Think I've bricked my Z5C! - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I've had my Z5C for a couple of days. Thought I'd try Sony's flavour of Android and having decided I simply prefer AOSP, I unlocked the bootloader, and started flashing AOSP 5.1.1 (found on this forum over at Original Android Development).
I flashed boot and recovery, and half way through flashing system my dog came running through the living room and managed to unplug the cable from my laptop. Now the phone's LED is a solid blue and it won't do anything.
I've tried holding down the power button from 5 seconds to 5 minutes and nothing happens.
When I plug it back into the laptop, it pops up a message saying the usb device has malfunctioned.
Am I screwed? Any suggestions? Should I kill my dog?

Can you get the phone to fastboot or flash mode?
Hold POWER+VOL UP to get to fastboot mode (solid blue led), or POWER+VOL DOWN to get to flash mode (solid green led).

Nope, the LED just stays blue.

Nope the LED just stays blue.

Tried flashing stock ftf via flashtool?
Prepare the ftf on Flash tool.
With device off, hold volume down and plug the device in when flash tool prompts you.
Flashtool "should" detect your phone and flash stock firmware (note you will notice nothing happens on your device - the install is illustrated on the Flashtool interface, until prompted to remove the USB and power on the device.)
Otherwise this may or may not help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963961

Solid blue = fastboot mode.

If you can't restart or turn it off in anyway (that's what I gather is the problem?) you can try forcing it to restart by removing and re-inserting the sim card, that should trigger a hard reboot.

I ended up leaving the phone alone for a while, and now it's powering off. I've gone through the process of installing flashtool, preparing the firmware. And now I have a new problem. When trying to flash this is what it says:

I've followed instructions this to the best of my ability and not sure where I'm going wrong. I bought the phone unlocked in the UK so have selected United Kingdom - Customized UK (latest release 32.0.A.4.11 /R9B) in XperiFirm. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: I've got further than this now after clicking 'check drivers' in Flashtool but now I'm getting this error:

Hi,
I was running generic uk .55 firmware, I just rooted to backup TA, by mistake I press update to .402 OTA which gave me green android with red triangle.
So decided to flash .402 ftf file to clean but the phone has not switched on since.
This is my log from flashtool

Thank for your reply, however there is no sign of life, no led on or nothing.
Whn I plug the phone into the PC after about 10 seconds device manager show a USB device with the following error "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)"
I've tried pressing the red button, holding Power and volume up, plug it in and hold the volume down, but it won't recognise the device, it always shows unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed).

Have you tried a soft reboot (i.e. press and hold power button and volume up button for a few seconds and phone should vibrate 3 times before reboot)?
Yeah tried all the combinations.
Power + volume up for 10 seconds and more - no vibrate or screen on
Sim slot pressed red button while holding power button - no vibrate or screen on
Tried plug in in phone while holding volume down - nothing happens but phone pops up on device manager as a unrecognised device
Sounds like a soft brick to me. You might want to check out this thread for something that might help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
Just plugged it in to another charger and it is the first time I seen the led come on showed orange for a second then now it is of again, I wonder if the battery is flat.
Turn it off plug it in to computer as you do press down on the volume button. Which should put it on flash mode then use fladhtool to try and reflash

Thanks for the support.
I've left the phone connected to my PC using the rubber band trick, I now get red light after if I press the red button in the sim tray. This is on for a about a few minutes than switches of.
This gives me hope that it is only a soft brick.

Rubber band trick did not work, will send it to sony for repairs.
Just got my Z2 back from Sony Repair Centre, really unhappy with service, they replaced the mainboard and updated software.
Even though they replaced me with a 14W11 vs my one 14W14, the back is raised above a few MM on the camera corner, on top of that there is a smudge under the camera glass, ruining the pictures.
Has taken them 2 weeks to repair it, now I have to send it back to the same place for it to be repaired again, spent a lot on this phone for that i expected better service from Sony.
A smudge under the camera glass... Classic.

[Q] Trying to unbrick my phone via flashing. Help? [XPERIA X10]

So, I was given this phone from my dad cause he thought I might fix it..
I have this similar problems just as everyone in which the phone only vibrates once and flash a green led light, but not boot up.
Sooo I thought I could fix it by flashing the phone.. But I can't finish the flash because there is an error which says nothing..
Here's the Flasher log.

Thanks :good:

Can't flash Xperia SP C5306 in Bootloop

Hello all...
I'm trying to flash a corrupted, 'rooted' Xperia SP C5306 (build 12.0.A.1.284 (JB 4.1.2)) which is stuck in a boot-loop, and on which 'USB Debugging', is NOT 'enabled'.
CWM nor TWRP are installed either.
I have Flash-tool and the correct firmware, but as debugging is not active, flash aborts the procedure.
Any ideas???
Is a 'reset' possible?

If, it's not possible - is there a way to do a hard factory reset, to circumvent the boot-loop?
SOLVED!!!
Finally !!!
I was able to flash the system.sin, and user.sin, WITHOUT 'usb debugging', OR 'unknown sources' enabled.

You just have to catch it at the exact moment prior to the boot loop. I tried many times. (12 ?)
If boot begins - you have to power off, and try again.
'hard' power off.
Push power button/volume down.
Get green light.
Quickly insert USB into laptop.
Press 'flash' button.
