Unfortunately, ... stopped. - Redmi Note 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed every ROM I found, the phone still crashes after few hours, after that, I get "System Launcher Stopped", "Google apps stpped" error messages. Whipe cache doesn't fix it. the only temporary fix I found is to wipe everything and install MIUI again. After that, i can use the phone for aprox. 2 hours. Then, the errors appear again.
Do I have a hardware problem ?

of course.
The errors appear after the phone wakes up, after the screen is turned off.

I tried. It doesn't work. Also, I think it's about the battery, because the problem doesn't appear when the phone it's plugged.

Good to know, I hope this isn't a typical problem. You can try replacing the battery and see if that helps. I don't know about Xiaomi in specific, but there was a somewhat similar bug in the iPhone 3GS way back that was caused by a faulty battery. The effected phones would crash, restart, and not show the network if I remember correctly. Luckily the Xiaomi has an easily replaceable battery. iPhone required disassembly, and used several different batteries for the 3gs that were not mutually compatible with all 3gs because Apple switched chip suppliers for certain iPhones. Also, the correct battery could only be differentiated by serial number.

Random reboots VZW S4

Any know or have an issue with their VZW S4 rebooting on completely stock rom? I have a friend and her sister both have S4's and both will reboot up to 5 times a day. It appears to be high CPU usage apps, but I am not completely sure. It happens looking in Gmail, Chrome, Message, etc. She has already replaced it once in the store.

Is the phone getting hot? It may be rebooting since it's overheating.
What you need to do is to understand why those applications are eating CPU. Perhaps clearing data on them will help.

It is not getting hot at all. If you open Chrome, click any website, and while it loads -- phone reboots. If you then wait for it to boot up, open the Gmail app -- it's possible just scrolling through email for it to freeze. It's strange really. Hell, at one point, she walked out side to send a text and it just reset. It also reset on me after I pulled the USB cable out.
This is her second phone with this issue. The first one stop charging for some reason. Her sister had the exact same issue. Is there any known apps that run in the background that may cause it?
I haven't seen anything on random reboots for the S4 so it's strange.

Redmi Note 4 Random Shutdown

Hello,
i had bought a Redmi Note 4 and had received today, but when i try to use i had looked a problem because cellphone is randomly shutdown, after shutdown i need to wait about a 2 minutes to try to start again. After 6 minutes phone shutdown again, and i have same problem to start.
I can't believe that is overheating because its a new cellphone and as i said i had received today. I had tried a reset and no success, phone still shutdown.
Thanks
Overheating
I had looked that is a overheating problem, when system comes to 60 celsius cellphone shutdown.

Hmm very strange, would start to think hardware problem if it persists between Roms. But you say it's fine other than after its booted into the ROM itself. Have you unlocked the bootloader, what Roms did you try?

Hi i had tried a 8.1.2 Miui, 8.0.4, global and chinese.
MY bootloader its locked, i'm waiting for xiaomi allow my unlock. When i boot on fastboot mode cellphone does not shutdown, but fastboot mode its only screen of fastboot, its not a system. I believe that cellphone is not heating, but its not sure.
Thank You
I'm believing that is a software bug, because when i plug he shows error message "Please plug out", and few minutes before i had started system and shows -3 Celsius and heat up to 60 celsius and poweroff again.
I had drain battery in fastboot mode and trying to solve this bug.
Maybe you could try flashing to the latest Global developer 7.2.9 & see how it boots then.
Other than that as gsmyth eluded too it's most likely hardware & I would be in contact with your seller A.S.A.P for a replacement.

Guys, do you still face it? I have new Redmi Note 4 with latest stable MIUI 9 and Android 7 and my phone just rebooted from no reason during a phone call...
I just had the same issue that started 2 days ago. I was running the latest official Lineage 0S and the device started rebooting every 2 minutes or so.
I tried wiping cache and dalvik which didn't help. Then I clean flashed the latest Pixel Experience and after about a day of using it the rebooting continued.
So this morning I flashed the stock fastboot ROM to see how that goes... and so far so good. I really hope it's not a hardware issue.
I will post here again if my rebooting starts again.

So? Did it stop? Mine is rebooting randomly. Tried every ROMs but dunno it didn't cause any issue in those although in a global stock ROM it happens frequently. Worth mentioning=> I had to root my phone. Wiped all my data, installed the old default stable ROM etc. still the issue persists. Did an analysis from Simple System Monitor app I gathered that everything is running okay except "pa_therm0" is showing whooping 95°C temp! Dunno it could be a wrong reading but anyone could help on this then I'd appreciate

Do you have a second SIM card inserted?
I figured out a while later that having a sim in slot 2 causes reboots. With an SD inserted and no SIM, reboots have stopped pretty much entirely. A friend of mine with the same device has the same issue even though he's running stock. I'm not sure if it's a factory fault of all devices but I'm afriaid I just need to use my phone as a single SIM device from now on

Yes I do have double sim cards inserted since 8 months. It could be a problem for my random reboot issue. But, recently I've cleared both Dalvik & cache partitions through the Recovery mode. People in other forums have mentioned that this solution has worked for them. Gladly till now there hasn't been any single random reboot happened by so far. Rest assure I'll keep you updated

Glad to hear it Wipe Dalvik & Cache is always the golden rule when dealing with custom ROMs.
Sadly though, it made no difference for me. Only thing that helped me is removing SIM 2

Well it seems like for me wiping Dalvik Cache & running on only 1 sim methods didn't helped at all. So I stopped using processor & battery hungry Snapchat app. Guess this should help.
You guys when you face such problems after you brought a phone you should definitely go and have it fixed or replaced it(or get your money back).Do not rush and unlock bootloader thinking that it will help you because if it is hardware problem it is over, and the service center has every right to blame you for its damage since you messed with it.Like my lg g4........

I only ran into the problem after unlocking the bootloader because I had only used one sim while everything was still stock. I know I could relock bootloader and send it in and probably get a knew device, but to me it isn't worth it. The cell service providers in my country are notorious for taking their time with repairs and replacements. It's not worth the 3-5 months it will probably take... I'll be just fine with a single sim.

They've just unplugged the battery for some seconds and reconnected it. This action, forced M/B to hard reset. You can try that. Somewhere on the page there are instruction from ifixit. Just unplug the battery.

My tab s3 keep restarting and freezing by itself

Hello everyone
I have Samsung Tab S3 since it's release in 2017 .. and it was a very nice tab till a couple months ago ..
It started restarting by itself .. and it happenes always when I'm not using it or when I'm pausing a video ..
And when I leave it for a couple hours i find out that it's turned off and it can't be turned on till I hard restart it ..
I tried :
Emptying the battery to the end then recharge and didn't work.
Removing SD card and didn't work.
Entering safe mode and still restarted.
Wipe cash partition didn't work.
Factory reset and didn't work.
And finally flash stock ROM with Odin without rooting .. problem not solved
When I put the tab on power saver the restarting takes so much longer to happen ..
Could it be a hardware related thing? Or a battery thing?
Thank you in advanced for your help
*Edit 1 (problem fixed) : I rooted my tablet and installed Kernel Auditor app and changed the governor to Userspace and set the minimum frequency of the CPU to 422 instead of 307 and made the app do the settings change on boot . After this it had not restarted for 3 days.
*Edit 2 lately I flashed lineageOS unofficial 18.1 android 11 into the tablet and edited the big clusters only to interval governor while keeping the small ones with blue schedule. My tablet now is working like a charm with no issue.
Has the battery SOT time noticeably decreased?
If below 80% of its original capacity it's time to replace it.
Any swelling is a battery failure, replace asap.
Changes in charging behavior could indicate a failure as well.
Has it been dropped or exposed to moisture? You see where this is going... mobos can also randomly fail.
Does it happen in safe mode?
Check it to rule out 3rd party apps.
Original rom, don't update the system apps, all power management should be disabled.
Pull SD card if it has one for now before reload.

*After the restarting it gets stuck and shuts down and you have to turn it on by (down+power), if you turn it on immediately you have the same battery percentage but if I let it through the night and force turning it on the battery is decreased alot, it looks like when the tab is off after the freezing and restarting it is consuming alot of battery even if it's off.
*I tried the safe mode it still restarts
*I went to the beach 6 months ago and it stopped charging because of the moisture for about a week then it got back to its normal state
*I noticed that When I boot into (downloading mode) or (recovery mode) it stays on for days and doesn't restart or freeze
If you got salt water in it, it's already dead.
Needs to be pulled apart and inspected for corrosion damage. Sorry...

You mean the motherboard or the battery is dead ?
If the mobo got salt water on it or even water in it can destroy it. Current flow greatly accelerates corrosion.
The tab needs be dissembled*, dried and inspected for damage especially where there's high current flow and exposed conductors.
Sooner is better...
*pull battery connector asap

Question OnePlus Ace 2 (China) Color os to Oxygen issues after flashing

Hello. I've heard that the Chinese (OnePlus Ace 2) version of 11R has some issues after flashing from Color OS to Oxygen, like not working fingerprint, not working OTA update (if you update, you get a bootloop), issues with notifications, etc. I have ordered one from china and I am a bit worried. Can anyone confirm this?
Mine is from china and it is oxygen now. I only experience issue that sometimes when I turn on the screen it will flash rapidly for a couple seconds.

Update: Also experiencing occasional screen flash during unlock, turning auto brightness off lessens it but it still occurs.

I ordered one from china too. They also changed from color os to oxygen os.Now I'm facing the same issue as you.The issue doesn't happen every time tho like when I open the phone and it will start to flicker for a sec and then the screen goes dark for a sec and returns to a normal state.I'm just concerned that the issue will damage to OLED somehow.I'm also experiencing regional sim problem.Eveytime I reboot my phone, the warning note shows up (you're using region-cutomized phone......) and it kinda annoying even tho I can make phone calls and use internet as yet.
I got mine yesterday, but many issues occur, flashing screen, autobrightness does not work at all, alwasy-on display causes flickering, random reboot (not often, once or twice a day i believe) and the biggest problem is the region lock, although seller told me three times it was unlocked...
Do these issues occur with color os too, can anyone give some feedback please?

I do have the exact same issues as you.I can use only 1 sim (for internet only) ,I can't make phone calls to anyone but recently my mum calls me twice somehow but now when I try with my mum phone to call my phone, it's not working tho.I believe these happens except region lock issue because of oxygen os.Though I never told to change to the oxygen os, they already changed it.Even Redmi phones don't have like these issues.I instantly regret buying it now
Yeah, i am thinking of returning it, selling is not very clever... So you think these issues occur cause of region lock? Or every china model flashed with oxygen os? I believe some parts of system must be taken from color os, they dont get flashed, and that can cause incompability... Mine stopped making calls after i rebooted few times.

And by the way, i can still call, i even tried restarting more than 10 times, still works. How long did you use it, some state it stops after 2 weeks.

If you have a problem with region lock, send me the imei number 1, and I will send you the code to cancel it for free
I did hardware test, and the lighting sensor does not work properly, or at all, it is detected but it does not register changes, it is overall with readings. Seems like driver issue or incompability, i suppose if we used the driver from color os it would work, but who can change that?

Yeah.Everything's fine except region lock and a little light flickering sometimes when I open the phone.
