LiquidSmooth is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project.
Dedicated to providing users with smooth, stable and fast ROMs. A Lightweight modified AOSP base, and then add the features you crave!
***disclaimer***
While I make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, I am not responsible for anything that may happen to your device.
I ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash!
If you are smart enough to download and flash software then you should be smart enough to assume all responsibility for modifying your device and take steps to ensure you have backups and a recovery plan in place.
I am not responsible for thermonuclear war or you bricking your device and smashing it against a wall after you made a hockey puck out of it.
ROM is built from current LS source and uses the CM Themes engine. I have another build using RRO Layers but frankly speaking RRO layers is sketchy at best IMHO and not yet ready for prime time without serious refinement. I built this as a hobby project because the SMT-900 has been sadly neglected by devs and because I'm a diehard LiquidSmooth fan. I hope you like it as much as I do. None of this would be possible without the time spent, hard work and dedication of the following devs:
chhaggerty for his device and vendor repos
crpalmer for the initial bring up work on all the tab family
The LiquidSmooth team
Cyanogenmod

INSTALLATION:
I recommend a full wipe AFTER YOU MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP OF YOUR CURRENT SETUP!! This ensures no leftovers get in the way and we all know where you started from! Updates can be done via standard reset wipe.
RECOVERY AND GAPPS:
I use and recommend TWRP RECOVERY and FLASHIFY [ROOT] from play store to update TWRP via .img files.
I like SLIMS GAPPS myself PA work well too..

I tried an alpha build of this about 6 months ago and I found it very impressive, notably with the built in Adiutor, with a 10% less footprint than CM. However, at the time I couldn't get my SD card to work, why I had to abandon. But, I will definitely try it now when it's up as a beta. I have really high hopes for the potential of this ROM./arc
It booted up smoothly, supersu and adiutor are pre-installed as system apps, proceeding installing Xposed and all my software (+4GB)...
Everything seems to run very smooth and the unit is very responsive. I will play around with adiutor a little, trying to find some optimal settings.
Thank you very much for bringing this up.

My fault,I had forgotten it was a system app.

Rom is working great & it's flying! So far, everything I've tried works well.
Is there a way to fix the 3 second delay when waking the device?

I was just wondering the same thing about the wake-up delay.
Also, the Kernel Adiutor seems limited to view settings, am I doing something wrong?

Kernel auditor seems to be working fine for me.
Update : I raised the minimum frequency to 300MHz & that helped the delay with waking the device.

Maybe it's just a question that I don't know how to use it. Could you supply some detailed info of how to arrive to the settings? Thanks in advance/arc

Sure, you just click the 3 line menu in the upper left, click on CPU, & three columns will appear. Touch where it says cpu minimum frequency in the left column & all frequencies will appear. Than you click the one you want to use. I hope this is what you're looking for. If not, let me know.

Great nickster, many thanks, I will try it once I'm back on the ROM, currently I'm trying out the SlimLP. What app are you using to tweak the CPU is that one?

It works. You have to go to settings/LiquidSmooth/Interface/power menu & select the reboot menu in there.

Hows the battery life on this? I am currently on the CM 5.1.1 and it isn't so great (since 5.1).
Also, does one need to update the firmware before proceeding? I would assume so.

I don't think it matters what firmware you're on actually. Battery life is the same as it is on cm which for me has been pretty good.

Can anyone confirm if Citrix Receiver works on this ROM?
Thanks

Tablet freezing
I have an app that is causing this ROM to freeze. It is Nascar's mobile Raceview app. The app is VERY graphic intensive in that it use GPS to track the position of 43 race cars on the track and display full color animation of the cars during a race. You can choose any one of the 43 cars and zoom in on its image and follow it and the cars close to it around the track. And you can also change to pont from which you are viewing the cars. Almost as if you had a drone with a tilt and zoom camera.
My question is, is there anything I can do in the settings to keep it from freezing? I've used the app on tablets with far less capacity than the Tab Pro without any problems. And i've used it with other ROMs on this tablet without problems.

Bugs
APN's must be wrong in the apn-config.xml. To get mobile data working read this post, thanks to kraziekc for posting the fix.
You have to go to Settings/Developer options/Root access and place a check mark beside apps and adb. This will be fixed in next version.
Bluetooth will not turn on but the fix is already in TeamHorizon github, I just need to sync and build when I get time.
If you go to Settings/Display/Brightness and select the settings icon on the slider it will FC. Again fix is already in TeamHorizon github.
Read Very Important
OTA
If you want to use the OTA function of this ROM you need to download the gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip package and place it in the root of your internal sdcard. If you wish to use the 4.2.2_Gapps_No_PhotoSphere.zip or any other gapps package you must go to Settings/XenonHD updates. Then press the menu soft key and select Settings/Set GApps Package name and enter 4.2.2_Gapps_No_PhotoSphere.zip or what ever the name of the package you want to use is.
If you want to receive OTA notifications and have the OTA app auto flash the update you need to go to Settings/XenonHD updates. Then press the menu soft key and select Settings and place a check beside "Show Notifications" and Automatically Flash, see attached acreen shot.

I love that I can dual boot TW and Aosp. I can run whatever I want for aosp for fun on my secondary and my AllianceROM for the primary. Freakin awesome.
Keep the lookout for AllianceRom for Aosp (4.2.2). I will be building those for the Note 2 soon.

Sorry but when i first opened the thread i did put the wrong download link up but I fixed it not long after that. If you look it has t0ltevzw in the name wich is what the Verizon device is named. I promise this build was made strictly for the i605.

You will find that when you build for the t0lte devices your bigest issue will be overlay errors in your device tree folders. Most spacificly the device/samsung/smdk4412-common and device/samsung/tolte folder. What overlay errors you get will depend on where you pill work tree you use and what source you are using to build with. But once you get those two folders sorted out you should be good. Make sure you have your init.local.rc setup correct our your camera will not work.. Last stay on top of the vendor/samsung proprietary files configuration. If it is not right GPS and other services will not work. Just trying to give you a heads up.

Gotcha. I downloaded it within minutes of you starting the thread but didn't notice the file name issue (saying t0lte instead of t0ltevzw) until I nearly flashed it. I am grabbing the correct build right now but it probably won't be until later today until I get a chance to test drive it as I'm about to head off to work. :crying:
Great ROM, would recommend it. Once the reboot issue gets fixed it will be even better.

this is more of an AOSP issue...um, I may be mistaken but Plasma kernel has sound control which you can tinker with in Stweaks...give it a shot
I hate to be that guy but can anyone get a GPS lock on this ROM? I came directly from the illusion ROM and there I could get a lock in less than 5 seconds. This ROM couldn't get a lock at all. Just curious if this is my phone only.

The power control widget is on the screen to the left of the main home screen as default if that is what your looking for. The advanced reboot options are on by default as well. As for a "power widget" we do not have a widget to control the power of the device as far as reboot or shut down.

Did you do a full wipe before you flashed? You should be getting a really fast lock on GPS. I usually get one within 2 to three seconds inside my house.
Yup, I clean flashed the ROM and no lock
I even tried formatting the internal but it gave me same results. Well, at least I know its something wrong with my phone.
For the audio problem I used the NEAK kernel along with the uNEAK engine app to blast my volumes all around. I used it for the illusion ROM but haven't tested it for this ROM. I don't see why it wouldn't work on this ROM.

Fast boot..which I've come to expect from almost all slim builds.
Been awhile since I used slim..forgot about the DPI difference. Might be worth noting in the op.
No theme support..again, been awhile..lol
Super Smooth transitions, fast responsive browser
I think I would run this as a daily..just from initial look. But I must have theme support and I would also have to change the DPI..but that would be easy enough.
All in all..nice build. I'll stick around and see how it develops..but for right now I'm going to give you're aokp a swing.:good:

I was thinking of changing the dpi from 182 to 210 but wasn't sure if users would want that, so I'll make a note of it in the op. thanks for the tip. i honestly don't think any slim builds will get theme engine, users have been requesting that for ages and hasn't happened.

This is a very nice Rom and I plan on using as my daily. How could I go about changing the DPI? I will do research on this very topic, but figured I'd ask since you said it'd be simple. I would appreciate your help. Thanks, even though I know this isn't your rom.

+1 what peterson65 said. the way i do it is via "root explorer" (the app) navigate to system change permission to r/w open up build.prop and look for "ro.sf.lcd_density=182" and just change 182 to what ever like (320 is stock), save after making the edit and reboot to see it the change sticks.

Hey, I flashed this ROM today. Very nice looking and feeling, but I'm having one major issue. When I go to unlock my phone (hit the power button to turn the screen on), the screen doesn't turn on. The button is working. The capacitive buttons under the screen light up, but the actual screen doesn't turn on. I have to hit the power button 2-5 more times.
Anyone know what is up and how to fix it?

Where are those option in this ROM? I can't seem to find them.
Also, why isn't Google Hangouts compatible with this?

you need to use an app to raise cpu speeds this rom doesn't have that feature built in, I'm using "setcpu". what do you mean not compatible? i just installed it fine, if you obtained it from gapps that might be why.

Installing SetCPU now. I'll let you know if that works. For Hangouts, it wasn't in Gapps. I'm trying to get it from play store, but it says incompatible.
not sure why it would say that but try clearing play store data and try again.

Cleared Store data. Same thing. Also tells me it's incompatible when I check from the desktop web Play Store.
Also, I don't seem to have root? I thought that any custom ROM would automatically have root access. What do I need to do to get Root so I can use SetCPU?
Thanks for all the help!
Thank you so much for continuing to build for our notes. Appreciate it very much! I love my note, and hate to give it up. . Be a few days before I'm able to load this, but when I do....

Noticed an issue with using Nav rings shortcut for sound.
Ring/Silent makes a sound like it's working, but it actually doesn't.

ROM is amazing so far, but one little annoying thing: DT2W works maybe half the time at best. The other half of the time, the phone doesn't respond at all, even if I tap it a few dozen times with varying speeds and locations on the screen. Contrasting that, DT2S works every single time, whether I do it from the status bar or with the Home key (I have it set double-tap on that too, since I really miss s2s on the navigation bar like is available on Sense kernels).

I have posted this a couple place and have not got a response yet. Maybe u can help? With the new CM audio commits added I am getting a very faint popping sound coming from my speakers and continuously. I have attached a link to a screen recording with sound and you will have to run it up and listen closely but you can hear it right in the beginning and then again toward the end after I hit the home button. It does not do it when I run an RUU back to stock and never happened on any builds until these audio commits.

ROM is built from current SlimLP source and uses the RRO Layers engine. I have a different ROM build using CM Themes and posted this to provide users with a choice. I built this as a hobby project because the SMT-900 has been sadly neglected by devs and because I've always been impressed with SlimRoms features and reliability. I hope you like it as much as I do. bout time, was waiting for you to get this out:good:
one thing I noticed on 1st boot (screen took 15 sec to turn back on from lock screen) long delay
maybe want to attach a link to supersu for those who want root
even after flashing supersu and clocking min to min and max to max(in setcpu)
screen took 15 sec to turn back on from lock screen
min free values probably need to be adjusted?

Thanks for the comments in testing! I did a clean install verified everything worked and went back to my other rom which I prefer as my daily. I'm doing a full setup now and app install and will make a backup so I can jump back to check issues. The builtin SU works fine for me although I too prefer SuperSU Pro will check things out.

Lets all hope that 6.0 isn't as problematic to build for as 5.1.1 just waiting for teams to finish merging code...
Oh man, I never thought I'd see this for our device! Thank you!
The Xposed-v75-sdk22-arm was the xposed version I finally got working with this ROM.
Is there a way to turn of the lockscreen altogether inside the ROM, or am I better off finding an xposed module for this?
I find both the Slim and Liquid smooth difficult to wake up, is there a screen sensitivity setting somewhere that I missed?

Bump the minimum frequency up for the wake delay & I think you can disable lockscreen in settings/security. Actually this doesn't fix it once the device is asleep for a while. It goes back to the wake delay. I'm also seeing a small amount of lag here and there. Sometimes when I'm looking through recents, it gets a little jittery. All in all though, it's a great first release.

On this one I'm using fauxclock, but there are many great free apps in the playstore that would do the same thing. Kernel Auditor & Synapse are both free. Bumping the minimum cpu frequency will not help if the device goes back into a deep sleep though.

I'm so happy to read that another dev has found love for our Tab Pro 12.2. The wake up delay has happened to me after I have tried the Samsung 5.1 rom. Before I have been on @charggerty cm for months without the delay. When I restored back my cm backup the delay was there. Also after going back with Odin to previous Samsung stock and restored the cm backup afterwards the delay was there. Now I'm on stock rooted Samsung 5.1 because i cannot stand the delay. Could that have happened through bootloader upgrade? But i thought that Odin would flash the bootloader back?

If you upgrade to the 5.1.1 firmware, there is a delay when you hit the power button to turn the screen on after it's been sleeping for a while.

WOW thank you for releasing another option for us CN ROM users. Though I just install and checking LOS (Latest) after I check this will try this next as seeing that this is tagged as STABLE. and also waiting for other users to test and see. Kudos!
Any Screenshots?
Thanks for the smooth and stable stock Android experience.. Great job!
Only thing missing is face unlock. Can't find it in the settings. Not a big deal for me. ?

Face unlock is taken down by almost all ROMs due to OEM DMCA
Hello, Does CarbonROM has LiveDisplay like lineageos has ?(Change the white point of the display )
I can't add outlook account. App keeps force closing.
Edit: It works after I restart the phone
Silly question?
I couldn't find up to date information on the main web site about the features and the enhancements of this ROM.
I need also to know whether it is based on other ROMs (besides the AOSP by Google).
Thanks in advance.

I didn't face anything such but chromium based browsers crashes maybe it will be fixed by next build
Here is my 1 Week Review of the ROM:
Everything Works , except entire camera like RUI. FP works, I got my Banking App work unlike LOS with Magisk (20.3).
There are some slight issues: sorry I dont know how to send logcat or even to have it.
Random Reboots - turning Mobile Data + GPS 2 times already same scenario using a Food App. Also Changing Mobile Network Type. (There is a lot of options: I use LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA here in Philippines) Also got a random reboot testing all of the network type. Maybe there is a issue with Mobile Data? Not so sure.
Unlocking the phone via FP sometimes doesnt turns on the screen even I hear the unlocking sound. I have to press the power to turn off and unlock again.
AOD is not 100% active as most of the case I have to turn on the device ( i dont have any battery saving option turned on) and the screen is entire blank and not sure why is FP not responding that moments. Maybe you can look into it? or advise in case I have missed something.
Battery is great even I dont have to worry since I can charge this quickly. Games like Mobile Legends are great. havent test CODM but soon. (I realize that ML seems not locking 60FPS really as I got 59.1 - 59.9 this is clearly the ML's dev fault)
Nontheless I am Happy as I can enjoy the ROM . Kudos and more power! looking foward to test your new updates regarding this ROM.
PS. do we will have a performance update on this ROM? Cheers!

I think they mean either "RMX1931" or "RMX1931CN".

Random reboots and FCs usually vanish with a totally clean install (no backup+restore, no dirty flashing).

Mine is "RMX1931EX" so I guess it's incompatible.
Btw thanks for the real quick reply.
