How to ROOT & Flash TWRP; Cannot flash. FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) - Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

Hey,
I got an M4 Aqua but none of the rooting tools or guides are working for me.
I don't have xperia protect activated.
Bootloader is unlocked; using flashtool and unlockcode.
When I try to flash TWRP I get: FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) (with whatever time)
I have tried a few root programs and none are working;
TowelRoot, Z4Root, KingO-Root, OneClick Root, SuperOneClick.
Is there any guide that works and isn't a spamming website (geeksomething website is just survey spam).
Thanks!!!!!!!

It looks like that your bootloaer is not unlocked correctly.
I had the same errors.
Try to unlock your bootloader with the Flashtool 0.9.18.4
If you have other problems, try to deinstall the adb/fastboot drivers and install from \Flashtool\drivers

I have relocked and reunlocked and I still cannot get any flash.
Is there any other advice?

Me too im having exact same problem please help
otherwise this device is useless

Me too... I want to Root it as soon as possible

if M4 Aqua E2303 you have to be on firmware 26.1.A.1.128 and for M4 Aqua Dual E2363 you have to have firmware 26.1.B.1.85.
you can use flashtool to flash the ftf to go back on the firmware and then root the phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/root-how-to-root-5-0-lollipop-t3212108

Yeah but my phone is not entering download mode unfortunately....when I press volume down and power button..then connect device to USB cable,Sony logo dissappeared and blue led has glown....when I leave it logo is reappearing and charging symbol is displayed.... Plzz help

The problem was during unlocking bootloader I had:
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 1.015s
I tried to install software 26.1.A.2.99 but it was not easy (I installed fia Flastool everything besides system) and then I installed PC companion and flash for the new version via official updater 26.1.A.2.167.
After that everything has been working fine - unlocking bootloader and recovery, root has been made without problems.
Without unlocking bootloader you can not flash recovery.img

Installing Pre Rooted Kernel

I have an xperia ray (ST18i) and it is stuck on sony/sony ericsson logo forever. I already flashed many versions of stock roms (using flashtool) and nothing worked. If I flash an old rom (4.0.2.A.0.62) it will display sony ericsson and if I install a newer rom (4.1.B.0.587) or update vita pc companion/sus it will display the sony logo and hang there until the battery is removed or dead.
My device has a locked bootloader and is not rooted and I want to install a custom kernel/pre rooted kernel to install custom roms via CWM hoping it would solve my problem. So I unlocked my bootloader booted into fastmode and attempted to flash a pre rooted kernel but it says:
Flashing selected kernel
sending 'boot' (5760 KB)...
FAILED (remote: The Device must be rooted first)
finished. total time: 0.001s
FASTBOOT Output: sending 'boot' (5760 KB)...
FAILED (remote: The Device must be rooted first)
finished. total time: 0.001s
Please check the log before rebooting into system
Am I doing it wrong? Please help...

are you sure that you have unlocked bootloader?
type *#*#7378423#*#* ( *#*#service#*#* )and see what it says.
if it is bootloader unlocked : yes then continue
if it is bootloader unlock allowed : yes then go unlock the bootlaoder first

My device is stuck at the boot logo so i can't enter those..
I unlocked my bootloader by using the flashtool and entering a code which I think is the official way of unlocking..

Are you sure you tried to flash a kernel made for your device? And are you sure the bootloader got unlocked?
I guess your phone has a major problem and you can't solve it by flashing stuff/etc
Sent from my Nexus 4 running Android 4.2.2
Yes i am sure that the kernels/roms that I flash are compatible with my device, I got it from the help threads on xperia ray android development.
Already downloaded 4+ stock roms and kernels.. Tried sus/pc companion..
Now I am having doubts if I really unlocked my bootloader, because all the threads I read requires the device to be on for ticking/activating some things like usb debugging, and I did unlock mine while it is only one flash mode as I cant get past sony logo..
I am starting to think of bringing my phone to a service center, but i dont know if they are accepting repairs for phones not covered in service warranty..

International Unlocked Atrix - Failed to install CWM recovery

Hi,
I have an unlocked Atrix, and I have successfully performed the following:
1. Rooted the device using SuperOneClick v.2.3.3
2. Installed ROM Manager and installed CWM Recovery
However, I am unable to get into CWM Recovery. I get the following errors, when I try to boot to recovery using the ROM manager:
Code:
Failed to boot 2
Starting RSD mode
I have also attempted to installed the recovery using fastboot method, but also failed to do so. Here are the error messages:
Code:
C:\TEMP\AtrixRecovery>fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.8-olympus.img
sending 'recovery' (3992 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.233s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: (00180002))
finished. total time: 0.297s
I have also lost the Android Recovery as I am unable to have the device respond to me after I tap the bottom right corner after going to Android Recovery. So I cannot perform a hard reset too.
Any advise to help me move along? I would like to install a custom ROM, and if that is not possible I would like to at least return to the stock ROM.
Thanks!
How is rooting relevant?
It seems you forgot to unlock the BL.

May be I misunderstood.
Help me understand, I searched for what is the difference between locked and unlocked. My understanding is as long as I can use SIM card from different carrier, I have an unlocked phone, and unlocking is not necessary. Is this wrong?
Assuming I am wrong can you advise how to unlock the BL?
Thanks.
You are very wrong. Rooting has nothing to do with BL unlock, just as BL unlock has nothing to do with SIM unlock.
Please follow the unlock/flash procedures PRECISELY.

[Q] TWRP won't install on rooted device

I have xperia s (st25a) phone with android 4.0.4.
I already have rooted it (SU installed) and bootloader unlocked. Fastboot reports the correct version "5".
However, when I try to install TWRP, it gives the following error:
>fastboot.exe flash boot stock-6.1.A.0.452-twrp-2.4.0.0.elf
sending 'boot' (8124 KB)...
FAILED (remote: The Device must be rooted first)
Why does TWRP think it's not rooted? I have setup SU to grant every root request too!
Another issue - when I try to enter recovery with stock image, my phone gets stuck on boot with Sony logo and I have to remove battery to shut it down. Any ideas why wouldn't stock recovery work?
Thanks much for your help!
Help!
Any one has any ideas to try?

11. In the cmd windows type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version

Did you try with Flashtool?
I use that to unlock bootloader and did it with no problem....
Just an idea....
I just used flashtool to unlock mine.
make sure you have backed up your TA partition
from the dialer dial *#*#7378423#*#* somewhere in there in the unlock status, cant remember where and I'm not on stock anymore.

As you bootloader is unlocked you can just load any of the dual-recovery boot.img to get both cwm and twrp. I normally flash jackies one or chillychan's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2575909
I used that to install the dual recovery on my phone using the chillychan's post...
Do this:
Download the kernel-136-dual from his post
Download the SuperSu
Put the SuperSU in the phone SDCard for example...
Shutdown your device.
Plug the usb and press in the same time Volume Key Up
Open flashtool..
Click on the first icon is like a thunder... and select fastboot mode then click on "Select kernel to flash" and get the "kernel-136-dual.img"
And the flashtool install the kernel..
You see in the dialog box..
Unplug the usb cable and turn on you device and press the Volume key Down or Up
My case the Volume Down opens TWRP and then go to "install" and find the SuperSu that you put on the phone.. Install that and reboot
Nothing more to do...

Unlocking bootloader leads to "status unavailable"

I used flashtool to unlock my bootloader after following the procedure layed out here: http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-unlock-bootloader-on-sony-xperia-m4-aqua/
Specifically I created a new dir under "C:\Users\Admin\.flashTool\registeredDevices" with my device name "SDDSF334343" then inside that dir created an empty file called "ulcode", and inside that file inserted the unlock code I received from Sony (using the M model and my IMEI).
The flashtool did not complain and said "unlock complete" or some such and prompted me to reboot my device. However upon checking at *#*#7378423#*#* it shows "unavailable" for the bootloader unlocked status, and attempting to flash the recovery with "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" gives "writing recovery FAILED <remote: Command not allowed>", so obviously the bootloader isn't really unlocked it seems.
I found this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63328460&postcount=406, with someone who had a similar problem, but I don't understand what he means by remove the "0x"; my ulcode file does not contain this prefix anyway, only the unlock code I got from Sony and pasted in.
Any ideas?

Android version 5.0. Firmware: 26.1.A.2.167. Model number E2303. I used Flashtool v0.9.19.8 along with the minimal adb fastboot install (although I also tried again with the latest full Studio download, ugh). Flashtool reported success regards to unlocking, and allows me relock and lock again repeatedly etc
I noticed my phone has the "Bootloader unlock allowed: No" (after dialing *#*#7378423#*#*) before I try and unlock with Flashtool. Does this mean it really, genuinely cannot be unlocked, or does it just mean not officially?
Do I need to flash my phone to another version of the stock firmware to get around this problem? If so which version and would it break everytime my phone updated?
(If I understand things correctly, I can flash to another stock ftf even without unlocking the bootloader using Flashtool)
I started with 26.1.A.2.167 then my phone did it's update recently to 26.1.A.3.111. Neither of these firmwares made a difference to the above. Should I just pick a random stock ftf from XperiFirm?
I'm trying to unlock an e2306 that reports "Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed:no"
I follow the same procedure as the OP and the status turns to "Unavailable" but I do not seem to be able to get root access after this. If I repeat the BLU procedure I can re-lock the Bootloader and the status returns to "unlock allowed: no".
Does "unlock allowed: no" really mean no? My understanding of the tutorials I've found is that it doesn't matter. I may also just be missing something.

Your bootloader is inlocked, show Unavailable due to unlocked allowed: NO.
For fix remote failed when trying to flash recovery if you have windows 10 reboot in boot repair and choose disable driver certificate check then flash your recovery using fastboot.
Sorry for reviving an older thread, this is my first post so I hope it ends up being relevant. I am guessing the cause for me is similar since I am having the same problem using windows 7. I don't have a link handy, but i was able to get around it using a thread here on xda. Just search twrp bl locked m4 download the rootkit that matches your firmware and twrp installer file. Hope this is useful to someone.
Did you fix your's?
Mine says Rooting status: Unavailable
I can't flash recovery and img
I get Failed(remote:Command not allowed) in Fastboot
What I did in the first place was I unlocked my m4 aqua e2333 lollipop then root it using fastboot, it was successful then I decided to hard reset mine by deleting the system in recovery(I know I'm so stupid) then I'm stuck in the booting screen so I decided to download the marshmallow version then I took the system and put it in my phone using recovery,of course it didn't work because I'm in lollipop version and the system is from marshmallow then I flashed it using flashtool and it's successfu,l It worked!
But after that I get the Rooting Status:Unavailable
And can't flash anything except Ftf files and my sim 1 slot is not working,if I use both slot both won't work.
I can't find the right stock ftf for e2333 Lollipop(26.1.B.3.109_R6A)
I need the Stock ftf
I want to root and install different roms again
I'm new to Xperia and this is my first Xperia phone ever
Please help asap
Ps. At first it's Rooting Status: bootloader unlocked yes
I activated My Xperia
I think My Xperia is the problem
I read it somewhere here the when you unlocked you bootloader and activated My Xperia....I can't remember...
Is there's a way I can remove My Xperia in an ftf file?
