gt-n5110s so I could test a couple builds at same time, kind of a back to back comparison.
I would love to pick up another i650 that still has unlocked bootloader for testing that way on this device as well.
Well back to this rom, I couldn't get past the getting data screen and had to abort. I did a clean flash and wiped everything with both philz and TWRP 2.8.3.0. I tried both stock and shift kernels.
Lets face it, I'm a flashaholic. lol.....

Multiwindow allows you to split the screen in 2 vertically (while in landscape) or horizontally, you can switch an app back and forth between multiwindow mode and regular mode while it's running.
MultiWindow
NavBar:
- To switch between full screen and split View you can use the
NavBar Button
(It will lay apps alternatively in one SplitView spot then the other.)
- To change focus simply Tap on the app or use the
NavBar Button
That button can also be used in non multiwindow mode to switch quickly between the 2 most recent apps.
Global Actions
Actions to switch the app between fullscreen / splitview, switch between the 2 most recent apps and to force the splitview slot have been added
so you can bind them to a key / key combination with the Global KeyOverride or long press on navbar button too.
Note: Most apps works ok in splitview mode, but some of them might not refresh correctly sometime.
Same when rotating the screen while in splitview mode.
To force a refresh simply tap the app or if you have 2 apps in split, just click twice on the switch to last app button:

Installation was easy and setup was smooth. Since installation during app installs I've encountered some FCs and soft reboots (still trying to install my apps). But it's really smooth, the best I think the tablet has ever seen! Can't wait for apps to install and get to actually using it. Will report back after.

oh, no, I don't use TB, that can screw up ****; I just initiate via the Playstore only. I go and DL them all 1-by-1 or if google asks to start DLing all my old apps I say yes. So far after all the apps installed and I logged into them and started to use them, I've only had 2 soft reboots and 2 FC's. So far so good. We'll see how it runs tomorrow during DnD. Thanks again, awesome ROM!
GAPPS are changed to minimal edition 14.04.15
There are more free space in system partition now
Just installed it today.
First, damn format data indeed takes a long time
But it's working perfectly now. And i'm absolutely flabbergasted at how good it works. I came from Crombi-KK and after a couple days of use it became super slow. Now with Katkiss is feels really snappy.
Installed Need for Speed No Limits, and I didn't expect to even run.
But I could actually just do a full race without any lag.
So yeah, so far so good.

My old Transformer Prime is alive again
I am also using KatKiss, but did not installed it using the repack file. Used separate files (rom+kernel lite+gapps).
I am also in f2fs and when I was installed gmail, etc, I had several soft reboots (maybe 10 or so). But after everything is installed it settled and is working ok.
The only issue so far is the camera not working.
Are you guys having this issue?

This ROM works absolutely without any problem as PRIMARY ROM in MultiROM.
If You can Russian, see also here: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=308957&view=findpost&p=37626732
This ROM is excellent on my asus TF201 was very fast. in the forum say that it is possible to do overclocking to 1700MHz but the settings only gives to choose up to 1300MHz but in AnTuTu says that the CPU is 1500MHz? How can I change?
This ROM is wonderful. Between the ROM and formatting my data to F2FS, my TF201 has new life!
However, encryption doesn't seem to work. It just reboots to normal instead of encrypting...
Is this a known issue? Is it because I'm using F2FS?

You might have different version of tegra 3 on your tablet. There is another 5.1 Lite kernel for you. I am going to add it here
@JuraP
Strange..... your lite version let's me "oveclock" only up to 1300 MHz.... So no OC at all..... Tried to re-flash the kernel package just now with the same result. The top frequency in Performance settings is 1300 the same in Trickster mod. With performance version the option is up to 1800 MHz
@hardslog
So it would appear that there is more than one tegra3 model for the TF201. Nice job Asus:
JuraP - Tegra3: CPU Speedo ID 1, Soc Speedo ID 2
lj50036 - Tegra3: CPU Speedo ID 6, Soc Speedo ID 2
Should be easy enough to fix though
@JuraP
Works like a charm, mighty wizard !!! Booted without hassle, OC settings working good... No twitch with 1600 MHz, interactive governor and vr I/O scheduler....
That is the kernel who can not overclock with following instructions on first page.
Its worth a try

Hi. Can i flash the rom even when my tablet "thinks" it«s a tf301? I once installed a *firmware* (or just software i dont know, im not much of a pro on android) that modifyed the system to "think" it's a tf301....
Can i flash the rom following the instructions or is there a way to put it back tf201?

Can someone please briefly outline the steps I need to take to get from HairyBean 2.31 with F2FS to "JB 4.2.1 BOOTLOADER VERSION 10.6.1.27.1 AND TWRP 2.8.0.0+" ?
Question #1:
Right now, my TF201 shows "ww_epad-10.6.1.27.1-20130711" when I boot it to recovery. However, according to the HairyBean disclaimer, it states that:
"DO NOT INSTALL ANY OTHER PRIME RECOVERY WHILE USING THE NEW HAIRYBEAN 2.31 (4.2.1) BOOTLOADER, THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE AT THE MOMENT, THE ONE BUILT IN IS MODDED. USE THE DOWNGRADE ZIP TO TAKE YOU BACK TO 4.1.1 BOOTLOADER AND RECOVERY IF YOU NEED IT."
So, does this means I have to downgrade or it's safe to go straight to TWRP 2.8.0.0+?
Question #2:
I'm on TWRP 2.7.0.0-Geass. How would I go to TWRP 2.8 because from TWRP website it says that it's not supported anymore.
I would really appreciate it if someone who had gone from HairyBean 2.31 to this ROM could quickly outline the steps.
Thank you!

1) You do not have to downgrade. Your bootloader version is what we are looking for :good:
2) It's safe to go straight to TWRP 2.8.0.0+ Because of we have TF300T's bootloader on our prime, we can flash TWRP which is made for TF300
I use TWRP 2.8.3.0 version on my prime and it works without any issues.
TWRP 2.8.3.0 http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/tf300t/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.3.0-tf300t.blob
Download the file above. Save it to the root of your /sdcard directly (internal memory only) and rename it to twrp.blob
Launch terminal emulator or connect to your computer and open an adb shell, then type the following:
su
dd if=/sdcard/twrp.blob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
Then reboot to complete installation.
Thank you TacoNikky for your help. I really appreciate it! I actually figured it out right before your reply. I found a slightly easier way to do it. Hope this is of some help to those coming from HairyBean with F2FS.
From my version of HairyBean, bootloader, and TWRP above, I did the below.
BACKGROUND INFO:
- As TacoNikky pointed out, the bootloader "ww_epad-10.6.1.27.1-20130711" from HairyBean is ready to go.
- Now, I can go straight to TWRP 2.8+. I flashed TWRP 2.8.5.1 zip that's packed for the TF201. Found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tra...overy-kang-twrp-tf201t-2-8-x-xarea51-t3047675
INSTRUCTION:
1. Download all the zip files from the OP and TWRP 2.8.5.1 zip from the link above to your MicroSD card.
2. Boot into TWRP recovery and flash TWRP 2.8.5.1 zip. Then fully reboot to Android.
3. Boot into TWRP recovery again and it should show version 2.8.5.1.
4. Go to Advanced Wipe and wipe what is recommended in the OP and those are dalvik cache, system, cache, internal storage. Since I was already on F2FS, I did not wipe Data. Follow the second post of this thread if you want to go to F2FS from EXT4.
5. Now, flash all the stuff as described in the OP. Reboot and that's it!
Thanks again TacoNikky for putting this together.
Now, I hope this ROM is as usable as HairyBean. Also hoping for ChromeCast's "Cast Screen" to work.
I hate Asus for the pain that the TF201 had caused!
Update: You should also wipe Data. I missed reading it from the OP. Also, I got "wiping" and "formatting" kind of mixed up in my mind. In Step 4, I meant to say that I didn't have to "format" Data because I was already on F2FS.

Just to inform you
Not wiping /data can cause a bootloop at first boot
Even if you pass, you may have google play store issues (Google is really strict with that on 5.1)

Haha. Thanks. I was going to ask you whether I should wipe Data. Looks like it's back to re-flashing the ROM.
For some reasons, I didn't see in the OP that one should also wipe Data. Oopsy.

Help with Xposed for Android 5.1

I asked a few questions in the official thread and did not resolve my issue. From replies to others in the thread I should probably try asking in the 'Discussion' thread(?) but I thought I would ask other HAM2 users here first.
Short version:
On my Ascend Mate 2 and I cannot boot after using romracer's version of xposed for sdk22 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/super-alpha-posted-permission-xposed-t3072979). I flash the latest version, wipe the cache, and press "reboot". It shows the boot logo, then the boot animation, then stays on the slightly animated Huawei logo indefinitely. I left it for an hour once just to see if it would change/finish.
Longer version:
(Started by making everything factory reset/stock.)
1. Got the B321 update
2. Got TWRP 2.8.7
3. Rooted with the latest SuperSU
4. Installed Viper4Android FX
5. Restored all my apps and settings with the stock backup tool
6. Flashed xposed-v71-sdk22-arm-by-romracer-20150816.zip
7. Would no longer boot. (First logo screen stays on for much longer than normal, then the Huawei animation plays, but without sound, and finally the animated Huawei logo just sits there.)
Nothing else was changed or added or modded before trying to flask xposed.
• The APK is not yet installed (not sure if that matters)
• I’ve tried the current version, as well as 70, 69, 68, and 67 for good measure
• I attempted to flash the 64 and 86 versions just in case
• I even tried a version for sdk22 posted by C3C076. This version did not even get to the animation screen and could not be removed with romracer's uninstaller (just thought I would try)
• I’ve tried waiting 10, 20 and even 60+ minutes for the boot to complete… it just sits there
• I’ve checked and rechecked and redownloaded the zip from the official (“unofficial”) first page
• I wipe the dalvik cache each and every time I flash
• After a few minutes, if connected to my computer, the initial Huawei folder window will appear (the one with Docs, drivers, and “autorun”), and my phone will show up in adb devices list in command prompt. I can even use adb commands at this point. I really believe this means something.
• To get back into my phone, each time, I have to restore the system backup or flash the uninstaller zip.
I really want a number of xposed modules! My phone works 'fine' without them, but who roots their phone for merely 'fine'. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Haven't heard of xposed working on stock lollipop EMUI . It does work on CM tho .

He is correct. You have to be on CM. EMUI will NOT allow closed to work. Flash the uninstaller zip.

Thanks. I was worried that might be the case, a few days into my efforts, when I saw the "Xposed for CyanogenMod" guide posted a few days ago.
If that is the case, I suppose I have two additional questions:
1. Will installing CM mean another wipe and restore? (I'm certain I know the answer, which is of course "yes", but I thought I would ask all the same.)
I only ask because I hate having to re-do all my settings (3 email accounts in the google app, general device settings, etc), which neither the stock restore app or non-pro Titanium backup ever seems to put back.
Read through the "preview-cyanogenmod-mate-2 thread". Guess I'd have to bite the bullet.
2. Is CM worth it on its own? (And by worth it, I mean worth it for the HAM2... I can see CM's features with a quick search.)
I know I'll like being able to finally get Xposed, but I wonder if this will be an issue for getting updates like the recent B322. Or perhaps CM fixes that concern? I don't know much about it. My experience is limited to learning to root my phone for slightly more functionality on a few root apps.
Read through the "preview-cyanogenmod-mate-2 thread". Still not sure after reading about random restarts and battery issues (possibly from wake locks and/or google apps?).
Guess I'll just have to decide whether to try it after reading more comments in other threads about it.
Thanks for the help both of you!

For someone like you that doesn't have a lot of experience with custom Roms I would say wait till things are better.

Thanks! As excited as I am to have Xposed, I really like my EMUI (and don't want to pay for the play store one you suggested to others), I like B321s stability, and I like not changing settings often. So for now I'll wait and deal with not having trivialities like AdAway or playing Youtube in the background.
@neocortex08
You only need root on your phone to be able to install adaway. You don't need xposed.
For background playback of YouTube videos you may want to check this out
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213945
They have a install method for those who are rooted and have xposed and those who don't .

[ROM] G900P PK1 6.0.1 stock deodexed Marshmallow

Galaxy S5 MM 6.0.1 PK1 (Mostly) Stock Deodexed Rom
This build is based on the marshmallow stock G900PVPS3CPK1_G900PSPT3CPK1_SPR build.
This is a first release. Even though it has been tested, please report any issues.
Features:
- Rooted
- Busybox
- Hotspot enabled
- Knox Removed
- ItsOn Removed
- All toggles enabled including hotspot and flashlight
- Usb/battery popups removed
- Signature verification disabled
- .5 animation scales default
- Screen mirroring fix
- Usb debugging on by default
- Carrier label removed from statusbar
- Hidden menu hacked to allow use without prl. Prl write enabled, don't know if it still works on 6.0 though.
- Recovery & Download Mode added to stock reboot menu.
- private mode does not work (not really too interested in fixing it right now, the standard fix doesn't work)
- All apps updated, all stock apps included. Use debloat tool to remove Sprint bloat apps, even if they've taken updates. Only app I left behind is sprint zone because users are always asking for it.
Known Issues:
If you try to edit the toggles, flashlight will disappear.
There is nothing I can do about this right now.
To restore the stock toggles, wipe data on the Add Toggles app and reboot (I use Titanium backup).

Nice work!! Does the mini bootloader include modem too?
edit: already downloaded and check the file and the answer is yes.
Just to be clear, the mini bootloaders are for jumping back and forth between lollipop roms and marshmallow? Would this be flashed through Odin and then just boot into recovery to flash ROM of choice?

Yes. You have to flash those through Odin.
Has anyone else noticed HORRIBLE battery on pk1, vs say ok4 or pca?
Im on the stock pk1, not this version here. Just wondered if its just me, or if its everyone and maybe this is addressed in these roms posted here.
Thanks.
Thanks @tdunham for this rom even though you moved on from this phone. Just moved over from cm13 back to this rom and it's working great so far.
Will viper4android work on this?

I don't see why not this is just a stock rooted rom with minor mods nothing that much changed. I personally don't really install viper but it should work if you were able to install it on other tw based roms
first, thank you @tdunham for making this. I had an issue using the 3.0.2-1 TWRP as it wouldn't allow SD card access, so I went back to 3.0.1-0 and it worked fine.
EDIT: i can't seem to get v4a to work. Any ideas?

I found 3.0.2-1 also solved flashing issues. I have noticed access to my ext sd is like its not there. I wondered why. Im gonna try 3.0.1-0.

Mine dropped from stock ok4 to pk1. Gonna flash this in the next day or so.
Forgive my ignorance. I've never run a debloat tool. I usually just remove what I don't use but guessing this way is cleaner. Should I boot up the rom and set it up first or run it directly after flashing the rom?

perhaps the bloatware is eating at it. also the battery is a mess after a new flash, needs few days to settle
Debloat , kill all the garabage and let it cycle the battery few times.
Ive tried both stock and debloated, still crappy batt.
Ill flash this n see if its just a quirk on my end or if just so happening that my battery is giving out.
I dont see an option to mount SD as internal storage, is that not available on this build?

Before first boot is best. Doesn't really matter probably.

Never use an aftermarket battery, they are really not worth it.
If getting an extended yield battery, only purchase the best name brands like zero lemon. I had a cheapy aftermarket standard battery and when I bought a genuine stock, there was a huge difference.

Unless something has changed, this has never been an option on stock Touchwiz.

[JazzROM - V5.0 New Update!!!] [Stock Base] Galaxy Tab A SM-T350/T550-Nougat 7.1.1

JazzROM For Galaxy Tab A SM-T350/T550 Nougat 7.1.1
A custom ROM based on official firmware Galaxy Tab A SM-T350-Nougat 7.1.1 (XAR- USA version)
[Deodexed, Deknoxed, Rooted, Internal Encryption off, Init.d, Su.d, etc..etc..all the good stuff you will find in pretty much every custom base Nougat ROMs..]
Nobody is allowed to take stuff from my rom without asking me! Thank you.
A fair warning before you jump on and flash this ROM: Installing this Rom will void warranty. Installing TWRP will trip knox to 0x1! Secure folder will be unusable.
Prerequisites / What you need:
1 - No brainier that flashing custom ROMs requires a custom recovery, we use TWRP here - look here @ashyx thread download for your device.
2 - If you are still on official firmware and never rooted, maybe it is time to get into custom recovery! - so get that one going..
3 - Now that you have fully working TWRP installed, it is good time to do full nandroid backup and save that to your microSD card and your computer (in case all goes wrong, you can restore it)
4 - Keep in mind that we developer always assume you know what you are doing since you are here and interested flashing custom ROMs!
5- Remember that do not set read-only mode system in TWRP
6- You should also check and read thru @klaberte 's thread
Installation/Flashing the ROM with TWRP:
1 - First, download JazzROM installation zip file for your device from post#2, and copy it to your tablet's internal sdcard or microSD card.
2 - Reboot in to TWRP, and do Data Format [Wipe]/[FormatData], type "yes", and once it done, go back to main screen again.
3 - In TWRP main screen, go to -->Wipe-->Advanced Wipe, and check only; "System", "Data", "Cache", and "Dalvik/Art cache" - do NOT select any other options!, once it done, go back to main screen.
4- In TWRP main screen, select Install, and Select Storage where you saved JazzROM installation zip file in first step above, and select " JazzROM installation zip file" then swipe to confirm flash and wait until it finishes...
5- Reboot to System (if TWRP prompts you to install TWRP as system app, say NO), If TWRP prompts Dalvik/Art cache option, do that again, when it is rebooting don't be alarmed, you may get couple bootloops with SuperSU-v2.82, this is normal.
6- Now, while your tablet is rebooting, go get coffee or read a short book or watch something, it is going to take several minutes (5 to 15 min.)
7- Once reboots, and you see Welcome screen, do not touch anything for at least 5 to 10 mins, that will give ROM to settle down, and then go thru the setup of tablet as you normally do.
8- If all goes fine, you should be running stock base Nougat 7.1.1 ROM!

Version Updates:
I strongly suggest you to do full wipe to get all modes in this ROM working..so clean installation is good idea here...remember Secure Folder won't work on rooted devices!!
Change Log JazzRom V4.0
1. Fully deodexed (including framework folder - if you check other Tab A ROMs, framework files are not deodexed, this one has deodexed)
2. More Debloated; removed many google apps that can be downloadable thru Play store.
3. More tweaks and optimizations done to make the tablet more smooth and better performance
4. Ported new Bixby from SM-T380 (New Galaxy Tab A2 S) fully working!!!
5. Ported Samsung S7/S8 Edge Screen - please note, some features don't work since this is tablet, and also it needs some re-sizing since our tablet's screen is way way off compare to phones (will try to fix that), but it is still pretty much operational and working OK.
6. New Moded TouchWiz 2017 launcher (you will figure out if you dig it what the surprises are)
7. Advance Power Menu!! - first for 7.1.1 - I have it on Tab S3, so here you go you can have it on Tab A as well - a huge thanks goes to @a.raul (long live SPAIN!) - take a time go head thank him please.
8. Ported Samsung Home Mode (kind of screensaver but looks a bit AOD)
9. Added new updated Samsung Kids Mode - when you open it, it will download rest of the stuff.
10. and there's a working AOD port - please be aware of that, AOD not originally designed for our LCD screen (non-AMOLED), so screen burn may possible - also if you turn it on, make sure you turn off Home Mode to see it in action - it also, because of screen resolution of our tablet, needs some dimension adjustment, i may fix that in next version.
11. Rounded Google Search widget also included
12. ...and some more stuff that I don't remember now, ohh yeah some new wallpapers in framework-res from SM-T380 (New Galaxy Tab A2 S)
Change Log JazzRom V5.0
1. Of course, all V4 features above listed are also in V5!!! -
2. Added SPen port- I know it is not fully functional, please keep in mind that our tablet does NOT have actual SPen, so don't complain about it. It is included in ROM, if you like to use it different way, it is there, if you don't like to use it, don't use it. The way I use is, getting screen write screenshot, app short cut lunch, etc...so for me it is still useful. Maybe some other developers able to enable some of fuctions, if they do, I will try here too.
3. Dimension Adjustments to Edge apps - I made a few adjustments to Edge apps to better fit our screen, it looks better now.
4. Weather on Lock Screen - This is something new in V5 and please consider this as beta release. It may need a few improvement.
5. T550 improvement - Several fixes went to T550 device, now it should be good for all who has T550 device if they follow the instruction and additional suggested made by me (see download link)
6. Updated framework system lib files- new firmware release (still the same version) from Samsung, so I went ahead updated several system framework and lib files.
7. Superuser app- do not be alarmed here, this is needed for Aircommand launch app to launch Spen since it needs Superuser because Superuser is the root management app.

Firmware Download:
First download Odin here Odin3-v3.12.7.zip
Download official 7.1.1 Firmware of SM-T350 or if your device is SM-T550:
https://samsung-firmware.org/download/GALAXY__Tab__A__/u646/XAR/T350XXU1CQJ1/T350XAR1CQJ1/ - T350XAR1CQJ1
https://samsung-firmware.org/download/GALAXY__Tab__A__/559n/XAR/T550XXU1CQJ6/T550XAR1CQJ6/ - T550XAR1CQJ6
Once you download it, unzip it, you should end up tar file, such as example; T350XXU1CQJ1_T350XAR1CQJ1_HOME.tar
Steps:
Now that you have all the files on your PC/Mac, let's start:
Be master of switching back and fourth of holding keys Home, Down Vol, and Power all at the same time - practice this!!
-----------------------------------------------
Firmware:
1. First, do a rest your tablet - so all the junks will be cleaned up and your tablet will be first time setup use.
2. Now, put your tablet in download mode (make sure it is not connected to your PC with USB); To enter Download mode, press and hold Home, Down Vol, and Power all at the same time, until you see the Warning screen of the download mode. Press Vol up to continue, you should be in download mode now
3. Connect your tablet to your PC and then open Odin3-v3.12.7, confirm that ODIN can see your tablet (ID:COM should say Added!!), click AP button on Odin. In popup, select tar file you downloaded firmware, click OK...it may take several mins to load firmware since it is big, also MD5 check..etc...once done, click Start
4. The screen of the tablet should show a progress bar as your tablet is being restored to its original firmware.
5. After flashing, the tablet should reboot into Android.
6. Reboot may take some time, but after a while, you will be greeted with the Welcome screen where you can select your language, etc....do not setup google account nor Samsung account, just skip, skip...until you see home screen.. Now, plug in your tablet to your PC, and then copy JazzROM zip to your tablet (remember where you place it on your tablet), and then go Settings, About tablet, and click 7 times on build number to enable Developer Option, go there and check USB debugging option active..
Up to this point, you should be now on official 7.1.1 firmware...
-----------------------------------------------
TWRP:
7. Now Power off the tablet using the power button...
8. Put your tablet in download mode again (step 2 above)
9. Open Odin again, and select AP button on Odin. In popup, select your device's twrp-XXXX.XXXX.tar, click OK, and then in Odin go do Option (next to Log tab) and uncheck Auto Reboot!! - this is critical!!
10. Now, click Start, it should flash it OK and should say success.
11. It is important, we did select uncheck Auto Reboot, means your tablet still in download mode.
12. Still download mode, unplug your tablet from PC, and quickly Hold [Volume Down] + [Home] + [Power] to get out of Download mode, and screen goes black blank a sec, immediately swap to [Volume Up] (while still holding [Home] + [Power]) -- if you can't reboot into TWRP, you need to re-flash it again until successfully reboot into TWRP.
13. In a few secs, you will see bit waranty......: recovery top on left screen, and then you can let go of all the buttons.
14. You should now see TWRP, Swipe to Allow Modifications.
15. Now, let's do Backup, select that and select Storage, and select MicroSD card (or internal if you don't have microSD card), from backup, select partion to backup, select all of them, and do swipe to backup.
16. Now, you did full nandroid backup (in case you want to restore), click back button until you are on main screen, and click Wipe option, and do Format Data, type yes on the screen..it will format your data. Now, click Advance Wipe, and select only Dalvik /Art Cache, System, Data and Cache, and swipe to wipe...it may take a few sec, once it finish, click back, back..until you are main screen
17. On main screen, click Install, locate JazzROM zip file (where you put in step 6 above), and flash it...when it finishes, select wipe Dalvik /Art Cache, let it finish that too, and then select Reboot.
18. TWRP will prompt if it will install TWRP as system app, say do not install.
19. Your tablet should start rebooting...
20. Reboot may take anywhere 10 mins to 20 mins, be patient here...once it reboots, it should says initializing android black screen..let it finish all up until you see welcome screen...wait for a few mins on welcome screen, and then continue your setup as you normally do.
21. If all goose fine, you should be running JazzROM Nougat 7.1.1

I may update this post based on feedback from you guys....
This is awesome that you are working on this tablet sir. I have followed your work since my Galaxy Note 8.0 days and love your roms. Since you are going to be building for this tablet, I am going to drop out and let the real devs take it. Thank you once again for working with the SM-T350.
Can't wait to try it. I will be recommending everyone that uses my rom to use this.

bunch thanks for nice words... but please dont have high expectations these Galaxy Tab A (late 2015 models) does not very capable devices, so not much can be done, but try to add some goodies ported over from some other Samsung devices and see if how it plays...
Anything that you could add to this device is a plus Sir. Thank you.

Does this have overclocking/power saving features of other custom roms?
Wifi is not working for me. When I try to turn wifi on, it slides to the off position. I've tried power cycling the tablet and that doesn't fix it. Any ideas?

What firmware were you on before you flashed this rom? In my experience, if Wi-Fi doesn't work after flashing a rom to this device, that means you didn't have the correct firmware installed first. This is the only Samsung tablet that I own, that you have to flash the same firmware via Odin before flashing the custom rom.
I may be wrong on this and it may only be my device that does this but I thought I would mention it.

Any more info on this WiFi bug?

WiFi works just fine. This sometimes happens if you flash this ROM top of older firmware (lollipop..etc). So what I recommend is flash the original firmware of SM-T350 7.1.1 via Odin, and flash TWRP (getting this two piece is critical if you want bug free 7.1.1). Make sure you can reboot into TWRP....if you do, follow the instruction above and try again.

no it does not. I would not go with overclocking with Galaxy Tab A, remember this is not Samsung S7 or S8 or Note 8, overclocking this tablet may cause damage your tablet, possibly brick. and I am not Kernel developer.
Oh, maybe a noob question, but does my tablet need to be on Nougat to flash this?

No it is not noob question...it is important that you are Nougat firmware and TWRP - reason for that, flashing Nougat firmware ensures you have correct bootloader all that, so that when you flash custom ROM, you should not have any abnormal issues.
hope above make sense..
Ah! Thanks guys I'm a dummy.
another Q: I don't supposed I can flash the T350 stock Nougat rom onto T550? (at least, I tried with Odin, and it failed at Auth)

I don't think you can flash the stock t350 firmware via odin into the t550.
But I think you can flash this rom via twrp into the t550. I believe that's what I understood.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

OK, about T550, there's no official Nougat 7.1.1 firmware yet (but I believe it should be very soon).
second, you canNOT flash T350 offical firmware on to T550 device. It won't work.
third, while this ROM is based on T350, it should still work on T550, however, you have to be official 7.1.1 firmware on T550 device in order to flash this ROM.
however, you can try flashing this ROM top of your current T550 (make sure it is rooted and has TWRP installed), and see it works - it should.
For those that need it, here is the stock firmware for getting on 7.1.1 stock. Like the OP directed, you need to be on the latest firmware for this rom to work and this firmware can only be flashed via Odin. I used v3.10.7 I think lol.. I will check for sure and edit this post later but you can do a Google Search "what version of Odin to use" and you will find the information you need.
OP, I will delete this post if you don't want it here, just say the word.

Again, this is just the stock Samsung update that is flashable via Odin. This will give you the correct base to flash this rom on. I don't remember if you have to extract this zip or not (it's been a week since I did it) but if Odin doesn't see this zip, then you need to extract it and then flash the contents in Odin...lol..
This is a link to all versions of Odin with descriptions of what version flashes what. I checked, and I used v3.10.7 to flash this firmware and it flashed fine for me.
