Does such an app exist? (Macro-related, I _have_ searched extensively...) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've tested & exhausted all I could find on Google Play. What I need:
1. A way to either record or script screen taps by x-y coordinate etc.
2. Assign different sequences of screen taps to different h/w buttons, i.e. Macro1 is activated by Volume+ key, Macro2 is activated by Volume- key, etc. Optionally, long-press detection would be very nice.
Can anyone tell me if this app or functionality exists for Android?
Thanks

Disable volume button and enable audio note taking instead?

Is it possible to disable the volume button and enable it instead to start/stop audio note taking?
Thanks
I want todo this exact thing. Any luck with responses?
No.
greatest invention
This is the greatest thing I've been told. Go get a pda, and make notes while your driving etc..
And then they go and remove the function. And replace it with a volume button that doesn't even work properly!!
Martin
Try this...
I dont't know if it will work but maybe you could try this little button mapping tool:
http://romfour.free.fr/adrom/products/btmap.htm
Give us an update if it worked!
No it doesn't. They seem to have removed the mapping id for the volume button. You used to be able to map it through control pannel in really old versions.
Anyone know what it used to be?
Workaround
Hi,
AFAIK it's not possible to use the volume button for other functions, but you'd be able to use another button for this.
I like to have the most common things within some klicks, so I used the calendar-button for audio-recording (you can switch to the calendar by clicking your appointments on the today-screen anyways).
Settings -> Buttons: Set Button 1 to Recording (not sure if the translation is correct, I'm using the german XDA)
Thanks
Thanks for the workaround, yes it works fine, even if I was expecting a start/stop function rather than a push and hold. But now I'm using it I prefer this method.
Mame can remap the volume button so it must be possible.

[Q] Virtual D-pad application

Hi,
I'm search for some d-pad app, which can show me virtual d-pad on screen. I found some, but it doesn't met my needs. I need d-pad for example for edit of searched value. This can be done by "arrow" or trackball - but we have nothing of these.
I also tried remap UP/DOWN d-pad keys on volume UP/DOWN but I can't set up volume during call, mute, configure volume...
My requirements
- I don't want see d-pad all the way. I would like bring-up virtual d-pad by some hw key (long/short search button press for example) or for example from notify or by tiny persisted virtual key on display
- it should be possible move d-pad on screen
I found only one app which is really is close to my requirements, but it works strange and have sometime FCs. It is called softkeys.
I do not understand, why for windows mobile exist so much virtual d-pads, services for handling key shortcuts even gravity control "d-pad" but for android nothing?

[REQ] Remap Volume Keys Long-press (even while phone is locked)

I'd like to remap my volume keys so when i long-press them i can perform and specific function, even when the screen is locked.
I know CM7 had a feature you can map the keys for camera or next/prev track for music app, but what i would like is a Long-press option for screen brightness.
I also understand there are apps like widgetlocker which allow me to adjust from the lockscreen, but this doesn't work if i'm getting a call (with the sun beaming down its hard to see who's calling). Maybe there is an app on the market for rooted devices i'm missing?
I think this would be a cool feature and could have many uses, not just brightness/camera(no need on 3VO)/music.
any dev think its possible or can take a crack at it?

[Q] adding items to search button

Surprised I can't find anything about this one via google.
Is there a way to add items to the long-press of the search button and/or change the function of the single press.
Preferably, I'd like to change it, so when I single press the search button a shortcut of my choice is launched instead (in my case, a single click to open a Folder Organizer folder).
I have been doing this to launch task manager since long long time
Here is what you need to do:
1. Install launchkey app
2. Launch the app, and select the app you want it to open up
3. Long press search key, and map it to launch key permanently
4. Long press and it will launch the app mapped to launchkey
I found Launchkey this morning, bought & refunded it. When I tried to pick a custom app it didn't do anything at all. Custom menu worked though.
Sadly, even if Custom app worked, they don't allow a shortcut - just apps
Playing with ButtonRemapper (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464). Doesn't allow shortcuts either, but at least one can map to Camera or Phone button instead of search. Oddly, mapping it to Phone caused the long press to activate Vlingo (or something like that). Dunno if I'm keeping, but will mess around.
Considering the customization of Android, I'm very surprised the default O/S doesn't let you map the button & long press to anything - or at least an app in the market!
It does; it allows to map based on application that tries to make use of it. On my phone, it was popping up 6-7 options along with launch key, with go sms pro, voice command, voice search, etc being some of them. The app needs to be coded to make use of it. Android supports this feature.

Is there anyway to map a hardware button (Vol Up) to a specific touch area?

Hello guys,
I'm playing PUBG on S9+ Exynos and have trouble shooting while aiming.
Is there anyway to map the Volume UP button to the touch screen where the shoot icon is so I can shoot with the pointing finger while aiming and moving with 2 thumbs like on consoles?
Non-root method please
you need BxAction (or some other app that can remap hardware buttons. BxAction can remap Vol up/down and Bixby), tasker, and auto input.
- Use bxaction to map the button you want to a Tasker task (let's call it ShootGunTask, for example)
- in Tasker's ShootGunTask, go to the plugin and choose autoInput. Then input the display coordinate if the icon
I use something very similar to what you want in Telegram. When I'm in telegram app, short clicking Bixby button clicks the "send voice note" button. Effectively turning my phone into a walkie-talkie.
