Secondary screen lock - "SONY" - how do I remove? - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Build Number 23.4.A.1.200
I've recently updated my Z2 to the above build number. Around the same time, I also added an Exchange account through my work that forces a 6-digit PIN and encryption of the phone's contents.
I find the 6-digit PIN unlock is annoying as it is because I'm used to the pattern unlock... but I've noticed that every time I type the PIN in wrong the first time, the secondary screen (pic attached) comes up and I have to type the word "SONY" (only works in upper case too!) before I can reattempt the PIN again.
I've tried to search around online but can't seem to find anything at all about that screen...
Does anyone know how to remove this secondary unlock screen so that I don't have to type "SONY"? It pretty much means I have to unlock my phone with two hands. I'm not sure if it's part of the firmware update or whether it's a security setting forced by my company policy via the Exchange settings.
I believe the purpose of the screen would be to prevent accidental entering of the PIN 5 times, for example, while it's in my pocket and subsequently causing the phone to wipe the contents.
Appreciate any help... thanks!

Lock Screen Issue

Guys
I have searched the forum but cant find anything like this. When ever i set the screen lock it doesnt work, it ONLY works when i put a PIN on the device. I dont really want a pin on the device, just the screen to lock when it in my pocket.... any advice??
Oh this was working, but just suddenly stopped, I have tried factory resets but still nothing.....
Do you mean your lock slider stopped appearing? That's what just happened to mine. PITA when it's in its pouch because it keeps launching. Am trying to find a fix.
yes thats it. It just doesnt show any lock screen, but if i put a pin on the device it works fine, well except for showing a pin entry request which i dont want
OK, hello everybody.
I bump this one, because it's my issue too.
The fact is: at beginning the phone was ok. After screen went off, and when I turned it on, it used to show only the slide button, that used to unlock the phone, and that was all.
That was OK.
AFTER I SET UP AN EXCHANGE ACCOUNT (I make it twice: second time after a ROM Upgrade) the phone has FORCED ME to store a pin, and now the "request pin/password to unlock phone" function CANNOT BE TURNED OFF.
So, when screen goes down I MUST:
1) Click the on/off button
2) slide the on screen button
3) type in the unlock PIN and press "unlock"
Any way, any idea to disable ONLY THE 3 ??
Thank you
EDIT: HTC support understands NOTHING I'll keep this thread updated if any solution will be found...
EDIT 2: THE SOLUTION
Ok, after a long search: here's the solution (it's not spam: it's the solution to a problem)
http : // www . etenblog.com/2008/01/21/disable-exchange-security-policy-for-windows-mobile-devices/
and this is the original author:
http : // dedjo . blogspot.com/2007/12/how-to-disable-exchange-security-policy.html
(remove extra spaces)
DISABLE the exchange security policies (set key to 1 DWORD)
That was the thing that cause the FORCED REQUEST for pin/password.
EDIT3: BUT... everytime you sync with exchange, it FORCE YOU THAT POLICY again. So you have to ask your exchange admin to solve it.

[Q] Lock screen

Hi,
Not sure if this has been asked before, but If a pin number or password is set up for the lock screen, this can be bypassed by pressing the home button 5 or 6 times and will then open up the phone without the need to enter the password or pin. A work colleague found this out by accident and was able to access the phone uninhibited. Is this a feature in case of forgotten passwords / pins or is it a bug. Or can it be disabled? as it doesn't seem all that secure
Mine doesnt do that, tried it several times
must be a bug on your phone
Yeah I though that but another work colleague has the same phone and his does it as well. You have to press it quite quickly it seems to go into the voice control when it comes on and then goes on to normal phone use. I have found other references to it googling, but seems to be relating to a fix if you have actually forgotten the password.
We've been having a fiddle , and now having powered off the phones cold and restarting after setting the pin numbers it has stopped doing it. Up untill now after setting the pin code we hadn't actually powered off completely just into standby. SO you presumably must have to reboot the phone after setting the pin number.
Anyway both phones are working and cant replicate the issue, so hopefully sorted.
Thanks

[Q] [S][Security] How to replace Pin Unlock with normal unlock?

Hello, i think it's not becoming clear from the title, but i don't know how exactly to name it. I have a corporate email set on my Xperia S. Since the email is corporate, i had to set Pin Unlock, which is something i don't like at all - especially when i'm driving. Is there a way to trick the security settings or the android to think that i'm using pin code unlock, but instead to use the normal unlock screen? The only possible unlock solutions which i have now (having in mind that the device security is managed by the exchange service) are pin or password unlock.

Did I get that right? You want Android to think you have a PIN, but don't want to enter the code?
You could make a delay until lock, so if your phone switched off, and you turned it on again after a minute, it's not locked yet.
Actually it's almost as you say - i want to be able to lock it and use the normal unlock slide instead of entering a pin, without having to remove the device security setting - basically trick the phone that a pin unlock is used. I still want to be able to lock the phone, since otherwise it's not sleeping properly and is reducing even more the already short battery life.

I don't think it's possible.

Stuck on PIN screen after flashing to Nougat

A few minutes ago, my Z5 compact finished updating Android. When I turned it on, it would accept the SIM-pin number no problem, but it will not take my phone PIN. The four dots show up when I enter it, but it will not unlock the phone. Since the PIN is required after a restart, that leaves me in a pickle because I can't open it with a fingerprint either.
Is this a common bug? Does anyone know how to fix it?
(Edit: The phone is working. I can see notifications coming in, and can delete them, but the phone still won't accept my PIN. Even after a restart.)

Can't disable screen lock on samsung-stang5litre edition 5.0 password

Hello,
I'm pretty good at computers but when it comes to phones I'm a dummy. I set a password in my Galaxy S5 running samsung-stang5litre edition 5.0 I just bought this phone and it had this ROM installed. I looked up instructions online for this phone to remove it (settings are not working or showing for this ROM) for this phone model and there are no instructions for this ROM. How do I remove the password or do I have to reset this phone ? If I reset the phone will it still ask for the password ? The person who sold me this phone also changed how this ROM looks and deleted almost every program out of it before I bought it. Please help me.
Found help
Since no one answered back I contacted someone to help me. I'd have never figured this out by myself. I'm so glad for his help. This is what worked.
What you have to do to remove that pin, go to Settings>Lock Screen> Screen Lock> Pattern> Setup any pattern, then setup Pin Code with it after you setup the Pattern. (You already have a Pin set in, just use it). It will ask you to type it in twice.
Now Power Off and Power On the phone it will ask for the pattern, do 5 to 6 wrong patterns, it might time you out for 30 seconds after that, on the bottom right of the phone it will say "use your Pin Code", hit that button, type in the Pin which you already setup while you were setting up your pattern, then use that Pin Code to unlock the phone. Now Power Off and Power On the phone, you shouldn't have any pin or pattern code to unlock anymore.
This worked for me.
