MY brother just bought case for s5 active (which does not have QI charghing), its just case with micro usb port and integrated IQ charger. I cant find any for a5, any ideas?
Hi, there is not QI charger for A5 probably because this phone didn't have a removable battery like the S5

Nevermind, already found it. Its a workaround, its iq charger you plug in to your charger hole and leave the patch on back of your phone, under whatever cover u use

I was searching for USB Dock for Note and found THIS on eBay.
for only $6.78 + Free Shipping :laugh:
I saw many of THE SAME docks going for $19.99 - $24.99 on eBay and Amazon,So this is definitely a good Deal IMO.
One Another Good thing is Economy International Shipping is also cheap on this.
only $1.99 to INDIA in my case. So gifted one to my buddy!!!

No way to tell unless you order. But usual rule of thumb is no cases work with these docks. I wanna get one, but I'm currently using an extended battery, and just ordered an aluminum bumper...so definitely won't fit lol

I ordered one too.. I am going to check if the dock is actually charging my Note as "AC" instead of "USB".
I ordered a cheap dock and battery charger (brand is Hyperion --> here) and it charges my Note in "USB" mode. Not only it takes longer, but the Note have issue such that with USB charging, the Note will stop going to Deep Sleep (search XDA for this) when unplugged from USB charger and it loses the battery much faster. The only solution is to REBOOT the phone..which is very annoying at the very least.
MHL wont work
Well apparently, this dock is only good for charging / desk clock only.
you can not use MHL cable behind the dock and HDMI out.
It doses charges via MHL cable but dose not do HDMI out.
I know tht part sucks the most, but that is what it is.

Really? I have the same dock as you, but my dock doesn't charge my phone in USB mode.
I just found this out yesterday, but: if you have a spare battery and want to charge that and your phone, use the right port to charge both.

With this dock, it only gives up to 500mA. Samsung and HTC OEM charger give 1100mA.
Also, I tried the charger with both the International Note (shown as USB charging) and AT&T (shown as AC charge but gives 500mA).
However, for charging extra battery it is indeed useful.

Oh ok! That's really helpful info. Also, I thought you meant that there was an actual "mode" that the phone went into charge.
Do you know if the official Samsung dock charges gives 1100mA?
Have you tried using different cables and the samsung wall charger with the cradle? On a previous phone I had an Anker cradle. The wall charger that came with it did the same thing but when I connected my HTC charger to it all was fine.

I have. I even get a replacement dock from the seller and same result. The dock have 2 microUSB port: one for "sync" and the other for "charge" using the included power supplies. I tried connecting one and the other and then even connecting BOTH at the same time (to power supplies, to laptop, etc.)
FYI, the dock have TWO charging capacity: for phone and extra battery. The power supply that came with the dock is rated 1.5mA. I maybe wrong, but maybe the circuitry inside the dock prevent it from receiving more than 500mA to charge both the Note and the battery at the same time?
I don't have the Samsung OEM charger, so I don't know if this is common to all dock.

There is two ways to do this,
1 modify the unit to support qi by adding a receiver inside.
2 use a USB receiver or a USB dongle.

1. Are you planning on opening up the battery to do this? Sounds like a lot of work and possibly ruining the battery if you screw it up
2. If you use a USB receiver, aren't you then completely ignoring the point of having wireless charging? I don't think I understand #2 completely.

1 you can open the battery charger that come with the battery and put a qi receiver inside, the battery charger then can be placed on a home transmitter.
2 connect a USB qi receiver through the USB port on the battery charger.
If you actuall want just the battery with qi built in, it's only available for the S3, S4 and note 2, if it's not qi, but supports wireless charging, other batteries are available for older phones models.
the official wireless charger for the s6 edge , silly Question but it isn't posible to have the device face down and have it charge is it ? , seeing as they wanting people to have it face down so they can see the edge notifications.

I'm not sure with the Samsung charger but I got the free TYLT charger from ordering through Telus and just with an extremely thin Spigen case, the phone's being finnicky about charging. I highly doubt the phone can be on the glass screen and make it through the whole phone when just a small case on the back is stopping it from charging.
I'd love to hear from someone that has the Samsung charger though as I'll definitely pick it up if it can!

ok thanks , looks like i will have to decide to use my flygrip on my phone or want wireless charging , thinking i may use the flygrip instead as wireless charging only time i will really use it is by my bed at night , and its not hard to pluggin the cable.

First one does not have wireless charging at least I did not find it.
Second covers the display... Therefore useless for cars and navigation.
I'm using the universal charger from qi infinity! If you're interested write me a pm I might have an coupon code.
Be sure to get the one with fast charge in it's name.
The audio port is being blocked by the charger and you can't use thick protective cases, normal ones work fine!

Just trust the standards: Quickcharge 2.0 is working on all compatible devices, so does QI Fast Charge on all compatible devices (or at least on 99.99%).
