I need a good lolipop rom for my Galaxy s2 gt-i9100 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, can someone help me with a good lolipop rom for my Samsung Galaxy s2 gt-i9100
I need a lolipop rom with good battery life because i tried a lot of roms wich had horrible battery life or just something to improve the battery life.
Thank you

I hope no one will rape me, as I'm answering your not allowed question, but you'd try resurrection remix with pre-installed dark theme. Guess more battery life can't be expected on other lollipop roms. Lollipop in general needs more battery than the other Android versions in my opinion.
You can find the rom by searching for "galaxys2root".
In the section Galaxy s2 roms the latest for gt-i9100 will be rr.
Good luck

All lollipop ROMs have the same battery problem. You can flash all of them if you want, but all will give the same results. Go with kitkat if you want better battery life, personally Slimsaber 4.4.4 is my favourite. Or even better, Stock 4.1.2 is a good option in terms of battery life. I can not answer your question directly due to rules found on XDA.

RESURRECTION REMIX : Good for various settings but not too stable. I faced random reboots sometimes.
DIRTY-UNICORNS : I have system space issue with this rom. I am using custom pit for increasing system partition, but while flashing this rom; it repartitiates again to stock 5xx mb system partition. I donot know why
SlimLP : Good enough for daily use but have some bugs.
CyanogenMod 12.1 By Lysergic Acid : He is very good developer. Nice rom, it fits best of all above roms for daily use.
You can find all these roms here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives

It's in the development thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/samsung-international-moderation-team-t2149990

'Best' and 'Good' are closely related, so therefore it applies (don't want to sound like some kind of moderator here). But since OP is new member, we can let off with a friendly reminder.

Which is the best rom and kernel for the balnce between good performance and battery.
Should I reflash with the same rom and different settings????
Hello iaakash,
Welcome to XDA!
We don't allow these types of thread because there is no clear answer to your question. The only solution is to read our Development sections and try ROMs/kernels until you find a combination that works best for you.

[Q] Best kernel for GlamourS5

Hello there,
I'm new with android customization, and I'd like to know, it would be the best kernel with rom GlamourS5:
And if GlamourS5 rom is the best rom for my S3 closely as possible to S5.
I need a good battery and performance
Thank you.
In short the best kernel is the one supplied with the ROM, this is probably the only kernel optimised for your ROM. If you require additional kernel features pick a kernel as required.
As for best ROM I'm afraid the only person who can answer that is you, and the only way to determine the best ROM for you is trying them out.

Try archikernel 1.3. For me it is the best..no FC and no random reboot
Best kernel threads not allowed at xda..
Press thanx if i helped you in anyway...

wich ROM?

hello,
i searching for a stable Rom for a friend for the galaxy ace.... he is a absoute noob and his phone is very slow.... wich Rom should i use?
thanks for the answers!
@made-in-tirol, Ace GT-S5830i/C/M/39i known as Cooperve device, comes with the official version 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) which, can be rooted and be optimized into perfection without any serious custom mod installation for person who has no need of tinkering with his/her device constantly. ( flashing some custom kernel is needed to maintain full performance and battery optimization, if you have problems).
FYI there is no Rom, which labeled as "most stable". However from my experience I encountered fewer bugs; regular flow of updates when I used Touchwiz Resurrected V2. On the contrary though some people prefer CM7 ROMs over any other non cyanogen mod any day

Need help with LP ROM

Hello friends. Currently I an on aicp ROM and its by far the most stable ROM with a good battery backup I ever tried.
Want to flash some new ROM so want suggestion from some members which have already tried most of the ROMs available. I want to flash a LP ROM which is feature rich and provide a good battery backup.
Also please tell which ROM has best battery backup in any combination with custom kernel.
Additionally, it would be really helpful, if someone could tell me a kitkat ROM name also with better battery backup.
Thanks in advance.
BTW, if this topic is not good to be discussed here, then please PM me your replies.
Thanks again.[emoji4] [emoji4]
Validus Rom is the Kitkat Rom with great battery backup

Hey! My device runs on CM 12.1 in combination with FenomenalMOD kernel. Even though the ROM is released in nightly version, there are no major bugs to worry about. In 1 month of usage, I haven't experienced any lag or battery drain.

[Q] What ROM is the most STABLE and FAST and BEST BATTERY LIFE for the S2 i9100 ?

Before everyone tells me that this has been covered in previous threads, i read them all and there is nothing worth writing home about within these 'other threads'.
There is not a decent place online where an S2 user can go to find out the BEST choice for his phone. (most people just say: "kk1 worked for me" etc... (which doesnt really tell us much!)
Surely there are tonnes of people with Galaxy S2 i9100 phones with Custom Roms, kernals and Gapps!
from my experience: the S2 phone not good enough to run Lolipop at a fast speed... (its SLOW as hell, and Bad Battery Life).
Kit Kat is also a bit laggy on the S2... (or has someone found a good MOD and kernal of it ?
really, it seems that the S2 performs BEST with Ice-Cream-Sandwich or Jelly-Bean.
or has anyone found a REALLY good KitKat Rom for the S2 which has a Good Battery Life and FAST SPEED ??
also,, please mention what kernal and Gapps package you have and what Launcher you are using
Use Slimsaber 4.4.4 by fusionjack (modified by thunder45) and dorimanx kernel.

In terms of battery life, Slimsaber 4.4.4 is the only rom that could compete with stock 4.1.2 battery life (stock 4.1.2 is still superior to all other ROMs). All 4.4.4 ROMs use more battery than stock 4.1.2, but the upside is that you get less bloatware and more performance. Cyanogenmod may be the most well known for its popularity in the android world, but it is also known for battery problems and other problems too. In terms of performance, Slimsaber 4.4.4 is a lightweight ROM that has more useful features compared to Cyangenmod. Of course user preference differs between everyone, but I've found that slimsaber has all of the neat features I've needed in one package. Where you get most benefits from is by pairing up the ROM with a custom kernel such as DorimanX kernel. The built-in kernel will do the job for most people, but what most people miss out on is all of the performance and battery optimizations and tweaks you get from installing a custom kernel. Yes, there are more things to tweaks when using a custom kernel, but after you get used to it and have played around with it a bit, the effort and time spent is really well worth it and I assure you your phone will feel better than you first got it.
Of course, this is all of my personal thoughts, and I'm a long term user of slimsaber 4.4.4 and dorimanx kernel. Just incase you didn't know, I don't hate cyanogenmod, they are pretty much the pioneers of the custom rom industry, but lately they haven't been up to scratch.

thanks for your info about the slimsaber rom.
I wanted to ask you something about your comment:
is slimsaber the same as slimkat? its the same thing?
and,, also: if I flash the dorimanx kernel and then flash the slimsaber 444 rom, will the slimsaber rom add its own slimsaber kernel and delete the dorimanx kernal ?
- or, is it the other way around? am I supposed to flash the slimsaber rom, and then flash the dorimanx kernal to replace the slimsaber kernel ?
PS:
I will be downgrading from a Lollipop 5.1 Rom.
its too slow on my phone and i'm getting awful batterylife and quite buggy.
i was umming and ahhing whether to downgrade to an unbloated jellybean ROM, or a kitkat one.
maybe I will give your set-up a try (seeing you are giving it a good testimonial).
did you use a minimal Gapps package? or the full thing?

Slimsaber and slimkat are different roms. Slimsaber is a modified version of slimkat by fusionjack.
Yes, when you flash slimsaber, it will replace dorimanx kernel with slimsaber kernel. This means you will have to flash dorimanx kernel again.
It's up to you. I make my own personal dorimanx builds, but I don't optimize them for battery life, I care more about performance and smoothness.

i did a few searches on xda for slimsaber 4.4.4 and saw a number of instances where people are having WhatsApp camera issues and also Skype issues.
do you also get this problem?
or is that now fixed? (coz I use both of those apps quite often).
is this the correct page I should use to download the ROM :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59918959&postcount=17347
(but I see no mention of Thunder45's modification on that page).
if the above issues are still present, do you think i will be better off with the SlimKat version? or something else?
Thanks
Marc

You're better off with slimkat if you use those applications. Skype and whatsapp issues are still present in slimsaber.

thanks again GsStudios
would it be a good idea for me to use your suggested Dorimanx Kernal with SlimKat 4.4 ?
and finally: if you have ever used it, how would you rate the CM11 (standard version), with SlimKat ?
(i'm trying to narrow my choice down).
again, thanks
