Contact customer Care for a new sim card. None in the LA market as of today. Got mine free they tried to charge 50 bones

They'll send them for free ive had em send me 2 being i "missplaced" one

Yeah I was hoping to find a store that had some but to no avail. Makes no sense. I called literally 7 different stores. But customer care took care of me and sent it free. So now I wait. Again...

For anyone who wants to order the sim card easily chat with Sprint International Support.
http://sprintworldwide.custhelp.com/app/chat/chat_launch
I let them know I was with Sprint in the U.S. and it took 5 minutes to have a free sim card mailed to me. Received it just a few days after the chat.
. . . now I just need the phone

I chatted with the Sprint reps one day and they said they were having a problem with their system. They couldn't order my sim card. They said they would order that night and send me a confirmation e-mail. I followed up the next day having no e-mail and the new chat rep completed the order. I ended up with 2 Sprint sim cards a few days later. If you get two sim cards, like you mentioned, are they interchangeable? Both of mine look to have the same identification information, according to the invoice. Curious why it might be a good idea to keep the extra one.

I just chopped up my regular sim to nano size but sprint wouldnt or couldnt activate the phone even though my nexus recognized it.

I am unsure if this is in the wrong thread or not..
I have been a sprint user for the last 8 years and wonder if anyone knows whether or not Google-Fi actually connects well and quick to Sprint towers. I have amazing service with them where I live., or does Google-Fi take a back burner to the towers behind paying Sprint customers.
Thanks

If the network is congested, you can bet the Fi network is taking a backseat. When its not, it wont.

Fi does not take a back seat ever. It is exspensive for a reason.
On fi if I roamed onto Verizon via sprint roaming I got 3g data, or LTE. On sprint with 40gyg data plan if I roam I get 2g data.
If sprint is slow on fi, or if it did somehow backseat which I'm fairly certain it doesn't, if there's a better signal from tmobile or att(roaming from tmobile) or WiFi it will simply switch to the faster network.... So it really should not be an issue.
Project fi 1 month I used 8 gyg 100$ just my 1 phone ......
Sprint 40 gyg family plan, 120$ 4 lines...
I love the idea of project fi but I used to much data and is not affordable for me.
On another note, anyone know if nexus 6p will be in sprints stupid white list or if I'll have to wait another dang week just to be able to activate it like n6 was? Via I clickitticket bs

Would also like this answered as well. Went through a huge ordeal to get a sim card through Sprint. They absolutely need a IMEI number since I don't have an account (been eyeing their unlimited data plan).
Anyway I ended up using my Moto X 2014 Pure as my device since it uses nano sim as well. First tried to order new service and get a sim online. The website referred me to place my order over the phone. Over the phone sales referred me to the store. The store referred me back to phone support. Finally customer support broke down and over nighted me a nano sim without an account at all. I'll have to go into a store once recieved to activate service. I'm just hoping that after providing the IMEI for the Moto X I'm not going to be stuck running through hoops once the 6P arrives.

took a few tries but finally got an international online rep to send me a sim. 3-5days for free shipping or $12 for overnight. don't have the phone yet anyways and doesn't seem like they're shipping the 128gb ones yet so free was fine for me
edit: first couple tries the rep kept telling me I had to call the international contact # to order the SIM. I was too lazy to call though at the time lol.

FYI, only order your SIM through Sprint Worldwide. I attempted the regular Sprint site and they were very unhelpful and wanted to charge me 35.00 per SIM (need one for my wife too). Contacted Sprint Worldwide and explained I just ordered a 6P and 5X and needed 2 nano SIMs and they replied asking if I wanted free shipping or $12 over night, no charge for the SIMs and no hassle at all =)
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

After all the run around they did end up overnighting me my sim no charge for shipping or the sim even though I offered to pay. Surprising as I don't even have a line of service yet.

Yeah I finally found a local store that had a boat load here in westwood. I grabbed 2 as my order from sprint won't arrive until tomorrow and I was just tired of waiting

I ordered mine through chat today, not the worldwide one. The person I was chatting with knew exactly what I was talking about, got it ordered and offered me faster shipping for free. Just got an email a while ago from ups and sprint saying it's coming tomorrow. That was quick.

Have any of you activated the phone yet? Once you get a sim card, how do you activate the phone? Do you have to take the sim and phone to the nearest Sprint store for them to do it or can you do it through their website?

[Q] Cannot Activate - AT&T systems down

Anybody else with this issue?
Thanks.

AT&T is doing a systems upgrade tonight... they are updating software for tomorrow on all the point of sale systems, thus most likely the reason why they were unable to help you. Plus never call at night after 9PM or on weekends unless you have to because everything is outsourced.

Annoying that they are doing a system wide upgrade the day they are releasing a new phone...

Tried that, but it does not work.
After confirming the number, it says:
"please hold, we are processing your information" about 20 times, then states that it cannot continue (experiencing technical difficulties) and then transfers me to a pre-recorded message advising to call back next business day...
Same thing happened to me today. I talked to a representative and he told me that they subscribed me to Att navigator service when i pre ordered the phone and it is not compatible with Note. He unsubscribed me from that service and he could be able activate my phone after that.

I am told that this will also affect customers that purchased their phone at Best Buy...
CS told me that the issue should be resolved by 3pm CST today...
We will see.
Not happy at all right now.
A phone rep just told me that the B&M stores should be able to activate the Note when they open today.
I am not sure that he knew what he was talking about however.
Anybody from AT&T able to confirm this?
I am getting really annoyed with this situation...
Thanks.
I just had to leave BestBuy because they were unable to activate my phone. They called AT&T and all systems are down due to an upgrade and to call back tomorrow. I had preordered, they are holding everything for me until later. This is ridiculous! AT&T refuses to sell you the phone until Feb 19th, and then they plan a system upgrade so you can't activate it?!?!?
ok same here

had to leave and go to work
wont even get off until the time they close

Here at Best Buy Mobile, upgrades going through fine, was given a 2 hour ETA for new activations at around 1130 EST....
Why would AT&T shut down "For maintenance" on the day (weekend) of a major release? Just saying!

ATT still down -_-
Just called 611 from the mobile and it seems that all systems are now up.
The rep was able to get the activation process completed.
Note is now alive and well.
I also got a $25 credit towards my bill for the inconvenience.
Cheers.

I went to BB twice today. They cannot upgrade. Sucks. It's not BB's fault, why would AT&T do maintenance the day before the US launch of a phone that had a Superbowl commercial?
AT&T is retarded. I wish Verizon had the phone, I'd sign up right now and get more data with their double data. I actually might just go with a Skyrocket on Verizon if my wife wasn't so set on the Note.

Watchung NJ there were 3 people getting it when i arrived and according to the sales rep they had around 20 Note's. By the way this phone is rocks....!
I was at best buy when they opened at 11, I was only one there. While they were activating my note 4 other people came and they were all pre order pick ups. And yes this phone does rock
Called my normal store at about 12:30 after they had been open for 30 minutes. They had not had one request for the phone. I was a bit surprised. I asked him to put a black one (I know it is carbon blue) away for me. I went by at 1 pm and they still had not had any requests for the phones except me. I bought it no commitment. Will try it out for 30 days to see how it compares to my International Version and if LTE makes this worth keeping.
Slow day for the GNote in Plano.
I went around 1pm and I was the 2nd person to buy one. I bought it off contract due to my usps delivery issue and will return this one and get my refund when I get the usps one
Noone is interested in this phone? Or poor marketing?
Just picked mine up today and my AT&T store had plenty in stock. Also left Sprint today and and floored by how badly AT&Ts 3.5G speeds destroy the Sprint 4G I had. Bring on LTE. Sure I am paying about $10 more a month but it is worth it to finally have speeds I can use. My previous phone was an Epic 4G Touch so the Note is pretty much just a larger version for me.

OH yea, and on Friday once I knew my order wasnt coming and I went to the store, the manager almost convinced me to wait until I recieve it whenever that was. So today I just added the off contract note to one of my other lines and changed nothing to the other line and all I did was throw my sims in it. This was the actual advice from customer service last night. They would waive or credit me any restocking fee once I return the full price off contract note. On top of that I got $50 free in note accessories and $150 credit to my account......and I'm not done yet. By the time I get my preorder delayed note I'll be calling back customer service for more credit for pain and suffering lol. In the end this pre-ordered phone wont have cost me much huh
Great device btw, I'm still trying to take it all in

[Q] T-Mobile Advice

I have a HTC One in my hand 1 day after finally getting an order thru (5 calls after the original web order). Shipping speed was astoundingly good.
Here's my situation: I am switching from Sprint to TMO and have 2 months left on Sprint contract. I have not yet activated my TMO SIM. The plan I chose was the non-contract, Simple Choice.
I have an offer from HTC to trade in my Sprint phone for $100 rebate, and an offer from TMO for a $50 rebate (the $100 is dated which is why I hurried and am dealing with potential overlap).
Will I be charged monthly by TMO for service if I haven't yet activated the SIM? Does the charge start the day I activate the SIM? What are the downsides to waiting a month or 2 on this?
I think that with people switching to TMO in droves with these new phones out, this question will come up.
My understanding, service does not start until SIM is active.
Thanks, that makes sense. The sim card itself says "must activate by 2015"
How much did you pay for the phone? If you paid 580 you will get charged b/c your on a post paid service. If you paid 650 you are most likely prepaid and will have to pay your service when you activate the sim.
The date on the sim means nothing to consumers it is internal use.
Hope that helps

I switched to tmo postpaid a few months ago and they billed me for the few days my SIM card was in the mail. You could call them from your Sprint line to be sure but I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that tmo is already charging you for service.

The actual sim card is irrelevant, he could change 6 different sim cards a day on the same phone number/account and it would not affect the date of when the service was activated. His account was activated when the financing was started on a post paid service. He is currently being charge for service regardless of whether it is in use, it is accessible to him.

This is what I was looking for. If you did this online or through telesales, you might qualify for a $50 rebate, it would help on that ETF. It looks like you have to port which is why i said don't cancel your sprint yet, port it to the new TMO service. I didn't read the fine print, just wanted to point you in the right direction. Amazon Question. Noob alert

For anyone who has ever bought from Amazon, I just bought a Samsung S4 at full retail from Amazon. When it comes do I have to go to Verizon to have it activated?
Yes, I asked this question at amazon's forums but they were less than helpful and couldn't give a concrete answer.

I think you should be able to swap sims and then activate using *228 could be wrong tho because ive never purchased that way.
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.
I'll try that when it comes...I've got a iPhone 5 currently. I'll just pop this one out and follow what you said.
4G LTE phone's don't activate using *228. Did Amazon also ship you a 4G SIM with your phone? If not you'll have to request one from Verizon. You can get a SIM when you activate your new phone's IMEI on on Verizon's website, where it will ask you if you have a SIM already (the iPhone 5 one doesn't fit) or to send you a new one. If they did send you a new SIM, you just go to Verizon's site and click Activate or Switch Device where you enter your new phone's IMEI and then the SIM card's ICCID and you're done. Of course if you don't have a SIM it's faster to go to Verizon and have them give you one.
Just pop your sim card in, don't press *228 it puts u on a 3g prl....

I ordered my S4 from Amazon a few months ago. They sent a sim with it, I put it in, went to the website and activated it and within a few seconds I was good to go. The instructions on what to do will be on the sim card package they ship to you with the phone. Just keep in mind that because you bought from Amazon they have their own separate termination fee, so if you break contract within I think 6 months you will get hit with a fee from Amazon.
edit: nevermind, just saw you said full retail, the fee probably doesn't apply to you

Surprised when ordering a nano-SIM card from Verizon for a new 6P.

Today, I called Verizon to request a sim card for a Nexus 6P that I just ordered.
I was expecting problems; however, after I provided the IMEI number that was on the Google order confirmation (It is actually the "Device ID number minus the final zero.), which the phone rep looked up, and saw that it was a Nexus; he then said I could pickup a sim card at any retail Verizon store for free, but that if they sent me one by mail, there would be a $6.99 fee for shipping and handling. I replied that I would prefer to pay the S/H fee rather than wait in line for more than 1 hr at a store. He then said that not only would they send the sim card, but that they would increase my data allowance an additional 12GB/month, making the total 30GB/month for an entire year, completely free of charge, and with no catches. Of course, I was very pleased, and quite surprised to say the least.
Knowing Big Red, I really wonder if there are truly "no catches".

You have a phone that can be used on any carrier. Verizon has to treat you like a human once they don't have you on a leash. You can move to any carrier at any moment.

18GB/mo how much are you paying for that? Is this on Verizon's "new" plan? Agreed with the other comment, they need to play a little bit nicer now to keep their customers.
Guess they don't have much of a choice since T-Mobile just announced yesterday that they're doubling everyone's data for free.
I did this online and got a new nano-sim sent to me for free, no S/H fees.
I walked into a Verizon store and said I needed a nano sim for my new phone. After waiting a bit, the guy entered my IMEI into the computer and grabbed a new sim, and then I was on my way. Probably the least painful experience I've ever had at a Verizon store.

Any advantage to them entering your IMEI into their system? I just took my SIM card out of my other phone.

I'm using 1 that I cut down from micro sim to nano sim, out of my Note 2. Because back then it was such a hassle dealing with Verizon. They would refuse to help you at the store, if you had a Nexus. After an hour on the phone with tech support you could get 1. Or you could just cut 1 down to size. It's a tight fit & I've always wanted an official nano sim. But if I had a real nano sim I would just put in.

Pretty much sounds like my experience getting the sim card. Didn't have to provide a IMEI though and the rep waived the shipping fee. Wasn't offered any plan changes but the other companies hadn't just changed their plans either. Activation also ended up being very easy as well FYI.
I called him up two weeks ago and ordered one on the phone without an issue. I didn't have the phone yet so I didn't even have those numbers. Not a single problem. They even overnighted it to me and didn't charge me a thing. When my phone showed up I put the card in and it didn't automatically activate so I called them up and they had me shut down my old phone and this one read them the IMEI and then start this one back up and it worked perfectly fine. I'd say between the two phone calls I spent maybe 15 minutes on the phone, only 5 to activate it and 10 to order it.
Just switched my 6p order from Huawei to Google last night as I didn't want to wait another month and I'll be receiving it tomorrow (that's crazy fast). I was going to get the nano sim ahead of time since I had so much of it, but now I think I'll just go tomorrow to my local verizon corporate store as it's less than 5 minutes from the house and I'll let them install the nano sim and activate it after I receive the phone.
I know others have done this with great success and I expect the same. Glad you had a good experience.

Sorry to drag this up from last month, but I'm curious to know how the phone shows up when you're looking at the account on the My Verizon website. Is the IMEI truly in their database, or does it show up as a generic Non-VZW Device? It was months before they added the IMEIs from the non-VZW Nexus 6 purchased from Google/Motorola to their database. The IMEI must be in their database for you to get the month to month (off contract) discount, which is $25/mo if you've got a 6GB plan or more.
It sounds like from the comments here that they've improved their internal processes and can actually manually add the IMEI over the phone, which would be great news.
My device (and my husband's) both show up as HUAWEI-H1511 under My Devices on Verizon. I didn't even need to contact them. Just switched the SIM card from my old Droid Maxx and it updated the model on their site immediately.

Same here. Came from a Note 3 which used a micro sim. Got a nano sim cutter, cut the sim, and popped it into the 6p. Up and running in less than 5 minutes. Couldn't be simpler
