Does Debloater work on the lg v10? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wondering, I hope so.

I tried with no luck. Posted a question about it in the Debloater thread.

Worked fine for me.

Really? What version and what OS? I tried it on both OSx and Win7. Device shows in device manager and also connects in LG bridge so drivers are working. Also put the phone in USB debug with MTP protocol. Tried PTP as well. You have a link to where you downloaded it or to the LG United Mobile Drivers?

What is "debloater" ?

It's to uninstall unwanted apps that come with the phone.

Well I understand that, but he makes it sound like its an app or a software, so I assumed that is the name OF the software/app lol
You can disable about 30 apps on the phone right now actually without any fancy tricks.

Problem is you cannot disable some of the carrier specific bloatware.

And yes it works..make sure you have usb debugging turned on in Developer settings, authorize your connection and it works fine.

[Q] Are there any Android apps similar to Motocast?

I have Motocast on my Motorola Droid 4 which lets me view/access any file on my computer as long as both my phone and laptop are connected to the internet and I have the Motocast software running on my computer.
Are there any similar apps that work on non-Motorola Android devices?
Thanks

Yeah it's one of the few good apps I've seen that isn't plagued by a ton of people wrongly giving it one stars because they didn't bother to read what it does or how it works.

I use ES File Explorer which can access shared folders via LAN. No software is needed on the host computer other than setting up the shared folder(s).
How do you reach the PC if it's nat'd behind the router?

From your cell phone, how do you reach your PC to access the shared directory, if the PC is behind a nat'd router?

I'm pretty sure you have to go into settings and network options. You may have to change your router settings to allow access as well.

[Q] Can't disable USB debugging

I have a couple of issues, but I believe they are related.
First I can't get usb debugging to stay off.
If I turn it off and reboot it turns back on when I plug the phone into a computer or after a few minutes. Also disabling it and turning developer options off gives me a message box telling me that usb debugging is for development then I can see the usb debugging checkbox is selected even though the developer options are turned off.
This is a problem because I cannot get the phone to show up as MTP/mass storage on my PC. If I connect it to my PC (with the included usb cable) everything installs fine with the exception of the MTP driver which fails every time. The same phone works fine on my laptop. I have HTC Sync installed and that does not seem to help. Sometimes Sync recognizes the music on the phone, but regardless the device does not show up in My Computer except for the sync and verizon installers which show as CD drives.
Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.
That's funny...we posted the same issue almost at the same time. If you figure it out, let me know...lol

Did you notice if you have a yellow exclamation on HTC MTP Device in the device manager?

All I see in device manager is an entry under Portable Devices->MTP
It doesn't mention anything about the manufacturer etc.
Everytime I plug the phone in it attempts to install the MTP driver and fails each time.
In fact it seems to attempt to reinstall all the drivers each time I plug the phone in to the machine.
Are you running Windows? If so...which version?

download it outside? What does that mean? Also I have already updated to .net framework 4.5
Search in Google for MTP drivers for your device.. Install it and try.. Hope this helps.. Or check for MTP driver in device manager.
Thank me if you find my post as useful

Wow now my machine isn't recognizing my Motorola Atrix 4G which is still on Gingerbread and just has an SD card in it. It recognizes the internal storage on the phone, but won't open folder/files, and won't even show the sd card at all.
Starting to think I may have to re-install windows.
You need to reinstall HTC drivers. And remove all other you may installed earlier.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers but nothing worked. So I reinstalled Windows 8, then I installed the HTC Drivers found here on xda before plugging in the phone to PC and it works great now. I think installing HTC Sync messed it up somehow. Not using it anymore! lol

It might be an issue with the computer. Have you tried connecting your phone to another computer using the same cable? You might want to try reloading all the windows drivers on your computer as well, or try using a different usb port on your computer.
Yea works fine on my laptop. Uninstalled and re installed kies and drivera. Different usb port alao. Not sure. Had to restore windows

Check the devise manager...it should show you the problem...you just have to remove the incorrect devise from the list

An alternative option is if you are using system restore or have a recent backup, that may bring the system back to a time when everything worked, as well.

[Q] Get Apps to Display in Tablet Mode

How can I get the Spotify app to run in tablet mode on my HTC One? I'm trying to use Xposed App Settings to do it, but the app still recognizes my device as a phone. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you manage?
I think it would be prudent to have a specific subject related to Spotify for this. I feel that many apps use DPI as the indicator for tablet mode (ex. Gmail) so I'm not sure what Spotify is doing but I am also curious. I will check on my TF201 and report in.

My guess is that it looks at the build.prop, don't really want to mess with it, because I probably don't know what I'm doing.

Doubt it.
Yeah, I am also curious about this, I guess spotify somehow reads build.props. someone must be able to crack this.
If someone discover how to do it, please share.

I tried to remove permissions READ_PHONE_STATE and it doesn't load....
Also tried device spoofer app, doesn't work.
Must alter device ID ... How?

There aren't unless they are using the same version number for two different apks which is very unlikely.

I tried adding tablet to the ro.build.characteristics line but that didn't work.
The apps are the same except for the shuffle mode.

I have been messing with DPI settings using App Settings and denying access to Phone State using XPrivacy and no luck.
I decompiled the apk and did a string search for tablet but didn't come up with anything promising.

I have another thread about this in HTC One forum..
This was one person's recommendation:

Try xposed app settings, it should allow you to change the dpi for the app itself, similar to pa per app settings, without messing with the actual dpi of the phone

There isn't because neither my phone and tablet got an update on the market when the new features were released.. it was all aready coded in- and i think its just reading the hardware config and enabling features remotely.

Confirmed, just tried this before searching the forums (and ending up here haha),
I bricked my phone a little today editing build.prop. had to reflash. Lol.
I jst tried to change ro.product.model and ro.product.id, didnt work.
I'm using Paranoid Android on my Nexus4. I tried to us PA's Hybrid Settings to set the per app DPI for the Spotify app too 600p, which will force many apps to switch into the tablet layout. However, I did not have any luck getting Spotify to change into tablet mode. I also enabled the Force and Large toggles, which is necessary to force tablet mode for some apps, but didn't have any success with that either.
My best guess then is that Spotify determines what kind of device you have from the android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE, wich provides the device ID.
I have no clue about how these things work, but if the Spotify app is installed on a tablet, the read phone state permission, what happens with it?
LOL. goddaMNit, this thing is really annoying, and also, i have very nice playlists on Spotify so I don't mind the shuffeling But still, i'm kinda obsessing abot this thing.
Can somebody try performing a Titanium Backup of the app on their tablet and then installing it on their phone, data and all? I have a Nexus 7 but it's not rooted and I don't plan on rooting it any time soon.
