Couple questions before I sell my Note2 on Swappa. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey guys. It's been a while since I've poked around the Note 2 sub-forum. A year or so ago I picked up a pair of 2013 Moto X's for my wife and I to make my life a little easier. I had a note 2, she had a s3. Playing admin for two devices, and keeping up with their individual quirks was proving to take up too much of my time, so, we decided to stream line. I wouldn't say the Motos are better by any standard, but, making the switch has made my life easier.
Recently, we've decided to move. We started going through our drawers cleaning things out and found these devices and thought we should sell them. They're both bootloader unlocked, so, they can run the latest and greatest CM builds. The thing is though, I've pretty much forgot what I'm doing with them.
I don't want to odin the device back to 4.1 and re-unlock it all, but I do want to clean up the device so none of our information is on it before shipping it off to it's new owner.
Can anyone offer any advice on how to wipe on the Note 2? Any changes that I should be made aware of that's happened with the device in the last year or so? I was gonna flash the unofficial CM12 build with gapps but if there's any other recommendations I'd love to hear them.
Thanks in advance.

Atrix, should I buy or not

hi guys,
I know this has been asked already, but all I see are very old threads and a lot has changed since.
Since the Galaxy SII and sensation are available now, so my question is should I buy an Atrix or should i look for other options. I am asking this question here as most of the people are using Atrix and can better tell how the phone is. If given a second chance will you buy Atrix again ?
It really depends on the money you want to spend. I got the Atrix for $99 on contract, so it was attractive to me. The higher res display was also a plus for me. When the GB update comes it'll be nice to have the 1080p recording. Also the lapdock function works fantastically for me. I travel a lot and it's nice to be able to use my phone as a laptop and charge it at the same time.
But the Galaxy S2 has a slightly faster CPU, same RAM and the display is leagues ahead in color reproduction. Seriously, looking at them is sort of unnerving because of the ridiculously bright colors.
Otherwise I'm sure they're fairly comparable.
Decide for yourself, then you can't come back here and complain to us when you're not happy.
well i have had most of the latest android phones out there at the moment and currently have the Atrix.
Things i like about it are...
1. The size, i find that the 4" screen and overall size of the phone are perfect for me, fits great in the hand and i can select most things with one hand.
2. Screen quality is great..more 'natural' than the galaxy s2, just a shame they didnt coat the screen in the same way to resist fingerprints
3. Call quality is excellent, audio quality through headphones i find to be really good (i use Klipsch x10) and it sounds great.
4. External speaker is one of the best ive known on a phone, better than the iphone 4 and galaxy s2...yes ive owned both.
5. notification led....many of the current android phones seem to leave this out but im glad the Atrix has one as its really useful.
Things i dont like....
1. 2.2 Froyo....really, along with moto-blur nearly ruin a great phone. The phone really dosent perform like a 2 core phone. However, this can be improved by using an alternative launcher like ADW ex....thats what i am using and makes scrolling between screens much smoother and less laggy.
2. The wait for gingerbread.....Motorola could be onto a big fail like sony ericcson did when they brought out the xperia x10 with android 1.6...it had everything going for it then they slaughterd it with 1.6! crazy!
Other than the fact that it is let down by having froyo i like everything else about the phone..infact i probably find it worse than others might because i have owned the galaxy s2 quite recently (sold because it was too big for me to hold in one hand) and that phone is fantastic. Very smooth and very quick...this really is where the Atrix should be
Just my view of course...
will i stick with the Atrix?.......well if gingerbread comes out in the next couple of weeks then there is every chance...if not....well i like the look of the xperia neo
these are the facts
this phone is awesome
it sucks in the same respect bc nobody, wants to dev for it, i have not seen a single anything in the last 6 months, and finally we get a leaked buggy build from hongkong and an unlocked bl
id say 90% of atrix script kiddies on here suck
, all they do is ***** about release dates, and when is cyanogen coming, and when someone finally releases something, they troll the boards just ripping the guy a new a**hole
this phone is great but if you like modding your phone and flashing custom roms
this phone will never be there in my opinion,
and it doesnt even need an xda portal bc nothing is being developed, just gingerbread skins
and questions being asked over and over and over.
so in conclusion buy the gs2 if you like roms go to that thread , theres a ton
and if you like a great phone thats small and has a high resolution, and will probably never see a custom rom, but is stable, buy the atrix

wohooo..that is like too much of hatred.
Let me put in some facts regarding the development in this one:-
The BL has just been unlocked and custom roms are being worked on, you need to follow the devs on twitter and check out the Atrix dev section on Rootzwiki, just go the irc chat and find out more.
Official GB should be released soon, if it is not then an Atrix has already been donated to the CM team and CM should come out for the Atrix.
The leaked 2.3.4 build has nearly been perfected and AFAIK it is fit for daily use.
thanks for all the suggestions. I am quite fond of flashing ROMs. I bought a HD2 just because of its ability for modifications. since there isn't much work being done on moding Atrix, I guess I'll have to opt for Galaxy SII (btw I didn't like it due to its size)
There is a ton of development going on now for the Atrix. The last couple of weeks has been insane as far as that goes. Official Gingerbread 2.3.4 is rumored to come out this month. There is a leaked version that is pretty stable out now. The boot-loader is now FINALLY unlock-able so DEVs are going to and have already started new Kernels and ROMs. Choice is yours though.
Nah..don't bother with the stupid 2.3.4 Chinese leak. Its buggy and some limited functionality. Don't really see the point of flashing to the leak 2.3.4 update then reflashing it with the official 2.3.4 update. Flash much!?
Buy the Atrix when the official 2.3.4 comes out and check back XDA after a couple of months when fully functional roms and themes comes out. No need to frustrate urself and end up like the other idiots who can't read and flashed 2.3.4 and screwed up. Alot of that been happening lately.

Noob asking for knowledge

Here's the situation, I currently have a Sensation, T-Mobile. Figured out how to Root, how to flash. Also figured out I don't ever want a phone running stock EVER EVER EVER again. So now I'm going to buy a Amaze Or Galaxy S2. No I don't need it, but this **** Is cool. I'm 40 years old, have 5 daughters, an ex wife, and a good wife, so learning, and messing with these phones Is really something I enjoy.
From what I see Samsung seems to always have more devs than HTC. I also THINK wholegrain Cm Is pretty important as I see it, because there support leads to MIUI and more stuff. So here are my questions.
1. Will CM develop for both phones, ?
2. Will MIUI come to both?
3. Will one receive more help than the other?
Please feel free to let me know If any of my thinking Is wrong. I'm a noob and I'm 40 so I'm the worst kind. Ha

TMI . You should get the Galaxy S2 over the Amaze. CyanogenMod is already available for the Galaxy S2 and so is MIUI (so obviously the Galaxy S2 has more development going on).

Can you install ROM's on a fake knock off

So i have this Galaxy S4 Gt-i9500 Mediatek, which is is a fake copy of the original. I've been using it for over a year and it has been great so far, totally worth it for the $150 price. I've been able to root it, and that has worked out great, but i want to take things to another level.
I'm thinking of installing a new ROM on it. But i dont know if it will work. I had a fake iPhone 4s a while ago and when i tried to install a new rom, it totally bricked it.
So the question is, will my phone work after installing a new ROM.
What do i need to know, as a ROM newbie i am
Thanks in advance guys

I can't help you with your device but I caution against experimentation unless you can aford to lose the use of the phone.
Mediatek devices are on my list as AVOID-AT-ALL-COSTS because the company has been so power-user/hacker/developer unfriendly. It now wants to be seen as developer-friendly (more likely has had to change slightly to secure participation in the Android One programme). I would suggest that a device like the 1st gen Moto G would have been a far better use of your $150 than this S4 clone or all the various other device-XXX clones. The Moto G works great, has little crap preloaded and, it has a healthier developer community than any mediatek device to date (afaik).
Good luck finding a rom. Please report back so your research might help others who bought the same phone.

[Q] Flash Addicts Anonymous

Flash Addicts Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a ROM Flashing problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her flashing problem.
I have a G3, but with jasmine and cyanogenmod for the G3 and L out on nexus devices - i might need to pick up a new white chip.
Anyone else neglect their responsibilities and waste time at work flashing new roms?
I do at at work and in class when the professor gives long lectures.
I'm a long time sufferer, through many Android devices... If its not my current G3(Rooted on its first power-up, have had Jasmine, CM11, currently has Liquid, and just downloaded Vanir to try) Coming from a HTC One(M7) that got flashed more than Joe Francis, there always seems to be something new, even with a phone that's only had TWRP for a month or so......

I'm a recovered flashoholic. My addiction started with the Samsung Omnia but ended with the Samsung GS3. Today I have been fine with Xposed since the launch of LG G3. I guess I was able to end it due to all the devs out there that created apps that were missing from older phone builds, Big Thanks to them all. But since the big companies took notes and ideas from Forums across the net, newer phones have most of what I need in a smartphone. But as soon as Beans release a Lollipop build, I'll be back at it 1 more time. ?

Looking for most stable rom

Hi all, I have a refurbished At&T note 3 that hasn’t been booted since I got it from an insurance claim back in 2015. I kinda forgot about it. Then today I got curious if there were stable custom rims that make it usable again to play around with. Not to be used as my main device. Anyhoo I’ve been absent from the forums for a long time. Hoping somebody will point me in the direction of the most stable custom rom available for this device please and thank you. I’m looking forward to tinkering with it again
