hi XDA community, i'm here to share with you my little project,i'm a noob just willing to learn all about android world and at this point i'm building from source just using custom toolchains and making few changes like changing optimizations flags, adding or deleting hotplugs and governors ,nothing more till now but i'm enjoying my builds and want to contribute to this community, well let's start.
THIS IS BY NO MEANS COMPLETELY MY WORK,this is 90% @ak kernel source modified to suit my needs.
FEATURES:
same as ak kernel for now plus more governors and compiled with Ofast and Graphite flags

Great work here.. i love radioactive kernel.. super power!!
Would like to ask.. CAF kernels i have seen are based on 3.4.0. I tried today AK CAF and its based on 3.4.0 while official CM is 3.4.6 and Custom has gone upto 3.4.109. Can some one elaborate the difference of 3.4.6 CM and 3.4.0 CAF

Woww thanks, nice work

Tnx ?

Please add charge control! Don't think any CAF kernels have it yet, 2A charging with screen on is too important!

Wow. Wheatley AND Adaptive AND based on ak? I think I shat my panties. I wish I could keep up with my profiles for all these kernels, but I just don't have the time. Nevertheless, love the kernel. Keep up the good work, broham!
P.s. would you possibly add in cpu_quiet? Loved it on my LGOG.

No threads available for profiles and, seeing as I'm a crappy thread maintainer, I figured I'd share it here.
Radioactive CAF Flexible 1.0
Slightly tuned adaptive (not much to tweak lol)
CPU0-1 1.19GHz
CPU2-3 1.72GHz
Minor hotplug changes
UV -100
ROW tweaks
Adreno Idler tweaks
Etc
https://app.box.com/s/p7c23c0gtbvqy8ilgz37zlknwbcnv3ee
Enjoy!

The only thing that i really missed....*Charge Control* on CAF Kernel....
Btw....not sure if OP @acuicultor can add this feature on Radioactive CAF-Kernel....? :good:

Yes I would love to have 2A charge also. Why no CAF kernel has it?

@acuicultor can you add more i/o like sioplus and tripndroid? Thanks

I think almost every kernel has fast charge also my kernel.
Sent from my A0001 using XDA Free mobile app

Not fast charge, charge control to manually specify 2A charging with screen on. Default behavior for screen on is max 1.1A regardless if kernel has fast charge or not.

You can try it out with battery monitor widget, with screen on you won't get any charge more than ~1100mah. While with screen off the charge will jump up to ~1800mah.
Another alternative would be to use those battery doctor usb dongles that show u the ampere drawing from the AC adaptor
With charge control, we can get ~1800mah regardless of screen state

Guys I don't know what you did but this is hands down the best rom for OPO. It's so smooth and the battery life is INCREDIBLE. First time i got 7 hours sot with 12+ hours idle. 2 hours sot and 7 hours idle only consumed 15% battery. Love it!

It is for CM and CAF based ROMs.
And because I use AnyKernel, it should work on most ROMs.
But of course it is worth to give it a try.

Maybe you flashed a non CAF ROM by mistake. The installer checks that the device code name is hammerheadcaf

Okay it looks like AOSPA kept device name to hammerhead instead of hammerheadcaf. You can wait for me to push a new zip or you can open the current one and add a hammerhead to the devices list, behind hammerheadcaf
--- EDIT ---
I've uploaded a new zip. You shouldn't encounter any problem now

No. TrueSight's dev has a different concept of how I want to manage my new kernels. I want to keep them minimal with only some tweaks to improve battery and performance. This kernel has a full upstream to Linux 3.4.113, while TrueSight is stuck at 3.4.0. So no, I won't merge TrueSight stuff

Thanks for sharing ur concepts!
Well, then can we suggest some cherrypicking? One thing id loved on CAF with custom Kernel is the ability to amplify speaker beyond limits, it was called speaker volume on adiutor

Hi joe,
which CAF base rom do you suggest to use with your kernel?
Thanks

I like to use halogenOS, it's a really nice ROM with a really nice team. But I may have something in the bakery for the ROM scene too, who knows
Running good here, thanks for developing caf kernel. :highfive:
Trying it now, so far so good... Thanks for your effort!

Hello!
I want to try to build unofficial AICP CAF with your kernel.
What string should I add into "aicp_manifest.xml" file in ".repo/local_manifests/" folder to make it possible?
Update: I appreciate your effort and I thank you for the time you have devoted to the development of the kernel, but I believe you prefer me to be sincere and not declare wonders when things are somewhat different. Therefore, I must say that, even if your kernel is stable, still it appears to be on par with lineage stock kennel, and still not up to TrueSight, which provides better performance, much better battery life, especially during standby, yet worse audio quality-speakerphone for example is unusable.
If I could express my opinion, I would suggest you pick up True Sight, fix audio, update it with latest security patches and we would have THE perfect kernel for CAF. Just my two cents!
Anyway, thanks again for your time and your dedication!

Before you install the kernel, make sure you have
a backup of boot partition in case something goes wrong!
If you are coming from stock kernel:
Reboot into TWRP
Flash the Affinity Kernel.zip
Reboot
If you are coming from another custom kernel:
Reboot into TWRP
Dirty flash your rom or restore boot backup if you have any
Reboot recovery
Flash the Affinity Kernel.zip
Reboot
Updating:
Just flash the latest Affinity Kernel build over the previous one

On ROMs like Dirty Unicorns, WLAN won't work because the wlan module is required
to load on device initcall rather than late initcall like other ROMs do. There's a workaround for it but
it breaks WLAN on all ROMs that have the module built inline or the CAF way

Thanks to:
@joshuous for his EAS commits and Dynamic Sched Boost
@osm0sis for his AnyKernel2 installer
@nathanchance for his android-linux-stable project and helping me
@Lord Boeffla for Boeffla Wakelock Blocker and LED control
@Sultanxda for his fixes and other stuff
@eng.stk for his tweaks
@flar2 for his Sweep2Sleep gesture driver
@tanish2k09 for KLAPSE Driver

I'll take this one
And this one
Thanks for the work, ill give it a try.
2 thing that bugs me are:
1- isnt restoring stock boot.img removes custom recovery and replaces it with stock one?(had that problem before)
2-is the kernel(pie) eas or hmp?
finally:good:
Thank you for your working on this kernel !
I have a problem with the least one. It's an eas kernel. My oneplus 5t restart it's os staying oneplus log more than 1 minute.Using r19 kernel spends about 30 seconds.
Is thit normal?
thank you.

1. Yes but it's better to do a backup of boot that has Magisk installed so you don't have to reflash TWRP
2. Since r20 it's EAS based

Haven't seen such behaviour yet, some users reported that it works perfectly on both 5 and 5T.
If I'm coming from a kernel like bluspark, I must flash the stock boot img first, correct? Where can I find this?

Kernel is good. Only thing i saw was cpu clocks wouldnt go down less than 800mhz and 500mhz.
Solid, liquid smooth, clean. For me it is better than RZ kernel

Affinity Kernel r21 is up!
Since r21, Affinity Kernel is available for custom ROMs as well. Should work well with every ROM except of OmniROM and TreskMod (which is Pixel-like OmniROM)
because Omni has its own way of loading the WLAN module so WiFi might be most likely broken. Anyway, you may also notice that on some ROMs that have EAS baked in, Affinity Kernel
default settings are not getting applied. That's because the ROM has its own post boot init script that overwrites my settings, not a big deal.
Here's the changelog:
Upstreamed to Linux 4.4.176
Support for custom ROMs
Some touchups for init script
Added O3 GCC optimalization
Readahead improvements
A bunch of kgsl improvements (adreno driver)
devfreq improvements
