Once again I'm making a thread to help out us wind and mobi users get to the questions that need to be answered....this thread comes from the days of when I had my g2x and someone made a thread similar to this since then I have made one for galaxy s3 and note2 users, someone else made one for galaxy s4 users and now I'm back and going it again.
If you got a question and I'll try and find you an answer!

For development, do we follow the AT&T thread or the T-Mobile thread?

General question since I didn't want to start a new thread...
Does WindMobile's D801 come factory unlocked or is it locked to the carrier?
Thanks!

Update 12/23/13:
XDA member shelnutt tipped me that freegee (free app on play) supports flashing twrp and cwm on 12b. I did it. Works. Back in bidness guys. Throw a thanks at shelnutt over in the 12b ota thread for the help.
But can you install a recovery?

Honestly it seems smoother to me. The screen is more responsive and call clarity is much improved.

Nope. Whatever the "Google Security Update" was had nothing to do with root.

Which TWRP file. I have tried many methods and files and all I get is the phone stuck on a black screen at boot. I can boot it back up, but it seems to corrupt the recovery. A link would be great. I returned to stock 10b, took the 2 OTAs then rerooted, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
How do we know you're not really a spy working with vzw to make us lose root!

No... I flashed the twrp version before the latest stable release. 3.2 and then updated that to 3.3 via twrp zip flash

Lol bc my name is breakingvzw and I've been helping folks with vzw root things on the HTC one forums and before that on the droid razr.
Also you don't lose root.

Attention Everyone... You can keep your root if you use voodoo, yes... However, good luck getting anything other than a stock recovery. The Loki bypass on the bootloader is what I believe the "security" patch is. I tried using Flashify, Root Recovery installer, etc none worked. Black screen on recovery. Tried to push recovery through ADB only to find that the partition was denying access to write to it. However I did manage to flash stock firmware and get my custom recovery back with no issues. So, if someone can get a recovery going, that's great please tell us exactly how you did it, but everyone else consider yourself warned. Lol... And in all honesty, the camera seemed improved... Lighting wise that's it... Touch screen still acted retarded for me.

So how long until a stock rooted 12b rom? Wouldn't mind helping test one.

In currently running stock firmware but rooted. I'm in the 3 network in the UK. I checked the other night to see if an update was showing and nothing, and I've been checking periodically over the last few weeks.
Tonight I thought I would give it a go and I am currently downloading a 548.36mb update. Does anyone know what this is??

Its kitkat buddy
It has to be Lollipop, pal
For real?! I didn't think I would get the OTA as I am rooted. Plus I've not heard anyone else getting it.
Is it sad that I'm stoked about this?!

Please where can I get the Android N KDZ or TOT file to update my AT&T LG G5? I live outside the US.

Nowhere because AT&T hasn't released it and probably won't just like they haven't released previous versions
