Chromecast 2015 update broke Cec - Google Chromecast 2015

I have a Samsung and the cec(Anynet) is broken on the latest chromecast. My ver 1 chromecast works perfect.
This is annoying because all I had to do with version 1 was cast anything and the tv will automatically switch to the chromecast hdmi input. Now i have to manually switch input with tv remote

Same problem here (Philips Smart Tv)
Chromecast v1 switches imput automaticly, but the Chromecast 2015 does not, and its very annoying.
Is there a way to fix this? Or do I have to hope for an update in the future that fixes this?

what 's problem here???

If you are looking for wireless mirroring then you will need one of these.
AllShare Cast Wireless Hub
Otherwise, you can use a MHL adapter for wired mirroring.
MHL Adpater

Theoretically then it should work unless there is some incompatibility. Don't have personal experience of the same, so I suppose you will have to wait for a response from someone who has tried out screen mirroring using the S3.
Same problem here
Hi, maybe it's too late for an useful answer, but... the "Screen Mirroring" works on Sony TVs, and without the all-share cast dongle!
I have a Sony W6 (2013), connected via WiFi.
With stock rom 4.3 just connect the S3 to the same network, turn on screen mirroring on the phone and the Screen Mirroring should star automatically!
But screen mirroring doesn't work with a modded rom, in that case will appear the message "unable to start screen mirroring because of a hardware issue". Maybe the flash counter must be "0"... I don't know if there's a way to use this functionality with a modded rom.

Nexus player works with Toshiba TV IR remote!

I have my Nexus Player connected to a Toshiba 39” TV model 39L1350UC.
Last night I noticed that I was able to navigate the NP's screen using the TV IR remote. I was able to replicate all the NP's remote buttons except for the ‘Home’ button.
I have nothing plugged in the microUSB port in the back by the way.
I even managed to control the NP using my Harmony H659 (which is IR based).
I believe that the Nexus remote uses a Bluetooth connection. Am I missing something here?
Your TV is probably sending the commands through the HDMI port.

It has limited cec function. My TV remote works with my fire tv but functionality is low. I'm able to do some navigation but don't think I was able to select. Eventually I hope all set top boxes catch up with cec. Kodi on my rpi works out of the box with all my TVs.

HDMI-CEC, that must be it. I get all the buttons working except for the voice and home ones.
I actually prefer to use the Harmony in Kodi as the loud clicks of the NP's remote just drive me nuts.

Can I turn my old LG G5 (H840) into an android tv?

So I got a USB-C to HDMI + USB-A and I've downloaded a TV like launcher, it's working great with a Bluetooth mouse and I've also ordered a Bluetooth air mouse from AliExpress (Q5 Bluetooth air mouse).
But I'm afraid it's not enough, I want to connect from my iPhone (or any other phone for that matter) to my G5 tv box and watch youtube videos on it by tapping the cast button. I want to activate and browse through Netflix on my phone than watch on the TV. The phone has the power, and it is Android compatible, all I ask for is the full experience.
So Is there a way to flash Android TV to the G5? If not, is there a way to enable these features in other ways?
I I'm planning to do the same thing as well. But I think someone gonna have to build a custom rom that will allow those features

Connecting to TV without Internet

Hi everybody.
Does anybody know if it is possible to connect a v10 to a TV for screen mirroring without an Internet connection? I don't mind using cables but as far as I am aware the USB C port on this phone doesn't support USB c to hmdi.
I have a chromecast (one of the first gen ones) but I don't think it will work without Internet?
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Screen mirroring works without internet so your chromecast should work without problems. It can mirror your phone display.

Someone figure out how to connect my A21 to my TV!

Just so this doesn't come up in the answer - I don't have wi-fi or a smart TV, just my mobile data and a not-so-smart HDMI TV. I used to use my Galaxy J7 to connect to a Screen Beam Mini 2 via Smart View on my J7. I just got a Galaxy A21 and it turns out Samsung stopped making Smart View as of a month ago (Oct. 2020). I have tried EVERY possible way to get some version of SV on this phone with zero success. I can't connect it via USB C to HDMI either so that's out. If ANYONE can find a way for me to continue using the Screen Beam or another way to mirror to my TV I'd be VERY grateful!!!!

Hi @savver86, This might be too late but I have an A21s android 11 and smart view is available on the notification as a button. It might be the same for you on A21. And I don't think Samsung stopped Smart view. I received 2 major updates and smart view is not removed.
