android 5.1.1 galaxy s5 bluetooth and volume any workaround? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a rooted galaxy s5 with 5.1.1 stock rom loaded (pre rooted)
I will just make one thread with these questions I cant find answers to
1) media volume limiter is something new in 5.1.1 and annoying as sht.
it resets every time and now my Bluetooth source is much qieter than rest of the sources (indash)
is there a hack to disable the volume limit? I searched all the menus couldn't find it
2) Bluetooth connects both phone and music and I have to manualy disable the phone part every time which is again stupid
I don't want to select to take calls on cellphone everytime when using Pandora. but theres again no permanent option to save the selection
3) is there an app that can automate things like turning on Pandora when Bluetooth is connected? so I don't have to again manually turn it on and off every time.
It would b nice to have Pandora turn on when Bluetooth is connected and turn off when its disconnected

Bluetooth Audio help! (sorry Mods for posting this in the wrong section earlier)

Hello All,
Recently I upgraded to firmware 2.3.3 and noticed that now, whenever I'm connected to bluetooth ( I have an integrated hands free link in my car) my audio from my phone would be rerouted to the car stereo. Due to my heavy navigation dependency on my phone, it is a lot easier for me just to have the voice navigation coming out from my phone speaker. Is there a way to change the settings back to prior to the 2.33 upgrade that only calls go through bluetooth and everything else stays the same? Thanks for all the help and advices!
I actually found the answer to my own question, here it is for people who may have the same problem with me.
To disable media from streaming through Bluetooth, simply go to the pairing menu, long press the Bluetooth that your media is streaming through, and a menu would pop up. In the menu, you can select to uncheck "Media - use for media audio"

[Q] Bluetooth disconnect/sleep on lock screen [PowerAmp] [SOLVED!!]

Hi,
I m using ROM AdyScorpiusMIUI-GB[2.3.7].
However I have a few issues and the main one I have not manage to solve is related to disconnection of my Bluetooth headsets when the lock screen is active or being idle for a minute. I dont whether its because of software (MIUI/kernel/baseband) issue or hardware malfunction issue.
I have tried to search for it but have not found any info. If I missed some thread then feel free to direct me to it.
Symptoms;
Headset disconnects when screen goes black.
Turning on the screen (so you see the lock screen) turns Bluetooth on.
Phone;
Galaxy S2
I have tried the following kernel versions;
Androdi : 2.3.7
Baseband : I9100XXKP8
Kernel : 2.6.35.14-Siyah-v2.6.12+
MIUI : 2.2.3
Bluetooth devices;
Nokia BH-503
I hope there is something that can solve this issue or that I just missed some setting since I really like MIUI,
Best regards,
Sauky
For those who has the same problem with me.
Here is the solution :
Problem occurred when im using PowerAmp with Bluetooth Headset in CM7 based Kernel or Custom ROM.
And the solution is :
- Do The "Clear Data" for PowerAmp Application
- Do The "Clear Cache" for PowerAmp Application
Menu (Setting->Program->Manage Applications)
Addes solution here :
Using an application like Wake Lock (hxxps://market.android.com/details?id=eu.thedarken.wl) and starting a service to wakelock the phone 'resolves' the problem on both Stable and Nightly roms.
From (hxxp://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=4794):
after some research it seems that poweramp doesn't explicitly start a partial wake lock when playing music.
Poweramp uses the AudioTrack class. reading through the api specs it doesn't seem that this class has a method to hold a partial wake lock (or even if it should do it automatically)
It appears that poweramp relies on drivers (possibly the audio driver) on the phone to hold a partial wake lock when music is playing. while that is true for lots of platforms (including samsung using the original firmare and many others) it doesn't seem to be true to whichever audio driver cyanogenmod is using.
I guess there would be two possible solutions, either this wakelock is implemented within cyanogenmod when music is playing or poweramp wakelocks when its playing music and releases when its done.
I seem to be having the same problem with my Bluetooth. But I have the problem when using a Bluetooth headset while making a phone call. The headset just disconnects about 5 min. into the call.
I'm running CM 7.1 and have power amp installed. Clearing the cache and data settings for power amp did not solve the problem. Inevitably about 5 to 6 min. into the call my Bluetooth just disconnects and I have to hurry and pick up the phone turn Bluetooth off and continue the conversation on the handset.
I really like the CM & MIUI ROMs, but this is a dealbreaker for me. I love power amp too much, and I need blue tooth. I guess I'll have to go back to one of the stock-based ROMs

I have no issue with a phone call so far.
Have u tried installed and running "Wake Lock" above from market? (hxxps://market.android.com/details?id=eu.thedarken.wl)

Marshmallow Notification (phone) settings

Hello,
I'm using the Xperia Concept marshmallow rom on my Z3 and I'm confused about the new notifications settings, especially those concerning phone calls.
To be clear, I use my phone as a music player in my car using an Aux cable. I need my phone to stop the music whenever I get a phone call so I can answer since I'm not looking at it while driving. Whenever I get a phone call it used to be in the new "peek" function and doesn't interrupt my music. However I changed this setting and also put the phone app notification settings as priority, now the incoming phone full screen is back but still doesn't interrupt the music.
Any ideas? I know it should be simple, am I missing something?

How to disable charging "ding!"?

I searched but couldn't find any advice, so apologize if it's been covered. When I go to bed and put my watch on my charging pedestal, I get this damned "Ding!" sound that most of the time wakes up and pisses off my wife. Does anyone have a way of disabling this without blanking out the audio file?
I remember this was done before previously on another device where the sound file was tracked down and you just had to overwrite the file with a silent audio file of the same name and format. Unfortunately if that requires rooting the device, I haven't done so yet and trying to avoid it ( i have no problems doing this on my phone as all my phones have always been rooted).
Any help is appreciated, thanks for reading.
As the charger seems to always not want to connect, I prefer to have the ding sound to indicate it connects. Before the marshmallow update, it would vibrate which was fine.
You can mute the ding sound by turning the media volume down in the settings on your watch.
You can download a watch face that allows Tasker (Or AutoWear) and then use Tasker to set a profile to mute the media volume during specified hours. No need to root the watch and you should be good to go.
Putting the watch into theatre mode will mute the ding, just double tap the crown button, plug it in, and if you want it lit up overnight just hit the button again ?
